My workout makeup

Hi y’all! So before the pandemic hit and before I decided to be extra cautious to make sure I don’t get the virus and I don’t infect immunocompromised people in my family, I used to go to the gym with a full face of makeup. Yup. That girl was me 😂 How did I workout proof my makeup? 1️⃣ Well, it always starts with moisturized skin for me. The more hydration my skin has, the longer my makeup stays on. 2️⃣ Next, it’s definitely the primer. I’ve used the MAYBELLINE - Baby Skin Instant Pore Eraser Primer
before, and it’s a great silicone based primer! Nowadays I’m using the MANUKA DOCTOR - Apirefine Flawless Primer
since I’m trying to also add more skincare into my makeup routine. 3️⃣ Then, it’s the foundation. I’ve used foundations that are more for “active” lifestyles. This one today is the e.l.f. - Beautifully Bare Foundation Serum
I love how quickly it’s absorbed into my skin and it doesn’t move when I set it. 4️⃣ Obviously we need to talk about setting the makeup. For powder, I used to use the basic drugstore foundation powders before. I also used baby powder, like the one from J&J. I just make sure it’s mostly cornstarch and has some vitamin E. For sprays, my go to is URBAN DECAY - All Nighter Long-Lasting Makeup Setting Spray
which I’ve used on my makeup before to run in 5Ks. The rest of my routine is my normal makeup routine! Hopefully these tips help! What other tricks do you use to workout proof your makeup?

Mini ulta haul with product tryouts!
I had a few Ulta gift cards burning a hole in my pocket so I decided to get a few new items to try out. The first item I’ve been dying to try is URBAN DECAY - All Nighter Long-Lasting Makeup Setting Spray I wanted to see if it’s worth the hype/price tag. I like this product, but I’d like to use it a few more times. I’m going to do another post next month comparing several different setting sprays to see how the compare. The next item I used is the MILANI - Cheek Kiss Blush in shade cheeky coral. I like the shade and it wears nicely. But I did have to layer it to get the color payoff I was looking for. I also got another cult favorite, PHYSICIANS FORMULA - Murumuru Butter Bronzer I absolutely love this product. I love the texture, the smell, the finish. It’s all great, absolutely worth the price. And the last is another eye shadow pallet from profusion! #Profusion Cosmetics - Starlet palette[products]#[FourStars] I love this palette, although the shimmer shades need a wet brush to be impactful. What other make up productions would you like to try out?

New primer review!!!
Hi y’all! I saw this primer during a random Walmart run, and I had to try it! I mean this has “purified bee venom”! How cool is that? So of course, I did some research. Apparently purified venom is an ingredient in some skincare products. So it has anti-inflammatory and inflammatory compounds, including enzymes, sugars, minerals, and amino acids. It also has melittin, about 50% of the dry weight of the venom. Aka the weight of the venom once water is evaporated from the venom. And melittin has antibacterial, antiviral and anti cancer properties. In addition, bee venom has the peptides apamin and adolapin, which have anti inflammatory and anti pain properties. Finally, the venom also contains phospholipase A2, an enzyme and major allergen that causes inflammation and cell damage. Nevertheless, according to some research, the enzyme may also have anti-inflammatory and immunoprotective effects. Remember a lot of these benefits are still being studied so take everything you read with a grain of salt. Or 100. Suggested benefits include: ▪️ anti inflammatory properties ▪️ reduce arthritis symptoms ▪️ reduce wrinkles 🎉🎉🎉 ▪️ boost immune health ▪️ And many more! (Source: https://www.healthline.com/nutrition/bee-venom#what-it-is) So I had to try this primer! I decided to try it for 2 weeks on the days I feel like putting on a face, which is about 9-10 days in the past 14 days. I didn’t change much else in both my makeup routine and my regular skincare routine. And after those 2 weeks, the fine lines on my nose/between the brows and forehead are nearly gone! I absolutely love this primer! ❤️ While it does say that you don’t need to put foundation on top, that this would blur it out imperfections, it is lighter on my skin tone than others. So it probably would work better for blurring imperfections for lighter skin tones. I like this primer because while it’s not silicone-y to the touch, it still grabs onto my foundation and makeup and stays put all day long. Even when I’m doing yoga or playing pickleball! 😱 I definitely would recommend for at LEAST a patch test! I love the skincare benefits as well as how wonderful a primer this is! Have you tried this before? What do you think of it? Let me know below 👇🏽😊

Your skin reflects your diet
Hey y’all! I’ll be the first to admit, my skin was HORRIBLE in college. I did my undergrad at Rutgers in Chemical Engineering, with minors in math and polisci. So I was absolutely STRESSED OUT often and my diet reflected that. I ate junk food more often than I’d like to admit and I used to drink soda. (Yikes) And my skin reflected my diet and my stress levels. I had these weird dry dark spots under my eyes that would get super flaky during the spring time exacerbated by my allergies. And I had dry flaky skin in the skin between my lip and nose. And nothing I did helped. 😭 This is when I started making my own face creams using beeswax, aloe, jojoba/almond/avocado/coconut/olive oils (depending on what my skin needs), and essential oils. That definitely helped with immediate topical relief. But I made some huge diet and lifestyle changes about 3 years ago. 1️⃣ I started to work out more often. I used to hate physical activity because I felt like I will be judged and ridiculed. But working out has helped me get stronger physically and mentally. And that has been reflected in my overall skin. 💪🏽 2️⃣ My bf eats super healthy and I started to do so as well once we started dating. And I cut out junk food and soda almost entirely. (I snack sometimes but it’s not the same levels as before.) 🥗 3️⃣ I drink a lot more water! 💧 4️⃣ I started adding lemon juice in my water about 3 months ago to boost collagen production and clear up my hyperpigmentation from within. 🍋 These changes have made my skin look and feel so much healthier. I’m so glad I made these changes. I’m so lucky to have found a partner who supports me and comforts me and encourages me in every way. As a survivor of IVP, I’m still struggling with my own inner demons but I have someone by my side now who is helping me heal and become the best version of myself. 😇 I know some of these things are hard, especially now when putting food on the table can be difficult. But even just doing 30 min of yoga has really helped me with managing stress during this craziness. (Yoga with Adrienne on YouTube is my go to! She’s 😎!) Good luck, and I hope you’re staying safe and healthy. 🙏🏽 Let me know what lifestyle changes you’ve made 👇🏽😊 Happy Thanksgiving (to those in the US)! 🦃

Dior forever skin glow foundation, is it good?
Start using DIOR - Forever Skin Glow Foundation This fall, because I heard this foundation gives you super pretty and long lasting. My first impression of this foundation is that it is very light weight, and a little dewy. Does it last for 24 hours? Idk cuz I don’t wear it for that long lol. It faded away on my oily nose after 8 hours , but everywhere else stayed put. I used MAYBELLINE - Baby Skin Instant Pore Eraser Primer to prime, and a little Coty AIRSPUN - Loose Face Powder to set everything. Coverage: Medium (you can build it up, but not full coverage) Scent: yes, smells like perfume. I’m not a big fan of it. Will buy again? Maybe, but there are so many foundations out there that just like this. Especially recent years when the glowing skin trend became popular.

MAKEUP TIPS FOR LARGE PORES
So, since I have oily skin, my pores tend to be a little larger and more obvious. However, there are a couple tips and tricks to making them look smaller when I put makeup on - here’s how I do it. ➡️ Use a clay mask on the night of your event This is also an important one. It ensures that you don’t have any excess sebum in your pores, making them look larger than they really are. I would highly recommend doing this, especially if you’re doing makeup for a special event and need your pores to look smaller! ➡️ Ensure skin is super hydrated So if your skin is very well-hydrated, it’s going to be much plumper and full of water - this makes pores look smaller as the skin kind of presses together more, reducing the look of pores. If your skin is feeling dry or dehydrated, your pores will look more visible - so ensure your skin is super hydrated. ➡️ Use a pore-filling primer I like to use Maybelline Baby Skin, but there are many filling primers out there! The tip with this type of primer is to tap it into the skin, instead of spreading. It will (temporarily) fill the pores to create a smooth surface that the makeup will go over, creating the illusion of zero pores. Don’t worry, this doesn’t block pores - like the rest of your makeup, if you’re using a proper makeup removal method then you have nothing to worry about. ➡️ Always use a setting powder Setting powder, well, sets your makeup in place AND it helps to minimise the look of pores by creating a matte finish over them. They don’t get a chance to reflect light and show their true texture - making your skin look poreless! Full look product list: MAC - MAC Eyeshadow Sable MAYBELLINE - Baby Skin Instant Pore Eraser Primer wet n wild - Photofocus Liquid Matte Foundation KISSME - Kiss Me Waterproof Lengthening and Curling Mascara LUCAS' PAPAW REMEDIES - Lucas' Papaw Ointment Lip Balm innisfree - No Sebum Mineral Powder

serum foundation pt 2
hi again! so yesterday I reviewed the ordinaryThe Ordinary - Colour. Serum Foundation today I'm going over e.l.f. - Beautifully Bare Foundation Serum okay so to start off, I've used the e.l.f. one a few times before. honestly the first time I used it, I hated it with the fire of 1000 suns... for 2 minutes. the mibute it dried down, it made my skin SUPER soft and not oily at all! shade match: pretty good. I used shade fair-light and it was very close to my real skin. coverage: VERY SHEER. okay today I'm very red around my nose and mouth. this did not cover it, even after 3 layers. kind of disappointed in that aspect. that's my only negative comment though. on lighter makeup days this is a beautiful, super lightweight, natural looking way to even out your skin. also its e.l.f. and you know what that means... less $ to shell out! the clear winner between the 2 serum foundations ... e.l.f! less shiny, less messy, better finish when dry, doesn't get shiny after less than an hour. i definitely am going to try the ordinary formula again when it gets colder and drier outside. I just live in crappy NJ where it's still 70+ degrees most days with humidity and I'm a sweaty gal. also I'm sorry I didn't follow the same kind of format as the last post. I couldn't remember and basically the points and comparisons are the same. the 2nd pic is my whole finished makeup look using this foundation. I used a smidgen of a different foundation to tone down my redness.

Somehow I think this made me smell worse than without it! 😂😫😭 The first day I tried this out I was working in my salon and wearing a sweater (really bad time to try a new natural deodorant, I know) and suddenly I realized that someone around me smelled horrible. I’m not even a very stinky person, so on days when I have completely forgotten to put on any deodorant I don’t think I have actually smelled bad. But this was shocking! And unfortunately I do not give discounts for clients having to put up with this mess, so I just went ahead and worked a full day just straight up telling people that I used a new deodorant and I smelled bad. Don’t make the same mistake as me! Don’t buy this, and don’t try out a new deodorant at work 🤦🏼‍♀️🤦🏼‍♀️🤦🏼‍♀️schmidt's - Rose + Black Pepper Hemp Seed Oil Enriched Deodorant Stick #cheriecreator

hey!!! i’ve struggled with this strange looking acne for the past few years and have only just discovered something called fungal acne which i think it may be. pretty much no acne products have ever cleared it. across my forehead are tiny little bumps, although they’re not white heads, never get bigger, and most are not blackheads. i’ve recently started using Nizoral - Anti Dandruff Shampoo after reading good reviews that it clears fungal acne, however yet to see much change a week later. has anyone experienced anything similar or had fungal acne before? would really appreciate any advice or recommendations 👼🏽💛🧚🏽🤍

6 Skincare Tips from a Celebrity Esthetician
6 Skincare Tips from a Celebrity Esthetician
It’s been eight weeks since COVID-19 has caused us to shelter in place with the goal of putting an end to the novel coronavirus. While social distancing is playing an essential role in our health, the same can’t be said for our beauty routines. For beauty buffs, the lockdown has meant an abrupt halt to our routine visits to our facialists, dermatologists, and everything in between. What’s more, staying indoors has limited our exposure to vitamin D (which our skin needs to thrive), heeded unhealthy eating habits (which can wrack havoc on our skin), and turned us all into our very own (albeit mildly inexperienced) esthetician. To ensure our skin and well-being is taken care of during such a confusing time, we tapped into celebrity esthetician Renée Rouleau. Below, she’s sharing six self-care tips to practice as you social distance.

New to skincare! Please advise
New to skincare! Please advise
I am new to skincare and mainly use Cerave products. I don’t feel like it is helping though. I use a pre-cleanse, cleanser, toner, moisturizer (sunscreen in the AM). Clinique or Fresh pre-cleanse (when I wear make up), the rest is Cerave products. My biggest problems is acne around my child and mouth. It gets severe and really painful and often times happens overnight. Would someone mind sharing how I can heal my skin and get rid of recurring acne in problem areas?

My Beauty Journey
My Beauty Journey
* When I was a young boy I was obsessed with many forms of art. Being raised in a family with extremely glamorous women always fascinated me. As a child, my mother worked at Lancôme, and always brought a bunch of makeup home. I was so interested, and often found myself sneaking it and trying it on in my room. * As a child I’ve always had super thick eyebrows, I would get bullied for them so I would mess with them all the time. One day I really messed them up and didn’t want my parents to see it, so I took a pen and filled them in. This might sound weird but that pen really changed my life. I felt like it transformed my whole eyebrow ,when in reality it just fixed a problem that I created. * Being in Beauty for over 6 years now I’ve learned that I’m one tough man. I learned that it’s okay to not be perfect because what makeup will teach you that it can easily be taken off just as easy it was applying it. The fact that I can share my story with thousands of people through makeup is so special to me! This is something I will forever cherish. - Follow me on IG: Kingkiahh #CheriePartner #BeautyWithoutBarriers #CheriePride
