Post Accutane Night Time Skin Care Routine
While on accutane I had a very simple skincare routine to allow the medication to do its thing. I’m 7 months post Accutane, and my face is still pimple free. Yay! My skin care concerns at this time is discoloration/dark spots and minimal scarring on one of my cheeks. In this routine I am using the Fresh Soy cleanser to cleanse. It’s so important to make sure you’re thoroughly cleansing your face so that the remaining products can properly penetrate the skin. I use esthetician Nayamka Roberts-Smith (@LABeautyologist)’s 60 second rule when cleansing. Cleansing your face with your fingers for 60 sec allows the cleanser ingredients to do their job. This method helps to soften the skin & dissolve sebum blockages a lot better. I then follow up with applying a hydrating toner (Laniege Cream Skin toner and moisturizer) to my face with my hands. Then 2-3x a week I go in with the exfoliating serum ( The Ordinary’s Mandelic Acid 10% + HA serum) to minimize texture and uneven skin tone. Mandelic acid is gentle and works great on hyperpigmentation on people with deeper skin tones. To end it all off, I use the Kate Somerville recovery cream. $tock🆙 & 🆕 Reviews to come!
Trying to organize a little bit... My sink top is usually a bit cluttered, so let’s talk about the cabinet! Just like a cute little skincare closet🤎 I’m not usually one to stock up, but between moving to a rural area, quarantine & some gifts, it happened. I have some friends that hoard their favorites when there’s a sale or fear of apocalypse.... Apocalypse aside, I really don’t recommend “stocking up” Running out of a crucial product sucks, but overstocking can be problematic. I acquired more treatments than I know what to do with lol, & if they stay locked away I’ll never remember to try them! Another big issue is expiration dates as well as ingredients/actives that are sensitive to light, heat or humidity. Products with organic ingredients/products free of preservatives will definitely be sensitive to these elements. Some actives, like vitamin C are notoriously unstable, loosing some of their stability & potency over time. If not stored in cool, dark & dry conditions, it can speed up oxidation, causing the degradation of the molecule. This can lead to simply a waste of money or serious skin irritation! I recommend keeping any vitamin C products out of the sun, especially if they have a clear bottle. Dry Skin Routine
It’s been getting a bit cooler and I’m noticing my skin is starting to feel more dry and dull 😭. In todays night routine I’m going to add some very moisturizing products to help with my dry skin. Products: 🤍 @laneigeca cream skin really helps with my dehydrated skin and deeply moisturizes. 🤍I’m using @deciem The Ordinary’s Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% to help with my dull looking skin. 🤍I’m trying out a sample of the @drunkelephant Lala Retro Whipped Moisturizer with Ceramides. Im really enjoying this super rich cream. Its not overly greasy but definitely deeply moisturizes my skin. 🤍I have been using the @biodermacanada Cicabio cream for any dry patches on my face and body. Its really thick and repairing. 🤍 @kiehls Creamy Eye Treatment with Avocado is nice and hydrating. Really thick so it gives my under eyes a nice glow!

Skin Care Routine
Hello! I though I would come on here and make a post in regards to my current skincare routine. I am looking for suggestions on the routine. First, I would like to give you some feedback on my skin currently. As of right now I am broken out, I have some dark spots and hyperginmentation on my cheeks, my pores on my nose, under my eyes, and my chin are very large and have many black heads. I do have dark circles and deep wrinkles under my eyes, but I am not too concerned with them as I am the above things. I just recently switched around my entire skincare routine. I recently found The Ordinary and contacted them about a skin care routine for my skin type. This was the regimen I was told to use with their products (or others): Morning routine: Cleanser Hyaluronic Acid 2% +B5 Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% Moisturizer Sunscreen Night time routine: Cleanser Toner Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5 Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% Azelaic Acid (2-3 times per week) Moisturizer The current cleanser I am using are The Ordinary Squalane cleanser, Cerave Renewing SA Cleanser, and the Neutrogena Rapid Clear Stubborn Acne Cleanser (only when I shower). For the moisturizer I am switching between First Aid Ultra Repair Barriar Cream, Kate Somerville DeliKate Recovery Cream, and Neutrogena Hydro Boost. I switch between these three moisturizers depending on my skin. For sunscreen I am currently using the CeraVe hydrating sunscreen SPF 30. When I am finished with my sample size I will be switching to the Neutrogena Clear Face Breakout Free SPF 55 sunscreen. I will admit after using these products for about two weeks I have noticed some differences in my skin such as it being much more hydrated, glowing, and small bumps that I have on my neck have reduced. I have also noticed more breaking out of my skin, but I am chalking that up to switching skin care products. I am currently working into adding The Ordinary AHA 30% + BHA 2% and the Retinol 0.5% in Squalane. I also would like to add a Vitamin C to my routine, but I am unsure which would be right for me. I am also looking for suggestions on adding antioxidants. Lastly, I am looking for suggestions on other products such as The Inkey List, Paula’s Choice, and La Roche-Posay products for acne prone combination skin.
Skin care journey
First post on this app! But I wanted to share my skincare journey. I never really had crazy issues with my skin but working at Sephora I always get new products to try and noticed more and more blemishes. First 2 pics are in July of 2019, last 2 pics were from a month ago. My skin used to always be combo dehydrated so I started using some rich moisture products, I’ll list them below. But after a few months I noticed my skin started breaking out more. I started talking to my skincare specialist and found out that I used too many oils/ rich creams and NOT enough water. So there is such a thing as rich in moisture and not enough hydration. Basically you always want to implement water into your skin, if it’s not drinking a ton of water (which I was) its using products that are more water based. Cleanser :GLAMGLOW - Supercleanse Clearing Cream-to-Foam Cleanser to innisfree - Green Tea Hydrating Cleansing Foam Moisturizer: TATCHA - The Dewy Skin Cream to innisfree - Intensive Hydrating Cream with Green Tea Seed am use. Kate Somerville - DeliKate Recovery Cream PM use. Toner: I didn’t use toners before but now I do. During the day I use innisfree - Green Tea Seed Intensive Hydrating Toner and for nighttime use OLE HENRIKSEN - Glow2OH Dark Spot Toner Serum: JOSIE MARAN - Argan Beta Retinol Pink Algae Serum to innisfree - Innisfree Green Tea Seed Serum paired with KORA - Noni Bright Vitamin C Serum for AM use. KORA - Noni Night AHA Resurfacing Serum for PM use. These products did a shift on my skin, I continue to do my exfoliations using my Clarisonic but haven’t found the right exfoliator as I still have a bit of sensitive skin. I still use a some rich creams but only for nighttime use. But after a huge change I noticed my skin is getting a tad bit better but it’s still a long journey ahead of me. *ps I know there’s a difference in lighting but my skin does look better now as it did a few months ago.

UPDATED NIGHTTIME ROUTINE: MY SKIN CURRENTLY
well... i changed my routine again, but in my defence i was breaking out A LOT on my cheek, chin, and jawline area. Like it was unbearable, i have SO MUCH. Most of them are turning into scars now which is good but with my skin, it takes a long time for it to go away. so here’s my updated routine! weTHE BODY SHOP - Tea Tree Skin Clearing Facial Wash no need to further introduce this product, i’ve reviewed it before and it’s one of my favs lol. Fruit of the Earth - Aloe Vera 100% Gel I use this to rehydrate and soothe my skin after washing it. It’s great for moisturizing and helping with acne scares, which is of course great for me. The Ordinary - Mandelic Acid 10% + HA So far so good!! I reviewed this product already and it’s doing great on my skin VICHY - Minéral 89 Face Serum with Hyaluronic Acid i’ve used this before and it’s pretty good! it does a great job of hydrating my skin to make it look all soft and supple. It also gives me a nice glow and is really good under makeup VICHY - Normaderm Beautifying Salicylic Acid Acne Treatment I’ve used this before again because i had the same problem with my acne and let me just say that it works wonders. In the matter of days my acne shallowing started to decrease in size and fade away. The active pimples became less red and irritated and are slowing going away which is great. The only problem is that when i used it before it dried my skin out a bit, but now i use some hydrating products along with it and it works out very good. Welp that’s my new routine!!! if anyone has any recommendations for acne and acne scars I really wanna hear it! also if anyone can help me care for my acne that would be amazing!

How I cleared my Acne - My AM and PM routine
Swipe left !! 🔙 So, my Hormonal acne is almost cleared up and I'm so excited to share with you how I cleared my acne as well as what products worked amazing for that! As shown in pictures six months back I had painful, bleeding cystic acne that flared up because of PCOS (Poly-Cystic Ovarian Syndrome). I managed to leave them at bay now, leaving me focused on just the acne scars which are also faded a lot! I believe whoever has hormonal acne, or breakouts in general this routine will for you! So here's my morning and nighttime routine for past six months ( some products are added recently but they're helping me in maintaining my skin Acne-free) AM - @fresh Soy cleanserfresh - Soy Makeup Removing Face Wash @innisfree Panthenol 10 tonerinnisfree - Truecare Panthenol 10 Moisture Skin @naturium Hyaluronic acid essence 2% NATURIUM - Hyaluronic Acid Essence 2% @Tula Pro-Glycolic PH resurfacing tonerTULA SKINCARE - Pro-Glycolic 10% Resurfacing Toner Alternate day (replacing AHA/ @tula toner) - @naturium Vitamin C Super serum plusNATURIUM - Vitamin C Super Serum Plus @theordinary Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% @naturium Niacinamide 12% + Zinc 2% NATURIUM - Niacinamide Serum 12% Plus Zinc 2% @sundayriley C.E.O Vitamin C rich hydration cream SUNDAY RILEY - C.E.O. Curology - Curology formula Two nights in a week (replacing @curology formula) - @sundayriley A+ Retinoid serum / @theordinary Granactive retinoid 2% emulsionSUNDAY RILEY - A+ High-Dose Retinol Serum This is my detailed routine and I really want to root for Azaleic acid as an ingredient as it helped me with my acne as well as (PIH)dark spots at the same time. Azaleic acid is such a great all rounder and no brainer when it comes to treating Acne and lightening/fading dark spots. Quick overlook of it's benefits- - Anti-microbial (hence kills acne causing bacteria) - Anti-inflammatory (reduces redness and look of blemishes) -Gently exfoliates skin (Unlike potent AHA but gives similar exfoliation) - Reduces skin texture and textural irregularities - Lightens and brightens dark spots, PIH, melasma by slowing down melanin production - Works well with almost all actives including AHA/BHA, Vitamin C, Retinols - Isn't photosensitive meaning you can use it in the morning as well as at night. Which product/ingredient you like the most? ⭐
Not impressed with fresh soy cleanser
Okay so I love me some Fresh products, but I’m really not impressed with this. It kills me to say but I had to. Don’t kill me haha I know that this is a fan favorite. I definitely like other cleansers a lot better. Maybe I had to high of expectations, but if I’m gonna drop some cash on a nice product, it needs to be the shit! For me this wasn’t to special. :( fresh - Soy Makeup Removing Face Wash So first, I do like the consistency, and I love that it has amino acids in it. If you love it and it works for you, then that’s amazing. But for me it was pretty ordinary and not worth the mula 💴 in my opinion. :) It's made with amino acid-rich soy proteins, calming cucumber extract, and balancing rosewater. It doesn’t really have a smell to it. I wanted it to smell like roses haha. It really didn’t take off any of my eye makeup like it claims too either. Not a big deal for me because I double cleanse anyway but still if it says that’s what it does then it should :) MAIN INGREDIENTS Amino acid-rich soy proteins help maintain skin elasticity. Calming cucumber extract aids in soothing the skin. Rosewater is notable for its calming and balancing properties. Borage seed oil helps to nourish and soften.
How to Treat Dreaded ‘Maskne’ 🖤
With everything going on right now I know a lot of people (myself included right now) are wearing masks for 8+ hours. With this new addition to daily life a new problem I’ve been hearing a lot about right now is ‘maskne’ or mask acne. With your mask on your face all day causing irritation it’s perfectly normal to experience break outs. When I do get really bad break outs I tend to simplify my routine down to these basic steps: (disclaimer: I myself have oily, acne prone skin that is mainly grade 2) 1.) Cleanse - FARMACY - Clean Bee Ultra Gentle Facial Cleanser A gel cleanser is best for oily skin. It’s also going to be best to get all the sebum, debris, and other gross stuff you may have under your mask from breathing in it all day. This one is gentle but effective without stripping your skin. 2.) Prep - GOOD MOLECULES - Niacinamide Serum I always use niacinamide as a prep step. My favorite niacinamide serum is from Good Molecules. It’s only $6 and it absorbs really nicely into the skin without feeling sticky. This is going to help regulate oil control so you’re not over producing, calm down any inflammation your new break out may be experiencing, and help heal any pigmentation that might be left behind as the break out heals. 3.) Spot Treat - GEORGETTE KLINGER - Acne Spot Relief Then I go in with a spot treatment. I really like the Georgette Klinger spot treatment because it’s cream formula absorbs really well into the skin to dry out the break out properly without damaging the surrounding skin. It contains both salicylic acid and lactic acid so while it helping to shed dead skin cells from the face so sebum doesn’t get trapped underneath to create more break outs the salicylic acid goes deep into the pores and cleans it out. Another great option is the Clinique Acne Solutions Gel. 4.) Moisturize - FARMACY - Daily Greens Oil-Free Gel Moisturizer with Moringa and Papaya You always want to seal a routine with a good moisturizer. For oily skin I recommend a gel (with dry you’ll want a cream). This will help keep your skin hydrated while it’s healing without feeling too heavy. If you use too heavy of a cream with oily skin you have the potential of clogging the pores and with the mask on top it will just make things worse (With dry skin you don’t have to worry about this as much).

*UPDATED* PM skin routine 🌚
This is my pm skin routine, updated. This is my part 2 to my last post of my updated AM routine! 🌊HOLI FROG - Superior Omega Nutritive Gel Wash my boyfriend got me this for my bday, and I’ve used it 2 times so far. The consistency is perfect for what I wanted, I felt like I needed this for my stubborn hormonal acne. It also is unscented. So far, I like it a lot! ☕️ YOUTH TO THE PEOPLE - Kombucha + 11% AHA Exfoliation Power Toner when I exfoliate, this is my go to. I have a review on this in a previous post, where I go into more detail. 🍃NATURIUM - Niacinamide Serum 12% Plus Zinc 2% this is what I got instead of another TO niacinamide serum. I like this one a lot better, and I think it’s simply because it is formulated better. It doesn’t foam up like TO does, and it’s also unscented. It’s consistency and packaging is also better. The results are what’s expected from a niacinamide serum, and price wasn’t too bad for this serum either. 🍁The Ordinary - Caffeine Solution 5% + EGCG see my am routine post for details on this product. 🧬GOOD MOLECULES - Hyaluronic Acid Serum I like this serum because it’s cheaper like the ordinary, and it doesn’t foam up like TO did, but it still foams a little bit. It’s good enough for me, and isn’t scented. 🐘 DRUNK ELEPHANT - Protini Polypeptide Cream this is my night moisturizer, and I love this because it’s thick and hydrating. It feels nice on the skin, doesn’t have any scent, and makes my skin feel plump. It is expensive though, but DE always is. pmd - Clean Smart Facial Cleansing Device I got this in my subscription box, and I’ve been using it at night to wash my face. It has 4 vibration settings, I use the first and second one for washing my face. I do think that it helps with exfoliation, and using the other side of the tool is made for massaging in serums. I found that it does take a lot of extra time when using it for serums. I like this tool, it’s nice, but not necessary. More of a luxury item.

AM SKINCARE ROUTINE✨
Hi guys! i’m back again to show you all my morning routine! i’ve been using my morning routine for awhile now and it’s been really good on my skin! Here’s the products!! THE BODY SHOP - Tea Tree Skin Clearing Facial Wash I commented on this product on my PM skin care routine and i just wanna do a little add on to what i’ve noticed. After washing my face with this, it does feel a bit dry after so keep that into consideration. TOWER 28 - SOS Save.Our.Skin Daily Rescue Facial Spray I’ve used this for awhile now and i’ve noticed absolutely nothing lmaoooo. i mean it’s a bit hydrating don’t get me wrong and it also didn’t irritate my skin which is good too but i didn’t notice anything if i’m being completely honest. Neutrogena - Hydro Boost Multivitamin Booster I really like this serum! i usually use it by itself but you can also put it in your moisturizer for a good boost also. It is really hydrating and I’ve noticed that it helped some of my scaring since my skin gets all scabby and it helped smooth it out. Definitely would recommend if you have sensitive or dry skin!! The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% I also love this product a lot! my skin looks brighter and my acne looks a lot better when i use this product. My only problem is when i use this and i rub it in and it kinda makes this white foam on my face, maybe it’s my cleanser? i’m not sure but i do really love this. The Ordinary - Natural Moisturizing Factors + HA Now i think this is my fav moisturizer ever. Trust me, I’ve tried so many moisturizer that just haven’t suited my skin, but this product really worked. It’s simple but effective, amazing texture, very moisturizing and i think good for all skin types. I will continue to purchase this product!!! The Ordinary - "B" Oil this product is also one of my favs!! i usually mix it into the moisturizer and it feels very nice on the skin! it also helped make my skin brighter and clear some of my acne scars!!! I also use this under makeup too for a nice deep natural look!! this is another product that i’ll repurchase again and again! I also use a stick sunscreen to protect my skin from the sun!! If you guys have any recommendations i will gladly consider!! Thank you✨✨✨
The Ordinary-"B" Oil
drunk elephant A-Passioni Retinol Cream: i would use this as a spot treatment, about every other day. Its my first time using retinol and it is a high concentration 1% which is why i decided to start of slowly. I’ve been using it for 3mo now and i’ve seen a difference. New pimple/redness would be gone overnight, and my hyperpigmentation has faded over time. It does take commitment when using this product. You won’t see results overnight. It is pricey, so if you have the money, i would recommend this product. drunk elephant T.L.C. Framboos Glycolic Night serum: i use this twice a week. I apply it on dry skin, as recommended. It does tingle but subsides after a few minutes. Overnight, i feel that my face is smooth like a baby’s butt. I was really surprised on how well this works. It has AHA/BHA mostly AHA which works on the skins surface and helps unglue the dead skin cells so you can expose the new layer of skin. You do need to follow with a sunscreen the morning after. All drunk elephant are pricey, but would recommend 100% Farmacy Green Clean cleansing balm: first time using a cleansing balm and works so much better at removing my waterproof mascara. A little goes a long way depending on how much makeup you wear. I dont use much, but i do use sunscreen everyday (i try my best) and double cleansing is a must! Laneige Cream Skin Toner & Moisturizer: i use this every morning, after washing my face with water only. I dont usually wash my face in the morning unless i workout or feel the need to. This product works as a two in one: toner & moisturizer. I do have combo/oily skin, and some may say its too greasy for oil skin, but at night i use harsh ingredients and i like to use this to restore my skin barrier and moisturize my skin as my night time routine can be drying.

Morning routine for bright and glowy skin
Me last year = lots and lots of breakouts. Me now = still very acne prone BUT got a hold of it and now I want to target acne scars, get glowy skin and avoid any future flare ups. My morning and evening routines are fairly different. In the evening, I do a double cleanse and use products like my benzagel face wash to reduce the chances of getting acne and mix up a couple different products such as acids or retinol depending on what my skin needs. But in the morning I try to go for a hydrating and brightening routine that will help me reduce my pesky acne scars and make me look glowy and more awake! I also love this routine because most products are from the drugstore. Products: CeraVe - Hydrating Facial Cleanser This is great for the morning. It’s gentle, hydrating and won’t strip the skin. Definitely worth your money. I'm from - Rice Toner Loving this toner for the morning to help keep my skin plump and bright. This is one of products that I depend on to gently fade my acne scars and overall brighten my whole face. Mad Hippie - Vitamin C Serum I’m not quite ready to give a full review on this yet, but so far, so good! This serum has a higher percentage of vitamin c (10%) than the latest one I was using and also vitamin e and ferulic acid. Overall, skin is glowy and it’s not irritated at all, so I’m happy. THE inkey LIST - Caffeine Eye Cream Keeps eyes hydrated, helps de-puff, all good in my books. HONEST - Hydrogel Cream So excited to put up a full review about this product, but overall, great ingredients that keep skin moisturized and I love how glowy it makes my skin look in the morning. LA ROCHE-POSAY - Anthelios 50 Mineral Ultra Light Sunscreen Fluid SPF 50 Light-weight, good protection, no white cast and also helps give skin a little glow in the morning. Super happy with this purchase so far. Thought of the day: I had been doing a water cleanse in the morning for the last few months but recently read that it wasn’t the best idea. So I’ve started to use this gentle cleanser from Cerave for now. My skin seems to be liking it so far! Does anyone else do a water cleanse in the AM?

Review my routine!
Hello everyone, I am going to show you my routine every night, I hope you can read it and my thoughts will help you! remember each product works differently depending on your skin type. 〰️ 〰️ 〰️ 1️⃣ I start by washing my face with fresh - Soy Makeup Removing Face Wash I really enjoy using this cleanser, It is my favorite since it leaves my skin super clean and refreshing, it has a cucumber smell that I love. 〰️ 〰️ 2️⃣ my next step is to spray YOUTH TO THE PEOPLE - Adaptogen Soothe + Hydrate Activated Mist with Reishi + Ashwagandha , I use this once I get my face clean and let it dry, also this is wonderful as a last step in my skin care routine in case I do a chemical peel or an enzyme powder to exfoliate. 〰️ 〰️ 〰️ 3️⃣ my third step I only do it when I have dark spots ( thanks to my hormonal acne) on my skin, and I really like Kiehl's - Clearly Corrective Dark Spot Solution It feels super light, dries very quickly and I have noticed a difference in the area of my cheek where I have had dark spots. 〰️ 〰️ 〰️ 4️⃣ my fourth step is to apply my moisturizer GLOW RECIPE - Watermelon Pink Juice Oil-Free Moisturizer This is my favorite light weight moisturizer. It doesn’t feel heavy on the skin, it doesn’t freak out my oily T zone but still leaves my dry skin feeling nourished. 〰️ 〰️ 〰️ 5️⃣ don't forget to hydrate your lips 👄 so lastly I use LANEIGE - Lip Sleeping Mask Leaves my lips super hydrated, soft, I am so happy with this product, since I started using it the skin on my lips does not break like Before. if you got to last part, I hope it helps you some of my routine. 👏🏻 Thank you!
