My Skin Journey
My skin gotten worse over since the beginning of quarantine in March. I saw that I was getting a lot of pimples and a lot of dark spots on my face. I realized that what I used wasn’t working anymore and then tried several different products before I found the right one. I was first using Tea Tree Oil Face Wash for the Body Shop, but it wasn’t working anymore for my face. After the Body Shop, I used Differin Cleanser, then the Aztec Face Mask, then African Bar Soap. None of these worked for my face until I went back to Curology. I used Curology before, but stopped because my parents didn’t want to give me anymore money to buy it. But then around September, I started using it again. Curology works like wonders. If you are stuck and you don’t know what products to use on your face, I recommend trying out Curology. *If you have any questions, feel free to comment* (The before pictures were taken on September 6 and the now pictures were taken on December 30.) Reviewing My Followers Skincare Routines pt. 4
Hey ya’ll! In part 4 of Reviewing My Followers Skincare Routines we’re reviewing @Raks and @juliachristine’s skincare routines. Starting with @Rakswho reached out to me via Cherie message because she started skincare about a year ago because of her upcoming wedding. She starts by cleansing with theThursday Plantation - Tea Tree Face Wash Foam which costs $8.99 for 5.1 fl oz. This cleanser is very basic. It has tea tree oil, and eucalyptus oil. My issue is with the eucalyptus oil, which is a very irritating essential oil right up there with lemon oil and peppermint oil. If this doesn’t irritate your skin then it’s a great cleanser, but I can’t recommend it to those with sensitive skin. Then she goes in with 4 serums. First is thepura d'or - 20% Vitamin C Serum which costs $14.99 for 4 fl oz. This is a really good serum. It has aloe vera juice, glycerin, jojoba oil, and argan oil which are hydrating ingredients, and then it has hylaronic acid, retinol, and Vitamin C. I love it! Then she uses#The Ordinary - Nicinamide Serum[products]#[FiveStars] which costs $5.90 for 1 fl oz. We’ve talked a lot about this serum, it’s very good. Next is the#Tree Of Life - Hylaronic acid serum[products]#[TwoStars] which costs $10.95 for 1 fl oz. I don’t like this serum. It started off good with hylaronic acid, aloe vera juice, Vitamin E, and Vitamin C, but it contains way too many Essential oils and irritating extracts. And her final serum is theSkinMedica - LYTERA 2.0 Pigment Correcting Serum which costs $130.90 for 2 fl oz, which is very expensive. This is not worth the price. It has nicinamide and glycerin, and then some not very researched acids. I don’t recommend continuing use of this serum. Then to moisturize she goes in with theOLAY - Regenerist Regenerating Day Cream which costs $29.99 for 1.7 fl oz. I don’t like this moisturizer. Let’s start with some positives. It has nicinamide, glycerin, and Vitamin B3. Now it has a lot of bad ingredients also. It has Sodium Laureth Sulfate, which is a harsh cleansing agent, as well as fragrance being the 6th ingredient. The she uses a Neutrogena sunscreen, and occasionally usesThe Ordinary - AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution which costs $7.20 for 1 fl oz. This is a great exfoliant. I think @Raks is using too many serums. I would stick to only the Pura D’or and The Ordinary serum, and ditch the other two. Keep the cleanser, and maybe try a different moisturizer. You asked for mineral sunscreen reccomendations for dark skin tones that don’t have a white cast, so I got you girl! I have light skin, but I did some research and I’d recommend the#First Aid Beauty - Weightless Mineral SPF 30[products]#[FiveStars] which costs $34 for 1.5 fl oz, and the #Biossance - Squalane Zinc Sheer SPF 30[products]#[FiveStars] which costs $30 for 1.7 fl oz. Both of these have minimal white cast, and Skincare by Hyram recommends them. Next is @juliachristine’s night routine. She starts off by cleansing with the #Vanicream - Unscented Gentle Cleanser[products]#[ThreeStars] witch costs $8.99 for 8 fl oz. This a nice basic cleanser with glycerin. Next she uses the#OBAGI - Tretinoin 0.025% Cream[products]#[TwoStars] which costs $84 for .7 fl oz. This cream has tretinoin which is a Vitamin A derivative which can treat acne, as well as retinol which also Vitamin A. I don’t think it’s worth the price, but it’s okay. Next she uses the #The Ordinary - Azelaic Acid Suspension 10%[products]#[FourStars] which costs $7.99 for 1 fl oz. Along with azelaic acid, it has dimethicone which is a great moisturizer for dry skin. Next she uses theCeraVe - Daily Moisturizing Lotion For Normal To Dry Skin which costs $17.99 for 15 fl oz. Y’all know I love this product! Finally she finishes off with theVERSED - ZERO-G Smoothing Eye Cream witch costs $17.99 for .5 fl oz. Eye cream is definitely not necessary but this one is great! It has glycerin, algae extract, and olive oil which are hydrating, along with shea butter and a blend of peptides which can help firm the skin and increase collagen production which can help reduce fine lines around the eyes. Overall @juliachristine your routine looks great! That’s it for this post please cheer for this post if you liked it, comment your opinions on these products, and follow me for similar content. Upcoming posts include a 1 month Curology review and unnecessary skincare steps you don’t need. -Mae
Suggestions help?? 🥲
I’m still having trouble with my acne, at first it was clearing up then all of sudden it keeps getting worse, any recommendations will help ! 😣 Cetaphil - Cetaphil Gentle Foaming Cleanser epielle - Black Charcoal Peel-Off Mask The Ordinary - AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution Sometimes I would use .. The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% but if I don’t I would skip it and use .. The Ordinary - Ascorbic Acid 8% + Alpha Arbutin 2%

Tips to Get the Most of Curology 🔥 🌟
Thanks for my goodies @curology! So happy to be a part of the #Curologyambassador family! 💗 Curology doesn’t work 100% of the time for everyone. As you know, skin issues are much more than skin deep. If you have a hormonal imbalance, topicals aren’t going to be the best for you. But they can still help with texture and hyperpigmentation. My tip: Many users can tolerate Curology every night. BUT if you’re new to any of its ingredients (like tretinoin), you might want to start slow. So you might find one to begin once a week for two weeks. Then, twice a week. Move up to three times a week. And then try it 4-5 times a week. First two week: Use twice a week (M/F) Third-four week: Use three times a week (M/W/F) After first month: Use four or five times a week (M/W/F/S) HOWEVER, this timeline only works if your skin is tolerating it. How do you know it is? We’ll make sure you DO NOT have any of these: Sudden dryness Redness Irritation Even if you can tolerate 4-5 times a week, I recommend you give your skin a day or two to relax and use those days for masks and moisturizers instead. 🌟 PD: I’m linking to my Curology page (I don’t get any commissions) for anyone who wants to try two months for FREE! #curologyambassador

Before and Afters still in progress....
I truly don’t like doing before and afters especially when it looks like there’s barely any progress but I promise you my skin FEELS so much better than it looks and I’ve seen some amazing progress! I’ve tagged the products I feel have helped the most recently. It takes patience but little progress is still PROGRESS 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Differin progress... is this a purge or what?
Sorry this is gross.. I know my skin isn’t pretty right now. Today marks the 4th week I’ve been on DIFFERIN - 0.1% Adapalene Acne Treatment Gel Pump and also my new birth control (yaz). I have literally never, EVER seen my skin this awful and angry. Should I stick it out until the and of 12 weeks? Does this look like a purge or just a flat out breakout?! I’m freaking out.. I don’t even want to go outside looking like this. I’m also using Cetaphil - Cetaphil Moisturizing Cream am and pm, and cleansing with CeraVe - Hydrating Facial Cleanser . Not looking to add any more products. Sometimes I use a hydrating toner. The dryness and peeling has subsided but the pimples do hurt, my cheeks are tender to the touch and sometimes itchy but that has gotten better over time also. Please help!!!!! EDIT: i just bought the DIFFERIN - Daily Deep Cleanser BPO 5%, Neutrogena - On-the-Spot Acne Treatmentand HERO COSMETICS - Mighty Patch Original for Madewellto hopefully combat the horrible breakouts pictured above. just praying it doesnt over dry my skin.

Clay Hair Mask
HOW TO MAKE: 2 Tbs of Aztec clay powder and 2 Tbs of Organic Apple Cider Vinegar AZTEC SECRET - Indian Healing Clay HOW TO PUT ON: Wet hair Divide hair into sections Comb clay mixture into hair with fingers Leave on for 30 minutes HOW TO WASH OUT: Start off with cold water then transition to slightly warmer water MY THOUGHTS: My hair definitely felt clean and my curls felt soft; however, I didn’t get as much curl definition as I was hoping for. Any tips for more curl definitions? What other ingredients have you added to hair clay mixtures?
oily skin & don’t know how to manage? I got you
this post is for all the people who have oily skin and sometimes just don’t know how to deal with it! well i’m here for some tips! I have oily/combo skin and I’ve learnt some important info during my skincare journey that I would love to share with you all 🤗 1. still moisturise it is super important for people with oily skin to keep up with moisturising ! you may think that your skin is hydrated and doesn’t need any extra moisture, but it still really does. if you don’t moisturise, or use products to keep your skin hydrated, your skin can overcompensate with releasing it’s natural oils, which in hand, can make your skin more oily 2. don’t be afraid of oils whether this is oil cleansing or any certain type of oil (rosehip, squalane etc), don’t be hesitant to use these products just because of your skin type. for me, oils have made a huge difference to my skin, especially oil cleansing! one thing to remember with oil cleansing, is that oils attract oils, and therefore are oil soluble. products like this help to get rid of grease, blackheads etc and can be great for oily skin! 3. use products targeted for oily skin I know that this one is quite self explanatory, but here are some products that helped my oily skin become more manageable! - niacinamide. this ingredient is amazing for oily skin ! it helps to decrease oil production from within the skin. my fav product is NATURIUM - Niacinamide Serum 12% Plus Zinc 2% , but I also don’t mind The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% -exfoliation. now with this I don’t mean physical exfoliation, but chemical exfoliation! my favourite exfoliant has to be PAULA'S CHOICE - Skin Perfecting 2% BHA Liquid Exfoliator this one is my HOLY GRAIL product of them all ! I have many posts on this product so be sure to check those out for an in depth description. - clay face masks. these are good for absorbing oil and giving your face a matte finish. some of my favs are PAULA'S CHOICE - Skin Balancing Oil-Absorbing Mask AZTEC SECRET - Indian Healing Clay I hope this helps and if you have any questions, feel free to comment 🌟🥰

Advice on routine please
Hi Everyone,All skincare experts out here.I am new to the skin care.I have been started looking into skincare from last 3 months. Learned a lot ,I didn’t even know what’s a PORE.I was neither into makeup nor skin care so never even bothered to know what was my skin type.I just cared enough to not use much chemicals so got hold of a brand called AVEDA and used CTM of AVEDA from almost a year. Recently I learned from my derm that I have Rosacea😱I was surprised to know brown skin people can also have that problem 😟. So I need all of your advice on - —How to layer products, how to get rid of so much of blackheads on my face. —How to fit in my new products (COSRX AHA/BHA,COSRX snail essence) in my everyday skin care. —And people say water based then oil based so where should the squalane based retinol go????Because all other products seems to be water based🙁 —Looking at my skin, what else should I do?? I never noticed that I have so many dark spots😪 I have been working from home since March,so no makeup at all.My current skincare routine- AM Clinique Cream Cleanser Tru Skin Vitamin C Pixi Rose ceramide cream Missha sun essence PM Aveda cream cleanser/Clinique cream cleanser TO Niacimide TO 0.5% Retinol in Squalane(Alternate days) Aveda Brightening serum/PIXI Milky hydrating serum( Not everyday) PIXI ceramide cream/Aveda hydrating moisturizer/inkeylist Bakichoi Face oil(Mix of jojoba oil/Rosehip oil/Turmeric oil)
Rate my routine!
Hey everybody! I recently joined this app and I’m so happy I did. I just started using these products on my normal to oily skin. Before this, I used to use DIFFERIN - Daily Refreshing Cleanser and OXY - Acne Medication With Benzoyl Peroxidebut I felt like it wasn’t doing the job. The first slide is my daily and nightly routine. The second slide is the face masks I use about once a week. I also use DIFFERIN - DIFFERIN Acne Treatment Gel as a spot treatment, but I forgot to include it in the photo🤦♀️. The pads in the second slide only come in handy if I have a major breakout on my face (they do the job) and I only use the pad in that area. Otherwise, the Clearasil - Rapid Rescue Deep Treatment Pads are too strong for me and sting. Please give me all of your feedback! I love hearing from others and I want to make sure I’m on the right track❤️ @cherie

Hi everyone! I would love to get some tips from you guys, as I’m someone who’s just recently started her skincare journey!!! I’m a 19 year old college student who wants cheap but effective products, and I am willing to take any criticism you may have! ☀️AM☀️ Start by cleansing with CeraVe - Foaming Facial Cleanser For Normal To Oily Skin | I really love the texture of this cleanser and it leaves my skin feeling refreshed and smooth! Go in with The Ordinary - Lactic Acid 10% + HA in order to help with acne scarring and hyper-pigmentation. Also hoping it evens out texture and large pores🤞🏻 (I do this every day except Wednesday and Sunday) Top it with The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% to help with my hormonal acne and oiliness. Finish with CeraVe - AM Facial Moisturizing Lotion SPF 30 for some moisture and sun protection!!!! 🌙PM⭐️ After I shower, I used the same cleanser as above. After my skin has dried, I go in with The Ordinary - Glycolic Acid 7% Toning Solution | I purchased this around December because I needed a toner and I personally feel like it hasn’t done too much for my skin in that time, plus it leaves a sticky film on the skin. Every day besides Wednesday I will add The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% on top of the toner. If it’s a Wednesday, I use The Ordinary - AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution which again was purchased around the same time as the toner and I feel like my skin hasn’t changed very much from it. If it’s a Sunday, I will use The Ordinary - Salicylic Acid 2% Masque which feels super strong and leaves my skin feeling clean. Top everything off with CeraVe - PM Facial Moisturizing Lotion , I absolutely LOVE how lightweight it is and how easily the skin absorbs it! To spot treat acne, I use the MARIO BADESCU - Mario Badescu Drying Lotion | been using this since high school, is a holy grail but would love a cheaper alternative! My skin is pretty oily, except for occasional dryness in the winter. Please let me know what you guys think + if you have any tips and tricks regarding application or order of application! Thank you 🤗

New to Skincare, Need Help
Hi all, I’m a 19 year old and I have been experimenting and trying out new products for years to improve my skin (which I know is not a good idea). I have very sensitive skin which makes it hard to use just any products. My current skincare routine consist of washing my face with a gel cleanser (Swisse Skincare: Olive Leaf Deep Cleansing Gel, with glycolic and salicylic acid), and Lucas PaPaw Ointment which is a vaseline-like consistency as my “moisturiser” because I’m too afraid that if I use a moisturising face lotion, it might cause a reaction to my face (knowing from experience), so I stopped using it. I also use The Ordinary Peeling Solution The Ordinary - AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution from time to time because I heard that using it often if not good for your skin, and it has definitely improve my skin complexion, however did nothing to my acne scars, acne, pores, etc. Sometimes (but rarely), I use Swisse Makuna honey clay mask Swisse - Manuka Honey Detoxifying Facial Mask and it kinda smooths out my skin but for awhile lmao... So far, that’s all the products that I use for my face, morning and night. Could someone please tell me if I am missing something out or if you have any recommendations? Thank you!

Overnight Before & After!
Yesterday I woke up with some pesky, painful period pimples. I decided I want to develop a more thorough skin care routine - so I went ahead! That afternoon CLEASNER: I cleaned off my face with up&up - All In One Micellar Cleansing Water which is $2 less than Garnier and works well. MASK: I decided to apply The Ordinary - AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution which burnt a little at first, but honestly seems to work wonders!! I bought this that day and was very excited for it. MOISTURIZER: I then moisturize and went on with my day. At night CLEANSER: Used the micellar water as a cleanser again. MASK: I applied PETER THOMAS ROTH - Cucumber Gel Masque to parts of my face that felt tight and it soothed a lot! It was cooling and helped with any irritation I had. I only give it 4 stars because I think it could do a bit more for the price. TREATMENT: I applied my prescribed Epiduo. MOISTURIZER: And later followed up with POND'S - Facial Moisturizers Dry Skin Cream that I love so much! It's so cheap and feels so soothing. In the morning I cleaned my face and moisturized and I'm wowed by the results just 24 hours later!! I'm so impressed by The Ordinary - AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution Thanks for reading with me!

start of my clear skin journey! (read desc. pls)
Check recent posts for skin updates! Also I may make changes to my routine! here are before pictures of my skin. i will be using these products daily and seeing how my skin reacts! i’ve done a lot of research (and watched a lot of hyram) and i think these products are right for my skin. my skin: • more on the oily side, but can get super dry • very acne prone, i get all kinds of it (cystic, whiteheads, blackheads, etc.) • not very sensitive • i have a bad habit of picking • some scarring products: panoxyl face wash - has the highest concentration of benzoyl peroxide that you can find, which is great for treat existing breakouts and preventing future ones differin gel retinoid - my dermatologist has put me on adapelene gel before and i have run out during quarantine so i have substituted with this and it’s working well. it helps keep my skin smooth and to prevent breakouts, and it also helps with anti-aging and scarring. the ordinary niacinamide and zinc serum - hyram says this is his favorite serum from the ordinary, and says it can be great for people with problem skin. the box says it helps with pores and complexion. “blemish formula” can help with scarring cerve daily moisturizer - i use this as a normal moisturizer after i apply my other products. it has ceramides and such in it that help with moisture. i am using this to keep my skin hydrated, not for my acne. cerave facial sunscreen - i use this to protect my skin. sunscreen is an essential step in a skincare routine. the sun is very damaging. sunscreen is the key to keep your skin looking supple and young. neosporin - this may sound weird to use but it does wonders since i have a horrible habit of picking my breakouts. when i pick, they scab over so i use this as an overnight healing treatment for the scabs (can also be used for dry spots) and it helps them heal quicker. the ordinary chemical exfoliant mask - i think this will help me because chemical exfoliant are very good for flushing out unwanted dead skin and such that can be clogging pores. it’s like a reset for your skin. i will be using this once a week. morning routine: • panoxyl face wash • the ordinary serum • moisturizer + sunscreen night routine: • panoxyl face wash • differin retinoid • the ordinary serum • moisturizer • neosporin on scabs/dry spots
