*Sigh* another disappointment... Again, me scratching my head over here, wondering about these “high” reviews... So, when I did put it on my face, it was weird and filmy and white. Thank goodness for double-cleansing, else my face was not going to be pretty. Even after double-cleansing, my toner was still picking up way more makeup than I was happy about - and keep in mind, this was after my “minimalist” makeup routine that is essentially four products, including a moisturizer. Let’s not even talk about how pathetic this product is with eye makeup. No way would I buy this for myself. You’d do better with Pond’s cold cream, old school style, than this stuff.
DRUNK ELEPHANT-Slaai Makeup-Melting Butter Cleanser
I wasn’t going to initially write a review, because I didn’t feel as though this product was worth my time. However - looking at all these 4 or 5 star reviews...no way. Uh-uh. I need to be real for a minute. I’ve used other skincare products from this brand, and never have I been more disappointed with results like I’ve been with this mask. So for my sample (because, let’s be real, it would have been ugly had I bought this as a full-size). 1. Packaging for the mini was awful, but I don’t usually let that influence my score. However, upon application, there’s a super intense, bordering on uncomfortable tingle. Luckily, I decided this needed to be applied as spot-treatment on my T-zone, oily patches, because dear Betsy, this would have ruined my whole face otherwise. Unless you’ve got acne city or skin as oily as Snape’s, you have no business using this on your entire face. 2. I thought I loved the way it dried...until it came time to wash it off. I scrubbed, and scrubbed, grabbed a washcloth, scrubbed some more, and there were still annoying patches in weird places - and keep in mind, this was spot treatment. 3. Some reviews raved about how good it is at clearing pores, ridding blackheads, blah blah blah. I’m not buying any of that nonsense. I’ve been doing the 10-step Korean routine, because hello, pandemic life, I’ve got time, but what do I get? More blackheads than I had in high school, pores the size of Texas, and weeks worth of beautiful/getting there/smaller pores just absolutely ruined in a mere twenty minutes of using this product. And keep in mind - this was after my trusty toner and moisturizer. I’m so not happy and scared to see my pores in the morning, as I’m afraid this might take weeks to “ unclog”, but here’s the bottom line - You only have business using this on truly oily complexions with moderate to severe acne. Don’t even bother wasting your time otherwise.
GLAMGLOW-Supermud Charcoal Instant Treatment Mask
I wanted to love this product. If you know anything about ingredients, this formula is chocked full of some amazing vegan options (as it advertises). I could not have been more excited to try a new product. Glamglow dropped the ball here in two ways. One, that godawful, sickly sweet smell that comes with the product. Scents are one thing that make or break a product, and trust me, this smell will stick around with you longer than you overdone putrid great-great aunt’s perfume that she’s used to the point of being nose-blind, which sadly, does not seem to happen once you apply this product. Also, I need to talk about the “illumination” part. It’s there, trust me, but it’s a bit overdone and artificial looking on my fair/freckly complexion. This would only work (maybe) during late fall/winter/early spring weather - it would look way too artificial and “sweaty” for the very humid and hot weather my city offers. Like I said, this product will make some people very happy - just not me.
GLAMGLOW-Glowstarter Mega Illuminating Moisturizer
Please, do yourself a favor, and don’t even bother. I paid $6 for this at TJ MAXX, and I regret every cent. I’m pretty sure squeezing an orange on my face for the “Vitamin C” would benefit me more than this product. I LOLed a website that is advertising for this at a total of $35 retail. You’ve GOT to be kidding me!! In a nutshell, totally unscented, has a weird gummy feel upon application, like watered-down gelatin. Literally does absolutely nothing on my face except ruin every other moisturizer/primer/foundation I put on over it because the piling is so bad. So please, do yourself a favor and trust me on this one. Urban Outfitters, this company isn’t doing you any favors.
VALJEAN LABS-Glow Facial Serum
Do you believe in magic? You will after you use this product! This is probably THE holy grail for any kind of skin irritation or sunburn, and I never thought I’d replace my tried-and-true aloe vera for sunburns. Did I mention it’s super gentle, and that my skin gets zero bad reactions from this? Look at the ingredient list and you’ll realize it’s a gold mine of products and a true “bang” for your buck. Tata Harper, you might want to take note. I cannot stop gushing about this product!
REN CLEAN SKINCARE-Evercalm Ultra Comforting Rescue Mask
Oh my stars! I love the smell, I love how my skin feels during and especially after, and I cannot for the life of me find anything else quite like this little tube! I’m going to be so extremely sad when my tube is out and I have to buy more. I’m pretty sure this one is becoming a must-have!
ELEMIS-Papaya Enzyme Peel
Real Techniques Buffing Brush
I got this brush in their core set! Although the brush says it’s for buffing I use it to apply my bronzer. I find it to be fluffy enough and dense enough to apply my bronzer! I use the edges of the brush to apply the bronzer to the hollows of my cheeks! It is a synthetic brush. I have not noticed any shedding during wash or use. I’ve been using this brush for bronzer for years! REAL TECHNIQUES - Buffing Brush 💕SKINTYPE: oily, acne-prone, texture at times 💕SKINTONE: medium warm 💕HAIRTYPE: 1a, dark brown colour, oily scalp

Mac 168 Angled Brush
This is an angled fluffy brush I use to apply blush. It picks up a lot of product, I tap off the excess. It applies blush beautifully to the apples of my cheeks. I would not use this for contouring as the brush is too fluffy for contouring. This brush is synthetic. I did notice some shedding during makeup application and during the wash. #Mac Cosmetics - 168 Synthetic Large Angled Contour Brush[products]#[FiveStars] 💕SKINTYPE: oily, acne-prone, texture at times 💕SKINTONE: medium warm 💕HAIRTYPE: 1a, dark brown colour, oily scalp
