What I like & dislike of Fenty Beauty face products
Rihanna created Fenty Beauty, focusing on a wide range of traditionally hard-to-match skin tones, developing formulas that work for all skin types, and pinpointing universal shades. So when the brand came out I was very excited. And today I want to share some face products that I bought several months ago and share my thoughts. Let’s start with the primer and foundation that created for normal to dry skin type. The Pro Filter Hydrating Primer is a lightweight, hydrating primer with grape seed oil and sodium hyaluronate inside for a silky-smooth finish. I have dry skin and I can feel the hydration after applying it, but I don’t think it will last all day. However, the packaging and the smell of it is really nice, so I can give it 4/5 and I quite like it. FENTY BEAUTY - Pro Filt'r Hydrating Primer
So I was super excited to try these fenty highlighters because of how everyone raves about them. I was unfortunately disappointed in the both of them. They appear to be really glittery and they don’t really pack a punch on my skin. I’ve tried many different ways of applying the highlighter and I’m still disappointed each time
Worth it? My 4 favos highlighter
I'm a highlighter girl. Highlighters always highlight my makeup look! Those four highlighters are my favourites and are also very popular in the markets. Swipe left to see the color swatches. Let's go review them. ✨Cle De Peau Beaute - Luminizing Face Enhancer #17 Price: $90 - The highest Texture: Pressed Powder Cle De Peau is a Japanese brand, which provides high-end beauty products. The price point of it is the highest among all my highlighters, it's almost equal to the total of other three highlighters. I'm very into the package and the color of it. This highlighter provides a natural look. I always use it after setting powder. The powder is super fine. It's buildable and won't cake the look. clé de peau BEAUTÉ - luminizing face enhancer ✨Charolette Tilbury - Beauty Highlighter Wand #Goldgasm Price: $38 Texture: Liquid I picked Goldgasm color of this highlighter. The color is a bit goldish, it works well on light and medium skin tone. It's perfectly golden on my skintone without being yellow. Just one thing need to notice that, as a liquid highlighter, I need to apply it before setting-powder. Or, it will make my look cakey. Charlotte Tilbury - Glowgasm Beauty Wand Highlighter ✨Fenty Beauty - Diamond Bomb All-Over Diamond Veil Price:$39 Texture: Pressed Powder ( a bit creamy) I've had it for 2 years. It does what it claims - "diamond-dusted". I love it's shimmer and sparkle, which gives me a fabulous look. This highlighter is not natural, as it's super shiny. I will wear it for nightlife. It will definitely standout you. The texture is a bit creamy, which is very buildable. I use my fingers to apply it on my cheek. FENTY BEAUTY - Diamond Bomb All-Over Diamond Veil ✨Natasha Denona - Mini Diamond & Glow Cheek Duo Price: $19 Texture: Pressed Powder This one is the lowest price, but gets my fullest attention. I'm a super fan of Natasha Denona. They always create beautiful things silently without over merchandising. This pallete has two colors: nude and pink. The nude one looks the same as Fenty Beauty highlighter. But the powder is not as fine as that. I love the pink glow of it. It's super buildable and blendable. And is the most pigmented one among all these highlighters. It's like a combination of blush and highlighter. I will give it 5 stars and definetly recommend it. NATASHA DENONA - Mini Diamond & Glow Duo ✨My thoughts: I will say the Cle De Peau highlighter is not worth the price. I can find a lot of dupes to replace it. The only reason I bought it might be it's package, which attracts me a lot. If I can only have one highlighter, I pick the Natasha Denona one, for it's functional and affordable price. ✨I have combination skin and light skin tone.
Love Rihanna Love Fenty Beauty!🤣
The brand Fenty beauty created by Rihanna. So this brand got a lot of attention when it is released. From my view, fenty beauty has a medium high performance during the same level brand. Their popular product is diamond highlight, which has fine powder, large and shiny particles. I bought one but lost it. I am going to show you some other products, which one of them has similar to the popular diamond highlight. The first is sponge egg. Wet it before using can bring you a better makeup effect. I use this egg whatever for the primer or foundation. Its shape is different from that of other sponge eggs. It's not a standard egg description. The sharp side has a special design. It's easier for us to cover all parts on our face. Very soft and smooth feeling when it is applied on your face. FENTY BEAUTY - Precision Makeup Sponge 100 The second pink diamond blush highlight is actually the pink version of the popular diamond highlights. It can be Painted on the face as a blush as well as a high gloss, very convenient. And Daily necessities. However, I have to show one another product from fenty beauty. It is also an highlight, with purple color. But…the performane is really bad. If the powder pink highlight has four stars, this highlight stick only can got 2. Yes…the color is very pretty. It presents the purple luster with colorful glitter. However, that makes no sense! Because it is so hard to apply on your face. Every time when I try to wear it, it will make my foundation got mess. FENTY BEAUTY - Match Stix Matte Skinstick FENTY BEAUTY - Killawatt Freestyle Highlighter So when you shop in the future, don't just look at the packaging and just try them on your hand. Because sometimes even if it looks good on your hands, it is not necessarily practical!
My Fav Highlighters! ✨✨✨
HOURGLASS - Ambient Lighting Finishing Powder This highlighter has always been my favorite. Its refined powder gives a natural, soft and glossy look. I don't think it's necessary to buy HOURGLASS - Ambient Lighting Blush Collection since the 10g of highlighter already lasts forever. Besides, I find the powder of the ambient blushes to be less refined. FENTY BEAUTY - Killawatt Freestyle Highlighter Shade: Sand Castle + Mint'd Mojito I actually bought this highlighter for night date😊😊, but I ended up using it quite often for everyday look. The powder is relatively soft and sticky, so it adheres to the skin very well and hides my pores. I like to use eye shadows with cool shades, so I needed a cool shade of highlighter to match it. For example, I often use the green shade with the CPB 310 eye shadow. The Sand Castle has more of a champagne color and is not as cool a shade. It's also suitable for everyday use.
OH FENTY WHERE ART THOU!

All my dry skin babes and dewy OBSESSED goddesses... holler at this hydrating foundation! + hydrating formula with a natural/dewy finish + long lasting + medium to full coverage, can even sheer out to light coverage. + doesn’t oxidize! Very healthy glowing look. NO NEGATIVES. I truly can’t think of any??? FENTY BEAUTY - Pro Filt'r Instant Retouch Concealer Great concealer, but I wish it wasn’t matte 😒 I’m a hydrating formula type girl. Matches foundation shade range so that it is easy to pick your perfect match or drop down for a brighter highlight color. +lasts all day + medium coverage + little goes a long way + wears comfortably and isn’t drying - it’s not too stand out ishhh for me. - it creases like ALL concealers. ^ only reason why it has 4 stars from me. Primer or No Primer, that’s the burning question! ⚡️
I don't usually use primer but if I want my makeup to last extra long it’s a must, also great for controlling excess oil that you get throughout the day. These 2 products together are great for combination skin and they can be used mixed together for extra strength or on their own 💪🏼 Milk Makeup Blur Stick, I love this stick because it minimizes the appearance of pores with a magic ingredient that gives the skin a blurred texture. I use on t-zone to control excess oil and big pores. Now here’s the science - non-comedogenic, this means it’s a cosmetic that is formulated so as not to cause blocked pores, I read that straight off the packaging! 💛 Fenty Beauty Pro Filter Hydrating Longwear Foundation - Rihanna and her beauty brand strike again with 50 shades of amazing foundations!🎀this is totally brilliant formula, smoothes out skin texture. I love the full-coverage, it so lightweight I can wear it all day. Full of hydrating ingredients, so easy to use and blends right into my skin, really quickly. I find some foundation doesn’t blend easily but this really does, it sinks right into my skin no problem! Cool packaging again, thanks RiRi 😍 airtight pump action tube. What I will say is, it takes lots of pumps to get the first application out but once you get it going, no problem! So do you need a primer, that’s the question? For me, if I have a long day into night situation happening then, yes, every time!💃🏻 If I just want to be ready quickly, look great for a few hours then no, no primer. The combination really works, because of that, you need a good strong makeup remover to get it off. So if you’re short of time just stick with RiRi, she won’t let you down 👄
RiRi girrrl 👏🏾👏🏾
FENTY BEAUTY - Pro Filt'r Hydrating Primer I love this primer! Honestly, it’s so hydrating to the skin that I use it as a moisturizer 🙈🤷🏾♀️ lol. When applying foundation, its an effortless application and the finishing look is bomb! FENTY BEAUTY - Pro Filt'r Soft Matte Longwear Foundation Okay, don’t get me wrong the primer is great 👍🏾 but I don’t particularly like this foundation. The first couple hours after putting on my makeup, I will notice that the foundation would oxidize. Which made it look darker than my actual complexion. Now, I’m not totally done with it yet. I’m going to get another foundation maybe in a lighter shade and see if that makes a difference. FENTY BEAUTY - Match Stix Trio Love. Love. Love. The trio set I have is below: Contour Stix - Truffle and Caramel Highlight Stix - Rum Y’all - I love the way Rum looks! It’s beautiful for the summer time! The pigmentation is great! Just look at the picture lol! ——In all, Rihanna knows what she’s doing 👌🏾
Beauty and the product
I love the Fenty primer. It really leaves such a smooth finish and lasts so long. Ugh and it’s perfect for the summer and all skin types, especially oily skin
my base makeup products for hot summer days🌞
1.smashbox photo finish primerizer smashbox - Photo Finish Primerizer The texture is similar to that of lotion. I have to say, it is sticky. It's more suitable for dry skin. 2.NARS Natural Radiant Long Wear Foundation NARS - Natural Radiant Longwear Foundation scent：★★★☆ hydrating：★★★★ oil control：★★★☆ coverage：★★★★ my thoughts：It's won't let your face feel dehydrated as long as you use skincare products before applying this. But without setting powder or setting spraying, it may be a little bit sticky and greasy. It's between medium to high vocerage.✨ 3.L.A. GIRL HD Pro.Conceal #Medium Bisque L.A. Girl - HD Pro Concealer The texture is creamy and liquidy, very easy to blend. The brush is designed very convenient to use. 👍 4.KKW BRIGHTENING POWDER #1 KKW BEAUTY - BRIGHTENING POWDER You can tell by the name that the powder is use to brighten the skin.✨ Mine is #1, the shade is very light. I only use it to brighten my under eyes area. 5.Charlotte Tilbury flawless finish micro powder#1 Fair Charlotte Tilbury - Airbrush Flawless Finish Setting Powder This setting powder creates a matte finish which I LOVE!😍 It seems 100% natural like there's no-makeup. The coverage is medium. 6.wet n wild highlighting powder #321B wet n wild - MegaGlo Highlighting Powder I bought this few years ago. I thought the shade is too dar for me but now I just love it! The texture is soft, not that powdery.

Foundations from Make up for ever—liquid or powder?
Today I want to share two products from Make up for ever, which is a professional brand with a great reputation. And their face products are really popular. I tried both the HD foundation and the Blurring powder foundation. I have dry skin, and I usually use moisturizing cream before I apply foundations, and my main expectation for them is to cover at least 50% of my pimples and acne marks. Besides, I have serious pores problem, and I need my foundations to fill and blur my pores. About the shade selection, I don’t want to look too white so I always go for the color that with neutral or yellow undertones. Let’s start with the Ultra HD Foundation, which is their best-selling, everyday liquid foundation. It has 50 shades, which is awesome, and my shade is Y225-Marble, for light skin with golden undertone. I had high expectations for this because lots of people said it didn’t dry out their skin and was comfortable to wear. It also has Hyaluronic Acid inside for hydrating. The finish is okay for me because it does give me a pretty natural look and can last for at least 6-7 hours. But there are several things I am not happy with. First of all, if I use a regular beauty blender to apply it, I can’t get much coverage even I use a lot. I can either use a dense brush or the velvet sponge from JUNO & Co. to have around 60% coverage. Besides, if I didn’t use a hydrating primer, I would have dry patches on my nose, cheeks and my smiling lines. The last thing is that I expected it to give me a luminous finish, but as you can see, it’s quite matte. So I need to use a setting spray to give myself some glow. To be honest, I use this foundation a lot for my daily makeup because it is really easy to blend and long-lasting, and it just doesn’t give me a surprise. Then let’s talk about the Matte Velvet Skin Powder. It claims to be full coverage, blurring powder with a lifelike matte finish, and you can wear 12 hours without cakes, flakes or fades. There are 30 shades and the names are the same as the HD collection. I use the shade Y235-ivory beige, which is a little darker than my skin but looks good after I finish my makeup. Compared to the HD one, I love this one much better—higher coverage, more blurring, longer-lasting, and almost no caking. At first, I thought it could be too dry for me to use powder products, but this one is really smooth and visibly reducing pores and still lightweight. Besides, it’s convenient to carry with and has a mirror inside. After buying this, I never used the HD one again. In conclusion, I feel like if you have the same skin problems, need coverage, and love matte finish. I highly recommend the Matte Velvet Powder Foundation no matter what skin type you got only if you prime well. And this is my favorite foundation ever!

Liquid Foundation Comparisons
My skin type: normal skin. Bird's Nest It can fill in pores and brighten complexion, but it has almost no concealing effect. It is not particularly moisturizing or dry, and is suitable for those with enlarged pores to use it as a primer. In my case, it doesn't cut it as a foundation. WANDER BEAUTY - Nude Illusion Liquid Foundation 💓It conceals well and comes with a concealer stick so it can be used both as a foundation and a concealer. 10/10 would recommend! FENTY BEAUTY - Pro Filt'r Hydrating Longwear Foundation 💓It comes in a portable tube and it's much simpler than Wander Beauty's packaging. It only has a 30-40% coverage. I neither find this foundation particularly good nor bad. laura mercier - Tinted Moisturizer Natural Skin Perfector Broad Spectrum SPF 30 💓It's a weak concealer which is very moisturizing. I like it the most out of the four.👸🏻👸🏻 The color I tested was Ow1 Pearl, which is very suitable for normal skin.

Setting powder: Laura Mercier or RCMA?
If you search “setting powder” on Sephora website, sorting with “bestselling”, the Translucent Loose Setting Powder from Laura Mercier is one of the top 3. And if you pay some attention about makeup, you may hear about the No Color Powder from RCMA Mackup. I love both of them and I will show the differences before and after I applied two products and talk about my thoughts. By the way, I barely baking and I usually use loose powder under my eyes, nose and the center of my face where my pores are obvious. Let’s start with the more expensive ones. I have two sizes of the loose powder from LM. The smaller one is $23, with 0.33oz/9.3g product inside, and the larger one is $39, with 1oz/30g inside, which means the large size is more cost-efficient if you use powder a lot. I also purchased the puff, and it feels soft and can grab the powder easily, so I love using these to apply all my loose powders. As you can tell in the picture, after applying foundation, you can still see my pores and the radiant of my face. But after the powder, my face looks totally matte and blurred, and my pores are covered up to 80%. Because I am a dry skin and only my nose will be a little oily after 4-5 hours. With the powder, I would say I won’t get oily until 7 hours later. You can tell how I love this by my repurchase, and I think it is for all skin types. They also launched a darker version if you have medium deep to deep skin, which is awesome. Then let’s talk about the RCMA No Color Powder, which is only $12 for 3oz/90g. The only thing is inconvenient is that it is hard to pour out the appropriate amount of powder, and I still need to buy a small box so that I can get the product with either a brush or a puff. And sometimes, when I am lazy, I will use the beauty blender that I apply the foundation to apply the powder to do a short time baking under my eyes and on my nose, then wipe it with a big fluffy brush all around my face after 5 mins. Because I am doing a comparison, so this time, I use the same puff to apply it. There is not such a big difference just by looking, because they both cover my pores and have a matte finish. The only difference I feel is that the RCMA one is a little drier than the LM one on my nose, but the price of RCMA powder is so affordable, and you can get so many products that you may never use up. So I think it is a perfect dupe for me and I highly recommend it.

FENTY FACE - honest review
So as much as I love RiRi, I don’t love everything from her makeup line :( FENTY BEAUTY - Pro Filt'r Soft Matte Longwear Foundation Sadly, this foundation did not work well for me because of the oxidation and shade range. This foundation ( matte only not hydrating version ) oxidizes about 3 shades darker than what it pumps out as right away. I am medium range towards tan range, but with an olive undertone. I wore shade 290 and it turned grey on me after oxidizing due to it being a neutral olive undertone. For such a big foundation range, the lack of olive undertones really bummed me out. BUT regardless of shades, the formula is beautiful and works great for oily skin. It’s REALLY matte and is a hard pass for my dry skin. PROS: Smooth matte finish + long lasting CONS: too matte for dry skin + oxidation FENTY BEAUTY - Pro Filt’r Instant Retouch Primer 5 stars for a reason. Absolutely gorgeous primer. Smooths our your skin and fills in pores. Looks incredible with most foundations. I love the smell. FENTY BEAUTY - Invisimatte Blotting Powder Great translucent powder! No flashback and great for on the go. My only complaint is I hit pan too quickly with it! FENTY BEAUTY - Gloss Bomb Universal Lip Luminizer The hype is real! Not a lip gloss type of girl, but after gloss bomb I wear it. One of the most comfortable glosses I’ve ever worn. Hydrating and simply natural and beautiful.

Mix them up! Get a better foundation
I'm very picky to the foundation because I have dry skin. The hydrating, coverage, texture, finish of a foundation is all very important. I got Kevyn Aucoin Etherealist Foundation in Sephora. When I try it store, I like its nice coverage, lightweight texture and fragrance-free. While after few times try on my skin, I found it somewhat dry out my skin. So, I put it away. To get a flawless foundation makeup, I know it’s very important to put on a primer. I got Armani Maestro UV primer, which is one of Armani Beauty's best sellers. It has broad-spectrum SPF 50 that is really amazing, as a primer, I like it. It uses antioxidants fillers to mimic the behavior of collagen. The texture of it is oil-ish and a bit oily. It can soak into the skin well, but I will need to very careful of the amount. Or, my skin will get really greasy. Then, it occurs to me that why not mix them together. The thing is the mixture does do a great job. The mixed foundation becomes very easy to blend and definitely buildable. It is really lightweight and fluid, which provides my skin great moisturizing, and makes my skin looks glowy without oily looking. It won't be cakey even if I wear makeup over 8 hours. Mixed with oily texture primers will not affect its coverage. It could still cover my blemishes. Before I give a try, I cannot imagine how well could two beauty products mix together. Kevyn Aucoin foundation costs me $58, and Armani primer is $64, which are really pricy! This amazing try totally save my money!
