Products that helped my acne

I’ve struggled with acne since 7th grade (I’m 20 now). I have used a lot of products and there are a handful I want to share that have really helped me get closer to my clear skin goal. PAULA'S CHOICE - Skin Perfecting 2% BHA Liquid Exfoliator
this is by far the best product I’ve ever used. My skin looks smoother and my acne has subsided tremendously. I can’t get enough of this. (I use it twice a week, working up to three). I really do believe this product is essential for clearer skin! CeraVe - Daily Moisturizing Lotion For Normal To Dry Skin
this moisturizer has been my go to for about 5 years. It always keeps my skin hydrated and really helped when I was on acne prescriptions because my skin would always get really dry. Curology - Curology formula
I have a whole post dedicated to this, but it really did help me a lot. I like having dermatologist prescriptions over other treatments. So, this was a great option for me and worked wonders! CeraVe - Hydrating Face Cleanser For Normal To Dry Skin
I used to use the harshest face washed out there and strip my skin completely. This cleanser really helped me repair my moisture barrier and was gentle. My skin started looking really good after about 12 uses of this. The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1%
this stuff is a miracle in a bottle!! My face is way less sensitive and my oils are under control. The redness from my acne subsides with the help of this product and I find it to help my acne heal and become smaller faster. Kate Somerville - EradiKate Acne Treatment
this treatment really helped me when I had minimal breakouts. This dried out my pimples over night and helped them go away faster. This was a really nice treatment and I plan on using it again when my face is clearer and I no longer feel the need to continue curology!!

How I Cleared My Acne in 3 MONTHS!!!
I‘ve struggled with cystic hormonal acne for years, but when I was diagnosed with breast cancer this summer, I didn’t imagine I’d experience the worst breakout of my 27 years of life... I was so overwhelmed and stressed, that I honestly forgot all about my skincare until it looked like this! And just like breast cancer, cystic acne hurts physically and mentally, but I had to regain control. I couldn’t control what was happening to me, but I could refocus, change my perspective, and restart my skincare routine 😅 Then I was gifted this medically personalized product to try and this is was my three month progress! 👏🏼✨ It’s different for everyone, but I noticed a difference in my skin after 4 weeks of consistent use. I’d say, it’s definitely worth a try, so I’ll leave a link to a 1-month trial for $4.95! http://curolo.gy/RebeccaSantos (No, I don’t get commission or any form of payment for this post or if you use my link.) 2020 empties and new goodies!!
here are all of my 2020 empties!!! i went ahead and categorized them by brand so that i dont get things mixed up. etude house ——————— ETUDE - SoonJung pH6.5 Whip Cleanser my favorite fungal acne safe cleanser!! its perfect for dry combo skin! ETUDE - Etude House SoonJung pH 5.5 Relief Toner a great fungal acne safe hydrating toner! better for dry skin, it would sometimes leave me oily at the end of the day. drunk elephant ————————— DRUNK ELEPHANT - B-Hydra Intensive Hydration Serum although this serum isn’t fungal acne safe, my skin seems to enjoy it. it has a gel texture and actually regulates my oily forehead DRUNK ELEPHANT - Lala Retro Whipped Cream another non fungal acne safe products. BUT doesn’t cause me to have breakouts!! its a thicc cream but doesn’t leave me feeling oily!! DRUNK ELEPHANT - Protini Polypeptide Cream Deluxe Sample again... not fungal acne safe but STILL didn’t cause me to have any breakouts!! the protini feels similar in terms of thickness and the over all feeling on the skin but it feels more “ wearable “ first aid beauty ————————— FIRST AID BEAUTY - Ultra Repair Oil-Control Moisturizer i was super excited to tey this out because the ingredients are fungal acne safe and the claims were ideal for my skin type but sadly i was disappointed 😞 it didn’t control my oil but rather left mw with this shine on my forehead! and it didn’t moisture my dry cheeks. epic fail FIRST AID BEAUTY - Hello FAB Coconut Water Cream this is a very basic fungal acne safe moisturizer i recommend to literally every one. i do like it and all but i find my skin still breaking out while i use this product. i would give it a 3 1/2 stars but i cant. CUROLOGY!!!! ———————— Curology - Curology formula Curology - Curology formula if you have fungal acne THIS is the treatment you NEED to try!!! my holy grail!! naturium ————— NATURIUM - Marine Hyaluronic Water Cream NATURIUM - Marine Hyaluronic Water Cream technically this moisturizer isn’t fungal acne safe because it contains polysorbate HOWEVER its one of the last ingredients listed so its not likely to have any affect. this is my FAVORITE MOISTURIZER!!! super affordable and feels luxurious and its amazing on my combo skin NATURIUM - Niacinamide Serum 12% Plus Zinc 2% my favorite fungal acne safe niacinamide serum!!! its affordable and it does exactly what it claims to do. literally cant get any better than this other lonely products ————————————- boscia - Green Tea Oil-Free Moisturizer this is a fungal acne safe moisturizer however its not very good at moisturizing or controlling oil 😕 but the packaging is cute i guess

UPDATE — FOREHEAD BUMPS
So it has definitely calmed down a bit! It’s just these little bumps now...I also switched my shampoo/conditioner and that cleared all the bumps I had on my hairline! (if i wouldn’t taken a picture in this lighting for my previous post it would’ve looked much much worse lol) What I’ve been using CeraVe - Foaming Facial Cleanser For Normal To Oily Skin — been using this all over my face and it’s been working well! the hydrating one made me break out all over my face so I’m happy this one isn’t! CeraVe - Daily Moisturizing Lotion For Normal To Dry Skin - i like this a lot more than the cream The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% — reaaaallly helped with how much oil my skin was producing! I’ve seen a huge difference in the last couple of days! The Ordinary - Glycolic Acid 7% Toning Solution — ive only used this twice, i just dabbed it onto my forehead, not all over my face, and i also think it helps a little! I still can’t figure out if this is fungal or not. Up close they look like blackheads/closed comedomes and I’ve read that fungal can’t be popped but I think a derm could extract them bc they look like blackheads. They also don’t itch at all. I put a Nizoral mask on for 5 minutes tonight so I’m curious if that does anything or not! I also bought The Ordinary - AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solutionbut I’m scared to use it...does anybody think it would help? Any suggestions??? TY!

No-Makeup Monday! (and a guide to hormonal acne)
I'm very proud of my skin right now considering I'm on my period and extremely hormonal. Of course the texture is THERE and REAL. (The lighting is just good.) On my period I usually get whiteheads on my nose & chin, painful mild acne on my hairline, & small annoying texture alllll over my cheeks. Which I AM experiencing, but I've been keeping under control better then ever! Do you experience hormonal acne? ⬇️ DON'T PICK, SQUEEZE, OR POP (or just keep it to a minimum) I get it, it's tempting, and our anxiety can get to us. Honestly, in my opinion, sometimes it's harmless. I removed a blackhead yesterday and immediately took the precautions afterwards. But I used to sit in front of my mirror for so long just picking at my entire face. Until I would step back and cry because my skin looked so ruined, red, and inflammed. I would cancel any plans I had coming up and dwell in my room. Get enough SLEEP! 💤 A good sleep schedule is so important for your skin, and not just when you're on your period. (But it definitely does help.) I've been on vacation and getting more sleep then normal. I've definitely noticed a difference in my skin! Keep your hair out of your face! 🚫 I never realized how much I could control the texture on my cheeks by just keeping my hair up & away from my face. It minimizes irritation and the spread of bacteria so much! Wash/switch out your pillowcases! 🛏 On my period I try to switch out my pillowcases after 2 consecutive uses. So every other night. I've noticed a huge difference in my hormonal acne by doing this. When i'm not on my period I switch them out every week. (or at least I try to.) But your pillowcase collects so much bacteria, even from your hair! And I definitely don't want my hair grease & products transferring onto my skin the next night. Don't overexfoliate or overuse treatments!⚠️ This was one of my biggest mistakes in the past, especially when on my period. I would go crazy on acids to try to clear up my skin. It's better to keep it consistent, or even go easier on your skin. Typically I do some kind of exfoliating every night, switching out between BHA and AHA's. So I use BHA about 3 times a week and AHA about 3 times a week. (And in the morning a vitamin C.) But this week, a few nights I used my COSRX - Advanced Snail 96 Mucin Power Essence And my La Roche Posay Toleriane fluide Oil free Moisturizer, and called it good. (A review about this moisturizer coming soon!) Other products that I love for my hormonal acne ⬇️ REN CLEAN SKINCARE - Ready Steady Glow Daily AHA Toner FARMACY - Deep Sweep elta md SKINCARE - UV Clear Broad Spectrum SPF 46 DRUNK ELEPHANT - B-Hydra Intensive Hydration Serum FOREO - LUNA Mini 2 Facial Cleansing Brush Fuchsia The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% Kate Somerville - EradiKate Acne Treatment CeraVe - Acne Foaming Cream Face Cleanser for Sensitive Skin

Night Time Routine!
This is the routine I use when I want my skin to GLOW! I first cleanse with the TATCHA - Pure One Step Camellia Oil Cleanser and then the YOUTH TO THE PEOPLE - Superfood Antioxidant Cleanser . This was my last use of that cleanser and I won’t be repurchasing (see my other post for why). On this night I then used the Dr. Jart+ - Ceramidin Facial Mask which I have fallen IN LOVE with. I got the whole “Ceremide” line in a holiday set and it’s bomb! Next was The Ordinary - Retinol 0.5% in Squalane , I’ve just started using this retinol but it’s a hit, I use it 2-3 times a week. After I use the Kate Somerville - DeliKate Recovery Cream which has been amazing for my dry skin. I had a couple blemishes so my last step was the Kate Somerville - EradiKate Acne Treatment which I’m also in love with. Hope you enjoyed this post and have a great night!☺️

My “Ordinary” Journey
My skincare routine needed a revamp but I didn’t know where to start. I wanted to use products with good ingredients but I know many companies “green wash” to make you believe all their ingredients are great. I did lots of research and decided to give The Ordinary a try. A little background on my skin: I have aging skin (I’m pushing 38) and it’s been on the dryer side since having kids. I also tend to get peri-oral dermatitis every winter. Then of course, I still get occasional breakouts! Yay hormones 😜 In September, as I was running out of my current skincare products, I replaced them with The Ordinary. I chose HONEST - Gentle Gel Cleanser as I didn’t want anything to harsh or stripping on my dry skin. After I cleanse, I mist my face with HERITAGE STORE - Rosewater Spray then apply The Ordinary - Matrixyl* 10% + HA Because this contains HA, it should be applied to damp skin. On top of that I apply The Ordinary - "Buffet" + Copper Peptides 1% I gave this 4 stars because it’s sooooo sticky and takes a while to dry down before I can move to my next step. After that drys, I go for The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% I may not have clear skin all of the time, but when I do get blemishes, they clear up very quickly. This stuff is amazing! I follow that with The Ordinary - Natural Moisturizing Factors + HA and COOLA - Classic Full Spectrum 360 Sun Silk Drops SPF 30 Since starting this routine, my skin looks so much better when I apply makeup and when I don’t wear any, My skin tone much more even. And this year, as winter approached, I did not develop peri-oral dermatitis. My skin retains moisture so much better than it ever has.

Glow Recipe Niacinamide: Dewy, lovely, worth it?
I LOVE Niacinamide, and am not unfamiliar with Glow Recipes products. I have been quite the fan of their Watermelon line (sleeping mask is a fav), especially during the summertime. Throughout the cold season I’ve been loving their Banana Soufflé Moisture Cream. I am actively using their Plum Plump Serum as well. However, their products are $$. I received some as gifts on my birthday, but bit the bullet to purchase Plum Plump and the Banana Soufflé after sampling them and falling in love. Overall, though, I don’t feel that I’ve wasted my money, despite their price range. For me, it was worth it. So what about their newest product? GLOW RECIPE - Watermelon Glow Niacinamide Dew Drops Well, as with all their products, it’s a bit pricey, retailing for 34 USD. It smells like fresh watermelon, just like the rest of their line, and the packaging is aesthetically pleasing being frosted glass, and fully recyclable. I also want to recognize the fresh ingredients they use, that their products are vegan, cruelty free, and sustainably sourced. But all that being said, for 34 USD, is it worth it? I’ve been using The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% on and off for quite some time now. I give it 4 stars because it can be quite tacky on the skin, and doesn’t really leave me glowing per say; BUT, it’s a reliable, affordable, effective product. It does it’s job fading discoloration while brightening, and the added zinc helps control and heal breakouts. It retails for 5.90 USD at Sephora, so there’s a huge price difference between these two products, and the Ordinary’s is so accessible when you’re on a budget, which I love. So what are my final thoughts? I personally hadn’t planned on purchasing the Dew drops, as I couldn’t justify the price especially when I already had The Ordinary’s serum. Well, my sis purchased it for me for Christmas, so naturally I’ve been using it and had to review the Dew drops. I haven’t been using it long enough to see if it makes a difference in brightening my skin as the Ordinary does over time, but it definitely makes me glow. The formula is so silky, a gel-serum it spreads like a dream, and I love to mix it w/Plum Plump serum and then apply. It leaves me with such a dewy result that I have to admit...I love it. It’s never tacky when I’m done patting it in, and it layers perfectly with the rest of my products. The drops aren’t eplacement for highlighter or makeup, and adding it over makeup on high points of the face made it feel tacky. So don’t expect that. But as a base when you’re prepping your skin for makeup, Its lovely. My skin looks lit within whenever I use it. Is it necessary? No, it’s definitely a luxury product IMO. If you can drop the $$ on it, then treat yourself! But if you’re looking for results on a budget, this product is just not necessary when a tried and true like The Ordinary WILL get the job done. 💕

Help!!
Help!!
Im 18 and I’ve been struggling with teenage and hormonal acne for around a year now, I just started getting cystic acne around March!! I do a lot of exercise and whenever I sweat all my makeup starts to run and my red blemished face is on show to everyone to see! I watch SKINCAREBYHYRAM so I do know my skincare. But I would still like some help to get rid of my redness and irritation! Ps. I always pick at my face and I need help/tips on stopping that! Here’s what I’ve been using recently: LA ROCHE-POSAY - Micellar Cleansing Water Ultra and Makeup Remover - does a good job removing makeup LA ROCHE-POSAY - Effaclar Purifying Foaming Gel Cleanser for Oily Skin - I love this cleanser, it gets all the gunk and oil out but isn’t too stripping - fragrance free yay! The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% - A must have! - Calms my redness a bit and helps/stops excess oil production The Ordinary - Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5 - Helps control oil production - leaves my skin feeling hydrated OLE HENRIKSEN - Counter Balance Oil Control Hydrator - Never leaves me oily - Sometimes I have to add a different moisturizer for the dry patches because its very mattifying CeraVe - PM Facial Moisturizing Lotion - Simple and gentle - Very hydrating sometimes I wake up oily in T-zone PAULA'S CHOICE - Skin Perfecting 2% BHA Liquid Exfoliator - Use at night - evens skin texture - bye bye black heads! PAULA'S CHOICE - Clear Extra Strength Daily Skin Clearing Treatment - Benzol Peroxide gets rid of large under the skin bumps before they turn into cystic acne - Dries EVERYTHING so moisturizer is a must! COSRX - Cosrx Acne Pimple Master Patch - Life saver when I got a big ass white head in the middle of my forehead, shrinks them down over night - Helps heal the spots that I’ve picked (oopsie) - Stops me from picking during the night time Dr. PAWPAW - Ultimate Red - Favourite lip balm Okay so I think I do a pretty solid job at skincare, I’m just really guilty of picking😤☹️ Need some help with that!!!

HELP FUNGAL ACNE / SCARRING
Hello everyone, I downloaded this app in hopes that some of you who have experienced this or are currently going through the same situation could help me! I have been struggling with hormonal acne for 3 years now after getting off birth control and it developed into fungal acne around last year. I have had MAJOR improvement with my skin in comparison to what it was a couple of years ago but I am still not where I want to be. For some reason, my left cheek seems to be my trouble area as shown in the picture! I have no active breakouts on my face other than this section. My current skincare routine goes as follows: COSRX - Low PH Good Morning Gel Cleanser COSRX - BHA Blackhead Power LiquidCOSRX - Advanced Snail 96 Mucin Power EssenceCeraVe - Moisturizing Cream For Normal To Dry SkinThe Ordinary - 100% Plant-Derived Squalane Kate Somerville - EradiKate Acne Treatment Please let me know if you have any recommendations for me!

My PM routine for acne breakouts 💖
My PM routine for acne breakouts 💖
I have combination skin and like to switch up my routine based on my skin’s needs. Recently, i have been breaking out around my forehead and nose. I thought I would share tonight’s routine! I began by washing my face in the shower with CeraVe - Hydrating Facial Cleanser I love using this cleanser when I don’t have makeup to wash off and I plan on using retinols or other harsh treatments later on in my routine. This cleanser is so gentle on my skin! After showering and washing my face, I applied DIFFERIN - DIFFERIN Acne Treatment Gel to my forehead and nose as these tend to be my problem areas for breakouts. I followed up with The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% on my cheeks. Finally, I used CeraVe - PM Facial Moisturizing Lotion I love this moisturizer and use it every night as it fits in with any routine because it is so hydrating but not too goopy or oily like many other nightly moisturizers sit in my skin. I tend to use a retinoids about every three nights as I have found with trial and error this timing works best for me. Oh nights I don’t use a retinoid, I will focus on other skin concerns or keep it simple with just cleansing and moisturizing. I tend not to use high percentage niacinamide serums in the same routine as a retinoid but if I do I use them to target separate areas of my skin. I had read a probably about a year ago not to mix niacinmide with retinoids. However, I’ve been seeing the past couple months that they make a great pair. Anyone have any thoughts on using niacinamide with adapalene or other retinoids? I just feel like I keep seeing conflicting information in my own research. I am already always hesitant with using multiple treatment steps in my routine and try to keep each routine relatively minimal.

Need Help!
Hello fellow skincare addicts, i wanted you all to look at my routine. I have combination skin but at times it’s oily and at times it’s dry. It’s usually dry during winter and oily during summer due to weather. I’m in australia so need products that i can get here and are not to pricey Morning Routine CeraVe - Hydrating Facial Cleanser I first wash my face with the cerave hydrating cleanser. I absolutely love it and it works super well for my skin The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% Then i apply this ordinary serum which i’m not convinced on yet (been using it for two months now) and should i apply this only once or twice a day? The Ordinary - 100% Plant-Derived Squalane Then i apply this serum which again i’m not to sure on? let me know what you guys think BENZAC - Moderate Strength 5% Acne Gel I then apply this acne gel to my acne which i don’t think really helps me that much. Any recommendations that are not to pricey? CeraVe - AM Facial Moisturizing Lotion SPF 30 I then finish with the cerave am facial lotion. I’m not convinced on this either because it’s quite oily any other recommendations of creams with SPF Night Routine CeraVe - Hydrating Facial Cleanser like morning just wash my face with it The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% BENZAC - Moderate Strength 5% Acne Gel The Ordinary - Natural Moisturizing Factors + HA not sure on this product. it leaves my skin quite dry and unhydrated. Also not good value for money as it runs out fast. Any recommendations? sometimes: L'ORÉAL - Pure Clay Cleanser Exfoliate & Refine i use this 2-3 times a week and it leaves my skin feeling super soft and my blackheads gone i have quite dark eye circles so are there any eye creams i could use? any recommendations for good moisturisers (one with sunscreen and one without), acne gel or products in general , eye creams
