Life in PLASTIC is not fantastic 🙄
CLINIQUE - Take The Day Off Cleansing Balm used to be my ride or die. I used this nightly as my first cleanse. A few months ago, @skincareyhyram ’s YouTube channel popped up under a list of recommended videos. Hyram burst my love affair with this product. This balm is formulated with polyethylene - plastic. This ingredient helps give this product slip so that the hands glide over the face. However, this plastic is washed down our drains when we rinse our face, and it makes it way into our river, lakes, and oceans. This ingredient is detrimental to the health fresh water and marine wildlife. There are other cleaning balms that aren’t formulated with this ingredient, and I plan on purchasing one of these when I finish the products (2 full size & 1 mini) that I have in back stock. It’d be wasteful as well as harmful to the environment if I just threw them out. It works really well, but I feel guilty using products that I know are causing harm to water sources and the animals that live in them.

Luxury Eye Makeup
Natasha Denona’s Metropolis palette is the most unique palette: from the color compilation to her formulas. She introduced a new formula in the Metropolis palette: a cream to powder. I’ve found that using a dense brush with this formula gives the maximum amount of color pay off! It’s hard to find a palette that is practically perfect - this one is one of the best! I love reaching for this palette because I know that my shadow will still be on my eye, crease free, at the end of my day!

Sailor Moon x Colourpop
There’s something so enchanting about pastel colors; they’re soft and whimsical. The softness of the color, however, can sometimes make pastel shadows nearly impossible to see. Palettes that focus on pastels can either fall flat or they can be stunning. Colourpop’s palette collaboration with Sailor Moon, the Pretty Guardian, is an example of a pastel palette done right! The colors show up on a range of skintones - fair to deep. The color story is perfect for the upcoming spring and summer! I’ve already created gorgeous soft, colorful looks with this palette. Colourpop created a palette that immediately inspires creativity upon opening it! I am looking forward to 🥰

This is my all-time, holy grail, ride or die serum...and I’m out 😭 Here’s a brief overview of my skin before I get into the product review: My skin is not problematic; I get a breakout during ‘that time’ of the month and I have a wee bit of redness in my cheek area. My skin is however incredibly, painfully dry. I can’t use anything that isn’t suitable for dry skin bc, if I do, my skin will feel like it going to crack. The Glass Skin Refining Serum ($39) created by Peach and Lily, is serum that I use every 👏🏻 single 👏🏻 day. I’m seriously bummed that I cannot go out an repurchase this atm. The cocktail of ingredients is amazing for people with incredibly dry skin - it is good for all skin types though. ✨ This serum has a hyaluronic acid complex that draws in hydration and deeply hydrates every single layer of my skin by using long-chain, medium-chain, and short chain hyaluronic acid. ✨ Peach and Lily included niacinamide; an ingredient used to reduce inflammation in the skin. Niacinamide, because it reduces inflammation, is a really amazing ingredient for people with ance-prone skin It’s also and antioxidant, so it’s also a wonderful anti-aging ingredient. When I use this product, my skin glows brighter and my skin feels bouncier! My skin drinks it up! I am constantly trying new skincare products, and I very rarely repurchase unless I am absolutely obsessed. This will be one of the first things purchase once quarantine lifts!

🥥 Coconut Fantasy 🥥
The Marc Jacob’s Eye-conic Coconut Fantasy palette was my first soirée with luxury cosmetics. It was my prized possession; the palette I reached for every single day. I had used high end makeup before - I was working at Sephora - but this was the first luxury piece I’d ever introduced into my collection. The colors were/are stunning! However, I’ve found that the formula is pretty average. I can find similar quality in other lower priced brands (Urban Decay, Morphe, etc.) It’s gorgeous, but it’s not worth the hefty price tag, in my opinion.

If I could only have one palette for the rest of my life, I would choose the Tati Beauty Textured Neutrals Vol. 1. This is hands down my absolute favorite palette. . . . I’m here for the mattes. I’m here for the sequins. I’m here for the Metallica. I’m hella here for the glitters. . . . This is a palette that every 👏🏻 single 👏🏻 person needs! It’s the perfect neutral palette. It’s my ride or die. It’s the peanut butter to my jelly. This is always on the top of my vanity because I reach into for almost every single look that I do. If you don’t have it - get it!

Battle of the balms...
So I’ve finally been able to try out two other cleansing balms other than my usual go to, FARMACY - Green Clean Makeup Removing Cleansing Balm First up DRUNK ELEPHANT - Slaai Makeup-Melting Butter Cleanser What I liked: * very gentle and effective cleanser * option to add exfoliating powder * no scent * fairly easy to remove with just water What I don’t like: * needed more to get an effective cleanse than other product tested Overall, I enjoyed it and if Green Clean wasn’t available I’d definitely use Slaai. Next BANILA CO - Clean It Zero Cleansing Balm Original What I liked: * no scent * price point What I didn’t like: * took a lot of product to effectively cleanse * left residue after rinsing with water, a cloth is needed to remove it all This definitely came in 3rd as it just doesn’t compare for me with the other two. And my favorite FARMACY - Green Clean Makeup Removing Cleansing Balm What I liked: * the fresh scent (had me hooked after first use and I typically don’t like scent in my products) * only need a small amount to effectively cleanse * comes of easily with water * no irritation to eyes What I didn’t like: * Zero complaints! Green Clean, not surprisingly, takes the win for me. 🏆 I’ve been a fan of it for a year now and nothing can replace it. I definitely was biased coming it to this as it’s had my heart for so long, but I have been eager to test other balms to see if they compare. Again, I’d choose Slaai if Green Clean wasn’t available. It’s definitely a good contender.
