How to cute hairstyles 🤩💕
Lemme join in on this trending topic and spill the deets to this look! 1. Here I sectioned off 8 square boxes and used mini rubber bands to hold them. The key here is to try and make the parts super defined, straight to give an extra polished look. (I failed, but alas) Then once you have all of your sections banded you criss cross them so that they are overlapping and you end up with four loose tendrils. 2. Then I make sure to wet my hair again and begin putting in flexirods! Make sure to smooth down your ends and brush down each section before you wrap. I also used this amazing gel Ankh - True Aloe Hair Gel

A spa day for your hair! 👏🏽
Ankh hair care is a black woman owned company that specializes in natural, holistic, and effective hair products. One of the main features of the line is the aromatherapy that is the base of the products and promotes relaxation, cleansing, and healing. Ankh - True Aloe Hair Gel ❤️ This hair gel truly smells amazing! You don’t even need to wear perfume because the scent will trail behind you. ❤️ The jars description proved to be true, there’s NO FLAKING! Seriously I love using gels and this is always a make or break factor for me. ❤️good hold! I used this to style my hair and my edges and they both stayed well with no gel cast. ❤️ it is very lightweight/easily absorbed and and made with natural ingredients. Knowing your products are clean is always a good feeling ————- 💔 one star off for me because it was a bit drying for everyday use :( most likely because of the essential oils. But hey smelling great? Priceless! So I will continue using this for special occasions and date nights.

I finally found the hair wash routine for me ✨
I feel like 2020 has been the year I finally embraced my hair. I have damaged, colored, and frizzy curly hair. My hair has always been a sore spot for me as growing up I never knew what to do with it. I spent early mornings with my mother (who has curlier hair than I do) painfully brushing my hair as a child. As a teen I never knew how to style my hair so I always ended up straightening it with my Wet 2 Straight iron and dyeing it almost every color under the sun. Then fast forward to an adult where hair products were the last thing I wanted to deal with. Until this year, I finally made the investment in my hair. It wasn’t until this year that I learned the importance of salon quality shampoo and conditioner. I always make the joke that I do skin not hair but my cosmetology friends have taught me a lot. Bumble and Bumble gifted me their Bumble and bumble. - Bumble and bumble Curl Moisturizing Shampoo and Bumble and bumble. - Curl 3-in-1 Conditioner which have been a god send. My only complaint is it’s an expensive brand for so little product but I’ve seen such a huge difference in how soft and hydrated my hair is. I have this in my shower along with another shampoo my boyfriend is currently using. One week (I try to wash my hair once or twice a week) I accidentally used the wrong shampoo but thought nothing of it. It wasn’t until the next week when I reached for my Bumble and Bumble again I noticed the immediately texture difference it left my hair feeling. The shampoo lathers really nicely with a light scent while the conditioner (which I only use on the mid shaft down) deeply nourishes my hair. I now swear by this shampoo and conditioner and will purchase it in the future. As for leave in products I always make a cocktail of three products. I do two pumps of the IGK - Good Behavior 4-in-1 Prep Spray , one squirt of the OLAPLEX - No. 6 Bond Smoother Reparative Styling Creme , and a couple drops of the OLAPLEX - No. 7 Bonding Oil . With all the dyeing and heat styling I put my hair through last year I use the olaplex to help rebuild those damaged bonds/strengthen them. If you’re using the bonding oil the key to the component is tapping the bottom while it’s upside down. The product disperses really easily this way. I’m a HUGE fan of the original IGK Good Behavior and use it every time I heat style my hair so I was pumped when they came out with a prep spray. This spray helps tame my frizz and keep my hair really smooth. I have very thick hair and it works wonders to help detangle. Out of all the hair products I’ve tried I’ve noticed the hugest difference in the integrity, softness, and overall health of my hair since using these. It’s inspired me to attempt to style my hair more often as it’s not a frizzy, damaged, and unruly mess.
Sleek+Straight; Best Styles for Oval Face Shape
My face shape has always been a cross between oval & round; I have found that one of the most flattering styles for my shape is sleek and straight. Here’s the steps I take to achieve shiny, sleek, healthy looking hair that frames my face and helps to slim down the roundness👇🏻 My hair is naturally straight and is fine in texture. While my natural colour is blonde, it is also colour-treated (bleached) throughout. 1️⃣ I started with day-old, air-dried hair; first I sprayed in the eva·nyc - Mane Magic 10-in-1 Primer to protect my strands from the heat of my flat iron and prime it for styling. This spray is a very fine mist and works great to prep the hair for heat styling (my only con is that it’s very strongly perfume scented). 2️⃣ Next I ran my eva·nyc - Spectrum Far-Infrared Styling Iron through my hair, concentrating on the hair around my face to make sure it was evenly sleek and not frizzy. Personally, I only flat iron my hair from just above my ears down because I find if I flat iron the roots it leaves my hair too flat and without any volume. 3️⃣ Last, I misted on some of my KEVIN.MURPHY - Shimmer Me Blonde which is a shine-enhancing spray made for blondes, with violet-hued reflects to tone out brassiness (they have one for brunettes/redheads too!). I love this stuff, it feels nourishing but light and makes my hair shiny without being greasy. Honestly, it’s a super simple look but I always feel a little bit glam when I go for sleek + straight locks - it feels so timeless. Hope you enjoyed!!💁🏼♀️🤍

I’ve come to discover over the years that one of the most underrated hair styling products is hairspray. I think that people are intimidated by it or they think you only use it for special occasions (when you curl your hair or put it up in an up-do). However, hairspray is a great everyday product that most people can benefit from in their styling routine. The first step is finding the right hairspray! My new personal favorite is O&M’s Original Queenie Firm Hold Hairspray. The number one reason why it’s my new fav is that its clean beauty product which can be hard to find in an aerosol hairspray. This product is cruelty-free, PETA approved, and formulated without gluten, triclosan, MIT, and propylene glycol. It also has Sephora’s “Clean at Sephora” seal of approval. Queenie contains Australian native active lilly pilly which helps control oil in the hair leaving it looking shiny and clean as well as extending the style. Although the name says firm hold, I still find the formula flexible, not sticky. My favorite way to use this hairspray is to spray your hands with a little Queenie and then gently smooth all the frizzy hairs along your part, I then take my hands and use the rest to smooth and define my ends. After that I give my hair an all over spritz because this hairspray smells AMAZING and holds my curls or straightening all day!
Best protection for medium width hair
When I asked my hairstylist how comes someone’s hair looks like a lion’s mane and others like the fur of a rabbit, she taught me about different types of hair and how to test it. There is fine hair, medium width hair and coarse or thick hair. The test was to take a strand of hair in between the fingers and pay attention to how it feels. If it feels light, like you are not holding anything, then it’s fine hair. If it has a little volume, then it’s medium width hair. And if it feels like you have a good strand of hair between your fingers, the chances are we are talking about coarse hair. Medium width hair is obviously the desirable type of hair as it is easy to manage and not so prone to damage. Thin hair can be hard (or impossible) to style as nothing lasts and the same thing can be said about coarse hair. And, by the way, I associate thick hair with a lion’s mane and thin hair with the fur of the rabbit – very soft and smooth, but totally unsuitable for hairstyling. I’m lucky enough to have medium width hair, which means that my hairstyle lasts longer and I can try different things with my hair. However, I do have a tendency towards blow drying often and using the rotating brush and the straightening wand, so I was afraid that my hair will be damaged or become thin. I turned to my hairstylist again and this time she recommended a product that I got to love and use weekly. It is Keune Care Vital Nutrition Protein SprayKEUNE - Care Vital Nutrition Protein Spray and I used it every time I wash my hair, before blow drying or using any other hair tool. It’s a protein spray with multi functions. It nourishes the hair while also providing protection from thermal damage. I love that my hair looks great after using it for quite some months now and there is no sign of hair damage.

Will sunflower hair be the next fall trend?! This gorgeous color was achieved with a lot of lightening, but we got exactly where we wanted! To achieve this color it took a few steps, we had to pre lighten her hair. Prelightening is used for vivid colors. You ever wondered why you put splat or manic panic on your dark hair and nothing happened? Your hair wasnt light enough for the color to deposit. After we prelightened the ends and the midstrand I went ahead and added a beautiful mahogany color to her roots. This was a Demi-permanent haircolor which means it will fade as your hair grows out which is extremely useful for a haircolor that’s darker than your own! It’s really easy to remove over time. I then added in the fantasy colors (yellow and orange) to the midstrand and ends! I mixed a few colors together to achieve the perfect shades of yellow and orange because at the time I had highlighted yellow and neon orange😂 hairstylists work with what they can sometimes😂 these fantasy colors are semi-permanent so I had to blow dry the hair beforehand to make sure the color deposited, as well as leaving it on for 40 minutes to get the color to its maximum strength. You know what they don’t tell you before you get a fun vivid color like this? You have to wash with COLD water😂 like actually freezing water! I suggest to clients that they should wash their hair in the sink and then take a warm shower after because no one wants to take a frozen shower! I styled this with: amika: - The Wizard Detangling Primer KEVIN.MURPHY - Smooth.Again KEVIN.MURPHY - Anti.Gravity Spray KEVIN.MURPHY - Bedroom.Hair OLAPLEX - No. 6 Bond Smoother Reparative Styling Creme
Party hairstyles: beachy waves 🌊🌞
I haven’t been to a party since having short hair (thanks rona), but this is how I would style my hair if I were to go to one! I start with air dryed hair (because I am LAZY), but I think blow drying your hair beforehand would give you beautiful volume with this style! I applied sexyhair - Healthy Tri-Wheat Leave In Conditioner on wet hair and let it air dry. Then I sectioned my hair with a clip and applied AVEDA - Smooth Infusion Style-Prep Smoother heat protectant to the first layer. I am using a 1 inch curling iron. I skip using the clip and just wrap my hair around the barrel! I have had this curling iron forever, and will probably invest in a nicer one soon but for now this one gets the job done! Then I just take small sections of hair and wrap them around the curling iron! I like to leave out the last 0.5-1 inch to give me a more natural curl. I also hold the curl in my hand and let it cool to help prolong the curl! After letting down and curling the rest of my hair, I let my whole head set for 10-15 minutes. I don’t like to use hair spray because I feel like it makes my hair crunchy and frizzy, so at this point I am done applying products! After 10-15 minutes I tip my head upside down and shake out the curls at my roots with my fingers. I love a hairstyle with a lot of volume for a night out, so this is going to be my go-to hairstyle whenever we are allowed out of the house again :)
