New additions to my routine this spring
In spring my skincare routine doesn’t change that much but I do start to add a couple products so during the summer my skin doesn’t break out due to a bunch of new products. The spring is also when I start to try new skincare to see if I want to use it during the summer. So here are some of the things I added recently. Krave - Kale-Lalu-yAHA this Toner I got during the end of last summer. And it’s a very gentle chemical exfoliant and it has lots of anti oxidants and ingredientsto strengthen the skin barrier and the best thing about it it’s made by one of my favorite youtubers Liah Yoo! But the mistake that I made first using this is that I used it daily and my sensitive skin did not handle it well😬 so I stopped using it in the colder months but I started using it recently now that it’s getting warmer but I’m just using it 2-3 times a week and it always leaves me with a nourished glow. Krave - The Beet Shield This is the same brand that made the toner and it’s just a good sunscreen and you only need a little bit to cover your whole face. It’s also very light weight which is great for my oily skin and it never leaves a white cast instead it leaves a dewy look which I really like. The Ordinary - AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution This one I didn’t rate yet cause I’ve only used it twice and i know that I’m not gonna see amazing results instantly but I heard this is really good for acne scars in the long run so I thought id try it out! I only use this once a week because it is very strong and if ur new to chemical exfoliant I wouldn’t recommend this because it might sting or cause a bad reaction if u haven’t used ahas or bhas before. But I haven’t had any bad reactions to this.COSRX - Centella Blemish Cream I recently purchased this because I really liked the have a good centella cream from Juno but I needed something a little bit stronger that could also get rid of some minor breakout on my forehead and it’s lived up to all of my expectations the only thing is that it leaves a white cast and you only get a little bit in each jar. And It hasn’t completely got rid of the recent tiny bumps on my forehead but it’s definitely helped😊
How I finally beat my cystic acne
Before I go into my product recs, let me just say: NO PRODUCT WILL BE YOUR MAGIC CYSTIC ACNE CURE. Sooo many things went into my journey. Finally realizing I was allergic to dairy, getting an IUD, getting sleep, etc. These products are the ones that helped me take control of when the breakouts DID happen. Please put your physical and mental health first, and remember to love yourself AND your acne. Everyone gets them! PAULA'S CHOICE - SKIN PERFECTING 2% BHA LIQUID EXFOLIANT This should be everyone’s HG exfoliator. The aloe vera makes this hydrating and perfect for skin thats always too dry or too oily. Salicylic acid is also the only chemical exfoliant that can penetrate the skin enough to actually help cysts. COSRX - Aloe Soothing Sun Cream SPF50 PA+++ CosRX is a lifesaver for me. I want to try every product of theirs! This one is my HG sunscreen, though. It’s a hybrid sunscreen that’s rich enough to be a moisturizer AND silky enough to be a makeup primer. It’s perfect for those days when your skin needs a moisturizer, but you don’t want to layer up your products, or you just want a low maintenance day routine. #e.l.f. - Happy Hydration Cream[products]# I am so obsessed with this skincare line. Gel moisturizers NEVER keep my skin hydrated for long, so I always reach for ones with a light oil in it. Hemp has quickly become my favorite, and this moisturizer is my HG for year-round hydration. COSRX - Balancium Comfort Ceramide Cream 80ml Perfect to put on dry patches at night! Make sure you use a moisturizer though - it only locks in moisture! COSRX - Centella Blemish Cream Great to put on a blemish to take down the redness and irritation. ONLY use as a spot treatment at night, though. It’s more difficult to blend in than a mineral sunscreen and way too thick to put all over the face. HONORABLE MENTIONS: - Double cleansing with an oil cleanser first. Your skin will thank you. - Sunday Riley Saturn Mask: good spot treatment for whiteheads and small zits - Hydrocolloid acne patches: I don’t get picky about the brand, but I use these on whiteheads and over popped acne. Just make sure to dry/disinfect it first before putting one of these guys on, otherwise you trap all of the gross stuff in there. Overall, patience was how I beat my acne. I graduated, I moved and decided to take time off of working. I adopted yoga and a better sleep routine. I cut out dairy and limited myself to one coffee a day. I made my own easy and healthy meals. And above all, I limited my skincare to a consistent and easy routine with essentials that were no-frills. I used an exfoliator twice a week and found nourishing serums and treatments that didn’t attack my skin, but gave it some extra help. YMMV in everything I said above, but I hope I helped at least a bit!
✨ PRODUCT REVIEW ✨ Hello my dears! Recently my skin is not in the best condition (stress, poor diet) and I got a few nasty pimples - and this is the time when I reach for this little buddy 💚 I've been using this Cosrx Centella Blemish Cream for about a month now and I really love it. I use it at night only as its consistency is veeery thick and sooo white. It doesn't sink into the skin and leaves white marks so I can't use it in AM routine. I apply this on my pimples and post acne marks and it works wonders! I wouldn't say it gives an immediate result and does make pimples disappear overnight - but it definitely soothes the inflamed area and speeds up the healing process. If it comes to fading blemishes - I can see the difference after a month but I'm not sure whether it's thanks to this cream or AHA liquid. Overall - this is really nice and gentle spot treatment which helps to heal pimples without being harsh or irritating like some other acne treatments. I don't think it would work on hudge painful zits (maybe it would calm them down a bit) but for smaller pimples and blemishes - highly recommend! Will I ever repurchase? Of course! I love it's healing and soothing properties and my sensitive acne prone skin loves it 💚💚

Salicylic Acid: Acne’s Best Friend 🖤
I’ve suffered from acne off and on for years but last year it was at an all time low. I had a period in my life where my chin was breaking out so bad. As soon as one blemish would heal it seemed like two more would pop up. It was this time in my life I found one of my favorite skincare ingredients, salicylic acid. Salicylic acid is a BHA (which is a chemical exfoliant) which loosens the “glue” bonds of dead skin cells to encourage exfoliation. It’s lipophilic which means it can penetrate through clogged pores and oil to help clean everything out (meaning it’s perfect for people like me who have oily skin!). One of my favorite products that spotlights this ingredient is the CLINIQUE - Acne Solutions Clinical Clearing Gel . I completely contribute my chin being free of break outs thanks to this item. The gel consistency of it absorbs really easily into the skin. It comes in two sizes, the one above is .5 oz for $18 and it has lasted me months! I use it as a spot treatment so you only need a little bit. After I cleanse and tone my face I go in with this on spots I tend to break out and it helps calm the skin, clear any breakouts, and even prevents future break outs from happening. Another product with this ingredient is the GEORGETTE KLINGER - Acne Spot Relief which I’m not the biggest fan of. This has a cream consistency instead which I find myself having to work into my skin more for it to absorb. It comes in one size, 1 oz for $22. Another reason I’m not a fan is because it contains (and smells heavily of) tea tree which can potential be a irritant to the skin. With this quarantine going on my skin was breaking out very badly and it did calm down the redness and help heal the blemish. It’s just not my favorite consistency because it doesn’t absorb as well. Personally, the Clinique will be a forever repurchase for me. I find the formula a little more effective on the skin even though they both do what they claim to do. The gel consistency is a lot better for oily skin. I also tend to use more product than necessary with the cream than the gel so in the end your product is going to last you longer. I also don’t enjoy the smell of tea tree in the Georgette Klinger while the Clinique has no smell. Between the two the Clinique is my personal preference.

Great moisturizer for acne!
I found my new holy grail moisturizer!! For me, i get very dry skin but tend to over compensate with the oils, which has lead to congested skin and therefore acne. I especially get the tiny bumps that you can’t see from a far, but the texture is 😩 I absolutely love this moisturizer for keeping my dry skin AND acne at bay! primera - Alpine Berry Water Cream

centella for redness in blemishes
this product by cosrx has been working SO well for me! Whenever I get a breakout/blemish my redness is what makes it stand out the most, and this product here really helps to soothe the inflammation and take down the redness significantly!! It is a very very thick texture, and it does leave a white cast on the skin- so I only use this at night time. It also has a strong scent- but it doesn’t irritate my skin. But regardless of those, it doesn’t effect my opinion because I know how well it works on my skin. It really has helped my blemishes heal so much faster (which is what it’s designed to do) and helps brighten up my hyperpigmentation significantly. I don’t think I could be without this product. And at the price of only $15? It’s absolutely worth every penny! I would and will tell everybody they need this product! Such a treasure to keep in your skincare collection.

LaRoche-Posay Cicaplast Baume B5 🙌🏻
✨ABOUT ME✨ My skin is combination, normal everywhere except my nose which is oily. My skin is also acne-prone. ✨ABOUT THE PRODUCT✨ It is marketed as a soothing, repairing balm for face, body, and lips. Its star ingredients are panthenol, madecassoside, copper, zinc, manganese, and Shea butter, and this product is fragrance free. ✨MY EXPERIENCE WITH THE PRODUCT✨ I love this product! I would not say it has a balm consistency, but rather the consistency of a moisturizer. I use it anywhere my skin is irritated or broken (for example after popping a pimple) and my skin drinks it up and heals much quicker than without it. I definitely recommend that everyone keep this product in their medicine cabinet for irritation, injuries, burns, etc. that may occur anywhere on the body.
