My Holy Grail Double Cleansing Routine!
For total transparency, let’s start with what my skin type is, I would generally describe my skin as combination to oily, with a greater emphasis on oily. I don’t have any such skin condition, except for extra-large pores, which produce oil at the speed of light! Moving on, ever since the Korean Glass Skin started dominating the internet, I have been read about the double cleansing routine, but due to classes and work, I never got around to trying it out myself. However, after last year’s wedding season, my skin was clearly asking for some love. So, I decided to incorporate the double cleanse method into my routine. So I set out on the journey to find the best products for my skin type and after much research, I found the duo of my dreams; Banila Co Clean It Zero Original and Nature Republic Aloe Vera Face Wash. The cleansing balm retails for almost USD 19 and comes in a huge jar of 100 ml. The packaging itself is absolutely stunning and it encompasses the most gorgeous pastel pink jar in the world. Later, I realized that they have recently revamped their style and their formula both! 2nd pictures of the jar and the pack to satisfy your aesthetics. On the website, the product is described as a cult favorite cleansing balm, which melts your makeup seamlessly, and leaves your skin clean. When you cleanse your face with an oil or a bam, it melts away the impurities and breaks down the excess sebum, which builds up in the pores. The new formula is enriched with Vitamin C and is free from any essential oils, and thereby, making it completely safe to use daily. I tried the product for almost 4 months before reviewing it and it has made such a huge difference to my skin overall. The skin feels clearer and my makeup stays on for longer! Let’s talk about the texture and fragrance. The product is completely free of any fragrance and is therefore suitable for all skin types, including the sensitive ones. The texture of the product is more like a balm than oil, but that’s clear from the name. You can scoop it out in your palm and massage your dry face with it, the heat from the skin will melt the product in the process. Then wash it off with cold water and follow with your other cleanser. The second step is the water-based cleansing for which I used the Aloe Vera Face Wash. There is not much to write home about and honestly, I just got it because of its price point that is $6.90 only! The product is described as a moisturizing foam wash on the website and has more of a foamy consistency, therefore, it is not suitable for any other skin type except for oily. Attaching pictures below for a better understanding. However, the combination of the two worked really well for my skin as aloe vera and vitamin C are two of my products. I would recommend you guys to check out this product and transform your skin!

Morning and night routine - suggestions?
Here is my AM and PM routine. My issues are mostly large pores and blackheads. I feel like my morning routine is missing something. We are trying for baby #2 soon so Retinoids and salicylic acids are out. Morning: CeraVe - Hydrating Facial CleanserI actually just started using this cleanser. Before this I was using Neutrogena - Ultra Gentle Daily Cleanser which I really liked, but the CeraVe had been recommended by so many I thought I would try it. pixi - Rose Tonic I like this toner. Not sure it is doing a whole lot for me. Thinking about trying fresh - Rose Deep Hydration Tonernext. The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% I really want to love this product and I am hoping with continued use I will see more results. I’m thinking of using this once a day instead of twice a day and maybe replacing it with something else. Maybe a vitamin C? CeraVe - Eye Repair Cream this has been working great on my dark puffy eyes. The Ordinary - Natural Moisturizing Factors + HA I’ve been using this for a few weeks. It is okay. I don’t love the way it feels on my skin and will likely go back to Neutrogena - Neutrogena Hydroboost Water Gel Moisturizer which I feel like was better for my skin. Sunscreens: I use CeraVe - Face Sheer Tint Hydrating Sunscreen SPF 30 on days when I am just at home. Unfortunately it does contain Salicylate which have been shown in animal studies to cause birth defects. So I will be discontinuing. MAYBELLINE - Dream Fresh BB Cream 8-In-1 Skin Perfector SPF 30 I use this during the week as a foundation because I have to wear a mask for a good portion of the day and it provides enough coverage without being too heavy. bareMinerals - Complexion Rescue Tinted Moisturizer Broad Spectrum SPF 30 PM routine: Same as above accept I double cleanse with BANILA CO - Clean It Zero Cleansing Balm Marble Edition 2-3 times a week at night I use The Ordinary - Azelaic Acid Suspension 10% I have only been using this for a few weeks, but it is one of the few products you can use for acne during pregnancy. 2x a week I use The Ordinary - Glycolic Acid 7% Toning Solution My skin feels great after I use this. I have noticed much of a change yet. But I am hoping I will over time. 1x a week I use The Ordinary - AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution My skin feels amazing after I use this. Unfortunately once we are pregnant I will have to stop using this one. Products I am planning to add: pmd - Clean Smart Facial Cleansing Deviceand pmd - Personal Microderm. These are both arriving in my Fall Welcome Causebox and I cannot wait to add them in! I’ll be able to continue to use both of these once we are pregnant and have heard great things about their effects on large pores.
Makeup remover: OIL or CREAM texture?
ABOUT ME：Combination dry skin，Acne Prone skin. Oil in my T-zone. ERNO LASZLO - Phelityl Pre-Cleansing Oil ERNO LASSO pre-cleansing oil is sold for $40 of 200ml. Light yellow oil. It cannot be treated as makeup remover or cleanser. It is pre-cleansing oil. What does this mean? ✨How to use: Before washing your face, apply it on your skin, then directly apply the cleanser. This product is for matching their main product, black soap. Official suggests us to use pre-cleansing oil firstly, then using the black soap. But I never tried this combination. I changed the black soap to my common cleanser. The effect is also great!I usually treat it as a massage oil for my face before cleaning. 🤔Why we need this? For example, summer is so hot and the temperature of our skin is hotter, while the winter has a low temperature and our face is relatively dry. So product can help us adjust the balance of skin temperature and condition. Be honest, when I first used it, I thought it was the worst cleansing oil I have ever used. I squeezed an appropriate amount of cleansing oil on the face with dry hands and dry face. Wash off with water after the massage. The result is still a layer of oil on my face. But now, I learned this product cannot be used as a cleanser. BANILA CO - Clean It Zero Cleansing Balm Marble Edition The other one comes from Korean, BANILA ZERO, 100ml for $20. Their prices are totally the same. Differ from the simple packaging of Erno lasso, banila zero is looked more cute, always in a pink package. The texture is white cream with low liquidity. In general, cream texture is more oil than others. But this one gives me a surprising feeling. ✨How to use: Massage on your face by circular direction by using your dry hands on your dry skin. If you feel your feel has become clean, wet your hands then massaging continuously. Under this way, the paste can be emulsified into cream. I always use cleanser again after this product. Both products, same size, same using way, same price. However, I prefer BANILA CO. Every time when I use it, I can feel more comfortable and cleaning! Actually, oil texture is always my last option.

Nature Republic Aloe Vera Foam Cleanser
NATURE REPUBLIC - Soothing & Moisture Aloe Vera Foam Cleanser I got this cleanser because it’s getting so cold and my skin is getting so dry and flaky. I have to kind of alternate between this one and the last Holika Holika one I posted about. This is more to calm my skin rather than clear any blemishes, and my skin does feel hydrated after use.
Cleansers: Skincare the Korean Way
Hey hey and another big heeeeeyyyyy~~~ So I'm back. Part 3? 4? I'm gonna go with part 4. Today is very important because I will be talking about the beginning of every skincare routine and arguably the most important VERY IMPORTANT part of every routine... CLEANSING!!! Cleansing is the best part of my day because after, I feel refreshed, clean, and literally 10x prettier (even if I’m not). ON TO THE CONTENT!!! 일단... First off... Take off your makeup. OFF WITH THE MAKEUP I TELL YOU!!! I use makeup wipes first, bur then I have to follow micellar water. Honestly, any one will do. I just use the GARNIER - SkinActive Micellar Cleansing Water All-in-1 Cleanser & Makeup Remover because it was a gift from a fan (thank you Elle from the meet and greet~~). Next, I talk about this a alot. Soo'AE - HEMP DREAMS CLEANSING OIL I’ve talked about it and I will talk about it again. Literally melts all that nasty off. Not only does it deep cleanse, but it hydrates as well. Can’t say the same thing about most other oil cleansers I’ve tried. Oil cleansing is the first part of double (or triple) cleansing. This clears your face of oil based nasty like sebum, SPF, makeup, any surface level pollutants from outside, etc. Super important because foam, water based cleansers can’t get that out. Next, we have to follow with my favorite foam cleasners, super light and airy. NATURE REPUBLIC - Soothing & Moisture Aloe Vera Foam Cleanser Talked about this earlier as well, super hydrating definitely has soothing effects. Since I tend to burn easily, if I have any redness from going outside, all gone once I’m done with this. The second cleanser I have to praise is the innisfree - Pore Clearing Facial Foam This stuff is heavenly. Not only does it deep cleanse my pores, it makes them seem smaller, absorbs any sebum, and also has a refreshing scent. All natural scent!!! The volcanic scoria dissolves after some time while washing your face. So the beads are not chemical or not a non-natural ingredient. It feels like you scrub your face, like a little bit, but it's also nice that the ingredient dissolves after awhile while washing your face. These are just some of my favorites, but of course you can use different products based on your skin type and your needs!!! I also recommend double cleansing by using an oil based cleanser and then a water based foam cleanser just because it’s better for my skin!!! Stay clean guys!!!
ABOUT Biore Charcoal Cleansing Micellar Water is my new favorite!! It’s specifically for oily skin, and It’s an all in one! It ✅ removes heavy makeup, ✅ frees pores from dirt and oil with its charcoal formula, and ✅ absorb excess oils to deep clean skin for a refreshed feeling! 😌 It’s hypoallergenic and non-comedogenic so won’t clog your pores! OPINION: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I can’t say it enough! This product is genius! Since it’s charcoal, it does sting when you put it on which means it doing something! When I had taken off my makeup with it, I was so surprised on how much it took off in just one swipe. I would highly recommend! It may be harsh for people who have sensitive skin, but it’s definitely worth the price to buy! And it saves you so much time!

Great K Beauty Cleansing Oil
The Face Shop Rice Water Bright Light Cleansing Oil is made for oily and combination skin. This Korean beauty oil cleanser claims to cleanse away impurities and heavy makeup from skin with its light watery texture. It contains rice bran oil and jojoba oil. The instructions are to massage in a circular motion on dry skin to dissolve makeup. Then wash off with Luke warm water or a foaming cleanser. I found this cleansing oil to perfectly do the job of removing heavy makeup. When you wash it off it turns a milky color (see in second picture on my hand). It does leave some oil even after washing with water but it is pretty light and I love the scent! I like it best when used as the first step to a double cleanse when removing a full face of makeup. If I’m wearing something light then I just use it on its own. This probably my favorite cleanser out of the Korean beauty cleansers I’ve tried because it is not stripping. Most importantly of all, it doesn’t break me out! I have sensitive skin so it may be because it mentions no added mineral oil. Either way, I love it! Rating: 5 out of 5 stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️Rice Water Bright Light Cleansing oil

Eve Lom Cleansing Oil Capsules
Function: These are single use oil capsules for removing makeup and impurities. They’re for all skin types and target concerns like dryness, acne, and oiliness. They claim to leave your skin hydrated for up to 12 hours after use. I like to use these as the first cleanse when I double cleanse. Texture: run of the mill oil texture. The capsules are small, but you really only need one capsule to cleanse your whole face. They have a natural, plant-y smell. The capsules are easy to twist open and are biodegradable. Experience: I love these for travel purposes! I have had many experiences where my products have spilled all over my bag, but these obviously don’t do that. Like i mentioned earlier, these are a great first step in my routine. They do an awesome job of removing my eye makeup, which is always a pain. I don’t notice an intense increase in hydration after using them, but the oil washes off easily and without an filmy residue. It doesn’t burn my eyes when I work it in and it feels silky smooth as you wash. I don’t love the smell, but at least there is no artificial fragrance added! I’ve used this for a few weeks now and I received it as a gift. I like them a lot, but they are pricey yo. I don’t think I would buy these for myself when I can get a cleanse just as good from a balm or another oil — even though these are really convenient. Also, despite these being biodegrade capsules, I can’t help but still feel a bit wasteful when I use them. Overall, they work really well, but I’m not sure if they are worth the price, hence the four out of five star rating. Price: $75 for 50 capsules
EVE LOM-Cleansing Oil Capsules
“makeup melting” balm
I’ve used this product around 10 times so I feel I can confidently give my opinion on it. Product info- So, as an oil cleansing balm it’s made to be rubbed into dry skin with dry hands, and it will take off any makeup and/or sunscreen you have on from the day. Oil cleansers are great for a first cleanse, because then you can use a deeper cleansing cleanser afterward. As you can see from the pictures, it is in solid form but once warmed by rubbing into your skin, it solidifies into an oil. My opinion- I did not dislike this product, however it is not my favorite cleansing oil/balm, for a few reasons. One being that it leaves a slight film over the face once rinsed off- however I don’t mind too much because my 2nd cleanser will wash that away- just inconvenient for the people who don’t use a 2nd cleanser, OR if I just wanted a quick cleanse sometime. Secondly, it stings the eyes quite a bit if it gets inside of them, and that usually happens with a makeup removing product as you’re taking off eye makeup, so of course that isn’t pleasant. Thirdly, the scent is a little strong- it isn’t a bad scent, it reminds me a lot of grape flavored candy. I’m personally not too sensitive to fragrance so it was fine for me but I know there is a lot of people who are so I’m sure that could be a little irritating to some. Overall- Because it’s a fair price point, I would recommend to people who need a makeup removing cleansing balm but don’t want to break the bank - however not if they have sensitive skin. But if they have normal skin, I would recommend. I think the product is worth it as it does the job it says and that is removing the makeup- which it does pretty well. That’s why I rate it 3/5 because the cons take off 2 stars but because it still works and does what it’s market to do at the end of the day and did not cause me any breakouts and/or irritation, so I give it a 3/5 stars. Charcoal cleanser and mask (oily skin)
⭐️ 𝗥𝗲𝘃𝗶𝗲𝘄 ⭐️ Mother Made, Active Charcoal Enzyme Powder Wash ($20-26, emothermade.com, Amazon, 0.8L) ——————— ⇛Beauty (⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️): This is a multipurpose cleanser and exfoliant for oily skin, which is supposed to be pure cleansing and may have a pore minimizing effect. You can also use this as a gentle exfoliant by using a little bit more, lathering, and letting it sit on the skin for a few minutes (contains papaya enzyme). It leaves the skin really clean and exfoliated, but not dry, which is unique for this type of cleanser. It is good for pore cleansing, and does a great job of removing excess oil without leaving the skin dry, which is good for oily skin. I’ve used other enzyme cleansers that stripped the skin or were too harsh. Similar washes at Sephora retail for 2-3 times this price, including one by Amore Pacific ($60, harsher than this, and is heavily fragranced) and Tatcha ($65). Wishtrend and Apieu also have similar products at the same price point. I would recommend this for days where you wear little or no makeup, or just need a gentle, exfoliating wash, or need a facewash for travel (lightweight and TSA friendly). I would repurchase this when I’m out, it’s a standout product at this price. ——————— ⇛Business (⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️, cruelty-free): I really admire a company that wanted to work with me after I rated them 3 stars on lack of information. They provided me resources and sent me more products to try (will be reviewing soon), with information in English, and directed me to their US website (emothermade.com). I LOVE that their shipping packaging is eco-friendly, and products are cruelty free, artificial preservative-free (preservatives are naturally derived and less sensitizing to the skin), and at a great price point. They’ve also formulated their products to reduce sensitizing agents, which I also appreciate. This is definitely a brand to explore for Kbeauty lovers and newcomers. ——————— I paid a trial fee of $3.99 to review this product
💦An affordable, clean cleanser
This cleanser by Derma E is gentle yet effective. I’m almost all out of it, and the bottle lasted two months of AM/PM cleansing which is pretty impressive. It’s formulated for sensitive skin and I never felt irritation. It did burn my eyes though so I would use makeup wipes or micellar water for eye makeup. 💸Derma E is cruelty-free, free of parabens, sodium lauryl sulfates, petrolatum, mineral oil, artificial colors, gluten, soy and GMOs. And this cleanser is only about $15! I like that it can be found at retailers like Whole Foods and SproutsDERMA•E - DERMA•E Hydrating Cleanser
