My Experience and Review of NYX Matte Lip Creams
NYX - Soft Matte Metallic Lip Cream If I had to choose which lipstick I would use for the rest of my life. NYX Soft Matte Lip Creams are where it’s at. I’ve been using NYX Soft Matte Lip Creams since high school and I’m still SO obsessed with them! I feel like I’ve tried many other matte lipsticks from brands like Colourpop, Kylie Cosemetics, HudaBeauty and more, but I always come back to NYX. They have such a large colorway from a variety of shades of nudes and pinks to more outgoing colors like purple and black! NYX is also a drugstore brand so you can find them at your local Target, Ulta, and more! They’re super creamy and blendable and it’s not drying at all (unlike other matte lipsticks). That being said, they do rub off quite a bit, but that’s a trade off you’re going to have to accept if you don’t want a super drying lipstick. However, this product is buildable sooo if you want a more matte look, just put a ton of layers on and it’s pretty much the same as a regular matte lipstick! I know this because that’s what I used to do back in high school when I wanted a really vibrant lip. It’s easy to take off too which is something I love because I hate it when I have to rub off my lipstick with makeup remover! And not only are these lippies super high quality, they’re also super adorable too! At only $6.50 each, you can build up your makeup collection pretty easily! I always bring a tube with me wherever I go and it brings some color back to my look. My go-to colors are “Abu Dhabi” (a nude color) and “Zurich” (a more pinkish color). I’m wearing Zurich in the photo btw! I definitely recommend this product whether you’re just a beginner or someone that has been doing makeup for your whole life.

Liquid Lipsticks That Last Thru Dinner & Dessert
Liquid lipsticks were allllll the rage a couple years ago. Though that’s not the vibe of the beauty scene right now, liquid lipsticks are awesome to have in your collection for longevity purposes. Big date, heading into work, or wedding to go to and need something to last through sipping beverages and eating? Long-lasting liquid lipsticks are perfect for these! I have no shortage of liquid lipsticks in my collection, but these ones in particular are formulas I recommend. I pulled a few to swatch and “model” in staple colors that I wear often. SEPHORA COLLECTION - Cream Lip Stain Liquid Lipstick in shades 13 “marvelous mauve” (mauve) and 01 “always red” (mini, true red) have been in my collection for several years. Don’t come for me - they don’t smell and the formula still works great! This collection has almost 100 shades, so there’s something for EVERYONE. I have owned other shades in the past and have 1 or 2 others still around. The mousse-y formula is lightweight, comfortable, and doesn’t dry out my lips too much. They do leave behind a bit of a stain when they fade, which I like. $15 full size. Some available in sets. MAYBELLINE - SuperStay Matte Ink Liquid Lipstick in the shade “seductress” is a consistent go-to shade for me. It’s a nude with hint of peach that goes with so many different makeup looks. This formula can be quite drying and difficult to remove, so I suggest applying a good lip balm and choosing a nude shade or else you’ll be scrubbing your lips all night trying to remove deeper shades (unless you don’t mind this). The lasting power is awesome (8+ hours)! Once my lips feel dry I apply a gloss on top and I’m good to go for even longer. These range for $9-11 depending where you purchase them. DOSE OF COLORS - DOSE OF COLORS Liquid Matte Lipstick in the shade “warm & fuzzy” is another go-to of mine. It’s a warm peachy/pinky nude. I have 2 or 3 other shades, as well. The formula is very thin (yet super opaque) and comfortable. Not quite as long-wearing as the other lippies in this post but still good (about 5 hours before some fading). DOC lippies are sometimes on sale at Ulta or on their website, so I recommend picking up a shade or two during a sale, though the quality is totally worth full price at $18 each. Note: Sephora Collection and Maybelline are not considered cruelty-free. I do only purchase from cruelty-free brands myself, but wanted to share these anyways. #CheriePartner

Best Drugstore Dupes for Lip Stains
Some of us are either staying indoors most of the time now or if we’re outdoors, we are wearing face masks outdoors. It is inevitable for we take shortcuts with our make-up now. Even though I’m indoors more than ever, I still like to apply a layer of lip stain at home to allow myself to look more put together before I start the day. I favor lip stains more than lipsticks now as lip stains are generally liquid or water-based gels and feels lighter on the lips. Compared to a lipstick, the lightweight liquid color serves as softer veils of color on your lips, making it more casual for daily home use. I like how they are designed to give lips a perfectly imperfect hint of color. I am already a habitual lip balm user so although a lip stain can be drying, I use one in conjunction with a moisturizing lip balm. The humble drugstore also provides great affordable options for good lip stains that do the job well. One of my favorites is L.A. Girl Lip Plumper Tinted. I am using shade Tickled, a clear jelly that adds a hydrating sheen to my lips. It also adds a natural pucker worthy look thanks to its tingling formula which may be too apparent for some people. However, I like how I can apply it on its own or layer over another lip color for a long-lasting plumping effect. Another lip stain that has been in my make-up bag is L’oreal Infallible Pro-Matte Liquid Lipstick. Touting the matte effect on lips instead gloss, the product is L'Oreal's first “up to 16 hour” matte liquid lipstick. It gives an overall relatively high pigment shade than lip glosses without wearing off as quickly. It feels comfortable and creamy on the lips without over-drying. A thin layer is all you need for a natural color for hours. I love the shape of the applicator that makes it easy to shape and add dimension to lips. For those sensitive to scents, this lip stain has no funky smell.
You won’t believe it’s a $6 Maybelline lipstick
I am not a big fan of crayon lipsticks but this one really changed my mind. It’s Maybelline’s SuperStay Ink Crayon Lipstick. It’s on sale, only $6 now.... The pigmentation is crazy good. It’s a crayon so it’s between lip liner and lipstick. One product for two functions. The creamy texture makes it highly pigmented and easy to apply. The color lasts for hours. Not much to complain about it. Hope this item has more nude colors for everyday use. MAYBELLINE - SuperStay Ink Crayon Lipstick

Only $5! NYX butter gloss amazingly fits me!
NYX - Butter Gloss NYX is one of my favorite drugstore makeup brands. They live up to the hype without spending an arm or a leg. This gloss at Walmart is about $5 if not more, so it's a little cheaper here. This butter gloss is a nude, shiny gloss that applies shear with a hint of color. It's not sticky and has a light vanilla/cupcake scent like a lovely baked good! I swiped it on once and loved it! I'm more of a matte lip person, but I can see myself wearing this on days I want a very easy to apply lip product. I own three colors now--Tiramisu, Crème Brulée, and Strawberry Parfait. I have cool toned light skin, and somewhat darker lips, and each of them is perfect on me in its own way. They are a little sticky, as all glosses are, but not at all the kind that jam your lips together or leave gross threads when you open your mouth. You'll know it's there, and no more. They have beautiful colors—did I mention that I want to own SO many more than I can right now?—and they are pigmented enough to wear on their own, but sheer enough to complement or alter a lipstick underneath, as well. In my opinion, that's the sweet spot for lip gloss. Crème Brulée, in particular, is a wonderful brightener for the center of the lips if you have a nude lipstick underneath; Tiramisu, on my somewhat darker natural lip color, adds a "your lips but better" tint and sheen that I can't get enough of, when worn alone, and also makes a great neutralizing topper... I'm on my third Tiramisu since I discovered it (only a year ago!not available at my local stores, so I never saw it until I heard about it online)
You're bound to like this lip stain!
L'ORÉAL - Rouge Signature Matte Liquid Lipstick I am obsessed with lip stains! Lip stains are the unsung hero of the lipstick world, which have a much more comfortable and hydrating wear than lipsticks , living your lips both looking and feeling good. They can be purchased at the drugstore for wallet-friendly prices. Recently I found one new pleasant- L'Oréal Rouge Signature Matte Lip Stain. It’s amazing in many aspects. And the point is that you can get such a great lip stain at a highly low price, about 9 dollars. I bought the shade titled I Explore in a drugstore, a lovely colour that reveals your tenderness. When I first applied it, I love it! The thin and watery formula makes me feel super light weight on my lips. The color is stunning and can give you absolutely desired color intensity. It goes on so easily and really soft at first, and I could feel it moisturizing my lips as I put it on. Once it dries, it adjusts to your skin color and looks flawless. Without the thick dry feeling, it just feels like wearing no lipstick once it’s set. Then after a couple of hours of use, it is still on there and won't fade away like other matte lipsticks . It also lasts through meals or drinks, so you don't need constant reapplication. The brush is a little differently shaped than I am used to. The applicator is very convienient as it helps shape and line lips for a precise and perfectly applied lip, without an additional need of a lip liner. Usually I will put a chapstick on, wait a few seconds then apply a second coat. But for this product, you could apply it alone without first coat, because of it’s wet enough. I can't wait to try and buy other colors!
