Dupes ALERT🚨: These Drugstore Beauty Brands Amazed Me!
Just because something’s expensive doesn’t necessarily mean that it’s good – or, at least, better than something cheaper. Luckily, there are some fantastic drugstore brands out there with dupes that work just as well (or sometimes even better!) than the more expensive options – and after trying out a lot of them over the years, I’ve summed up the best available here.
Hack to clean makeup brushes
I had never heard of cleaning your makeup brushes with Zote laundry soap before until I saw this hack on tick toc. I thought I’d give it a try I saw several videos where they just place the soap in the sink and rub the makeup brushes over the soap bar and rinse them. That seemed like a waste of soap to me. Then I saw the video below where they put the zote in a glass jar and I thought that would be quarantine project & a cute idea, and would save on waste Tick toc video https://vm.tiktok.com/nf9J6A/ Materials needed to make your own jar 1): Zote laundry soap $1.00 2): Small Glass jar or container 3): boiling water 4): vegetable peeler or vegetable shredder Steps to make your own jar 1): Use a vegetable peeler to slice the zote soap In thin slices 2): put slices in glass jar or container of Choice leave room for water 3): Pour boing water over the zote soap I stirred mine a little. I highly recommend this hack it was easy and my makeup brushes look brand new and smell great. Try it out and tell me what you think. #Zote - Soap[products]#[FiveStars] This is some amazing stuff. Best face sunscreen to prevent dark spots under $20
Each summer, I get an incredible amount of pigmentation spots, considering the fact that I very rarely go to the beach or spend time outside. But it looks like my skin is determined to get a tan and also lots of dark spots at the same time. Until now, I’ve always used a moisturizer with 15-20 SPF, but this year, I decided to take things to the next level and use a face sunscreen cream every day. I couldn’t decide what I’d like to try first, so I ordered both NUXE Sun Melting Cream High Protection for Face SPF 50 and Mineral UV Filters SPF 30 with Antioxidants. NUXE is a bit more expensive compared to The Ordinary, but still a budget-friendly brand. I’ve been using both products for over two weeks now, and I kinda love them both. Here is why: NUXE Sun Melting Cream High Protection for Face SPF 50 The texture is heavenly, like royal jelly; it is an absolute pleasure to apply it. It spreads evenly, doesn’t leave a greasy or chalky film behind, and it smells divine too. Unlike most SPF 50 creams, this one has a more lightweight texture, melting as the name suggests. My skin feels hydrated immediately after application, and this is a big deal considering the fact it is an SPF 50 after all. I use this one in the mornings, instead of my regular moisturizer during weekends or when I plan to wear light or no makeup. The Ordinary Mineral UV Filters SPF 30 with Antioxidants The Ordinary - Mineral UV Filters SPF 30 with Antioxidants This sunscreen from The Ordinary was a bit of a shock to apply. It is darker in color compared to NUXE, and the texture completely different. This sunscreen is like a thick paste, not as easy to apply as NUXE. However, this is normal for mineral filters’ sunscreen. Once applied, I noticed that I instantly looked like Snow White! I don’t mean just a brighter, whiter complexion, but also very even in terms of texture and color of the skin. So, if you are struggling with uneven skin, this is definitely a must-have. The skin feels a bit dry after application, but for somebody with combination skin like me, this is just an added benefit. And what I’ve noticed is that you don’t need foundation or concealer if you are wearing this. So, this is the sunscreen cream I’m applying in the mornings when I want to wear more makeup, I have formal meetings, or I just want to have the perfect complexion.
