microdermabrasion at home 👀
I started getting microdermabrasion years ago at a spa. I got treatments once a month for about 4-5 years and noticed a huge positive change in my skin. I haven't been back to the spa since March of 2020, due to the pandemic. The MICHAEL TODD BEAUTY - Sonic Refresher Wet/Dry Sonic Microdermabrasion System with MicroMist Technology is now one of my favorite skincare tools 🙌🏾 I love that it comes with three diamond cut tips: coarse fine small fine The device has three speeds so you can dial it down or up depending on your skin type and what area of your face you're working on. My favorite feature is the mister 🙌🏾 it's cool and refreshing, sometimes I just use it on its own! The device comes with a bottle and funnel so it's easy to add your favorite toner or water without making a mess. I used MARIO BADESCU - Facial Spray with Aloe, Chamomile and Lavender Be careful not to overdo it! Too much microdermabrasion can damage your skin. I use this device once a week, or once every two weeks, depending on how my skin is behaving. Have you tried microdermabrasion at home? I have more details about this device on my blog, the link is in my bio! ❤️❤️

2 week-ish Bio oil scar update! 👀
it's been 12 days since I started using Bio-Oil - Multiuse Skincare Oilon my laparoscopic surgery scars. I've been using it twice a day, like the bottle suggests. I feel like I'm starting to see a difference, but I don't think the camera is picking it up like the eye does lol I think my scars are lightening up a bit... but the jury is still out on this. I'll post another update in 4 weeks. The bottle says this should be used for 3 months for best results, so, we shall see!

I love that you can use it to create soft and bold looks 💃🏾 maybe matching your eyes to your shirt will be a 2021 trend 😂

Glossier. - Milky Jelly Cleanser This cleanser is amazing for my oily skin. I use it morning and night and it does not dry out my skin at all. It has a faint fragrance that smells really good and “clean”. My skin feels super soft after I use this and it helps control my oil. cocokind - Rosewater Facial Toner I use this toner in the morning after I cleanse. I mist it directly onto my face and let it dry, sometimes I pat it in a little with my fingertips. I really like this toner because it is not too harsh and it is literally only one ingredient. The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% I use this in the mornings after toner. I have been using it for three months now and it has completely transformed my skin. For as long as I can remember my skin has been dull, covered in little clogged pores (bumps) on my forehead and cheeks and it’s looked horrible. Nothing I tried ever fixed my problem (and I tried everything). Then when I saw reviews for this I thought it was too good to be true but I was wrong. It has been heavenly for my skin and I’m really satisfied with the results. My bumps are gone and my complexion is extremely bright and glowing. CLINIQUE - Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion+ I’ve been using this moisturizer since I was like ten years old and I love it. It never makes me feel greasy and it makes my skin super soft. I use it in the mornings and night. BURT’S BEES - Skin Nourishment Eye Cream I’m really happy with this eye cream because it is for sensitive skin and the skin around my eyes is extremely sensitive. I tried using an eye cream once before and it literally burned the skin around my eyes, made it super red and dry. I was reluctant to try one again but this one has never done that. It makes the skin under my eyes super soft and I love it! I use it both morning and night. sun bum - Face Lotion SPF 50 I use this to complete my morning skincare routine. I like it because it has a slight fragrance but it smells really good. My skin never feels greasy after using it and it absorbs it really well. The only negative to this is that if it gets in my eye it burns a little but other than that it’s good. The Ordinary - Glycolic Acid 7% Toning Solution I use this as my night toner. I apply it with a cotton pad. I really like this because it literally just sucks out all the dirt from my pores from the day and makes my skin feel super clean. My cotton pad will literally be tinted brown after I use it (gross) but that means its really getting rid of all the dirt and gunk from the day. The Ordinary - Ascorbic Acid 8% + Alpha Arbutin 2% I use this at night and it makes my skin feel super clean and good. The Ordinary - 100% Organic Cold Pressed Rose Hip Seed Oil I use this at the end of my night routine, jade roll it on. I love it.

How you sleep can cause wrinkles!
Did you know that sleeping on your side or stomach can cause wrinkles! Mushing your face into a pillow (especially for hours at a time, over years of your life) creates unnecessary pressure, creasing, and pulling. All dangerous to your delicate skin. I've been a side sleeper my whole life (because I tend to snore on my back) and have formed wrinkles around the eye and chest (shout out to my heavy chested sisters!). I am currently in the process of training myself to sleep on my back. not just on my back, however, but elevated as well. Elevation will help with snoring and also help fluids to drain and not settle in my face. Bye bye puffiness! I picked up a wedge pillow from Amazon that has been extremely helpful with this. I also place a couple pillows behind my knees to increase comfort and prevent me from sliding down the bed. I've been doing this for a week and my face has zero puffiness in the morning now. Also, no pillow creases when I wake 🥰 I'm in the process of researching and ordering silicone skin patches and masks for sleeping and increasing the efficacy of serums and moisturizers. . Dermatologists use silicone sheets and patches to improve the look of scars, stretch marks, and wrinkles. Another thing they are great for is preventing TEWL (trans-epidermal water loss), so placing them on your skin before sleep can ensure you wake to a fresh and dewy complexion. They can also be used over sheet masks and serums to prevent drying and increase product absorption. (I may make another post on these in the future.) I will be using these, while sleeping on my back, to see if I can improve the look of the damage I've done over the past 40+ years. Wish me luck, my beauties!
Skin Update ✨✨
Okay this is a totally non filtered sun photo of my skin. Still working on minor texture this is due to my new skin routine (I posted about my morning and will post my night). I try and show my skin with new routines and products I use because I get so many ! The number one thing I will say is be consistent! I saw a post from @MelaninSkinCareAddict(great post you should go check it out) and I loved it and it inspired me to show results from some advice she saw. My last skin update was 12/22 which I showed a unfiltered close up of my skin and the breakout I had endure out of the states! PAULA'S CHOICE - Enriched Calming Toner Murad - Clarifying Toner innisfree - Jeju Lava Seawater Lotion sunscreen: at least spf30 TULA SKINCARE - Daily Sunscreen Gel Broad Spectrum SPF 30 ELEMIS - Daily Defence Shield SPF30 moisturizer: a great moisturizer is your friend! Worth it? UOMA Beauty Concealer + Contour Stick
UOMA Beauty Concealer and Contour Stick are very popular (at least in the makeup circles that I follow). UOMA Beauty in general has garnered a lot of attention, and, I finally got around to trying some products out. So, for these two products, I’m going to answer: are they worth it? Answer is: YES YES AND YES!!!!! These two products are amazingggg. First, the concealer UOMA BEAUTY - Stay Woke Luminous Brightening Concealer has a beautiful consistency that brightens and conceals without looking cakey. Retailing for $25, I think you get a BANG for your buck with this product. And this is coming from someone who has never spent more than $10 on a concealer 😂 Second, the contour stick UOMA BEAUTY - Stay Woke Luminous Brightening Concealer is a wonderful product that gives nice 2-in-1 action. I adore anything that is a multi tasker because I am constantly on the go and, well, late, haha. It’s simple to use, and they have a wide range of shades for a wide range of skin tones. UOMA Beauty in general has done a great job with their shade ranges, and the quality of their products is unbelievable. And that’s on beautifully Black and Woman owned baby 💃🏾 Final thoughts: I highly suggest these two products. I use the “bronze venus” shade for the concealer and the contour stick. If you are someone who is commonly left out for makeup selections in contour products and high quality concealer products, this is definitely a dynamic duo to give a try. Happy makeup hunting and thank you for reading ! ❤️

🥰About to try something 🆕🥳
NEIBOURHOOD BOTANICALS - The Daily Glow Facial Oilhas been on my radar after a friend raved about it during a exceptionally long FaceTime call. I saw it on sale and decided to purchase it. I was running out of my two facial oils -The Ordinary - 100% Cold Pressed Virgin Marula Oil and The Ordinary - 100% Organic Cold-Pressed Moroccan Argan Oil - and maybe I need to try something new. I’m hoping it lives up to the hype!

Multipurpose Oil: Get That Healthy Glow✨
I missed y’all 🥰 In light of the Christmas spirit here’s a favorite part of my tree 🌲 #Cosmedix - Remedy Omega-Complex Treatment Oil[products]#[FiveStars] This facial oil is amazing! In a full routine, adding a facial oil is ideal for sealing moisture and other ingredients. ✨If you want something for age prevention, wrinkles, fine lines, dry, or dehydrated skin.. this is for you! ✨Oils should be last after moisturizer and before a sleeping mask (if you use one for overnight uses). I got this beauty at a Boxycharm pop up deal for $9 it retails at $40! Highlight Ingredients: Safflower Oil Grapeseed Oil Pomegranate Seed Oil Avocado Oil Vitamin E The best things about this product: Absorbs Amazingly Light Weight Can be used ANYWHERE (my cuticles look amazing) Leaves skin super hydrated Only caution is the smell. It has a earthy lemon smell, that if you have a sensitive nose I would be careful. Yet, when you mix various oils that tends to happen.
