I tried a totally personalized serum! 👀
I tried a totally personalized serum! 👀
I was gifted a serum from Atolla, that was customized for my skin concerns, and tailor made to fit my current routine. How it works: First I started by taking extensive quiz to get my skin’s history, tolerance, and concerns organized. I listed my main problem as clogged pores and scarring, and said that my skin was relatively tough (aka could handle a larger acid percentage) After filling out my form, and looking over my treatment timeline, Atolla sent me my custom serum made of: 1% Ascorbic acid ( Vit C) and 2% Alpha-Arbutin. The other supporting actives included Rice Extract Vitamin B5, AND Ferulic Acid. Seemed like a powerhouse combo to me! I applied my serum once a day in the morning (before SPF!!) and have used it everyday for about a month now. After my trial I would give this product a 3.5/5 stars. Atolla - Custom Serum The pros included being a “one-stop-shop” for a serum, because it was packed with so many actives. I also enjoyed the skin health kit they included in the package which allows you to test : moisture index, oil index, pH level, and sun sensitivity. You can go over your results with an esthetician, and honestly that’s a super helpful feature with those trying to learn more about skin health. The cons: Although I feel like it did help reduce texture on my cheeks, I didn’t see a significant reduction in my hyperpigmentation, which was my primary focus. Overall I think it helped to brighten and give a glow during daytime use, but not a lasting help for deeper scarring. You could try it out if you are looking to simplify your skin routine to just one serum! One thing to note is that as you continue the treatment, sending back the skin health kits, giving feedback etc. they refine your serum to be even more accurate/effective.

My New Beauty Buy for the Ultimate Glow 🤩
If you haven’t heard the hype about My Topicals.. I am here to drop a gem on y’all. My Topicals is the newest, trendiest, hyped brand out and for GOOD reason. A few quick facts about why you should also Stan this company WOC owned and operated (recent grads too!) that have partnered with dermatology to develop top notch effective formulas My Topicals donates a portion of its profits to the JED foundation to help youth dealing with mental health struggles. They are passionate about helping/speaking about how mental health is related to skin conditions and self esteem, which I think its great. The formulations are impeccable, with nearly every ingredient you need to either fade hyperpigmentation (faded) or sooth eczema (like butter). They are unfragranced, a big plus for sensitive skin, and use tubes for packaging which is great for hygienic purposes, but also an eco friendly option! Now I’ve been using both of these products for about 2 weeks and.. 🤯 they are here to stay in my routine for a long time. TOPICALS - Faded Brightening & Clearing Gel ❣️Faded (she is a little stinky~ a little sulfur smelling) is suuuuuper amazing for any hyperpigmentation, discolorations, or uneven skin. I use it underneath my healing ointment and in the morning you can already see how glowy your skin looks, and the dark marks lightened within the first 3 days of using it. SHOOK. TOPICALS - Like Butter Hydrating Mask ❣️Like Butter lives up to its name and is a silky, smooth, creamy product that soothes cracked, irritated and eczema prone skin that needs TLC. It goes on like a dream, and you can use it as a mask or a leave on treatment (like me hehe). Its hydrating cocktail of ceramaides, turmeric and ginseng for anti inflammatory properties, can repair a broken skin barrier like no other. I also really love that My Topicals only has two products out, and is committed to making them the best that they can. It’s a true commitment to quality over quantity, and these products are a godsend!

I love a good serum, seriously.. (it’s a problem 🙈) This serum from Purito is my absolute fave! It is a great multitasker, super affordable, and is made of super high quality formulations. It’s also PERFECT for sensitive skin, those with weakened skin barriers, or have dry flakey skin because it’s combination of ingredients that rebuild your barrier. This serum in unscented 🙌🏽 which is somewhat hard to find these days, and delivers a powerful skin cocktail without any irritating essential oils or harsh synthetic fragrances. Not only does this serum help reduce some of my inflamed acne that comes around my monthly hormone surge, but it also helps repair the dark spots left on my skin. This serum is going to be a staple in my routine for forever because it simply does it all! PURITO - Centella Unscented Serum Main power players ⬇️ 1. Niacinamide 2. Ceramide NP 3. Sodium Hyaluronate 4. Asiaticoside, Asiatic Acid, Madecassic Acid, 5. Peptide4 6. Panthenol 7. Adenosine

The Best Foundation for your Undertone 👁‍🗨
The Best Foundation for your Undertone 👁‍🗨
What is an undertone? Your undertone is the natural hue that is underneath the surface of your skin, and it can be super helpful to know which undertone you have in order to match your makeup. There are 3 main categories of undertones: warm (yellows and reds), cool (blues and pinks), and neutral (close to your actual skin color). How can you find your undertone? 1. If you check your veins right on your wrist where the skin is thin, you can determine your tone by the color of the veins. If you are a cooler undertone your veins will appear more blueish, warm undertones appear green, and neutral will be relatively similar to your skin color and don't show a visible warm or blue color. 2. Another easy tip is to think about what jewelry and accessories look best on your skin! If you find yourself gravitating towards gold, you most likely have a warm undertone, and likewise silver is very complimentary to cooler undertones. Neutral undertones can typically go either way! Swipe to see a few of the best foundation recommendations for your undertone, so that you can amp up your glow even more! Choosing the correct foundation for your skin, will help bring out your natural colors, it's a simple and easy way to pull together a full look.

Wait you’re NOT pre pooing your hair already??
Wait you’re NOT pre pooing your hair already??
Hey hey! I wanted to share my pre pro routine with the cherie fam. Pre-ooo aka a pre shampooing routine that has significantly helped my hair growth, health and appearance. Coconut oil is one of the holy grail oils for hair 🙌🏽 why tho? When we use shampoo to clean our hair, it actually strips away its naturally protective moisture. This can cause the outer layer, or cuticle, of the hair to become dry internally and look rough/frizzy. When the cuticle pulls back from the hair strand, it causes split ends 😳 Coconut oil is full of beneficial vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants that can restore health to lackluster hair, and using before shampoo can help form a protective barrier so you don’t loose all your moisture. Aloe Vera is also a great thing to add to your hair routine because it naturally contains salicylic acid which helps treat problematic scalps (itchiness, dandruff, overly oily etc). Additionally it is mostly made of water so it is super hydrating! Some of the benefits of this pre poo routine I’ve found: 🥥 reduces hair shedding/ hair fall 🥥extra shine 🥥healthier scalp >> promoting growth 🥥I’m able to go longer in between wash days I highly recommend everyone try a pre poo for a serious hair care upgrade!

Embracing Imperfections ⬅️ 🏷 My Beauty Goals
Embracing Imperfections ⬅️ 🏷 My Beauty Goals
Hi Everyone!! When thinking about what my beauty goals are, its always a mix of personal and skin level adjustments I’m working on. My big priority right now is becoming more comfortable with my body skin rather than just my face skin (that I’m quite proud of my progress!!) I grew up playing a lot of sports, which left me with scars, scrapes, everlasting bruises, back acne (thanks to sweaty jerseys) and more. I feel like sometimes these little imperfections have stopped me from living authentically. There have been summers I would rather wear a long sleeve shirt then show off my scarred back, or wear pants because I didn’t want my dark knees to be too obvious. Now looking forward to today I’m excited to work on these goals and start regaining my love for my body by embracing the scrapes and scratches that tell a really cool life story instead. Along with that, there are some of the more immediate goals I’m striving for: ⭐️Developing a body care routine ⭐️Be more consistent with sunscreen application on my body ⭐️Investing more into high quality products and learning how to take care of my body inside out.    I’ve really enjoyed reading everyone’s posts in the tag, hope to see yours too!
