🚨Dupes Alert: La Mer vs The Ordinary🚨
Hi everyone, 🤩 Recently I purchased Lamer serum from Seoul airport, whose price is super super good!!!! I have used it for a week. I got to say. It surprisingly does the refine work!!! Initially, I just expected to use it as a regular serum, which is mainly focused on moisture. I have a combination skin type. However!!! I found my pores got minimized after using it! And my skin is softer and glows more than before. It is a massive surprise for me!! As for the moisture, it is just fine, nothing special (cu z it is hundreds of bucks) For the ordinary Squalane, I have heard it a lot before! I also purchased it from Seoul airport(my friends bought it and shipped it to me). I received it three weeks ago to share some thoughts about the difference between this and the Lamer one. The Squalane can really do a moisture job very well. Its drop feels super smooth and easily absorbed. I won’t feel my skin dry all day after I apply it every morning. Especially in winter times, moisture is almost the most crucial thing for skincare, and the ordinary Squalane can complete the mission with a not bad price. Dupe or not? I feel like, if you only need moisturizer, the ordinary Squalane is perfect, but if you want to fix other skin problems, may go for Lamer. All in all, up to your budget!😘😘

geornicholeTO is my life saver! Can't believe I've been living without this holy grail! I've sensitive, freakishly dry skin and am searching for something that could curb premature aging....hence I am searching for ONE product that can do all three...*drum rolls* THIS IS THE ONE! Three drops is enough for me to seamlessly glide a thin layer of moisturizer on top of my skin:) Definitely purchasing TO again!

i wanna talk about MOISTURE !!!!
Story time LOL; when I was younger I was SO frustrated with my acne riddled complexion- I went way over the top with the acne treatments. I had complete tunnel vision and I was HARD on my skin. Like too hard. And I completely destroyed my moisture barrier :( I still had the same skin concerns as before PLUS dry, FLAKEY, sore and irritated skin. It was rough, no puns intended - a really difficult part of my skincare journey - BUT an absolutely pivotal moment. If this sounds familiar.... let me help u out bb♡ The HOLY GRAIL product for me ended up being WELEDA - Skin Food Original Ultra-Rich Cream This is a suuuuper thick moisturizer. I would apply & reapply this as needed. There’s a lot going in the ingredient list here so make sure to do a patch test & check for irritation before you go full steam ahead. CeraVe - Daily Moisturizing Lotion For Normal To Dry Skin This is a fab, affordable, non comedogenic daily moisturizer to provide all over moisture for your face/neck/décolletage. Will be a lot less irritating compared to the heavier Skin Food cream. Using this CeraVe lotion with a face oil = major dream team. I likeThe Ordinary - 100% Plant-Derived Squalane Okok then some things changed. I (temporarily) moved to a city where the humidity was like 80-90% DAILY (bad hair days on the reg, yes) & I was terrified because I spent so many years thinking that I shouldn’t be moisturizing my oily acne prone skin. 🤡 However, I noticed my skin was loving the humidity. Bit of an a-ha moment when I realized I might want to look into upping my moisture game. Humectant WHO?¿ This is when I found hyaluronic acid😍😍😍 My go-to HA routine is to spray on some HERITAGE STORE - Rosewater Spray & while the skin is still damp apply The Ordinary - Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5 HA helps to retain moisture- a serious game changer for dehydrated skin 🥺 *start with a gentle cleanser & finish with SPF* Finally, the LOML, Aquaphor - Healing Ointment Skin Protectant CHANGED MY LIFE! Will prob dedicate an entire post to her at some point. This is fabulous as a lip balm & as a non-comedogenic occlusive (a seal to lock all ur products in). I started slugging (ew but like, 😍) ie applying a layer of this on top of my night routine, & will even pop this onto any tricky dry spots after my moisturizer on dry, colder days. Repairing my skin was so not an overnight process- it’s taken me over a year to get my skin to a healthy, balanced state. Patience is so so key 💧 I promise you can do it! This was a journey that really taught me to LISTEN to & really RESPECT my skin. I learned to care for myself in such a healthier way. My skin still isn’t clear of acne, but I’ve seen a big improvement in my complexion in general since incorporating these products/practices. If you have tips/q’s pls comment!! Thanks for coming to my ted talk love u
How to use Ascorbic Acid POWDER + my AM routine
Vitamin C will forever be part of my morning routine, because the 'before and afters' don't lie!! I experimented with a number of AM routines and different vit C serums from The Ordinary before landing on their The Ordinary - 100% L-Ascorbic Acid Powder Ascorbic Acid is pure vitamin C in its most potent, and also the most unstable form. It is incredibly difficult to formulate serums with L-Ascorbic Acid, which is why TO offers it in a powder form to slow/prevent its oxidation. You are meant to mix it with a liquid only as you need it. Don't worry, it dissolves in water based serums almost instantly and does not feel gritty! My "before" photo is from a little over a month ago, and my "after" was taken today (Nov 20) after using the ascorbic acid powder daily for 1 month! Both taken in the same room, same lighting, zero makeup. In addition to improving texture and decreasing breakouts, the difference it made in my pigmentation and skin tone is incredible! This is my AM routine and directions on how to properly use a pure powdered form of Ascorbic Acid. After cleansing, I add 1/2 a scoop of The Ordinary - 100% L-Ascorbic Acid Powder into my palm (start with only 1/4 of the supplied scoop until your skin adjusts). Then I add 2 drops of The Ordinary - Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5and 2 drops of The Ordinary - Amino Acids + B5. You're aiming for about a 20% concentration of vit C. Mix with a finger until the powder is fully dissolved then apply evenly over face and neck, avoiding eye area. It is advised to use additional antioxidants with vitamin C in order to minimize oxidation and increase its effectiveness. Therefore I immediately follow up with 2 or 3 drops of The Ordinary - Resveratrol 3% + Ferulic Acid 3% I then apply an oil to moisturize. I currently use about 3 drops ofThe Ordinary - 100% Cold Pressed Virgin Marula Oil and sometimes mix with a couple drops of The Ordinary - 100% Plant-Derived Squalaneif I need a moisture boost. (Feel free to use any moisturizer that you prefer, as long as it doesn't contain actives that conflict with Ascorbic acid.) The last step is always, always, always sunscreen! I use thinksport - Everyday Face Sunscreenspf 30 which I tint to match my own skin tone (see my previous diy post for this). Then proceed with makeup (or not). Some additional notes: Keep powder closed, away from sunlight, and DRY. Don't even open it in a humid bathroom after a shower! If it oxidizes, toss it immediately. It mixes most easily in water based serums, but can be added to other serum or moisturizer which it does not conflict with (consult TO's regimen guide). Mix only what you need per application, don't pre-mix a batch. And start out slowly since it does tingle/sting a bit. I hope this is helpful, but don't hesitate to ask me if you have additional questions. Thanks for reading!

Loved serum not so much the moisturizing cream
I received these sample size products from Lamer! I got the moisturizing cream and the regenerating serum. I would say the regenerating serum is amazing my face felt like baby butt after one use, my skin felt hydrated the texture felt great overall I liked it! The moisturizing cream I would say it’s OK it’s not worth the price point, but serum is amazing! I already see a huge improvement with serum my texture on my skin felt amazing and hydrated, and smooth after using it for week it’s worth buying!!
💡The Ordinary, The Extraordinary
When it comes to skincare, The Ordinary has put themselves on a whole new level that many brands just can't compete with. You may have heard of this Toronto based company before. It shook the beauty world to its core when it launched 4 years ago with a $6 bottle of retinol. Which, might not sound so groundbreaking now but back in the day, a bottle of retinol would set you back a good $30. They are nothing less than game-changers.
My sister was able to get this deciem peeling solution for me during her trip to NYC. A lot of people say it’s very similar to drunk elephant babyfacial, which I absolutely enjoy ! The colour is a little bit freaky and reminds me of vampires but I’m excited to try it 😂 . The Ordinary is one of the first brands that got me into skincare and I’ve had really good experiences with their products and currently still do. Their products are both effective and affordable so I highly recommend them!

$70 LANCÔME vs. $6.7 THE ORDINARY, which eye serum is my fav?
I am always been one for a good eye cream dealing with my puffiness of eye area cuz I can’t stop staying up late.☹️☹️ · LANCÔME - Advanced Génifique Yeux Light-Pearl™ ($70) LANCÔME - Advanced Génifique Yeux Light-Pearl Eye Illuminator Youth Activating Concentrate I have used LANCOME Advanced Génifique Eye Cream before cuz it features caffeine in it to help out puffiness of the wye area. So I got a mini size sample to get a try. This eye serum is liquid-like and very easy to apply. It has a special applicator to massage my eye area, helping serum adsorbing into the skin, that I don’t even need to touch serum at all!! It does work removing my puffiness, if I have enough budget, definitely will get full-size!!! · THE ORDINARY - Caffeine Solution 5% + EGCG($6.7) The Ordinary - Caffeine Solution 5% + EGCG Everyone is always raving about this eye serum to reduce puffiness and I just had to try for myself. The price is something won’t put you off and I wasn’t too concern not liking it. It has a heavier and thicker texture than LANCÔME’s, which makes it adsorb poorly into eye skin and a bit sticky, which I don’t really feel comfortable. But it does help reducing puffiness like other reviews online said. So it’s quite worthwhile thinking about the price, recommend u to have a try by yourself. Of cuz, if u have enough budget💰, don’t hesitate to try LANCÔME, won’t let u down. 😛

The AHA & BHA peel from the ordinary is a good peel that is less than 10 dollars. It does tingle. So please do a patch test especially if you are sensitive! You apply a thin layer on a clean, dry face for up to ten minutes. After use, my products especially serums and toners seem to penetrate better and it does help get rid of texture. It leaves my skin feeling soft. This along with SPF has help reduce some PIH on my forehead. Why not five stars? I have other peels that seem to work better for my skin.
The Ordinary-AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution
not everyone’s a winner
I really wanted to like this! I’m a big fan of The Ordinary, and I wanted to try this product out to even my skin tone and provide a nice glow to my face. I was actually instructed by Deciem (their parent company) to alternate this slowly in routine. I waited a while to make sure my skin wasn’t too dry or to oily so I could give this a fair shot. It does warn you about the tingling, but unfortunately, I experienced extreme discomfort and my face was red and sensitive for a while. I think you should give it a shot if you’ve had a good experience with vitamin c concentrations for the skin before. Some other products by The Ordinary that I love are: The Ordinary - Lactic Acid 10% + HA The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% The Ordinary - AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution

Pro-Xylane is plant-based sugar molecule originally developed by Loreal i. According to research, it is a sugar-protein hybrid made from xylose. Pro-xylane promises to stimulate the production of glycoaminoglycans (GAGs), fluids that nourish collagen and elastin and defend skin against water loss. As we age, we lose GAGs — and, consequently, our skin's elasticity and volume. It is proved to have the effect of helping to treat signs of aging like wrinkles and loss of firmness. As skin ages, the collagen production starts to slow causing skin support structure to breakdown. Pro-xylane here works within skin surface to boost collagen and elastin production to help rebuild skin from within. L'ORÉAL - Revitalift Laser Renew Super Serum This revitalization serum is formulated tith hylyronic acid and pro-xylane. One of the greatest ingredients here is pro-xylane with a concentration of 6% that can help to collagen in lasting and production. The whole line of Loreal Revitalift product is designed as treatment formulated with pro-xylane for aging skin. 3 main product benefits are to repair wrinkles, redensify and re-firm. This serum and moisturizer comes in a generous 1.6Fl oz dual chamber bottle with a large pump button for easy dispensing. It's lightweight and gentle on the skin, quickly absorbed by the skin giving a moisturized hydrated look. The pump acts funny sometimes so that is why I only gave it 4 stars. HR HELENA RUBINSTEIN - Replasty Age Recovery Age Recovery Night Cream is marketed to have the “a "band-aid effect" texture in a creamy balm that transforms when applied to the skin and wraps it in soothing comfort.” It is really pricy as a night cream. I heisted for a long time before making the purchase. I tried it once in my girl’s place and abosulytely love it. After did some research in the ingredients, I finally placed the order. It has 30% pro-xylane recommended for weakend skin, signs of aging and cosmetic surgery procedures. I really do love this product! It helps my skin stay supple and moisturized. I purchased this after getting a sample of it. It has a great scent. It goes on smooth without being sticky. From pricing, Helena is not recommended. Loreal is less in concentration 6% vs 30% but only 1/15 the price. L’Oréal wins 👍
