Color-Matching Foundation Just Got Easier! #Tips

It’s taken me YEARS to get one foundation to be the right consistency, formula, and COOOOOLOOOOR. I’ve searched every brand under the sun for the right shade and undertone and they would always lean too pink, too yellow, or too white. If this sounds like you USE THIS TOOL! and it is AMAZING! To keep things short and simple, your skin tones are primarily composed of three colors - red, yellow, and blue. Those who have deeper tones may use more blue or even a bit of black. Those who have olive undertones may need to use a bit of green. This tool essentially gives you all of these colors! Keep in mind that this product does NOT help in increasing coverage, so you still have to find a formula that suits your skin. It’s best to not be too far off from your skintone or else you’ll have a lot of tinkering to do. Now by using this tool properly, you won’t have to go out and make another return or hunt for another foundation shade! Using the video as reference, here is what you want to do: 1. Put The Foundation on Your Face I recommend doing this because by directly putting the foundation on your face, you are able to clearly see what undertone pulls through. You’re first looking how the tone pulls on you(too pink, too yellow, too gold etc). I find putting it directly on the face works better, especially if you’re wanting to color match to a particular area of your body. I would rather use this method than to constantly mix in a bowl and guess how much pigment to put in it. However, if you want to do it this way, it’s totally fine! 2. Dot/Apply the Colors Onto Your Face! The creaminess of this product helps in application for liquid/cream foundation formulas. You’re welcome to use your finger to dot on your face. If you have a powder formula, it might be difficult to use alongside this palette. In the video, the foundation leans too pink. Since this product leaned too much on the pink side and I have a slightly warm peach/yellow undertone, I added more yellow to create a warm tone. If your shade is more yellow, add red. Then, I added white to lighten the shade to make sure it doesn’t look like I have jaundice. For every skintone, more than likely you will need yellow to start with, UNLESS the foundation is already too yellow or gold. Those of you who have deeper skin tones, add a wee bit of blue. Blue helps create more depth in darker skin tones. 3. Blend and Examine Blend the pigments into your foundation using a beauty blender for best results. This will allow the foundation and pigments to blend into each other nicely. WAIT ABOUT 30 SECONDS TO A MINUTE. It’ll take some time for all of to blend in with the formula of your foundation, so you can see what else you may need to add. You’re done once it matches you! 🥳
