What I like & dislike of Fenty Beauty face products

Rihanna created Fenty Beauty, focusing on a wide range of traditionally hard-to-match skin tones, developing formulas that work for all skin types, and pinpointing universal shades. So when the brand came out I was very excited. And today I want to share some face products that I bought several months ago and share my thoughts. Let’s start with the primer and foundation that created for normal to dry skin type. The Pro Filter Hydrating Primer is a lightweight, hydrating primer with grape seed oil and sodium hyaluronate inside for a silky-smooth finish. I have dry skin and I can feel the hydration after applying it, but I don’t think it will last all day. However, the packaging and the smell of it is really nice, so I can give it 4/5 and I quite like it. FENTY BEAUTY - Pro Filt'r Hydrating Primer
About the Hydrating Longwear Foundation, I am not a fan of it. As you can see in the picture, I use it after the primer and it still looks dry even it has fluidity. The description says it will give a hydrating, natural finish with medium-to-full coverage. I admit that the coverage is pretty good and it is easy to blend, but it is not hydrating for me and I can see it sticking in my smiling lines after only 3 to 4 hours. So I am thinking maybe it will have better performance during hot summer weather. I can give it 3/5 and I don’t think it met my expectation.  FENTY BEAUTY - Pro Filt'r Hydrating Longwear Foundation
Now it turns to highlighters. The first one is the Diamond Bomb-How Many Carats?!, which is a highlighter with pure platinum sparkle and no base color at all. So, I think it can be used for all skin tones. Even it is full of glitters, it features a unique jelly-powder formula and feels like oily based. However, it squeezed and off the pan right now and I didn’t drop it for sure. So, considering the risk of off pan, I can give it 4/5 and a like. FENTY BEAUTY - Diamond Bomb All-Over Diamond Veil
The next is a mini highlighter I bought in a set with a lip gloss. It is a Killawatt Freestyle Highlighter named Hu$tla Baby, which is a golden champagne shimmer. It feels super soft and shiny. The size is also perfect for traveling. Even the shade is not very special, it is still beautiful and can match different kinds of makeup. I can also give it 4/5.  FENTY BEAUTY - Killawatt Freestyle Highlighter So these are my thoughts about the products I bought from Fenty Beauty, and each of them I did a lot of work before purchasing. Hope my reviews can be helpful for you!

The best glitter you need for music festival makeup✨✨
When I was a little girl, I always wanted to put as much glitter as possible on my face. I thought that was the most beautiful makeup I could draw. Until now, glitter is also an important element in our makeup routine. Let me preface this by saying that chunky glitter is best used in moderation, whether you're applying it to your face, body, or hair. Festival-wise, you can't go wrong with a touch of embellishment on the lids or a shimmering slick back. So here are some shimmer products I think you won't miss for your festival makeup design! stila - Glitter & Glow Liquid Eyeshadow Maximum-impact metallic eyes are having a moment—and are inherently festival-ready. Stila's dazzling range of metallic and jewel tone Glitter and Glow Liquid Eye Shadows make application a cinch and can hang out in your cross-body bag all day long. You need to know it’s going to stay put. Stila Magnificent Metals Glitter and Glow Liquid Eye Shadow is so intense it leaves a chrome-like finish on lids (or your forehead, cheeks, or even boobs if you’re getting really crazy) in the first swipe. And it won’t budge or fade, even if you manage to stay until the last act of the night. Apply one coat on the lids as desired, then use your finger in a tapping motion to blend out the edges Stila Magnificent Metals Glitter & Glow Liquid Eye Shadow, I bought this eyeshadow on sephora, which cost me $24. FENTY BEAUTY - Diamond Bomb All-Over Diamond Veil This is one of my best highlight palettes. Fenty beauty, an obsession with makeup started early on for Rihanna after discovering her mum’s lipstick for the first time.  In detailed, The formula is kind of creamy but more putty and when you put it on they feel like a powder. It’s very sheer but it gives an intense glow. The best way to apply it is with your finger, it meshes beautifully with the skin. As for the lasting power, it could last on my face at least 6 hours without fading. Also, the cost of this palette on Sephora is $36.

What is it? 💎“Diamond bomb is an all-over diamond veil. Super 3D sparkle for face & body. Insane diamond dusted effect” My opinion on it... 💎It’s stunning!!! Definitely a summer product as you snow more skin during the season. I used a little on my cheekbones and my collarbone/chest and it was so flattering!! It would probably be amazing for nights out in dresses that show a lot of collarbone etc. But again, you can use it as a highlight if you wish. I love how optional this product is!! How is the formula? 💎Amazing there is glitter in every single swipe! And it’s so beautiful I can’t stop saying that 😻. I have never had a product like this before. Is it worth the price? 💎Yes. It’s a simple yes from me. Shade shown in review: Cognac Candy FENTY BEAUTY - Diamond Bomb All-Over Diamond Veil

Makeup for Special Occasions
Omg can I just say that doing this look made me miss going out even more! 😢 I personally thrive on the dance floor 💃🏽 But anyways, you guessed right this is my clubbing makeup. Let’s be real when we’re going clubbing, it’s important to keep in mind that most of our makeup will be sweated off by the end of the night, so I prefer to keep it as glam yet simple as possible! I achieve this by using fun colours that I normally wouldn’t, with a few products. So here you see I am wearing blue eyeliner, which takes a while to come off & a purplish pink gloss to give my lips a tinted shine that I won’t have to keep maintaining with several lipsticks and lip liners! By the way, I’m not wearing foundation bc that’ll definitely get messy throughout the night with the way I’m dancing & I just love my skin how it is, honestly! 1. I started this look off with doing my brows. I got them waxed today ✨ so I didn’t need to shape them up, just filled them in with Milk MAKEUP - KUSH Fiber Brow Gel 2. Next I used SAPPHO - New Paradigm Concealer to let the ĀETHER BEAUTY - Crystal Grid Gemstone Palette eyeshadow last a bit longer throughout the night. I used an icy blue from this palette to just brighten the eyes more, which would look nice when the light hits em. (For shadow on the eye crease and contour I used MISMACK - Large ART Shadow in 'Shade' which is not captured bc it crumbled after falling oK?!😭) 3. Then I did a cat eye on each side in blue with L'ORÉAL - Infallible Paints Eyeliner . Oops it’s not “clean beauty” but it glides so nicely and the pen doesn’t dry out mid stroke, which I really respect. I also have this in white for future face art experiments 🖼 4. Completed fanning the lashes with the superb Milk MAKEUP - KUSH High Volume Mascara we all got for our birthdays from Sephora 💝 5. Used FENTY BEAUTY - Killawatt Freestyle Highlighter to warm up the cheekbones with both the orange and pink and then LAWLESS - Lucid Skin Highlighter to highlight the usual areas. 6. I know in the last post I gave it a 4 star rating, but honestly, I finally found the use for the BITE - Yaysayer Plumping Lip Gloss in Plum Tart, as I noticed it lasts quite a while without needing to be reapplied. Such a win! It tastes like Coca Cola and isn’t too sticky, but gives enough of shine and pigment to make it look like you’re wearing something 👌🏽 #CheriePartner

NEW PRODUCT ALERT 🚨
Fenty Beauty by Rihanna is a brand that I heard about only recently on Tik Tok. Living in South Africa, I’m not really exposed to these international brands and so these kind of products are almost never available here. But...rest assured I was on a mission to find a way to get the Fenty Beauty foundation to my door step...and eventually I did. Details and Observations: - I purchased the FENTY BEAUTY - Pro Filt'r Hydrating Longwear Foundation in the shade . - It’s 100% full coverage but doesn’t look heavy on the skin at all. - It’s perfect for an everyday foundation and looks so natural on my skin tone. - The texture is very smooth and light weight. - I like to really moisturize the foundation into my skin...almost the same as my actual moisturizer. - You don’t need to use a lot of product to cover your whole face. I’m definitely glad I went through all the trouble...it was worth it!🥰 Thanks Riri! Paula x

Must-Have Products from Sephora and Ulta 🌟
We all have some beauty products that become hard to go without once we’ve tried them! Some of my beauty staples include skincare products to prep my skin and a high-hold hairspray so my hairstyle lasts all day. Here are my favorite products from Sephora and Ulta! Milk MAKEUP - Hydro Grip Primer This is my go-to primer when I want my makeup to last all day long! It hydrates my skin without turning my face into an oil slick, and it has a slightly tacky feel that grips onto my foundation, just like it says. FENTY BEAUTY - Pro Filt'r Hydrating Longwear Foundation I prefer the hydrating formula of the Fenty Foundation over the original formula, which I thought was too matte for me, even with my oily/combo skin. This foundation blends out really nicely to a natural-looking satin finish, and I can easily layer setting powder over it without making my base look cakey or patchy. The Ordinary - AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution This chemical exfoliant is a cult classic for a reason: It’s effective, looks cool, and costs less than $8! I love using it on Sunday nights as a weekly reset for my face. If you follow the instructions (leave on for 10 minutes and don’t use it more than twice a week), you’ll have baby soft skin without damaging your moisture barrier in no time. REDKEN - Triple Pure 32 Neutral Fragrance Hairspray It’s almost impossible for my hair to hold a curl without some kind of product. I love this hairspray because it sets my hair but doesn’t leave it feeling solid or crunchy. The mist is really fine so it disperses through my hair evenly without leaving some parts clumped with product and some parts untouched, which is one of my biggest pet peeves with hairspray. I highly recommend this to anyone who has trouble making their styled hair last more than an hour! TIGI - A Wave We Go Adjustable Deep Waver I love this hair waver because it’s incredibly easy to use. With this, I can wave my lob in literally 10 minutes! You can adjust the depth of the wave too, so you can have anything between a subtle beach wave or some really wild waves. What are your favorite products from Sephora and Ulta?

Foundations to Buy or Avoid
Foundations to Buy or Avoid
Hello, Foundations are either a girls best friend or the worst enemy if you choose wrongly. I have had nightmares with foundations when I want to try new product and cannot find my shade. As I said earlier i have combination skin, I love to use foundations that give dewy look. I have worn the same primer for both of these, Urban Decay-Optical Illusion Primer. URBAN DECAY - Optical Illusion Complexion Face Primer CHANEL- Vitalumière Aqua, 30 Beige This is by far one of my favourite foundations I have used. When spending money on a luxury product, we want to do as much as research we want to beforehand. This foundation is very light on skin, blends well and gives a very natural dewy look. It has good cover up but if you want a bit more you can of course use another layer and it will not be caky or flaky. CHANEL - VITALUMIÈRE AQUA Ultra-Light Skin Perfecting Sunscreen Makeup Broad Spectrum SPF 15 Fenty Beauty- Pro Filter Soft Matte Well, I rate this foundation a 1 because it is not soft matte firstly and is very hard to blend. Like I said I love dewy and I thought soft matte will be fine for summer but no, I was wrong. It is so difficult to blend and starts becoming caky already while applying. One thing you can do is mix it with another foundation and use but thats all I could do. FENTY BEAUTY - Pro Filt'r Soft Matte Longwear Foundation

Setting powder: Laura Mercier or RCMA?
Setting powder: Laura Mercier or RCMA?
If you search “setting powder” on Sephora website, sorting with “bestselling”, the Translucent Loose Setting Powder from Laura Mercier is one of the top 3. And if you pay some attention about makeup, you may hear about the No Color Powder from RCMA Mackup. I love both of them and I will show the differences before and after I applied two products and talk about my thoughts. By the way, I barely baking and I usually use loose powder under my eyes, nose and the center of my face where my pores are obvious. Let’s start with the more expensive ones. I have two sizes of the loose powder from LM. The smaller one is $23, with 0.33oz/9.3g product inside, and the larger one is $39, with 1oz/30g inside, which means the large size is more cost-efficient if you use powder a lot. I also purchased the puff, and it feels soft and can grab the powder easily, so I love using these to apply all my loose powders. As you can tell in the picture, after applying foundation, you can still see my pores and the radiant of my face. But after the powder, my face looks totally matte and blurred, and my pores are covered up to 80%. Because I am a dry skin and only my nose will be a little oily after 4-5 hours. With the powder, I would say I won’t get oily until 7 hours later. You can tell how I love this by my repurchase, and I think it is for all skin types. They also launched a darker version if you have medium deep to deep skin, which is awesome. Then let’s talk about the RCMA No Color Powder, which is only $12 for 3oz/90g. The only thing is inconvenient is that it is hard to pour out the appropriate amount of powder, and I still need to buy a small box so that I can get the product with either a brush or a puff. And sometimes, when I am lazy, I will use the beauty blender that I apply the foundation to apply the powder to do a short time baking under my eyes and on my nose, then wipe it with a big fluffy brush all around my face after 5 mins. Because I am doing a comparison, so this time, I use the same puff to apply it. There is not such a big difference just by looking, because they both cover my pores and have a matte finish. The only difference I feel is that the RCMA one is a little drier than the LM one on my nose, but the price of RCMA powder is so affordable, and you can get so many products that you may never use up. So I think it is a perfect dupe for me and I highly recommend it.

Milk Hydro Grip
Milk Hydro Grip
Quoted via the sephora site: “What it is: A hydrating, makeup-gripping primer formulated with hemp-derived cannabis seed extract and blue agave extract for all-day hydration and hold. Highlighted Ingredients: - Hemp-Derived Cannabis Seed Extract: Hydrates and smooths the look of skin, while providing antioxidant benefits. - Blue Agave Extract: Forms an invisible layer to grip makeup, smooth the look of texture, and seal in moisture. - Prickly Pear Cactus Extract and Aloe Water: Hydrates, soothes, and calms skin.” ••• This is the tackiest primer I have EVER used. Which is a good thing bc it grips (😉) onto your makeup to make it look seamless. It is hydrating and doesn’t make my skin dry out which is also a plus. I tend to lean towards moisturizing primers and there are other ones I like more than this. I do recommend this product though! It is very good. It is 1.52oz for $30. Milk MAKEUP - Hydro Grip Primer

Happy with my purchase
Happy with my purchase
Fentybeauty Pro Filt’r Hydrating Foundation I was so ecstatic when I found out that this was coming out bc the original foundation was far too matte for my dry so the fact that they actually listened to their consumer’s and formulated this along with a hydrating primer was really great! Now this foundation claims to be light as air, yet long-wearing and medium to a buildable full coverage with a natural finish. It retails for $35 which, for the quality of the product, is truly reasonable seeing as there are so many foundations coming out right now, some for over $50-$60 smh, with a less comparable product. 🤦🏻‍♀️ So how did I like it? So far.. I love it. As someone with super dry , I am so appreciative of the fact that she formulated a high coverage foundation (with great packaging might I add) that actually hydrated without making you look greasy AND lasts th out the day! I will say that I only sampled the primer and didn’t buy it bc to be honest, if you are hydrating well, don’t want to fill or control oil per se, and are using a good SPF as part of your care, I feel like you def do not need the hydrating primer. I’ve now worn this foundation for about 4 days, each with a different type of primer, and I’ve enjoyed it almost each way. I definitely think that this foundation is worth sampling and purchasing if you find a good shade match, especially with winter approaching bc most ppl will need that hydrating but natural finish in the cooler months! 🌬 All in all, I really am enjoying the fenty foundation and currently shade 240 is matching me pretty well so I’m really happy with my purchase! I hope you all try it out ! 🥰

Mix them up! Get a better foundation
Mix them up! Get a better foundation
I'm very picky to the foundation because I have dry skin. The hydrating, coverage, texture, finish of a foundation is all very important. I got Kevyn Aucoin Etherealist Foundation in Sephora. When I try it store, I like its nice coverage, lightweight texture and fragrance-free. While after few times try on my skin, I found it somewhat dry out my skin. So, I put it away. To get a flawless foundation makeup, I know it’s very important to put on a primer. I got Armani Maestro UV primer, which is one of Armani Beauty's best sellers. It has broad-spectrum SPF 50 that is really amazing, as a primer, I like it. It uses antioxidants fillers to mimic the behavior of collagen. The texture of it is oil-ish and a bit oily. It can soak into the skin well, but I will need to very careful of the amount. Or, my skin will get really greasy. Then, it occurs to me that why not mix them together. The thing is the mixture does do a great job. The mixed foundation becomes very easy to blend and definitely buildable. It is really lightweight and fluid, which provides my skin great moisturizing, and makes my skin looks glowy without oily looking. It won't be cakey even if I wear makeup over 8 hours. Mixed with oily texture primers will not affect its coverage. It could still cover my blemishes. Before I give a try, I cannot imagine how well could two beauty products mix together. Kevyn Aucoin foundation costs me $58, and Armani primer is $64, which are really pricy! This amazing try totally save my money!

FENTY FACE - honest review
FENTY FACE - honest review
So as much as I love RiRi, I don’t love everything from her makeup line :( FENTY BEAUTY - Pro Filt'r Soft Matte Longwear Foundation Sadly, this foundation did not work well for me because of the oxidation and shade range. This foundation ( matte only not hydrating version ) oxidizes about 3 shades darker than what it pumps out as right away. I am medium range towards tan range, but with an olive undertone. I wore shade 290 and it turned grey on me after oxidizing due to it being a neutral olive undertone. For such a big foundation range, the lack of olive undertones really bummed me out. BUT regardless of shades, the formula is beautiful and works great for oily skin. It’s REALLY matte and is a hard pass for my dry skin. PROS: Smooth matte finish + long lasting CONS: too matte for dry skin + oxidation FENTY BEAUTY - Pro Filt’r Instant Retouch Primer 5 stars for a reason. Absolutely gorgeous primer. Smooths our your skin and fills in pores. Looks incredible with most foundations. I love the smell. FENTY BEAUTY - Invisimatte Blotting Powder Great translucent powder! No flashback and great for on the go. My only complaint is I hit pan too quickly with it! FENTY BEAUTY - Gloss Bomb Universal Lip Luminizer The hype is real! Not a lip gloss type of girl, but after gloss bomb I wear it. One of the most comfortable glosses I’ve ever worn. Hydrating and simply natural and beautiful.
