A must have toner?
I absolutely ADORE The Ordinary and what they stand for. There is so much price gouging in the beauty industry and frankly I have a very hard time paying over $20 for anything especially beauty related. I know the saying is you get what you pay for but this and a couple other brands work hard to show you that you CAN get the same quality skincare for reasonable prices. I love how incredibly transparent they are and the fact that they really listen to their customers. This toner is no exception. What is glycolic acid? Glycolic acid is a type of alpha-hydroxy acid (or AHA) that's derived from sugar cane. Of the AHAs, glycolic is the simplest in structure and the smallest; it has the lowest molecular weight. The smaller the molecular weight, the better it penetrates your skin. What are the benefits? AHAs work by loosening the glue-like substance that holds dull and dead skin cells on the topmost layer of your skin, revealing newer, healthier skin. It also stimulates new cell generation, resulting in improved skin texture, tone and a brighter complexion. The Ordinary - Glycolic Acid 7% Toning Solution I bought this from Ulta for $8.70 and I was surprised at how big a bottle it was! The directions say : Use ideally in the PM, and do not exceed once-daily use. -After cleaning, saturate a cotton pad with the formula and sweep across face and neck. -Do not rinse off. -Continue with additional skin treatments as needed. I use this every night except for the night I use my chemical peel mask. It truly does get every last stitch of dirt and makeup off my face. Warning to people with sensitive skin, it does tingle pretty heavy some nights but it is not severe at all and goes away super quickly. My skin texture feels so amazing and looks amazing after every single use. My skin just glows ✨ the only thing I’m not crazy about is that it does dry somewhat tacky. But if you wait a few minutes before doing your next step in your skin care routine the tackiness will go away. I had some textured bumps on my chin and jaw line that went away after two days of use which is crazy!! This doesn’t dry out my skin like so many other toners as well. Another WIN from an amazing skincare brand ❤️❤️

Kardashian’s Youth Secret
Kim Kardashian says she swears by a $10 serum to keep her skin looking youthful, and I add it to my 20s anti-aging weapon list. I'll just put it out there: I'm 23. I used to feel like I have a few more years before I start to worry about signs of aging. I was not overwhelmingly concerned about crow's feet, sagging skin, dark spots, wrinkles, fine lines, or any other signs of aging. The truth is, I was wrong. 🌟Early 20s = Prevention 🌟 At this stage, the goal is to prevent the onset of ageing. This is the best time to form good skincare habits that are consistent and effective. The Must-have thing for anti-aging, I would definetly say a RETINOL product. I‘ve mentioned a million times how much I love retinol. They are the one thing that’s actually been proven to treat the skin, to build collagen, but also to reverse photoaging. Pick a mild, over-the-counter retinol product that is not irritating or too exfoliating and start using it every other night, and you can mix a little moisturizer with the retinol to make it more tolerable. I've seen a beauty interview about Kim Kardashian, and she says she swears by a $10 serum to keep her skin looking youthful. Just as obsessed with The Ordinary as the rest of us. Kim Kardashian West also shared her favorite beauty products for slowing down the aging process. One of the products is the surprisingly affordable —— The Ordinary - Granactive Retinoid 2% Emulsion It's a retinoid active, part of the family of age-defiers that helps reduce wrinkles. While retinoids (a.k.a. a vitamin A derivative) often get a bad rep for being irritating, The Ordinary's formula is designed to make the serum gentile while still being effective. The $9.80 serum claims to brighten skin and even out texture. I've been using it for a year now and I love it. The price is so good, and the results are even better. My skin is super soft and got a new glow. The deep scars on my chin are almost gone. I even think it slightly smoothed my laugh lines. I am amazed! At first I used this about once a week, but now I'm using it every night. I start with a hydrating serum/lotion and then I add the retiniod. After that I apply facial oil and moisturizer to make sure that my skin doesn't get dry. I only use it in my evening skin care routine, and in the morning I apply sunscreen to protect my face. My skin is quite used to acids since I've been using . But this product gives much better results at a much better price point. Totally worth a try! Extra tip that you should be doing at any age: your neck should be part of your skincare routine! It is a thin layer of skin, that without appropriate care, can be a telltale of your maturing age. Always pat your moisturisers and serums onto your neck. Sharing is caring.

Let’s talk about vitamin C brightening serums
Let’s talk about vitamin C brightening serums. If you’re looking to turn your dull skin more radiant and bright, while helping fade dark spots, these kinds of serums are probably for you. There are many on the market that claim to have great, wonder-working properties for your skin, but they can vary tremendously by price point. We’ll start with The Ordinary - Ascorbyl Glucoside Solution 12% At about $13, this serum claims to brightening the skin tone and reduce signs of aging. It comes in a dropper style bottle that is UV protected and a few drops can be used twice a day. It is alcohol-free, oil-free, silicone-free, gluten-free, vegan, and cruelty-free. The TATCHA - Violet-C Brightening Serum 20% Vitamin C + 10% AHA is a whopping $88 and claims to soften, smooth, and brighten skin for a more even skin tone. This serum contains 20% Vitamin C, 10% AHAs, Japanese Beautyberry, and Japanese Angelic Root. It comes in a pump style bottle and 1-2 pumps can be used in the evening. It is oil-free, fragrance-free, and cruelty-free. Now that you know the specifics, let’s get into the biggest difference: PRICE! There is a $75 price difference between the two products which is insane. The ultimate question then becomes; does the price make a difference in the product? In my humble opinion, both are beautiful products that do the jobs that they claim. I love the TATCHA one and reach for it when I am having an especially bad skin day, but once the bottle is done, I will not be repurchasing simply because it is way too expensive for me. I will go back to my Ordinary one. It does the job perfectly. Final Thoughts: If you’re looking for luxury, go for TATCHA. But remember they both do essentially the same thing. The Ordinary gives your skin what it needs without breaking the bank.
