Bronzer VS Blush | 🦋ABG makeup look🦋
To get things started, we have to keep the differences between bronzer and blush in mind: "Bronzer is basically blush, but blush is not bronzer." Blush should be used to add warmth to the cheeks, while bronzer is used specifically to make you look tan. In a nutshell, blush is used to add a flush of color to the cheeks, while bronzer is intended to make the skin look sun-kissed or tan.✨ As a result, blush tends to come in variations of pink (sometimes with peach or plum undertones), where bronzer is typically brown or gold in color. 🦋 How they applied Blush is made to be applied directly to the apples of the cheeks and cheekbones. Bronzer can be applied both to the cheekbones and brow, jawline, and other contours of the face and décolletage. 🦋 Mood and Occasion If you’re going for a natural look, bronzer can add a hint of color and definition. Bronzer is perfect for casual weekend events, as well as more made-up evening looks, particularly those that include contouring. Blush can add a touch of softer, flushed color and is also great for daywear, but use it sparingly—blushes are often very pigmented and can go on heavy if you're not careful. Whichever you choose, keep in mind that less is more, and be sure to keep the color (whether pink or bronze) within range of your natural skin tone. Now that we’ve gone over the difference between bronzer and blush, hopefully you won’t be staring at your makeup bag in confusion any longer about which to wear. So for today’s ABG makeup look, I applied bronzer to make my chin look more strong and the face look slimmer. 🦋 Product details: PHYSICIANS FORMULA - Murumuru Butter Bronzer

Mini ulta haul with product tryouts!
I had a few Ulta gift cards burning a hole in my pocket so I decided to get a few new items to try out. The first item I’ve been dying to try is URBAN DECAY - All Nighter Long-Lasting Makeup Setting Spray I wanted to see if it’s worth the hype/price tag. I like this product, but I’d like to use it a few more times. I’m going to do another post next month comparing several different setting sprays to see how the compare. The next item I used is the MILANI - Cheek Kiss Blush in shade cheeky coral. I like the shade and it wears nicely. But I did have to layer it to get the color payoff I was looking for. I also got another cult favorite, PHYSICIANS FORMULA - Murumuru Butter Bronzer I absolutely love this product. I love the texture, the smell, the finish. It’s all great, absolutely worth the price. And the last is another eye shadow pallet from profusion! #Profusion Cosmetics - Starlet palette[products]#[FourStars] I love this palette, although the shimmer shades need a wet brush to be impactful. What other make up productions would you like to try out?

Blends well and goes on smoothly! DIOR - BACKSTAGE Glow Face Palette Hard to pick up with my brush. Doesn’t layer well over bronzer. Ended up looking muddy. ILIA - Balmy Gloss Tinted Lip Oil in Saint. I love this formula. The right amount of shine, wears well and is buildable without being gloopy. Earrings via IndigenousIntentions @ Etsy.
My Go-To Pallet gives you a Kim K-worthy contour
Who doesn't enjoy convenience? We're human. We love convenience in all shapes and sizes. Why do you think delivery apps are skyrocketing in popularity? While I love a good meal delivered to my front door, I can also appreciate an all-in-one makeup pallet. My Go-To All-In-One Face Pallet: The Kevyn Aucoin Art of Sculpting + Defining pallet is my #1 choice for a natural everyday pallet that gets the job done fast. I find myself reaching for this pallet when I know I don't have much time to spend on my day's makeup. The pallet retails for $59. Is It Worth It? For me, the creme de la creme of face pallets is the 'The Contour Book Volume II' by Keyin Aucoin. As a longtime fan of his Sculpting Powder, which gives you a Kim K-worthy contour, this pallet comes with my beloved chiseling power and a cream version, highlighters, and four eyeshadows. Altogether, you get a total of eight pans. Naturally, the face products are larger than the eyeshadows. I love almost everything in this pallet. I'm personally not the biggest eyeshadow person, so I use the shadows as an inner corner highlight instead! Plus, the darker eyeshadow shade can double as a brow powder for me. It comes with a huge mirror, too, making great for travel or minor touch-ups. There's also a handy guide that teaches you how to sculpt your cheekbones out and use the eyeshadows to naturally shape and define the eyes. Tip: I love layering the Candlelight Cream and Candlelight Powder. The subtle shimmer in the powder really makes the cream highlight pop. Plus, it makes it last longer! Final Thoughts: I love this pallet, and I ultimately think it's worth it. If not for anything else, I continue to buy this pallet for the Sculpting Powder alone. It's seriously THE BEST contour powder I've ever used.

Bronzer vs Contour: All You Need to Know
Every makeup pro needs to know the difference between bronzer and contour, especially in a world where a lot of makeup users seem to confuse the two terms. This bronzer vs contour 101 will explain how to use each product, and demonstrate the different effects each product gives. I have an oval face shape, so the exact techniques I use might need to be customised to suit your face The Difference Between Bronzer and Contour Bronzers are warm-toned cream and powder products that are used on the perimeters of the face and along the cheekbones to create softly defined, warm makeup looks. Contours, on the other hand, are cool-toned cream and powder products that are used in focused areas around the face to create a strongly defined, sculpted makeup look. The differences extend into how and where you apply each product on the face. Bronzers are best applied to the chin, the temples, the forehead, and along the cheeks. My best technique is to use a makeup brush to create a guideline from the top of your ear to the apple of your cheek. You can apply the bronzer softly along this line to lift the cheeks and add colour to the face, making you look bright and healthy. For your visual guide, see the picture of me holding the makeup brush! You can take this guideline and use it slightly differently to create a contoured look as well. Instead of following this line direcly, like you do with bronzer, you will instead apply contour underneath this line, and not take it onto the apples of the cheeks. Using contour from the middle of the ear to just behind the apples of the cheeks will simulate a natural shadow, and create a more hollowed out appearance of the cheek. This is great for highlighting your natural facial features and emphasising where the light hits your face, and creates defining shadows. You can see that my cheeks appear more defined, and the contour product creates a shadow effect, a different effect compared to the colourful glow of the bronzer. You can emphasise your contour by applying a shimmery highlighter to the high points of your face. Products I Used for Bronzer vs Contour For this demonstration, I used my current favourite drugstore palette, the Revlon Sculpt + Highlight Contour Kit, in Light/Medium. At around AUD$13, this palette is super affordable and accessible at most drugstores, and online. It has a matte, banana yellow shade for highlighting the undereyes; a light, metallic champagne shade for highlighting the high points of the face; a warm-toned matte brown shade for bronzing; and a cool-toned matte brown shade for contouring. I recently bought this product, and it is super for fair to light skin tones, and is user-friendly for beginners. I find it best to use with a dense face brush. The powder of the palette is soft and fairly creamy for a drugstore product. I recommend this product for beginners, travelling people (great compact size), and all-round makeup lovers.
“Subtle” eGirl makeup? 🤔 (she tried)
If you’re on the internet a lot like myself, chances are you’ve come across someone sporting “eGirl” makeup. What is an eGirl you might be wondering? Well, I’m not pretty sure of what the term really means.. or who would be considered an eGirl? I have so many questions lol but if we’re talking eGirl makeup then I do know the aesthetic is very similar to what emo/punk makeup was in my day, but with an “I’m baby” quality and kinda more glam? This type of makeup is often characterized by the use of soft pinks, purples, heavy winged liner, big wispy lashes, glossy lips and blushed noses ✨ I tried following a tutorial i found on Pinterest, but kind of more subtle to make it something I would personally wear out 🥰 I’ll list what I used below 💜💜 ⭐️ DIOR - Forever Skin Glow Foundation I love lightweight foundations that give me a natural finish but that I can build up in case I want a more medium coverage. This is my absolute favorite!! It’s simply amazing, it’s creamy but not heavy. ⭐️ DIOR - Forever Skin Correct Concealer eGirl always have flawless skin, so I used my favorite concealer on some areas like my under eyes, around my nose and on my chin to cover up some redness. ⭐️ COLOURPOP - Sailor Moon x Pretty Guardian Eyeshadow Palette if you’re able to get your hands on this palette I’d say get it! I think the CP Sailor Moon collection is such a polarizing one but I personally loved it. Aside from the fact that it sells out every time in like 0.3 seconds 🙃 I think it’s such a cute collection. ⭐️ COLOURPOP - Colourpop Pressed Powder Blush I don’t know if this shade is still available, but Colourpop has such cute blush shades, but also any peachy blush works just fine. ⭐️ BECCA - Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed Highlighter a friend gifted me this in the iconic Champagne Pop shade, I love it. So creamy and blinding! ⭐️ Glossier. - Pro Tip Brush Point Liquid Eyeliner solid eyeliner, reminds me of my favorite Japanese brush tip liner. ⭐️ flesh - FLESHY LIPS Sheer Lipstick idk if flesh is even a brand now but I love the formula of this lipstick, it’s balmy and feels hydrating. #CheriePartner

How to contour a round face: here’s my secret😬
Being a round face, I kinda enjoy people’s compliments of how I usually look cute and young. But it is an obstacle when I wanna try out some mature and sexy style. So at this time, contouring powders and technique are there to help me out. Today I want to share with you how I usually contour my round face to make it appear a little longer and slimmer. These are my tricks to adding definition of my face features. · What I will use: ◇ Bronzer: hoola from Benefit ◇ Highlighter: liquid highlighter in the shade “Champagne pop” from Becca ◇ Blush: Blush Bouquet Dual Blush Palette in the shade “Adore” from Jouer Cosmetics · Steps of contouring the face: 1. The first step is to emphasize your cheekbones since I believe most round-face girls are bothered by soft and rounded features on their faces. To achieve that, you want to first suck in your cheeks in the mirror to find the right area to start applying the bronzer powder with the brush it comes with. 2. Another place to use bronzer is where around your temples. Narrowing these two sides will make your face visually slimmer. Just use your brush to draw a “C” shape on both sides. 3. Next, use you finger to apply the liquid highlighter in three areas: under-eye area, the middle part of your forehead and also your chin. 4. And here comes the blush: use the blush to connect the areas of bronzer and highlighter and make sure they are blended out in a natural way. It would be a good idea to dab a little of the product on your chin. 5. Finally, it would be better if you could use a large face powder brush to blend all the products on your face to make sure there are no clear boundaries. · Some more tips: As you can see from my swatch, my chosen products are rather in the same undertone of golden and yellowish color. In this way they look more harmonious when used together. If you somehow use too much product, you could always save it by applying enough face powder to blend!

My Mental Wellness Improved Through My Self AcceptanceWhen I was around 13 or 14 years old, I remember routinely taking one of my older sister’s black eyeliner pencils before school every morning. I’d arrive early so that I could slip away to the girl’s bathroom to apply a single black line to my eyelids. My parents didn’t allow me to wear any makeup at the time. Although this smudgy line on my eyelids didn’t make me look all that much different, I never felt comfortable at school without it. My teenage mind convinced myself that I needed some sort of cosmetic symbol in order to appropriately express my femininity. Up until that point in my life, society had told girls that looked like me - tall, Black, and with kinky hair - that we somehow weren’t as beautiful as the other girls. For far too long, I believed it too.Feb. 17
