I truly don’t like doing before and afters especially when it looks like there’s barely any progress but I promise you my skin FEELS so much better than it looks and I’ve seen some amazing progress! I’ve tagged the products I feel have helped the most recently. It takes patience but little progress is still PROGRESS 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

Morning routine updated
Ok I’ve made a few changes to my routine and sometimes I keep switching a few things in and out depending on the day.... I start with The Ordinary - Glycolic Acid 7% Toning Solution which I love. I think glycolic acid is an important ingredient to have in your routine for oily skin and wrinkles and even acne too. I always use insta natural - Zinc Vitamin C Serum but I go between also using insta natural - Age Defying & Skin Clearing Serum which I love for acne, insta natural - Dark Spot Corrector I don’t notice a huge difference with this but it has great ingredients or insta natural - Skin Brightening Serum, Anti-Aging that has alpha arbutin to help brighten dark spots or hyperpigmentation. So I alternate with those! Love using COSRX - Advanced Snail 96 Mucin Power Essence to have a dewy glow and helps with skin texture and pigmentation issues I’ve recently added The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% to help with acne and oily skin and love it too. I top with a thin layer of Clindamycin gel and then moisturizer which I alternate also between a few different ones. BEEKMAN 1802 - Bloom Cream Daily Probiotic Moisturizer has great ingredients but a funky old woman smell I do not like, thank goodness I only have a sample size.... Honest has a great soothing moisturizer I’ve tried and also ARBONNE has a great calming moisturizer as well as a lightweight jelly moisturizer I go between. Then I do a few drops of The Ordinary - Ascorbic Acid 8% + Alpha Arbutin 2% and I’m done. I usually let it sit for awhile or at least a good 5 minutes while I do my eye makeup and eyeliner before I use any face makeup but I love the texture of my skin so far using this all together.

let’s talk neck care!
Neck and décolletage care! This type of skin care isn’t addressed as much, but it’s still an important step of skincare! I never really thought about it while I was addressing my face skin concerns, but I once read that it was good to bring your skincare products down to your neck, so I started doing that about 8 months ago. I think my neck lines are partly genetic, but they’re also due to how often I sit in bed staring at my phone, thus creating deeper lines on my neck. I wish I had a picture from 8 months ago, but my neck was pretty wrinkly, it had really deep horizontal neck lines that I couldn’t get rid of even if I stretched my neck. While I still have some horizontal lines on my neck, they’re certainly less visible than they were before. So what do I do exactly? I really don’t do much besides bring my toners, serums, sunscreen, and moisturizers down to my neck, and I massage it in in an upward direction. So with the product on my hands, I start to massage from the base of my neck up to my chin. I do this until I feel like the product has been absorbed. Massaging the product in an upward direction will help smooth the skin and prevent drooping. I certainly did not see results immediately. In fact, it took at least 6 months of doing this little massage every morning and night to see some change. I really just stuck to it and ended up doing it out of habit for many months, then one day I realized my neck looked much smoother than it was before. Here are some of the products I’ve been using on my neck (I usually use these on my face too): innisfree - Cica Toner with Bija Seed Oil innisfree - Green Tea Moisture-Balancing Toner CeraVe - PM Facial Moisturizing Lotion THE inkey LIST - Hyaluronic Acid Serum Kate Somerville - Liquid ExfoliKate Triple Acid Resurfacing Treatment FIRST AID BEAUTY - Ultra Repair Cream The Ordinary - 100% Organic Cold Pressed Rose Hip Seed Oil

getting off makeup and clear skin with rosacea!
okay... so I know I've posted this before, and Cherie is (devastatingly) closing down, but I thought I'd share one last post. This really works. one is a prescription and there are a couple items missing, so I'll add them to the pictures. Here is the order they say to put on skincare (as depicted) 1) makeup remover/wash (I use Queen Helene cold cream that I SWEAR by, sometimes BURT’S BEES - BURT‘S BEES Sensitive Facial Cleanser ) 2) Facewash/second face wash (I use DERMA•E - Sensitive Skin Cleanser and Joeseph anti Acne soap 10% sulfur) 3) Toner (I use THAYERS - Rose Petal Facial Toner ) 4) Serums (I use a few... my prescription Amzeeq, mostly The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% , and DERMA•E - Blue Light Shield Concentrated Serum ) 5) Spot Treatments (Murad - Invisiscar Resurfacing Treatment , tea tree oil when needed) 6) Eye Cream (not pictured - DERMA•E - Firming DMAE Eye Lift Cream ) 7) Moisturizer (2 different kinds depending on how dry I am- pictured: Alba Botanica Aloe Green tea moisturizer, not pictured: skinfix - Barrier+ Triple Lipid-Peptide Cream ) 8) Retinol: Now, because I have rosacea, I use a retinol alternative. The best one for sensitive skin I found is The Ordinary - Granactive Retinoid 2% Emulsion use at night only) 9) Face Oil: HEAR ME OUT: If you have oily skin, it's not the WORST thing to use an oil. As a matter of fact, it may work well. BEST ONE BY FAR IS ROSEHIP OIL. I can't tell you how amazing it is The Ordinary - 100% Organic Cold Pressed Rose Hip Seed Oil , and JOSIE MARAN - Pure Argan Milk Intensive Hydrating Treatment during the day) wear sunscreen during the day, and put it in place of retinol. I use Glossier. - Invisible Shield Daily Sunscreen it's a great light moisturizer, too. And at night in the winter if it's super dry, I'll put petroleum jelly around the corners of my eyes and lips. The results don't lie, Cherie babes (: comment below I'd you know of a better eye cream.

The Old and the New... Serum edition
The Old and the New... Serums for hyperpigmentation/texture edition The Old: The Ordinary - Azelaic Acid Suspension 10% This serum had more of a creamy moisturizer consistency, with a bit of a silicon-like feel. I know the texture is a turn off for some, but I actually liked it. Azelaic Acid brightens the skin tone while visibly improving skin texture and reducing the look of blemishes. It is a multi-functional support ingredient that also acts as an effective antioxidant. The new: GOOD MOLECULES - Discoloration Correcting Serum The main ingredient of this serum is tranexamic acid. It is also formulated with 4% niacinamide. This serum claims to improves the appearance of age spots, acne scars, hyperpigmentation, and sun damage. I’ve only used it twice, so not enough to give a review but I can say the packaging is not awesome. It is in a dropper bottle, except the dropper doesn’t work.

So I thought I would do a skin update. All the products I’ve been using have been tagged in the first photo. I’ve started this new regime a while back when my acne got really bad after I tried oil cleansing. And it’s been a long and difficult road since then and I noticed my skins needs have changed a little bit so I decided to update my routine. I have combination skin and the skin on my forehead is really dry and so is the area around my mouth but my nose and my cheeks are super oily. So I’ve decided to start usingThe Ordinary - Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5to help combat this as well as The Ordinary - 100% Organic Cold Pressed Rose Hip Seed Oilto further hydrate my skin. I also need a new sunscreen because I wasn’t a fan of the Neutrogena ultra sheer. The sunscreen would take a really long time to rub it in and if I got the sunscreen on my eyebrows or any of my hair it would turn white and flake, which wasn’t fun. So I’ve decided to try the Neutrogena - Hydro Boost Water Gel Sunscreen Lotion SPF 30. I’ve also started icing my face recently and I’ve noticed that it helps reduce inflammation from acne. And I’ve also noticed that my facial features have become a little bit more defined but only when I ice my face consistently. While I don’t have much acne around my cheeks anymore, i’ve noticed that I keep getting acne in my upper lip area in the same spots. Although I still don’t know exactly what’s causing this acne I did read that certain toothpaste can contain sodium lauryl sulfate, which can clog pores if you get toothpaste on your skin. So I’ve become hyper aware of toothpaste getting on my skin when I brush my teeth now but I haven’t been paying attention long enough to notice a difference yet. And because of the consistent acne around my lips I have hyper pigmentation and that area is kind of getting dark now. I’m using vitamin C and Azelic acid to treat the hyper pigmentation but I’m not seeing results as fast as I would like. Does anyone know of a way to get faster results or how to treat it more effectively?

My Differin Journey (9 weeks in and STRUGGLING)
Hi all, Around the first week of December 2020 I decided to start trying Differin Adapalene Gel to address my skin concerns. As some of my previous posts explain, I’ve struggled badly with oily skin, blackheads, extremely enlarged pores, and occasional acne, most of my teenage years and into my adult life (I’m 26 now). I have tried SO many products to try and help curb my issues (see previous posts for examples), and though they’ve helped a little, I’ve never been fully satisfied with the results... my skin is just stubborn! I decided to swap my retinol for Differin to see if it would target my issues a little bit better and JEEZ has this been a journey so far... So to be completely blunt, I’m discouraged. If you look at the attached photo, the picture with all the acne is me NOW. Yes, RIGHT NOW. The one WITHOUT explosive acne is my BEFORE Differin skin. Okay, now I’ll get into it... So it’s been about 9 weeks since I’ve started on Differin. In the beginning I noticed my skin was starting to feel really sensitive, which it never is. Any other product (Niacinamide, Hyaluronic Acid, etc.) felt like burning when I put it on, which is incredibly strange for me. My skin has been consistently pink ever since. I immediately stopped using any BHA, AHA or any harsh acid while using Differin and made sure to SLATHER on reparative moisturizer to help repair my skin barrier. Basically my skin routine needed to stripped to the bare minimum. Throughout the weeks, my skin flaked and peeled excessively, especially with makeup on. It looked SO dry and awful and felt stingy underneath (still does). Then about 3 weeks in, the purging started. It started off slow and erupted to where it’s at now on February 11, 2021. Purge pimples are so strange compared to my sporadic cystic acne bumps I’m used to getting. Purging shows up in a big breakout cluster of pimples, mostly small (not always), but definitely painful and brutal looking for me. Over the weeks it just got worse and worse. I’m getting pimples all in the same place for the most part — my lower cheek areas. It has been tumultuous and my skin has never looked this terrible in my whole life. I’ve done my research on Differin, and everyone says it is completely normal for your skin to get worse before it gets better (for me, A LOTTTTT worse). I’m hoping this is true because I really want to stick this out — I’ve already gone through the worst of it, might as well wait it out a bit longer. If you’re interested in Differin, just be prepared for what you’re getting into! I’m sure this will all be worth it but wanted to share my experience and help others with the SHOOKness that may or may not happen. I will definitely share updates in the future with hopefully better results! Anyone try Differin before? Was it this hard? Did your purging last this long? Words of encouragement? Thank you!! Differin Update - IT WORKS!!
Differin update!! These are no makeup pictures! The ones on the left are from the beginning of December 2020, before starting differin. The pictures on the right are today Feb 4th 2021. I am in my 5th week of using Differin. I am so excited about the improvement in my skin I could cry! I will definitely continue to use in order to improve my skins texture and reduce the scars that are left. I will list my am and pm routines below while on differin gel. AM routine 1. Wash face with water 2. NATURIUM - Vitamin C Complex Serum this is a nice lightweight serum! I am not sure if I have seen a dramatic difference in my skin but it does make my skin look glowy! 3. FIRST AID BEAUTY - Ultra Repair Face Moisturizer the perfect day time moisturizer for my dry skin. It feels very simple and soothing. 4. LA ROCHE-POSAY - Anthelios 50 Mineral Ultra Light Sunscreen Fluid SPF 50 5. A few mornings a week, especially if I am at clinical or work wearing a mask all day I will tone with PAULA'S CHOICE - Skin Perfecting 2% BHA Liquid Exfoliator it is non drying and helps unclog my pores and keep maskne at bay! PM routine with Differin 1. THE inkey LIST - Oat Cleansing Balm THE best cleansing balm IMO! 2. VANICREAM - Gentle Facial Cleanser perfect gentle cleanser that does not leave my face feeling stripped! 3 FIRST AID BEAUTY - Ultra Repair Cream just started using this and it is the perfect thick moisturizer that does not feel like it clogs my pores like the cerave cream did! 4. DIFFERIN - DIFFERIN Acne Treatment Gel PM routine without Differin On these nights I focus on products that will lighten scarring. 1. THE inkey LIST - Oat Cleansing Balm 2. GLYTONE - Acne BPO Clearing Cleanser this is a great gentle cleanser that fights acne. Has been working great for me! 3. NATURIUM - Alpha Arbutin Serum 2% just started using this so I can’t give it 5 stars yet. It is not irritating whatsoever and feels lightweight! 4. The Ordinary - Azelaic Acid Suspension 10% I love the texture of this and I think it works great to fade acne scars. Especially paired with alpha arbutin. 5. FIRST AID BEAUTY - Ultra Repair Cream

Differin progress... is this a purge or what?
Sorry this is gross.. I know my skin isn’t pretty right now. Today marks the 4th week I’ve been on DIFFERIN - 0.1% Adapalene Acne Treatment Gel Pump and also my new birth control (yaz). I have literally never, EVER seen my skin this awful and angry. Should I stick it out until the and of 12 weeks? Does this look like a purge or just a flat out breakout?! I’m freaking out.. I don’t even want to go outside looking like this. I’m also using Cetaphil - Cetaphil Moisturizing Cream am and pm, and cleansing with CeraVe - Hydrating Facial Cleanser . Not looking to add any more products. Sometimes I use a hydrating toner. The dryness and peeling has subsided but the pimples do hurt, my cheeks are tender to the touch and sometimes itchy but that has gotten better over time also. Please help!!!!! EDIT: i just bought the DIFFERIN - Daily Deep Cleanser BPO 5%, Neutrogena - On-the-Spot Acne Treatmentand HERO COSMETICS - Mighty Patch Original for Madewellto hopefully combat the horrible breakouts pictured above. just praying it doesnt over dry my skin.

I don’t know what to do
The first photo to the left is my left side of my face on November 3rd of 2020, the second photo the right is the left side of my face today Janurary 10th 2021 November 2nd is the first day I started tretinoin 0.025% Around December 15th I believe I decided to switch to differin instead because I had lost my Health insurance so I couldn’t afford it. Since then my skin care routine has comepletely changed Im not sure why my skin just keeps getting worse. My cysts and spots will go down and as soon as they are looking good I get a bunch of cystic spots all over, every single one of my closed comedones are turning into big red cysts and pimples that take forever to go away, none of my acne goes away within a few days. I feel like it’s just spreading and I’m getting more and more closed comedones as well. This is my routine *i started with tretinoin Nov 2nd 2020, I used it every 3 nights for a few weeks and then went on to use it every other night up until around December 15th 2020 I started using Differin i started using that every 3 nights for the first week and some, then I used it every other night for a few weeks and now I’ve been using it every single night consistently the past few weeks* AM •DIFFERIN - Daily Deep Cleanser BPO 5% OR VANICREAM - Gentle Facial Cleanser •LA ROCHE-POSAY - Toleriane Double Repair Face Moisturizer UV SPF 30 PM •VANICREAM - Gentle Facial Cleanser •e.l.f. - Holy Hydration! Face Cream - Fragrance Free •DIFFERIN - DIFFERIN Acne Treatment Gel My routine as you can see is very simple, my face is just getting worse and I don’t know if it’s because I’m purging still, or something is making me breakout?! I’m feeling hopeless 😩 my PIH and scaring is so bad already and it’s just getting worse :,( please help I’ll take any advice I could get. I’m seeing a derm on the 18th of this month I finally saved some money for. I’m hoping they can help me :(

1 week update
thanks to all lovely beauties out there to take their time and add a comment on my last post. I was devastated by breakout, i was having from last 2-3 weeks and nothing seems to be working. Well i guess too many exfoliants was making my skin too sensitive so now i am back to basics. I have started what i was doing in the beginning and that seems to be working just fine. I think i was selfish to have a great skin in no time 🥴. If someone is just curious what i am doing right now then lets go to products. AM: The Ordinary - Squalane Cleanser sukin - Pore Perfecting Toner Blemish Control it has tree oil which is good for acne prone skin The Ordinary - Vitamin C Suspension 23% + HA Spheres 2% The Ordinary - Natural Moisturizing Factors + HA LA ROCHE-POSAY - Anthelios XL Ultra-Light Fluid SPF 50+ as i have sensitive and oily skin this makes my face matte and oil free. I really like this one for oily skin or combination skin PM: The Ordinary - Squalane Cleanser sukin - Pore Perfecting Toner Blemish Control The Ordinary - Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5 The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% (only on spots and acne 2-3 times a week) The Ordinary - Mandelic Acid 10% + HA (once a week) The Ordinary - Granactive Retinoid 2% Emulsion (once a week) The Ordinary - Salicylic Acid 2% Masque (once a week) The Ordinary - 100% Plant-Derived Hemi-Squalane tea tree oil only on spots Even if i have listed so many items i feel i have very basic skin care routine as most of the products are being used weekly or only 2-3 times a week. But in the end this routine is working out for me and i am seeing good progress which makes me happy. Again thanks to all who suggested me before ❤️❤️

Tips Tricks Treatments For Acne Prone Skin
Tips Tricks Treatments For Acne Prone Skin
Acnes are formed due to hormonal changes, maturity, and dietary mishaps too. These result in excess production of sebum, clogged pores, and formation of bacteria underneath the skin layer causing infection. With the right tips and treatments they can be moderated, slowed down, and eventually get rid of completely. One should know which type of acne it is, if it even is acne or any other skin condition, and how to skillfully treat them either at home or with the help of skin experts.

Progress
Progress
I have oily acne prone skin and I have suffered with acne since high school. I got a few pimples here and there but as I began to get older my acne has gotten so worse. When the pimples went away my skin was left with so many dark marks. Mornings when I wake up I get like 15-20 pimples on each side of my face. Like every week!! Some spots where pimples healed new ones came I would also get big painful cystic acne. I would wear makeup to cover my skin because I hated it so much. I began my skin care journey October 2019 because I just had enough. I was trying out different products and my skin continued to get worse. I spent so much $$$ on expensive skin care products that did nothing for me. I did a lot of research and I decided to take pictures because it was REALLY BAD and I wanted to see my progress as I started my journey . My skin began to get worse before it got better. I found a great dermatologist and began using the ordinary products and tretinoin. My skin has changed and gotten so much better it’s more clear and smooth . It’s only been 10 months and I’m not where I want to be but I feel so confident. I still get pimples but not as much as before. I’m still working on clearing my skin and I’m trying to find a way for my skin to be less oily. I still have a lot of work to do. I no longer wear make up to cover my acne and dark spots unless I’m dressing up to go out. But I am so happy with my results so far!

If you don’t have these already you need them
If you don’t have these already you need them
I want to take some time to tell you all about this amazing product that has honestly helped with my acne so much AVARELLE - Acne Cover Patch these little patches are legit magic! They work to clear up new pimples over night and help recovery time. Let me tell you a little bit about how they work. 🧡Acne patches like this one have an active ingredient called Hydrocolloid which adheres to the skin surrounds the wound and helps keep newly healed skin intact. These patches work to absorb all the fluid in your pimple, pulling out the gross stuff, while protecting the pimple from picking or scratching. It is best to wear these patches at night and see the results in the morning. It works best on whiteheads and already exposed pimples. Unfortunately the results aren’t as great when it comes to cystic acne as it is only a topical treatment. I see results overnight! After wearing them to bed I see dramatic changes in the look of the pimples, they are less inflamed, usually the white head is gone, and it is no longer as raised or red as it was the evening before. 🧡One thing I also LOVE about these patches in particular is they come in a wide range of sizes, there are many different size patches to meet your coverage needs. There are even large 50mm sized patch squares that can cover areas like the cheeks and forehead more effectively if you are dealing with a large breakout, which can even be cut to better cover the area if need be. 🧡Most of these patches are also formulated with other ingredients like Tea Tree Oil, Calendula Oil, and Rosehip Seed Oil, which all have healing and anti inflammatory properties that help heal the breakout even farther. 🧡The last thing that I love about these patches and why I highly recommend them to people is the price point. These patches I bought off of Amazon for around $7.50 and they come with 40 patches. So this is definitely more budget friendly than other products with the same active ingredients. 🧡To summarize I can tell y’all how many times these little guys have saved me from a big painful breakout that is hard to coverup or treat without them. And they are 100% worth the money, this is probably my 3rd-4th purchase of a pack like this over the last couple years. I can’t recommend this enough. ✨As a disclaimer, I acknowledge that everyone’s skin is different and what worked for me doesn’t mean that it will work for everyone. In my reviews I only hope to explain my experience and give my honest opinions on the products, I would never recommend something that at the very least didn’t work for me✨

2 Weeks: TO's Azelaic Acid and Niacinimide Serum
2 Weeks: TO's Azelaic Acid and Niacinimide Serum
i've been looking to fix dark spots, remove blackheads, make my pores smaller, and help my acne. so, i was extremely excited to use these two products! unfortunately, as soon as i started using these, i believe i started purging because of the niacinimide. while this isn't horrible or the worst thing that could possibly happen, it still sucks and i'd rather i just not purge at all. i'm also not completely sure if this is purging, because i was also on my period (but i actually don't breakout this much when i'm on my period :/) so i'm not quite sure what this is. i honestly don't see a difference, but this could be because of the purging. i'm not quite sure what the azelaic acid is doing but oh well! i was genuinely hoping to see better results! but i'm still definitely feeling hopeful. i think i'm done purging, but we'll see! if anyone else started purging because of the niacinimide, please let me know how long you purged for!

Whew skin purging is NO JOKE😅
Whew skin purging is NO JOKE😅 ✨ Day 1 of actively using my new DIFFERIN - DIFFERIN Acne Treatment Gelversus Day 15. At first, I got super scared because it seemed like overnight my close comedones turned into huge, painful, pustules😭. I did a ton of research because I was unsure of whether my skin was purging or if it was reacting bad to the new products I was using. After a bunch of reading I learned that skin purging differs from a breakout in 2 ways: 1. Purging usually occurs in areas where you normally break out... whereas a bad breakout reaction would occur all over your face (aka where you’ve applied the product) 2. Purging goes away faster than normal pimples (which I’ve noticed my skin already feels and looks way better than it did last night) So if you think you’re possibly purging look for these 2 factors. You should also look at the type of product you’re using. Skin purging usually only occurs with strong active ingredients that cause rapid exfoliation. Products like: •Hydroxy Acids •Retinoids/Retinols •Benzoyl Peroxide •Chemical peels ✨ It’s been so hard not to pick and pop at these GINORMOUS pimples all day but I’m just try to be patient and allow my skin to turnover and push all the gunk to the surface. If you think you may be purging right now, just stay patient and let the products do their job. It’s all normal and apart of the process. 😅😊
