Best Discovery of 2020! Face Oils! 🤩

Good morning/day lovely’s! I’m in the midst of recalibrating, learning and making more content to prepare for the future so pardon for some inconsistencies in posting! Anyways TOOOODAY...it is time to tell you about my favorite discovery in skincare for 2020...OILS! I never really thought I needed a face oil or would like it because I assumed that all oils were dense and took a long time to absorb into the skin. However, after introducing myself to Tsubaki Oil from Oshimatsubaki, my life changed! Tsubaki Oil is Japanese for Camellia Oil and it’s made from cold-pressing the seeds of the Camilla Japonica trees. It has high amounts of Oleic Acid and prevents transepidermal water loss. Your skin can naturally loose hydration through what’s called, “insensible water loss”. This means that throughout the day your skin/body looses moisture to keep you in a state of homeostasis. You can’t feel/sense it and there’s no way of providing exact measurements of how much you loose. Putting an oil after your moisturizer aids in avoiding transepidermal water loss and a barrier for protection against environmental factors. Not to mention, it can help heal acne scars, dry patches, redness, skin conditions, etc. My acne scarring has been healing quite well to a point where you BARELY notice any discoloration and BARELY have any dry patches anymore. I haven’t bought the DRUNK ELEPHANT - T.L.C. Framboos Glycolic Resurfacing Night Serum
since having Oshimastubaki’s oil. My textured skin in my eye bag area have gotten softer and the fine lines are a wee bit less noticeable. I have tried both Camilla Oils in the photo and discovered some primary differences between them. With Tatcha’s oil you do get Camilla Oil, but you also get a lot of other ingredients like squalene, extracts, rice oil, etc. As for the other one, it’s one ingredient, which is the seeds that make the actual oil. I do feel as if Tatcha’s Oil is a bit “overdone” in a sense. If we are primarily talking about hydration, adding squalene isn’t necessarily needed because camellia oil is already hydrating. At some point in my life, I thought Tatcha’s oil was very well worth the price tag. However, that’s not the case anymore since I bought Oshimastubaki’s. I appreciate Oshimastubaki’s for its fast absorption and it doesn’t leave a greasy feel. Tatcha’s oil does stay on the skin longer most likely due to having Rice Bran Oil in its ingredients. Rice Bran Oil has a fast to medium absorption rate, so you may feel more “shiny” or “greasy” for a little while longer. I bought my oil through Amazon! Make sure it is authentic because there are some places/companies that will sell a different version of Camellia Oil. I highly encourage everyone, even oily skin to have a cold-pressed face oil tailored to their skin. It can really help the absorption of your current moisturizer and give you added benefits by providing necessary fatty acids & protection. It also looks amazing with makeup!

🤦🏻‍♀️Hyperpigmentation Around The Mouth🙅🏻‍♀️
You have got great skin. But the one thing that stops you from stepping out naturally without any makeup is the dark skin around your mouth. Is this true? You have tried everything from DIYs to skin lightening creams. But the pigmentation around your mouth has remained your stubborn friend, right Why Is The Skin Around My Mouth Dark? 1. Hyperpigmentation 2. Weather Conditions Sun exposure and darkening of the skin. In very cold weather, if you lick your lips and the area around it too often, it can discolour the skin and make it look darker How Do You Get Rid Of Hyperpigmentation Around The Mouth? 1. Exfoliate If you exfoliate the area around your mouth regularly with a gentle exfoliator, it can remove dead cells and help to lighten the skin. Opt for a chemical exfoliant as it will not scrape the skin which in turn may worsen the condition. 2. OTC Skin-Brightening Creams Skin brightening creams can be effective in reducing the dark area around the mouth. Look for ingredients such as glabridin (a licorice extract), kojic acid, vitamin C, grape seed extract, azelaic acid , arbutin, curcumin or niacinamide, These block the production of tyrosinase which is needed by the skin to make melanin. 3. Acid Peels Your dermatologist may use a salicylic acid or glycolic acid peel to treat the dark skin around your mouth. However, these peels do not offer a permanent solution and the pigmentation can return. These peels penetrate deep into the skin to repair the damaged cells. Post treatment precautions like staying out of the sun, applying sunscreen and protecting the skin can make the effect of the peels last longer 6. Natural Remedies You can also use natural remedies to treat the dark skin around your mouth. Most of these natural ingredients can be found in your kitchen. Unless you have an allergy to any of these, you can try using them to get rid of the pigmented skin. Exfoliate with Papaya Papaya has fruit acids known as alpha-hydroxy acids, which is a chemical exfoliantAHAs are used for dry skin and to anti-age, and works to improve skin by removing the top layers of the skin through weakening the lipids that bond them together, thus removing dull and dead skin cells and revealing healthy skin cells. Soothe Skin and Reduce Spots with Almond Oil The presence of Vitamin E and niacin help with hyperpigmentation and improving skin tone,” she says. Because sweet almond oil is non-comedogenic (meaning it won’t clog your pores) you can add it to your nightly routine as a makeup remover or moisturizer to help protect the skin barrier. Reverse Photo Damage with Tomatoes Tomatoes are naturally rich in lycopene, which has multiple health benefits, including sun protection Brighten with Yogurt breaks down dead skin cells thanks to lactic acid, which is found naturally in dairy products. Using a yogurt with cow’s milk could be effective in calming the skin, since it has lactic acid. Lactic acid is an AHA, which improves discoloration and age spots

Ominous title but that’s just how I’m feeling... lol. I just received the much raved about DRUNK ELEPHANT - T.L.C. Framboos Glycolic Resurfacing Night Serumand quite frankly... I’m shocked how tiny it is given it was $90.00! I don’t know what o was expecting but my goodness this better resurface my skin so well that it’s as smooth as a baby’s bottom! No but seriously, I have pretty bad #maskne given I’m a registered nurse and have raging hormones (and crippling anxiety). So I’m hoping this makes my skincare dreams come true. Side note: now that I’m starting a gycolic facial serum and still am using my salicylic acid pads, I figured I’d reintroduce and resurrect one of my most trusty and hydrating companions: L'OCCITANE - Immortelle Divine Youth Oil This oil is my absolute favorite oil and has made my skin looking supple, hydrated, and calm just with occasional use. Because this too is expensive, I use it very sparingly! A little goes a long way! Amazing for dry and acne prone skin due to it being noncomedogenic and very lightly fragranced. Love L’Occitane products (I totally used to work for them!) Have any of you had amazing success with the glycolic serum from Drunk Elephant? Any major pros or cons? Share your insights!

Oh! HERBIVORE's EMERALD Oil, how I adore you!💚💚💚
I have acne-prone skin and I never thought I would love cbd skincare like I love this product! It's rly a life savor for those who suffer from acne! HERBIVORE - Emerald Deep Moisture Glow Oil It's a full-spectrum CBD, which means it includes a total range of cannabinoids, and the presence of small amounts of THC (less than 0.3 percent) results in an "entourage effect." Think of this as power in numbers as all the cannabinoids work together to be extra effective at calming redness and boosting hydration.  In my case, it soothes and repairs acne breakouts and skin inflammation well, even getting rid of acne permanently if used consistently. It leaves the skin greasy, but that's bearable. It definitely has a bit of a weed smell but goes away when applied How I use it:  After applying LANCÔME - Advanced Génifique Yeux Light-Pearl Eye Illuminator Youth Activating Concentrate, I'll warm 3 to 4 drops of this oil between my palms, then press it where there's skin redness or acne, pressing it more to boost its absorption, avoiding my T-zone as much as possible. Since summer is coming and I have oily skin, I only use a toner, a serum, and an essential oil in my night skincare routine, skipping the facial cream. It's a bit greasy, so I only use it when I have skin redness or sudden acne breakouts. I highly recommend this for those with acne-prone skin. Do you like the product? Share with me!😘😘

I was kindly gifted this Luxury CBD Beauty Serum along with microdose lipgloss by Saint Jane beauty. Now I’m always hesitant to try face oils & serums because I have very oily skin & I’m cystic acne prone. How gorgeous is this luxury gold & matte black design? I had never tried CBD oil of any kind and a luxury CBD beauty serum at that. SAINT JANE - Luxury CBD Beauty Serum Saint Jane is a small American founded & owned company that’s products are made out of California, they are 100% pure, non toxic, vegan & cruelty free. I really am obsessed with Saint Jane so I became a SJ affiliate. When I was first gifted their lipglosses a few weeks ago they weren’t in Sephora yet & im happy to say today they are now & they are also “Clean”. That’s a little about the brand..., Okay, let’s get to my newest fave product, the luxury beauty serum. It’s a combo of 500 mg of the highest quality CBD & 20 powerful botanicals. Again, it’s all natural, smells fresh & is lightweight. A little goes a long way I use 1-2 drops and that covers my face and neck generously. I’m so grateful that it’s not thick, I really hate heavy moisturizers, oils and serums. It absorbs fast & leaves a gorgeous dewy glow. So why is CBD good for the skin? CBD functions as an anti-inflammatory, it calms and soothes the skin. This is especially important for those like myself who are acne-prone because acne in its many types is an inflammatory condition. There are tons of studies out there but, dermatologists say that CBD oil(including SJ highest quality CBD) is known to reduce redness & clear breakouts. I really do love this product so much, if you have any questions, feel free to leave them below!! Happy Friday Beauties!!!

TLC not for me... but I’m not going to waste it
TLC not for me... but I’m not going to waste it
DRUNK ELEPHANT - T.L.C. Framboos Glycolic Resurfacing Night Serum A while back I tried this product out for about 6-7 weeks so I feel like I got a good idea of how it would work for my skin. In the first three weeks I noticed little white head pimples and some peeling but I thought my skin was just purging and get used to the product. As the weeks went by the peeling and pimples continued so I realized it was an irritation. I tried lessening the frequency and/or diluting with moisturizer, HA and oils to see if that would minimize the irritation. I never had a huge reaction or redness so it was difficult to tell whether I was just getting used to the product or it was causing a minor irritation. At the end of the day I think this product was just too strong for my skin and I couldn’t get it to work for me. Once a week and extremely diluted was the only way I could use it with no irritation and I didn’t really see much benefit from such an infrequent use maybe I would with more time. While I do think this would be a good product if your skin is more tolerant or used to acids or if you don’t have sensitive skin like me the serum did not work for me. Just goes to show you just because a might work for one person it doesn’t necessarily work for everyone. Unfortunately in the skin game I end up with allot of trial and error. Although il the product didn’t work for my face, I do really like this product for my back. I started putting one pump on my upper back where I usually get some breakouts every other day I haven’t seen a single breakout on my back since. The skin on our bodies is thicker and more resilient then on our face and skin in our bodies can usually tolerate higher concentration of acids. I would never buy the product just for my back because of the cost but I’m using up the rest for this.

This face oil by Biossance is truly a wonder for my skin. I tried a sample size of it a little over a year ago and it really was one of the first oils that actually helped with my acne and sensitive skin. So when they had this full size as apart of a huge set, I jumped at the chance to finally add this oil to my routine. I feel as though it works well for most skin types. I have semi dry/oily sensitive skin and this oil doesn’t irritate or cause any redness. It has a very subtle rose scent to it. Nothing too over powering. You only need a few drops to apply to your entire face and neck. I feel as though it works well with even acne prone skin. It doesn’t cause any breakouts... but it does help heal and soothe already prominent blemishes. It leaves your skin super soft in the morning!!! BIOSSANCE - Squalane + Vitamin C Rose Oil
