Modified Curly Girl Method | Frizzy Hair to Perfect Wavy Hair
My hair type: fine, high-density 2a-c waves The Curly Girl method is an approach of washing and styling wavy and curly hair to achieve softer, more defined, and healthier curls and waves. It is useful for anyone with wavy and curly hair. I was determined to try CGM since last July after seeing lots of successful cases. I tried different lines, types of products, styling methods, and techniques, finally figured out what worked for my hair. Modified CGM for my wavy hair 1. Rinse or co-wash with a sulfate-free shampoo. 2. Use a silicone-free conditioner for conditioning, then use a leave-in conditioner. 3. Apply a silicone-free styling product to wet hair to promote curl formation. 4. Use a microfiber towel or cotton T-shirt to remove water from the hair. 5. Do not touch your hair, let it dry into a hard cast. 6. Scrunch out the cast, allow the curls to sit in their defined natural state. Basic rules of CGM No sulfates No drying alcohols No silicones No heat styling Share my CGM with you, but I definitely know different hair may have various concerns, so I hope it would be helpful for you.

For curly girls！6 tips you can stick to！
Recently, my curly hair has become frizzy and I am looking for some methods to improve my hair condition. I asked for advise from my friends and did some research on how to treat my curly hair in summer. Today I’d like to go through some essential practices to ensure that our curls love summer too. Hope these tips are helpful to you🥰! 1. Use SPF! A Summer Curly Hair Care Essential Curly hair naturally has a tendency to be drier than other hair types and this means that we need to be extra careful! So we can use products which contain UV protectors for hair and we can factor (no pun intended 😉) these into our summer curly hair care routine. 2. Moisture and treatments – go all out on the conditioner in Summer! First wash your hair, then apply the mask generously through the mid-lengths and ends. Apply a low heat with a hairdryer. The heat from the dryer enhances the absorption of the deep conditioner. Then rinse the deep conditioner off and style as usual. You can also pre-poo with an oil to moisturize. 3. Minimize heat! If you will still be heat-styling your hair in the summer it is more important than ever to use a heat-protection product. Protect your curls as much as possible from the damaging effects of a heated tool and always use a diffuser on the lowest heat setting. 4. Wash with care! Using a good shampoo that won’t damage your curly hair is crucial. Sulphate-free shampoos may not lather up as much as other shampoos but they will still cleanse your hair effectively and are well worth investing in. 5. Humidity! Humidity causes frizz! There are some anti-frizz/humidity products which don’t contain silicones. Some of these are called anti-humectants – meaning that they actually repel water away from your hair. These should be used sparingly, however, as extended use can dry air out. 6. Don’t stress! Don’t let worrying about your curly hair stand in the way of enjoying summer. Curly hair isn’t meant to be perfect 😉 Don’t be afraid of a little frizz and enjoy! A great summer curly hair care routine will really make a difference. Don’t forget to moisturise your hair, use great products and, if in doubt, cover up those gorgeous curls! Do you have any tips for curly hair? Share with me!
Curly Hairstyle Routine
For reference, I have type 3A curls and thin hair! This before picture is how my hair looks after going to the beach and after not washing it for 3 days. This is my routine for prepping my hair for any type of activity immediately after I wash it. I’ve already provided information on the shampoo and conditioner that I use, so be sure to check that post and the curly hair tips posts for further details that will help during the washing process. When I’m done with my hair washing, I proceed by adding the aussie - Miracle Curls with Coconut Oil Paraben Free Detangling Milk Treatment . For a more thorough review on that product, please take a look at my previous posts. Following this, I proceed to by brushing my hair with Wet brush - Original Detangler . This is a MUST is you have curly hair and want to avoid losing excess hair. Plus, it is SUPER CHEAP. The Intelliflex Bristles are firm yet soft and covered with SofTips. The bristles are firm enough to pull through the tangles, yet they’re soft enough not to get caught and rip through the hair. It has helped me reduce the amount of time when it comes to detangling and the amount of pain I used to go through. Just remember to always start from the tips and work your way to the top when brushing. I then proceed by wrapping my hair with a cotton t-shirt to help lock the moisture. Depending on how my day goes, I sometimes leave it longer, but generally I leave it on for 20-30 minutes. Then I proceed with the actual hairstyling using a diffuser. CONAIR - InfinitiPRO 1875 Watt AC Pro Hair Dryer Rose Gold Using this hair dryer has accelerated and simplified my hairstyle process! It is pretty affordable and has both ceramic and ionic technology. Ceramic technology is what releases non-damaging infrared heat to your hair, while ionic technology works by using electrons to break the water molecules and, thus, allows the hair to dry faster and more hydrated while reducing frizz. In addition to this, it has a cool setting AND cold setting, which are the ones that I use when I’m styling. DON’T DRY USING THE WARM OR HOT SETTINGS! While this hair dryer does a GREAT job at preventing damage with its technology, hair styling regularly with warm or hot settings diminish the levels of moisture that your hair is able to retain, so you wan’t to avoid that as much as possible. It also comes with a diffuser, so you don’t have to buy one. I finish by adding hairspray. aussie - Sun Touched Shine Hairspray I know many shy away from hairsprays for various reasons, but hear me out. I avoid at all costs mousse and gels, which tend to be much more harmful than hairsprays. Besides, this is ONE OF A KIND. It has UV PROTECTION, JOJOBA OIL, & SEA KELP. There’s no way that this harms your hair. Just avoid soaking your hair in it and you’ll see WONDERS! And VOILÁ! The results are clearly seen with the after picture!

I hate its price, but I can't live without it...
Ouidad - Advanced Climate Control Heat & Humidity Gel $75/ 33.8 oz I had brittle curly hair for a long time and my best friend recommended this to me several months ago. She is also a curly girl. At first I didn't expect what changes it would bring to me. But now I have to say, I will definitely rebuy it! For me, consistent results are what I’m looking for in a product. This gel is giving me consistent 2nd, 3rd & 4th day good hair. I just wet my hair in the morning, arrange my hair the way I want it and let it dry. I might leave my hair as is or when dry, fluff the roots to get rid on the “gel” look. I use it in conjunction with other products but this is my base. I always mix this with a leave in conditioner. Thin in consistency so it's easy to work through hair without disturbing the curl pattern. It leaves my curls shiny, defined and frizz free. Adding too much will weigh my hair down and take out some volume. I like volume so I add a moderate amount and lightly scrunch to take out the crunch after it's dry. I have been using it for several months and will continue forever.Don't be afraid to use quite a bit on each section of hair, I do section my hair as I have a TON! My curls stay fairly frizz free, I wash only about 2 times a week, my curls don't need more than that. My curly hair is never better than when I use them. This is a great product and I hope every curly girl could have one! You can get a travel size set to try them cheaper.

How to straighten curly hair without chemicals? My secret is...
I used to have fizzy curly hair, and I looked for some methods about how to minimize the damage when straigtening my curly hair. You can see from the picture that the result is not bad😜 I'm going to show you several easy steps. 1. Wash your hair The first thing you need to prepare is a frizz-fighting shampoo and conditioner, and I recommend L'ORÉAL - EverPure Sulfate Free Frizz-Defy Shampoo L'ORÉAL - EverPure Sulfate Free Frizz-Defy Conditioner. They cost about $30. 2. Use a thermal protectant When you’re about to blow out your hair, something that is an absolute must is thermal heat protectant. Before you pick up your blow-dryer, you need to prep your damp strands with a heat protectant spray. As we all know that heat can be damaging to hair of all types, which is why it’s crucial to use a heat protectant beforehand—regardless of your hair type. Before blow dry, just spray onto hair in sections and brush through to make sure it’s evenly distributed. 3. Choose the right dryer A great hair-dryer can minimize potential blowout damage, and it is the most basic thing you should prepare at first. Look on the website or ask your friends and trying to figure out which one works best for you requires. 4. Buy the right hair straightener The most important part is to choose the right flat iron. I do recommend GHD ORIGINAL IV PROFESSIONAL STYLER. It heats in just 30 seconds. 185ºC is perfect for all your hair styling needs and will not cause significant damage. But you can choose other hair straighteners according to your budget. The following tips you should remember: Using a good quality hair straightener 5. Add hairspray/oil You could apply some in the form of a hairspray however, I prefer to apply a mixture of essential oil with a carrier oil. That's my way of straightening curly hair without chemicals. I hope you guys will like this tutorial! If you have any questions, comment down below!
