Beautiful Glitter Eyeshadow—Pat McGrath Labs or Chanel?

Speaking of eyeshadow, I usually buy palettes instead of the single one. The palettes are more convenient and can do at least one eye look like the Quad Eyeshadow Palette from Pat Mcgrath I will talk about today. So, what I expect for a single eyeshadow is that either it is affordable and can be packed together with others like the Colourpop pressed powder eyeshadow, or it must have something special like colorful glitters and can be used as an add-on.  Let’s start with the Chanel #905 Electric Lame from the Omber Premiere collection, which is an exclusive creation at the end of 2018. The reason why I purchased it is the second reason I said, and it is a light champagne shade with gold, blue and green pearls, so gorgeous under sunshine. The shape is an iconic lion of Gabrielle Chanel, and it is silky, metallic and also perfect as a highlighter. The original price is $30, but it is already $50 on eBay right now, so crazy! Besides, I don’t really use it because the lion is so cool and I want to keep the shape, so I keep looking for something  similar. CHANEL - OMBRE PREMIÈRE Longwear Powder Eyeshadow
I didn’t find another eyeshadow like that until I meet the Blitz Astral Quad Eyeshadow Palette #Iconic Illumination from Pat McGrath Labs. It is a four-shade palette combining the features of powder, cream, and glitter textures. The one that is really similar to the Chanel 905 is called Astral Gold Allure, and the only difference I feel is this eyeshadow has more glitter and almost without a base color. I bought this palette during the last sale of Sephora, so it cost me $52 instead of $65, so one shade is only $13, more than 50% off of 905. Besides, it is a palette, meaning you can also create a full eye look using it.  Right now, Sephora has its VIP 80% sale, and it's time to try some new stuff. This palette is a great choice! smashbox - Photo Edit Eye Shadow TrioI am such a sucker for packaging and the first thing I noticed about the shadows was that the container really fits in with their “photo edit” theme. 💗💗 As for the shadows, the texture is super pigmented and creamy. It glided on the skin like butter. I love a natural eye look, so I picked 4  everyday shades. Swipe to see the swatchs, outdoor (the upper) VS. indoor (the lower). 💕Tag Me is a red-brown palette with plum, looks very summery. 💕I think Nudie Pic is a must-have one, it has some awesome workable mattes that are wonderful to use as base and transition colours. When I am running short on time or want to keep my make-up simple but gorgeous, this fair nude trio is a no-brainer for me. 💕Pic Me can be used to build a feminine pink look. The sparks are really beautiful. 💕I find myself reaching for Holy Crop the most when I’m looking for a striking eye combination and I really love the burgundy shimmer in the right upper corner. Although you have to buy the little trios separately and not like one big eyeshadow palette, I still love them.

COLOURPOP-FEM ROSA - KARRUECHE X COLOURPOP Price: $18 This palette is a straight-up warm and a hint of the neutral colour like. I personally recommend this palette out of all the colour pop palettes. This swatch has six mattes in it. It also has the shade ‘Ladylike’, you can set your eye primer with this and that’s what I have to do with this shade. It’s kind of like creamy light banana shade. You can also use this to highlight your brow bone and your inner corner if you want a matte highlight. ‘Chick’: if you want to highlight your brow bone with it, it is more gold and it’s glitterier. It also has some nice ledge shades, like ‘Dainty’, ‘Mademoiselle’, and ‘Empress’. You get 4 transition shades: ‘Dear’, ‘Missy’, ‘Damsel’ and ‘Duchess’. The first three shades are warmer, and ‘Duchess’ is more neutral. So, you have that option definitely with transition shades it really directs where your look is going. Naked Heat Collection by Urban Decay Price: $54 It is definitely warm tones too. It has 12 rectangular shape shadows, a large mirror, and a double-sided brush as usual. The shades set up from light to dark. I’m going to quote urban decay on this, it says this is the most shade driven Naked palette urban decay has ever created. And I completely agree with that. These shades in this are very monochromatic. There are too many ‘RED’ in it. It only has four shades are neutral and one shade is kind of purple. There are 7 matte shades and 5 shimmer shades. In terms of the shade, the two palettes are similar. Urban Decay is more expensive, but I don't think it performs better. If you want to travel with one of them, I think you'll prefer COLOURPOP because it's much lighter in weight.

I'm going to buy nabla palette
I'm going to buy nabla palettes almost every time nabla released a palette but Secret Palette seemed to be ideal for me. Somehow I started to enjoy makeup more than skincare thanks to my studies but don't worry - I'm still on a dark side - I totally love cosmetic chemistry, it's always nice to know how you can make a product on your own. Back to Nabla Secret Palette - the packaging is so perfect, I was expecting that maybe this time Nabla will go for some red and green or in general the packaging gave me goth vibes but it's a nice palette with many surprising shades and one of the shade is called Ghibli - I really hope it's a reference to Studio Ghibli. Even if My Neighbor Totoro is probably one of the most known animations from Studio Ghibli, I still love The Cat Returns and Spirited Away the most!

My favourite eyeshadows
My favourite eyeshadows
Here are three of my favourite eyeshadow products that I would like to recommend: 1.M.A.C Eye Shadow - Fashion’s Field Day This is a single pressed eyeshadow from M.A.C. I like this one because the colour is so special. Basically, it’s a beautiful pinky coral shade eyeshadow with a pearly finish, but it has a fine golden shimmer that creates a kind of frost eyeshadow look. It’s not that strong reflective and iridescent shimmer so it can still be very natural for day-to-day use. The texture is a little bit dry but acceptable and the pigmentation is good. It applies evenly on my eyelid and blends very well.  2.COLOURPOP Super Shock Shadow Ultra-Glitter - DGAF I would highly recommend this single eyeshadow if you are looking for a shimmer eyeshadow with glitters. I really love this unique bouncy texture of COLOURPOP. It’s so creamy, so soft and so smooth. Only one swipe is needed to deliver an intense pigmentation. The best tool to apply this eyeshadow is your fingers. And this shade DGAF is the best seller. It has warm-toned brown shade and with many golden glitters to create a multi-dimensional look.   3.CHANEL Multi-effect Quadra Eyeshadow - 268 This is my favourite eyeshadow palette of my whole collection. This palette has four shades that contain three shades of brown and a beautiful warm red shade, and all four shades are matte. The colour combination is exactly for a fall makeup look, and the warm red shade recalls me maple leaves. The texture is not that dry as many other matte eyeshadows especially the red one. The colour is buildable and well-blended on my eyelids.

✨What are the claims? It is a portable mini eyeshadow palette with 6 different shadows of matte & shimmer finish. It is for all skin types & tones. ✨Texture? Buttery, almost creamy! ✨My thoughts? I got this recently in the mail from Cherie & I got to use it out today! I absolutely love it! the shades are perfect for me, and they are so easily blendable. They were super smooth & easily to pick up on a brush. It was very small & perfect for my makeup bag or even purse if I need to touch up! I used it with the Anastasia eyeshadow base & it has worked great all day long! I haven’t had any creasing or oily lids. I’m overall so happy with this product & it works perfect for my skin tone! (I am super fair but the shadows are bomb & will work for everyone!) 😊 ✨Price? It is $25 & it’s the perfect size for a gift or to travel! It’s worth it! So far I'm happy with the rest
So far I'm happy with the rest
toofaced Gingerbread Spice Palette ($49) Swatches! Okay so I've played with her twice now and while I'm not ready to do a proper review yet, I can at least give you my first impressions. Firstly, it swatched beautifully with the exception of Frostbite Me. That one is kind of a chunky mess. I had to finger swatch it because it was impossible with a brush. On the eyes, I'd say that you'd need to use a sticky base and your fingertip. Unless you want a face full of sparkly white mica, of course. The rest of the shimmers are all really nice. The cranberry/copper/gold duochrome on the bottom in particular (you can see the shift in other photos if you swipe left). It has a really emollient 'foiled' texture. It applies well with a brush but on the eyes, I'd probably use it over a glitter glue for maximum color pay off and to prevent fall out. The mattes are a mixed bag. They all swatched great but the light shades aren't great on eyes. Sugar Daddy is bad. Powdery af with mediocre color pay off. And I was also disappointed by Lookie at my Cookie and Oh Snap! Those two weren't awful but they required a good bit of building which is disappointing as they're beautiful colors. The rest performed well. I was especially impressed with Gumdrop and Figgy Pudding. So if you're keeping score we've got two duds (Sugar Daddy, Frostbite Me) and two mehs (Oh Snap!, Lookie at my Cookie) but so far I'm happy with the rest. I've tried all the mattes but not all of the shimmers yet. But I think that you can get a decent gauge of a shimmer's performance through swatching and I don't anticipate any issues other than the one that I already mentioned. Lighter colors tend to be problematic for TF, I've noticed but I'm happy that eye catching shades seem to be performing well so far.
