Rehydrating Colored/Highlighting Hair Pt 2

Alright! Here’s Part 2 tips to rehydrating Color-treated/Highlighted dry hair! 1. Prepare to Revamp Your Haircare Routine! No, you don’t have to toss everything you have and buy all sorts of new things. On our first post, we talked about washing your hair less. Here’s how that can impact the products you choose/already have. When you wash your hair less, you’ll see more oil production on your scale and the rest of your hair. If you have a multitude of heavy hydrating/silicone based products and you continue to use them, you might start to get more build up on your scalp. Explore haircare products that may be lighter with their hydration. Do keep at least one product that is deep conditioning and use as needed or less of it as you go. More oil production/change + extra products that all focus on hydration/smoothing when your scalp is already trying to give you the oil that you need = more weight on your hair and possible extra build up. Hopefully, that makes sense. Now remember everyone is different, this is just based on my experience. What you can do is focus your haircare on “clarifying” the scalp (getting a shampoo that cleans the hair but not strip all the oils out of it. This is to avoid product build up for the time being. The bottle doesn’t have to say clarifying but do watch out for SLS, or sister ingredients similar to it. I absolutely prefer shampoos WITHOUT Sodium Lauryl Sulfate(SLS), as this is too harsh on the hair. This is an ingredient that is located everywhere, even dish soap). The photo shows a shampoo bar that I’ve been using and it’s awesome! You’ll have to find it on Etsy though. It’s 10 bucks and I’m still on my first bar! Focus on only cleaning the scalp area. The rest of whatever shampoo you use/have on your head will clean the middle to ends of your hair as you rinse it out. This will help avoid stripping the oils from your ends. As your hair grows and goes farther away from the scalp, the less oil there is in those areas. 2. Spot Treating With Hydrating Products I use a shampoo bar, conditioner bar, and an occasional leave in conditioner or hydration oil for “spot treatment”. Not every strand of hair is created equal. You may notice in some area you may have more damage, frizz, or dryness than others. The top of your hair may be nice and healthy and then the bottom might look like a rats nest. There’s no problem to that, but you may be a great candidate for “spot treatment”. Spot treatment is just adding a little bit of love to those specific areas that might need an extra bit of help. Experiment with different types of oils to use on your hair for extra hydration and focus it on areas that are more dry. I use pura d'or - Gold Argan Oil
The oil may not be for you if you feel like it just “sits” on top of your hair rather than drying with it. Be mindful not to use to much either.

bitterquillI love that oil! 1 or 2 pumps is usually enough for me, even though I have a ton of hair; I smooth it over the ends and then go up a little if there's any left on my hands. Does wonders for dryness and frizz.

POWERDROPS FOR THIN, DAMAGED HAIR & SPLIT-ENDS
HERO PRODUCT for damaged, fragile hair and split ends! I have very thin/fine blonde color-treated hair. ORIBE - Power Drops Damage Repair Booster has been a LIFE SAVER for my hair (literally)! It mends my split ends and dramatically improves the overall strength of the hair. It has 2% linoleic acid which strengthens and repairs damaged areas. I discovered this product through Violet Grey and tried a sample of it a couple years ago. I didn’t end up purchasing until recently, a few months ago, and immediately became hooked! Just purchased my second bottle! I use this product every day and typically apply on damp hair (after I get out of shower) You can use this with any other product you want- this is a hair strengthening product, not styling. However it of course helps with styling because it makes your hair easier to manage and dramatically improves appearance of damaged areas. It also adds bounce and leaves my hair silky soft 🥰 #CheriePartner

Back before I chopped my hair off it was very damaged, especially at the ends. It was dry, frizzy, and all around a pain to deal with and look at. This is where IGK - Mistress Hydrating Hair Balm came in to save the day. I want to say I have naturally wavy hair that has dealt with years of heat damage, color damage, and is very thick. IGK (which is hands down my favorite hair care brand) claims this hydrating balm conditions the hair without weighing it down. For $29 you get 5 oz of products (I have a sample size of it). It contains: coconut oil to nourish and strengthen shea butter to add moisture argan oil to nourish and strengthen This really brought the moisture back to the ends of my curls. I usually used this on days when I wanted to wear my hair natural and I would distribute a little bit into the ends while it air dried. It’s a very lightweight balm that melts into the hair. I would only use this in my ends because of all the oils it has. It didn’t weigh them down or make them feel greasy. It has a nice fragrance to it but it isn’t too strong which I enjoyed because some hair products I own can definitely give me a headache. I highly recommend to anyone looking for a leave in product to hydrate any dry, damaged ends. #CheriePartner

Bleached no more frizz🧝🏻‍♀️

I only bleached my hair once (years ago at the salon) and my hair went to crap for the following 3 months before I dye it darker. And it took years to recover. This picture taken is actually my roommate’s hair. And she did a fantastic job at maintaining her bleaching hair in that healthy glory look, so I’m stealing her secret treatment with you girls. This is not an add and I also tried this product myself and absolutely love it. This No3 Hair Protector from Olaplex is the secrete treatment.OLAPLEX - No. 3 Hair Perfector This is an expensive product you guys. It is $28 USD for this small bottle. Only 100 ml. As far as application goes, you can choose to dump in your hair like a little bit or apply directly on dry hair. And in fact you kind of need more product to saturate your hair. And if you have long hair like my roommate, it will probably take one quarter of the bottle. And regarding the leave on time for this product, it is recommended at least 10 min. The best result after a few times of trying is for at least a couple of hours. You can put it up in a nice bun and continue about your day doing something work. And according to the reviews, many said its the longer the better and some may leave over night and have amazing result. I don’t think it’s necessary and it is to time consuming. After that you can just rinse, shampoo, condition your hair as usual. And towel drying your hair after this treatment and blow dry to 80%. It will give your the instant silky texture. And you would notice that you don’t even need straight iron to make it straight or serum. You can do this on a bi-weekly basis. And meanwhile there is less breakage because of the fact it is actually getting healthier. At the same time, less hair losses. This is a really great product and I strongly strongly recommend you girls give it a try!

✨MASK TO HELP STRENGTHEN HAIR/PREVENT LOSS✨
✨MASK TO HELP STRENGTHEN HAIR/PREVENT LOSS✨
We have all noticed a little extra hair in our brush or shower drain and wonder what the heck is going on! Most people go through some kind of mild hair loss for all different reasons (i.e changes in hormones, stress etc.) I began to notice some hair loss after I had a baby last year, which is totally normal but still really scary when it’s happening to you! While I can’t tell you how to get rid of hair loss or prevent it completely, I can tell you what I like to do to keep my hair healthy and strong and minimize loss! Masking is a something you can do once a week to ensure your hair is getting enough moisture so that it can stay strong. Lately my favorite mask has been the Malibu C Replenish Mask. ♥️Why I love it♥️ You can leave it on for 10 minutes or overnight depending on how much hydration you think you need. (I like to leave mine in a shower cap for a couple hours while I clean up the house!) Gives you intense moisture, controls frizz, and helps maintain colored hair Comes in cute little single use packets so you know exactly how much to use each time! Smells like a tropical vacation! Coconut yesss! Does not leave hair feeling greasy, just soft and smooth! *PRO TIP: look for a salon that offers professional Malibu treatments. These are amazing for your hair as well as your scalp and will give you an extra boost against hair loss.

This spray is incredibly fragrant in the best way. I haven’t noticed any benefits from this product yet, but the scent alone keeps me coming back. If you’re sensitive to fragrances, I’d recommend against this!

Generally speaking, I wash my hair once a day, because my hair is oily. If I don't wash it frequently, it will become sticky. But what is even more frightening is that I only have oily scalp and my lower part of hair is still relatively dry. This can cause a problem. When I wash my hair more frequently, my hair ends become very frizzy. If it is a dry winter, they will also generate static electricity and fly around. To solve this problem, I have tried many methods and products. For example, reduce the frequency of washing hair and change it to once every two days. Or use different products to treat the scalp and hair tips. However, the effects of these methods are very short-lived, and most of them can only last for half a day. After that, my hair will still become greasy and ugly. LUSH - Roots Hair Treatment $26/225G This is a unique hair mask. It is not used after you wash your hair, but before washing your hair, which means that your hair must be kept dry. After that, wait for about 20 minutes before washing your hair. Another feature of this product is that it is not exclusively aimed at the hair, it is more aimed at the scalp. It can strengthen the root of hair and nourish the scalp, that is to say, it will help you to restore the health of the scalp. After using this product, I can feel that my scalp has a relaxing feeling of spa treatment, coupled with its unique mint scent, I feel relaxed both physically and mentally. I will definitely buy this hair mask again! If you have any questions, leave a comment.
