Soft Glam with Anastasia Beverly Hills 😍
I thought I would share a clear photo of what is my Go-to routine for daily makeup 😊 Believe it or not, I actually prefer not to put on foundation if I’m out and about. I LOVE just going out with a little concealer, some lashes, eyeshadow, and lipstick. I don’t put on foundation because love my cheeks because they’re naturally rosy. I also really appreciate the dimensions of my face. I thought I would show this photo because 1. I love how my eyeshadow looks. It’s hard to sometimes get my camera to show the eyeshadow colors for what they truly are. This eyelook is amazingly soft and wearable with some awesome dimension. 2. I want to normalize “nice photos with blemishes”. It never really occurred to me that some people really get down on themselves when they take a good photo and become discouraged when they see one or two blemishes. I feel like if I can show that I can embrace mine, it can help others embrace theirs 😊 For this look I used: ANASTASIA Beverly Hills - Soft Glam Eyeshadow Palette

Tips For Flawless Matte Foundation on Dry Skin!
BAM! OMG. YOU GUYS. This has been THE BEST makeup I have done on my face and it actually feels good to have on! I don’t feel cakey and I look good in EVERY 👏 TYPE 👏 OF 👏 LIGHT! The first photo is of my skin up close and personal. The second is how it looks far away! Here are some tips to get a comfortable matte finish on dry skin! I usually don’t fully go crazy over products but THESE ARE BOMB. 1. Get a setting powder that’s hydrating and use a BEAUTY BLENDER to blend the product in. Let’s be real. I hate baking and always thought a brush would be better at applying powder. A brush is good, but a dry beauty blender is the S**T! When I switched over to this technique after watching Wayne Goss’s video on flawless foundation, my contour and blush were game changing. They didn’t disappear after 30 minutes from the time of application and it set my foundation to a wearable finish. The key is to not slap on a ton of setting powder and to use what you got before dipping in for more product(thanks Wayne!). Even though my other products were powder, nothing built up! Woot! I used BECCA - Hydra-Mist Set & Refresh Powder 2. Concealer first, then foundation! I got into the habit of putting on concealer first before my foundation. I used a full coverage creamy concealer and blended it out to later set with setting spray before adding my foundation. This way, my concealer does the bulk of the work in covering my blemishes and my foundation works on providing even skin tone to the rest of my face. The setting spray allows the concealer to not move around once it’s time to put on foundation. By blending your foundation into your concealer, it allows you to have that second-skin finish without harsh lines. As usual, I went with clé de peau BEAUTÉ - Concealer Broad Spectrum SPF 25 in shade Almond And this is my favorite foundation that’s an EXACT MATCH for my skin!! I got shade 102 ÍPSA - Retexturizing Foundation 2018 Autumn New Item 3. Take your time blending! This is also a tip from Wayne Goss. Most of us spend about 2-3 minutes blending. I personally spend 3-5 minutes blending foundation into the skin and ensure I use every last drop of foundation from my sponge onto my face before going in for more. This way, you won’t put too much on the face, which would then cause creasing/caking. Also if you focus majority of the foundation on “thicker” areas of the skin (I.e jawline)and blending it upwards towards “thinner” areas of the skin(I.e eyes), you’ll less likely feel like your skin look flat and one dimensional. Happy Blending! ❤️
Awesome Concealer for Dry/Textured Skin
THIS. IS. THE. JAM. EVERYONE. I thought I would forever struggle with concealer and go through the cycle of using one and maybe liking it for 2 weeks to then end up in the trash. I like concealers that provide coverage without heavily creasing, accentuating my textured under eyes/skin on my face, and providing that “second skin” look. When I first bought it, I thought I had less then subpar hopes for it. I’ve been through the ringer in trying concealers. I’ve tried Nars, Urban Decay, Becca Cosmetics, Lancôme, Dior, etc and they either didn’t get my skin shade correct or the texture was off. I use clé de peau BEAUTÉ - Concealer Broad Spectrum SPF 25 and dot it onto my face/blemish areas. Let me tell you...IT COVERS. I used this concealer in creating my “how to color correct/cover acne blemishes post”! I also find that it feels weightless on the skin! Sometimes I would have dry bumps underneath my eye (thank goodness for under-eye cream) that can become really noticeable after concealer but it wasn’t the cause for this one! After application and a light sweep of powder, the concealer stays for over 8 hours without shifting. Keep in mind though that with any full coverage concealer/foundation, it can be very easy to overdo the application, which can cause everything to look cakey at the end of your makeup routine. Less is more! This stuff is spendy ($73 each) but it is THE perfect consistency when it comes to a full coverage cream concealer. I have yet to make a dent out of it because it lasts so long! I use the shade Almond(Right swatch in second photo) and I’ve included a ONE-SWIPE swatch in the second photo. It does look really dark yellow/orange. However, it’s not actually that dark/orange/yellow. As reference, I am B40 Sand in YSL’s All Hours Foundation, or 2W in Guerlain’s L’essentiel Natural Longwear Foundation. My skin tone is neutral with the SLIGHTEST hair of yellow undertone. If you are about one-two shades darker than me you can go for the shade Ocher(Left swatch in second photo). I highly recommend this concealer for those of you who have dry/textured/acne-prone skin. Again, it won’t accentuate fine lines/texture. The formula is buildable and weightless. I didn’t break out from it and here’s another awesome perk: *whisper* It had a blurring effect on my pores! Yay for smooth-looking skin! Hope you all get to try it out yourself! Happy Concealing!
Fall Makeup 🍁
ANASTASIA Beverly Hills - Soft Glam Eyeshadow Palette - By far one of the best neutral palettes on the market. I love the powdery yet velvety quality of the shadows as well as the wide variety of shades. The shades within this palette flatter my hazel eyes, but I’d imagine this would work for all eye colors, and are so great for fall. On days where I don’t want a full eyeshadow look, I use a small Morphe brush to create soft eyeliner with the Cyprus Umber or Noir shades. I use my URBAN DECAY - Eyeshadow Primer Potion to make the look last and throughout the day, I get so many compliments—it’s a must have! Charlotte Tilbury - Lip Cheat Lip Liner - Charlotte Tilbury’s Pillow Talk Collection contains some of my favorite products! The matte lipstick, gloss, and eyeshadow quad are some of my favorites and this Lip Cheat absolutely lives up to the hype. So many lip liners can be too patchy, thin, thick, drying, etc., but this is so velvety and lasts all day! SEPHORA COLLECTION - #LIPSTORIES Lipstickand MAKE UP FOR EVER - Matte Velvet Skin Blurring Powder Foundationare two products I picked up during the Sephora Friends and Family sale! I’ll get back with reviews soon!
A Cherie Member Wanted a Fall Eyelook ❤️
One of my Cherie followers wanted me to showcase more fall looks, so here’s what I came up with! It was my first time doing a cut crease with colors that are typically not part of of the same color spectrum! I’ve seen this look around but thought it would be difficult to do with my eyeshape. Welp. IN MY OWN FACE! 🤣🤣 I love how it came out! Used: ANASTASIA Beverly Hills - Soft Glam Eyeshadow Palette VISEART - Grande Pro 3 MAC - Pro Longwear Fluidline
How To Perfect Your Cut Crease! Tips/Techniques
There was one day that I thought I could actually try out a cut crease but had no idea if it would fit my eyeshape. Then....THIS HAPPENED ❤️❤️😍 ...well actually happened again! (Second time doing it) Since both times were successful, I’ll give you guys some tips, tools, and techniques that would be optimal to use to get the cleanest cut crease! 1. Tools Brushes: The idea is to have a brush that isn’t super stiff and super flimsy. I use 2 types of brushes from morphe: MORPHE - M505 Tapered Blender Brush MORPHE - M506 Tapered Mini Blender Brush The m505 was used to apply the base color and the m506 was used to apply the darker shadow. 2. Technique The key thing to starting is to FIND THE BONE OF YOUR EYE. I know that sounds weird but it helps create that roundness for the eye on the cut crease. This is where you’ll focus the colors, especially the darker shades. When it comes to layering on the concealer/foundation for the cut crease, I use the SIGMA - E54 Medium Sweeper Brush to STAMP THE CONCEALER/FOUNDATION FIRST and then blend in later to decrease the likelihood for mistakes. Don’t grab too much concealer or foundation either. You don’t want to make stamping difficult/messy for you. When you stamp, follow the your eye bone once more. It helps give you an idea/outline of where to put the concealer. Set the concealer/foundation with a translucent powder to prevent shifting. This also helps layer on any other colors you want in the cut crease. I put a peachy white color plus a shimmer to bring it out as a highlight after using HUDA BEAUTY - Matte & Metal Melted Double Ended Liquid Eyeshadows in shade Faux Fur. Then you take you brush handle and line it up against the lower lid at an angle so you can see where you will put the eyeliner and if there’s any need for extension. The main thing with everything is to take it easy and slow. You will be going back and forth with correcting the shape. That’s normal and don’t beat yourself up for it! Finishing both eyes took me one to two hours the first time. You’ll get faster at it the more you practice! Happy practicing! ❤️
Shimmer Eyeshadow Map for Small-Set Hooded Eyes!
Hey everyone! I love a good shimmer eyeshadow and I remember when I first got into eyeshadow...I had no idea what I was doing. LOL I hope this map helps those who have a similar eyeshape or who are struggling with placement/application of eyeshadows! For those of you who don’t know where to start with a “beginners” eyeshadow palette, I highly recommend Anastasia Beverly Hills Soft Glam Palette. It’ll help you experience what a “buttery” eyeshadow palette is, teach you about “fallout”, and pigmentations. I truly believe makeup is an experience and by learning about what you like and dislike you’ll know what you’re looking for on your next journey. The Soft Glam Palette has all these elements (being soft/buttery, occasional fall out, really awesome pigmentation), so it can give you an idea of what a good eyeshadow palette would potentially be and if you end up not liking it, again, you’ll know what to look for next time! The key is to start somewhere! Side note: “fallout” is not necessarily bad, because I feel like it’s good for a person to experience what it is. Not all palettes are created equal so by having fallout, you can learn how to adjust your techniques accordingly when you do encounter a palette that has it.Too Faced - Shadow Insurance Anti-Crease Eyeshadow Primer ANASTASIA Beverly Hills - Soft Glam Eyeshadow Palette ANASTASIA Beverly Hills - Norvina Eyeshadow Palette 3CE - Velvet Lip Tint

This is my very first post and I have no idea what to write. Basically my name is Kayla and I’m 25 years old and I love makeup & skincare. I’m very picky when it comes to what I consider my holy grail products, but I love trying new things and sharing my thoughts and opinions! My favourite new products to try are foundations. I am THE MOST PICKY with foundations (as in I only have one in my collection currently) but I absolutely love trying new ones. I’m also extremely insecure and self conscious about taking selfies so 😬😬 also please don’t mind my eyebrows I can’t get them THREADED RIGHT NOW. ANYWAYS, that’s all I have for now, take care and stay safe!! 💕
