These products saved my acne skin! 👸🏼
La Roche-Posay clay mask 😃 I have had acne all my teenage life and into my 20’s, I’ve tried everything and until now nothing helps at all! This is a French drug store product that is sweeping the board for acne skin, hands down, no problem. It’s so great, what’s important to me, it’s not expensive 👍 This mask does exactly what it says on the box, un-clogs pores, controls shine, cleans without drying out my skin, leaving my skin feeling soft and clean and ready for my hectic day! I got mine on Amazon, it was on offer with the moisturizer, they do that from time to time! You really won’t be disappointed with the results, I promise! 💋 La Roche-Posey daily gel moisturizer 🙏🏽 Use this after the clay mask as it locks in all the benefit I got from the mask. This is so great for acne and I have found that it stops that horrible shine you get with oily skin and calms any breakouts. My purse is not unlimited, so I need something that is going to work that won’t break the bank and really gives me confidence. So good! What’s more, it works quickly to reduce the appearance of spotty skin, even blackheads. 👛 Primer by The Ordinary - ain’t nothing ordinary about this primer! 💥 Amazing product at an amazing price! So, so good. I love this primer because it hydrates my skin and blurs any acne spots or scars. What’s so great is you can use it under makeup or alone, it will make your skin look flawless, peachy even! 💘 Easy to apply, melts into the skin, feels SILKY to the touch! No heavy perfume smell you get with some products, so it won’t hurt your skin. The Ordinary brand seemed a little scary at first as it is all about the science, but it’s the science that makes this primer work and it works amazingly, all for a low price! So good! The primer keeps my make up in place all day long, morning till night and keeps those dry patches from coming back. At this price, it’s a win-win! You can thank me later! 😀

The Benefits of Thermal Water for Oily and Acne-Prone Skin
Thermal water is a magical ingredient that does wonders for my skin type. I have oily and sensitive skin, as well as inner dryness. My skin is also acne-prone. Ever since I discovered products containing thermal water, my skin has improved a lot. It has been calmer and has less redness and inflammation thanks to the healing properties of thermal water. I found out about this ingredient through the brand LA ROCHE-POSAY, which was introduced to me by my friend a few years back and the focus of this article. This brand is trusted and recommended by dermatologists worldwide, and my personal experience is that it truly lives up to its reputation thanks to the thermal water ingredient. Currently, my favorite products containing thermal water are the Effaclar Purifying Foaming Gel and the Effaclar Duo Plus, and using them in combination delivers fantastic results. LA ROCHE-POSAY - Effaclar Purifying Foaming Gel Cleanser for Oily Skin This is a very gentle yet effective cleanser that does not irritate my sensitive skin. It leaves my face feeling cleaned and soft without stripping off my skin. This cleanser is in a clear gel texture and lathers up nicely to a creamy finish even though it is soapless, thus, perfectly safe for sensitive skin. The thermal water ingredient in this product calms my skin; therefore, I feel comfortable using this day and night. LA ROCHE-POSAY - Effaclar Duo Dual Acne Treatment Because I have acne-prone skin, I often have a lot of hyperpigmentations on my face. This corrective moisturizer claims to target blemishes, imperfections, and marks, which I agree to a certain extent. The result is not drastic, but my skin does feel brighter and clearer. It has quite a thick texture but absorbs quickly into the skin and does not leave an oily finish. And it is perfect for my skin because it is oily and dry on the inside. It can hydrate my skin, and my face feels smooth and matte, which I love. I believe that the thermal water ingredient reduces the redness and imperfections of my skin. Overall, I would recommend people with similar skin type and skin concerns to try out this ingredient. My skin has benefited from it.
Best spot treatment
If you’re like me and don’t have overly spotty skin but when those pesky spots crop up you know they can be very annoying! There are many products on the market that claim to target spots as and when they crop up. I put two leading brands to the test to see who comes out on top. MARIO BADESCU - Drying Lotion This cult favorite is made with a blend of Calamine and Salicylic Acid. You apply the lotion overnight to help soothe and clear up pimples, blemishes and whiteheads without irritating the surrounding skin. This is suitable for even the most sensitive skin types, is super gentle and effortless to apply. I really love this product. I've been using it for a few days and I see the spots where I apply it to, getting smaller each day. This is my new beauty bestie - as I saw results literally after the second use, it’s my new go to, my skin is completely changed, I’ll never be without my drying lotion ever again! LA ROCHE-POSAY - Effaclar Duo Dual Acne Treatment This multi award winning acne spot treatment claims to reduce the number and severity of acne blemishes and helps clear blackheads and whiteheads. It's backed by dermatologists and includes 5.5% micronized benzoyl peroxide and micro-exfoliating lipo-hydroxy acid which provides fast, visible results in 3 days. This product is best used in the total range to see the full effects. It's recommended to use it in between the facial wash and facial cream. A little goes a long way. I use it on my entire face, and have seen a big difference in the surface and texture in my skin since I began using it. My skin hasn't been this clear in a long time thanks to this 3 step regimen that I'm using.

Products I am Obsessed with This Month
Kiehl’s I have always used my Chanel moisturiser. Well, mostly. Last month I went through something very weird with my skin. My skin suddenly dried out so bad that it was parched. The weather was warm and yet my skin was drying up really badly. So I had to use a different moisturiser as mine was not for dry skin. For someone like me who has never battled with dry skin did not know which one to choose. I did not want to use a product which would lead my skin to start producing excess sebum leading to breakouts. So my sister, who uses Kiehls products religiously, suggested i give it a try. I did some research and then bought this Kiehls moisturiser. It is not targeted specifically for dry skin but it has lightweight texture that hydrates the skin for 24 hours. I started using it. In 2 days my dry skin vanished and i was really surprised to see the healthy results. This is a moisturiser i have been obsessed for a month now. It does not let your skin breakout while hydrating it. Kiehl's - Ultra Facial Cream Glossier Futuredew Serum This serum is oil serum hybrid which is first of it’s kind and non-greasy. Its plant based extract and nourishing oil brightens and gives a lasting glow. Best feature of this product is also that it is cruelty free, hypoallergenic and non-comedogenic. I have combination skin but it is good for all skin types. Glossier. - Futuredew Ordinary Primer I usually like dewy primers but this matte primer is hydrating as well. It gives a blurring effect as a primer to give more defined finish to my make-up. It is non-greasy, hydrating formula also helps in pore reduction and and imperfections. The Ordinary - High-Adherence Silicone Primer
The Ordinary Hard on Sensitive Skin
I was immediately intrigued by this company since getting involved with the skincare world. by their minimalist packaging and low prices, that only made me more skeptical. I have combination and sensitive skin, and some of them hurt my skin more than others. The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% Starting off with my favorite product of the bunch, this serum really makes a difference immediately. I’ve been using it in the am and pm for 2 weeks and my overly stimulated oil production has almost CEASED. That being said, I have some dryer patches oh my face from the lack of excess oil and other reasons vv The Ordinary - Glycolic Acid 7% Toning Solution This is something I use every other night or so. The reason I’m giving it 3 stars is because for me, I think it may be making a difference? But over all it just makes my skin peel and sting. I do have sensitive skin so it could be that or the acid eroding my dermis tissue. Idk I’m still trying to find the line between “beauty is pain” and “omfg stop doing that, you’re violating your face”. The Ordinary - AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution This product I’m not too sure how I feel about. First of all, it stings like a mofo, and makes my face an overly-aggressive red for a few. My face is really soft though and my dark spots are lightening:) The Ordinary - High-Adherence Silicone Primer Very tacky product (in a good way) I’m entirely sure if it’s hydrating or non-comeogenic because I have my suspicions, but good primer overall if you have oily and sensitive skin. I wouldn’t call it long lasting, but I’d say you’d be safe for conservatively ~7hrs
Best breakout masks
Anyone else always have those go-to masks in their skincare arsenal for when the breakouts hit? I have two that I can always rely on to stop spots in their tracks and help to keep them at bay if I’ve been indulging in junk food or it’s my time of the month! They’re both quite different so I use them in different ways. If I can feel big cystic spots lurking under my skin then I use the Yes To White Charcoal Mud Mask. The white clay helps to draw out impurities, but unlike regular clay, it’s not as drying so doesn’t leave your skin with that tight, stripped feeling. It’s a really enjoyable mask to use if you don’t normally wear clay masks and it’s great for all skin types, especially combination like mine. I also love the applicator! You squeeze the product out onto a sponge tip which you then use like a brush to apply it to your skin. No mess!If a spot has appeared before I’ve had time to get it then I use The Ordinary’s Salicylic Acid Mask instead. This one is a little stronger and can be drying so I tend to only apply it where it needs to be rather than all over. Salicylic acid is amazing for treating blemishes and preventing new ones from appearing by keeping pores clear. It’s also so good for oily skin – I have an oily T-zone so sometimes I just apply it there and it helps to prevent the dreaded shine. This mask is quite hard to remove so I apply it with an old makeup brush to keep my fingers clean, and I always use a damp face cloth to remove it instead of scrubbing at my skin. It’s totally worth the effort though because the salicylic acid works fast to get rid of those spots!

bioré witch hazel deep cleansing pore strips
key ingredients: tea tree oil - tea tree oil is a natural antiseptic with antibacterial and anti inflammatory properties that both soothe and heal skin. witch hazel - witch hazel is a type of shrub that’s used as a remedy for a variety of skin issues related to irritation and inflammation. when applied to the skin, it can help soothe redness/irritation and inflammation. witch hazel is good for inflammatory types of acne such as cysts, pustules, papules, and nodules. it’s similar to drying lotions, as it helps to dry out the blemish. what it claims to do: bioré’s witch hazel pore strips claims to bind to blackheads and not your skin. it also removes dirt 2x deeper into your pores than normal pore strips. these ultra strips lock onto and remove debris and oil to unclog your pores. my experience: bioré pore strips are one of my favorite products to clean deep into your pores, unclogging them of any dirt and debris. although these pore strips do claim to remove blackheads, they only stick to the surface of your skin, which doesn’t get deep enough to the actual blackheads. they reach far enough to only remove bacteria and dirt from the pores. however, these strips are great for removing sebaceous filaments. sebaceous filaments are formed when the sebaceous glands in your hair follicles (which are inside your pores) produce excess sebum/oil. even though sebaceous filaments aren’t necessarily a bad thing, they can overproduce sebum which can clog your pores, leading to pimples. when you peel off the strip, you can see all of the sebaceous filaments, dirt, and oil stuck on the strip. i recommend applying a warm compress or steaming your face by taking a hot shower to soften up the pores to make it easier for the strip to adhere onto your pores, making it more effective. keep in mind that it may be more difficult to peel around the under eye area because that area is most sensitive, so try not to apply it too close around there. Black head removal while you sleep!
PEACE OUT - Pore Treatment Strips is the easiest way to fight blackheads while you sleep! Function: This product is oil absorbing strips infused with pore-refining actives that prevent blackheads and minimize the appearance of large pores. Targets: All kinds of skin types but specifically those with oiliness, enlarged pores, and acne and blemishes. Texture/Consistency: It is a strip that goes on a little tacky but not painful! Notable Highlights: It’s free of paraben, sulfates, latex, and phthalates. OPINIONS 💫 I really like this product but I wouldn’t say it does everything promised. It does take off blackheads, and absorbs A LOT of oils. One of my favorite parts is that it doesn’t not move around when you sleep, even for face sleepers like me! I have super sensitive skin and have never experienced breakouts or adverse reactions with this product. That is something I’ve run into with pore strips because the removing can leave me skin extremely red and marked - this does not! I also recommend that for better results you steam your face before and then pat dry with a towel. It opens your pores and lets the strip do the rest! I would recommend this product if you’re looking for a nice addition to your never-ending black head removal journey- haha. PRICE: It is $20 and you receive 8 strips, four are specifically for your nose and the others can be used anywhere else on your face. I tend to use it on my chin and cheeks! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Au Revoir Blackheads. You’re not welcome here!
Let’s talk about one my biggest love affairs with skincare, The Aztec Secret Indian Healing Clay mask. Safe to say....a cult favorite. It is an all natural powder clay, made of 100% calcium bentonite; Which is a type of dry, absorbent clay that forms from old volcanic ash. Bentonite clay has been found to remove bodily toxins upon application by absorbing them. Its a vacuum cleaner for things like dirt and oil and hardens on your skin upon a few mins of application. It’s marketed as the worlds most powerful facial with the purpose of deep cleaning the dirtiest of pores and it does not fall short of that. This product has been in my skincare cabinet for a little over 3 years & I wish I had discovered it sooner. When a friend posted it on her IG and swore by it, I ran after work to get it from the Vitamin Shoppe but soon found out I wasn’t the only girl in Manhattan with hopes of flawless skin. Apparently this was when this product had blown up and was sold out everywhere, I ended up finding it at a beauty supply store in Harlem after hours of searching everywhere. Thankfully now, you can find this $9 mask just about anywhere in the city (Whole Foods, Trader Joe’s, Rite Aid, Vitamin Stores, local grocery stores, amazon, etc) Being the girl that’s always had troublesome skin this mask promised to help get rid of any impurities on my face, Blackheads and Acne being top of my list. You mix the powder with either water or apple cider vinegar 1:1 & get this cream like consistency which you then apply to the face and leave on for 10 minutes. You start feeling your face tingle & tighten w/in a few mins & before u know it u need a straw to take a sip of water. It’s unlike any mask I’ve ever tried. After washing your face is a bit red but followed with moisturizer and it’s like a new face. Any active pimples/redness diminish & blackheads are gone. I use this once a week subject to how much trouble my face is giving me and I have seen this mask change my skin. If you haven’t tried this, what are you waiting for?! 5/5
AZTEC SECRET-Indian Healing Clay
The thayers natural Witch Hazel toner always got a place in my drawer and it's for good reasons. Witch hazel is one of those potent ingredients, that has a number of skin benefits including being soothing, acting as an anti-inflammatory, and having antioxidant properties. It's commonly used as a means of removing excess oil from the skin, so it can be useful for acne-prone skin. All of those benefits comes from high concentration of tannins which comes from the un-distilled process of extracting witch hazel leaves and bark. Tannins are astringents, but it doesn't dry the skin out like most alcohol-based toners. On top of that, it's formulated with all-natural ingredients, including Grapefruit Seed Extract as a natural preservative to keep the quality of its formula. This toner comes in different varieties and scents. I've tried Rose Petal, Lavender, and Cucumber, but I mostly repurchased the Unscented one since it has more minimal ingredients. And I don't mind with the herbal smell of traditional witch hazel. I use this to tone my face in the morning and at night. The consistency is light and non-sticky just like water, but better! It gives me the "clean" feeling that most non-alcohol-based toners can't give. With that said, it does a good job keeping my oils at bay. So I feel like this product can help prevent whiteheads and blackheads. I also found it beneficial to prevent razor burn or ingrown hairs, even to soothe redness and stinging from sunburns. For the aforementioned uses, I simply put some drops onto a cotton pad and sweep it across the affected area to feel instant relief. You’ve probably heard the claim that it will shrink your pores, well this product didn't do that to me. However, I always go back to this product because I know I wouldn't get any bad reaction from it. When I experienced discomforts, irritation or allergic reaction from other products, it calms the itching and redness which feels like a complexion reset. It doesn't sting even if I've freshly exfoliated or pricked a few active acne. I would say it's a great toner even compared to some high-end brands.

glam glow supermud clearing mask
key ingredients: six super acid blend - the super six acid blend in this mask contains a mixture of both alpha hydroxy acids and beta hydroxy acids, such as lactic acid, salicylic acid, glycolic acid, mandelic acid, tartaric acid, and pyruvic acid. these acids work together at different speeds on different layers of the skin so you get the benefits of both. they also unclog pores that result in skin problems and imperfections. activated - x charcoal - activated - x charcoal is an extreme absorption carbon that attracts toxins and dirt from deep down in your pores. eucalyptus leaves - eucalyptus leaves steep in the mud and charcoal, delivering the benefits and phytoactive components into the skin and formula. what it claims to do: this clay mask claims to clean and remove any toxins deep down into the deepest and toughest areas from your pores. with the unique formula that this mask holds, it’ll help fight problematic skin/skin imperfections and clogged pores. the super six acid blend helps loosen dead skin cells to exfoliate and sweep them away, leaving fresh and smooth skin behind. this mask is also recommended for acne - prone and oily skin. my experience: i came across this product about a week ago and decided to give it a try because of what it claims to do. this mask is great for clearing out and removing all of the dirt and debris deep inside your pores. it also helps refine the appearance of your pores as well, which makes it more difficult for any bacteria to clog them, resulting in clearer skin. i found that this product works best as a spot treatment overnight, especially for whiteheads since it draws out the pus and toxins from the blemish. it may take time for the active ingredients in the mask to penetrate and give their effect, so a treatment left in place on a blemish for several hours may be of benefit for many products. however, i didn’t notice a difference when applying this to an under the skin blemish, but it did bring it to a head quicker than it would without. this mask is also simple to wash off even if used as a spot treatment, which is left on for way longer than the recommended time. as the mask dries, the super six acid blend allows you to see the active ingredients being drawn towards your pores to remove debris. this is called the pore - matrix. psa: this type of clay mask isn’t recommended for sensitive skin because of the amount of powerful acids it contains, which is why i mostly use it only on my t-zone area because it isn’t sensitive. you also may feel a tingly sensation when applying this mask (it goes away after a few seconds) but this signals your skin is getting used to the different acids and that they’re penetrating into your pores.
