GOURMANDE 🍨 FRAGRANCE CAPSULE

Perfume is hands down my favourite beauty category and has been forever! I remember falling in love with perfume as a child while sorting through my mom’s collection of beautiful, delicate bottles. One of my favourite things about perfume is that to me, it is the best memory. I will smell a certain perfume and be transported back to a specific moment in time and the feeling & emotions that can evoke...is priceless. When I was younger, I preferred the sugary sweet scents (like all the Britney Spears ones, Aqualina Pink Sugar, etc) but as I’ve gotten older I still prefer warm scents, but I love more spicy versions. Here’s a little tour of some of my favourites: YVES SAINT LAURENT - Black Opium Eau de Toilette - I know, I know - who doesn’t wear this one?! But it’s just so good. With notes of black coffee, white flowers, and vanilla, I find this one so warm & sexy - it’s perfect for a winter date night! GUERLAIN - Mon Eau de Toilette - key notes of lavender, bergamot, and vanilla. This one is incredible! It’s warm & sweet but not quite as heavy as Black Opium. It smells fancy, expensive, and classy. To me it would be perfect to wear on your wedding day! Maison Margiela - ’REPLICA’ Beach Walk - key notes of bergamot, heliotrope, and coconut milk. This is perfect for the summer, it’s warm but still has a light freshness. The only downfall is it doesn’t last long! CAUDALIE - Soleil des Vignes - this is like Beach Walk but a bit heavier and more of a sunscreen smell (which I LOVE) but lasts longer. I wore this a ton in the summer! Maison Margiela - 'REPLICA' Coffee Break Eau de Toilette - key notes are coffee accord, milk mousse, and lavender. This one is so unique! It smells warm and clean and...comforting? If that makes sense! Maison Margiela - REPLICA Whispers In The Library - key notes are pepper essence, tonka bean, and cedar wood. This is perfect for chilly Fall/Winter nights! It’s way too heavy to wear in warm weather IMO. It’s feminine and masculine at the same time (it’s marketed as a unisex fragrance) and lasts forever on the skin. gisou - Honey Infused Hair Perfume - I think everyone knows and loves this scent! It smells like warm honey with a bit of a white floral added in. This one can at times give me a bit of a headache, but if I use it lightly I do enjoy it. So can you tell that I have a theme?! I love warm & spicy scents and some of my favourite notes in perfume are bergamot, vanilla, patchouli, coconut, coffee, and lavender. Perfumes are like memories in a bottle to me; they take me back to the specific event or chapter in my life. These 5 fragrances are my top 5 perfumes I ever had (and I have tried A LOT). If you love floral, powdery, soft & fresh scents, check this edit out! ✨ DIPTYQUE - Do Son Perfume Oil Roll-on Limited Edition A recent discovery and by far the best perfume I ever smelled. Diptyque Do Son Eau de Toilette is honestly the most beautiful scent I've ever come across. It has quickly become my signature scent. It's a mix of floral tuberoses and other fresh flowers. gisou - Honey Infused Hair Perfume A bit of an odd one in my top 5, but the Gisou Honey Infused Hair Perfume is in my opinion a musthave in your perfume collection. I wear this hair perfume layered with Diptyque Do Son, Chloé Nomade, or on its own. It makes your hair smell like an exotic flower mixed with sweet honey. It's one of those floral scents that has a bit of a bite to it, making it last extremely long in my hair. I've never come across anything like it, so I would highly recommend giving it a go. YVES SAINT LAURENT - Libre Eau de Parfum Since I love floral, powdery & quite light scents, I always struggle with finding an evening scent. Most of them are overly heavy or sweet, giving me a headache wearing them - not cute nor sexy for a night out. However, the Yves Saint Laurent Libre perfume is evening scent perfection in a bottle. With notes of lavender essence, orange blossom, musk and musk accord, YSL Libre is strong yet fresh & floral. It will be powerful enough to make a statement on that cute guy sitting next to you on a bar, but not too strong it will give you nausea. CHANEL - GABRIELLE CHANEL Eau de Parfum Chanel is the embodiment of a classy, successful & stylish woman to me. So whenever I have an important event or meeting to attend, it is the Chanel Gabrielle Eau de Perfum that I wear. It's Chanel's newest fragrance, and also my favorite of their assortment. It makes me feel like a bad boss bish. It has notes of exotic Jasmine shimmers with the fruity green notes of ylang-ylang, fresh and sparkling orange blossom, and tuberose. Chloé - Nomade Eau de Parfum Before discovering the Diptyque Do Son scent, Chloé perfumes were my go-to signature fragrances. I'm in love with all their perfumes, because of the beautiful mix of floral and powdery notes. The Chloé Nomade Eau de Perfum is a floral scent with notes of oakmoss, freesia, and mirabelle liquor. It has a bit more bite to it, making it last longer than typical light and floral perfumes. It's the perfect scent for any Summer holiday trips. And every time I wear this fragrance, I get asked what scent I am wearing - especially from male uber drivers for some reason. Hope you enjoyed my top 5! #cheriecreator
