It took me 15 years of buying moisturizers, serums and oils at every price point, and going through a whole rainbow ๐ of skin reactions, to understand that when it comes to skin care less is WAY๐๐ปMORE๐๐ป. CERAVE is the best-kept secret of the skincare industry and hereโs why!
๐คซ CERAVE products actually work even if not all of them work for everybody in the same way. I canโt use their SPF day moisturizer and I couldnโt use this moisturizer on my face for the longest time either until I figured out my cleanser was causing all of the break outs. When you find the CERAVE product that works for you, it is nothing short of chefโs kiss ๐. I havenโt used anything but CERAVE on my face since it completely transformed my skin 2 years ago.
Here are some of the moisturizers that were left sitting on my vanity, sad and alone when I found CERAVE. I still LOVE some of these brands but theyโve been replaced for good:

I had been using Cerave for years, but during quarantine I got sucked into watching too many YouTube product reviews and started looking for new moisturizers that I thought would be better because they looked fancier and were more expensive... ๐คฆ๐ปโโ๏ธ My skin freaked out from me trying too many new products at once, and now Iโve switched back to Cerave and am working on repairing my skin ๐
Cerave is the perfect example of how skincare doesnโt need to be expensive or complicated to be effective!

thanks to all lovely beauties out there to take their time and add a comment on my last post.
I was devastated by breakout, i was having from last 2-3 weeks and nothing seems to be working.
Well i guess too many exfoliants was making my skin too sensitive so now i am back to basics.
I have started what i was doing in the beginning and that seems to be working just fine. I think i was selfish to have a great skin in no time ๐ฅด.

Rate my routine, suggestions welcome ๐
Hey guys this is my first post. Most of these products I bought after reading reviews and learning how to read ingredient lists on here.
I use YOUTH TO THE PEOPLE - Superfood Antioxidant Cleanser cleanser with an electric silicone face brush. This can be a little hard to fully rinse off but, my skin is soft and glows after.
Then I use HERITAGE STORE - Rosewater Spray to tone and prepare for my first essenceHADALABO - Gokujyun Premium Lotion which is very moisturizing and slimy. I use this for both the moisture and the niacinamide.
I wait until it is fully dry the spritz more rose water and follow up with CosRx snail mucin ferment essenceCOSRX - Advanced Snail 96 Mucin Power Essence .
After that I will either add this combo: The Ordinary - Retinol 0.5% in Squalane and then belif - Aqua Bomb Sleeping Mask or the CosRx snail all in one cream COSRX - Advanced Snail 92 All in One Cream to keep this oil on my skin and not my pillow lol
Or go straight to Embryolisse - Lait Crรจme Concentrรฉ this is thick and I will either use it as a moisturizer or load it on as a sleeping mask.
I mainly do skincare at night and I know that I should add a vitamin C and sunscreen during the day but, I havenโt found any moisturizing ones that I like yet/that are simple enough for me to slap on and give adequate protection.

I want to move towards a clean skincare routine. My current products were not purchased with clean skincare in mind, but I want to know how many of the Dirty Dozen chemicals are in my skincare. See my previous clean skincare posts for more details.

A quick summary, almost every product contains PEGs! PEGs (polyethylene glycols) are petroleum-based compounds that are widely used in cosmetics as thickeners, solvents, softeners, and moisture-carriers. Depending on manufacturing processes, PEGs may be contaminated with measurable amounts of ethylene oxide and 1,4-dioxane, known human carcinogens. 1,4-dioxane can be removed from cosmetics during the manufacturing process by vacuum stripping, but there is no easy way for consumers to know whether products containing PEGs have undergone this process.

My holy grail moisturizer of all times!
I have tried many moisturizers throughout my skin journey but this one is so far the best one I have tried. I have tried many moisturizers that claim to provide moisture but donโt do anything and actually make may face feel tight, dry and somehow make my skin super oily. However, with this moisturizer I can actually feel my skin being moisture.
It gives me the right amount of moisture my oily skin needs without feeling heavy or making my skin produce more oil than what it should produce. That being said I totally recommend this moisturizer specially if you have oily skin.
If you have dry or normal skin Clinique has a lotion version of this moisturizer which is also amazing, I love to use it during the colder months. Also if you have sensitive skin this moisturizer is also safe for your skin because it doesnโt contain any fragrances.

Iโve been using this for about a month and a half now and so far I really enjoy it! The texture is unlike anything Iโve really used because it feels like a thick gel, more than a cream. The container practically doesnโt weigh anything, I guess like a feather, but the product still manages to feel thick and hydrating. I use this as a daytime moisturizer and Iโve been mixing it with the versed vitamin c powder, and I love the combo together! As the weather has gotten warmer I was concerned this might be a little too thick for my oily skin, but itโs been light enough and my skin hasnโt been getting oily mid day like it normally would! I received this in a giveaway and it was apart of a Saturday skin kit, but this moisturizer, full size normally goes for $49 for 1.7 oz which is a little more than I would probably pay for a moisturizer right now, plus right now I have a bunch of others to get through so I wonโt be repurchasing after I finish this product.

Saturday skin is a very interesting brand to me. I think their products are extremely expensive and I donโt hear a lot about the brand overall. So when I received this free sample from Sephora I knew I had to give it a go.
This cream โFeatherweightโ by Saturday Skin SATURDAY SKIN - Featherweight Daily Moisturizing Cream claims to be a lightweight daily moisturizer with an exclusive 7-peptide formula and multiple fruit extracts to help the skinโs renewal process while keeping the moisture barrier intact.
The texture to me is SO strange. When I heard โlight moisturizerโ and โpeptide complexโ I immediately thought it might be similar in texture to Protini by drunk elephant. However, the texture is THICK and it reminds me 100% of Summer Fridays Jet Lag when you first apply it. Within 10 minutes, itโs sunk in and youโre ready for SPF or bed.
I have to be honest, the fruit extracts I think burned my skin a little bitโI was feeling the tingle! At night, I applied it over a squalane oil and in the morning I applied it over both my hyaluronic acid serum and my squalane oil. In the morning I used a nickel sized amount and experienced awesome hydration with little tinglingโI had more at night for sure.
Iโm not sure if โdaily moisturizerโ is a fair statement to make for those with sensitive skin. I would probably advise against it if you are prone to rosacea or redness.
For $50 for 1.69oz of product, itโs pretty on par with other luxury moisturizers but I donโt think I could EVER justify that for thisโif you have oily/combination skin, go for it!! But if you are dry or redness prone, stay away.
I am giving this 3 out of 5 stars due to the price and the tingles it gave my sensitive skin.

Subscription boxes. Are they worth it?

At one time I was subscribed to around 6-7 monthly to quarterly sub boxes. I had just decided to really get into skincare and figured one way to learn more would be by sampling products. After a few months I realized I was learning more from my peers on social media and wasting A LOT of products (and makeup) that I wouldnโt use so I canceled all but one, @myfacetory
Ipsy is one of the subscriptions I would have considered keeping had I not had a load of products piling up. Itโs reasonably priced and you do get a fair amount of brand name products to try. I wouldnโt say Iโve been โwowedโ by them as of late but again, you definitely get what you pay for GB $12 - GBP - $25
They recently added a bunch of options for your โadd-onโ day and if youโre quick to grab some of the good stuff, you can usually score some great products for a fraction of their price.
I managed to pile up about 12 eyeshadow pallets in the year of being subscribed. Bronzers and lipsticks are the other filler item companies seem to be consistent on. If you love makeup, sub boxes are your thing! I do enjoy makeup and can get quite obsessed with it, but not as much as I do with skincare.
This months Glam Bag (GB) & Glam Bag Plus (GBP) I gave all 3โญ๏ธ as I havenโt had a chance to use them). I will say I sadly am unimpressed with GB. Iโm all for discovering new brands but not for dime store products. I just feel they could do better.

For mixed skin, skincare products need to change with the seasons. My skin tends to get oily in the summer, but it gets very dry in the winter, so my skincare products also vary according to my skin condition.
I like this Set of Hydra Quench Moisturizing Cream from Clarins very much. There are two kinds of this product. One is of cream texture,CLARINS - Hydra-Essentiel Rich Cream which is more moisturizing and suitable for dry skin or mixed skin in winter. One is made of a gel texture, CLARINS - Hydra-Essentiel Cream Gelwhich is fresher, more suitable for oily skin or mixed skin in summer.
What I like most is its fragrance, which is very reassuring. Clarins has always been a skincare brand whose main ingredient is safe, and even pregnant women can use it. For this, I am also very relieved of its products. After a long-term period of using, my skin condition is getting more and more stable. The price is not very expensive, I bought a set in the duty-free shop at the airport, the price of the set is less than 60 dollars. I usually use two bottles of alternately, which can be used for a long period, about half a year.
This set of facial creams doesn't have anything else to offer, it's pure moisturizing. However, moisturizing is an important and easily overlooked part of your daily skincare routine. Simple moisturizers can't be ignored, so a bottle of soothing moisturizer is important for all seasons. Hi! Iโm new to this app and generally have clear skin. However, I think some things I notice about my skin are:
-uneven tone
-dark circles (they run in my family, so I think thereโs only so much I can do for them...)
-dullness/fatigue

Used Charlotte Tilbury - Charlotte's Magic Serum Crystal Elixir and Charlotte Tilbury - Magic Cream Moisturizer as a base. Followed with Charlotte Tilbury - Airbrush Flawless Longwear Foundation
I would love to get some help with my dark eyes and everything else thatโs not done right.
I use Kiehl's - Creamy Eye Treatment With Avocado which is great to hydrate but Iโm not able to color correct and conceal well.

We first received this product during Nordstrom Anniversary event this last year as part of a set. Tilbury sent us the tester so of course we had to try them out.
The serum itself is super silky and soft. I swear the pores on my hand just opened up and sucked it all in (dry skin probz) and you know I have hella sensitive skin so I was a bit concerned to put it on my face.
Given that I use Charlotte Tilbury - Magic Cream Moisturizer I was sure it wasnโt going to bother my face and it didnโt. Went on super smooth and my face had an instant glow!

How I Built an Entire Routine for Under $150
For a long time I was intimated by skincare because it seemed very expensive and overwhelming. How do I know what to buy ๐คท๐ปโโ๏ธ
When I started noticing wrinkles that was enough of a push for me to invest in skincare. Hereโs some great lessons Iโve learned to build your skincare routine affordably:
1. Research to figure out what you need- hereโs where my love of @cheriestarted! I read lots of reviews, advice, so I knew what type of products I should buy and what ingredients I should focus on.
2. Keep it Simple
Itโs easy to want to buy new products, adding new steps or ingredients to your routine, or try out the hype after reading reviews! Focus on your concerns and add slowly to give your skin time to adjust and see whatโs working. Itโs better to have a few great products that you love than many products you donโt use.

4. Try some great affordable brands such as The Ordinary, The Inkey List, Versed, or CeraVe
5. Buy trial size first, Value Sets or better free rewards before investing in a new product
6. Once youโve found your Holy Grails keep your eyes open for sales to stock up, join the brands mailing list or reward program, buy value size

I started using CeraVe - Moisturizing Cream For Normal To Dry Skin four weeks ago. I needed a new day cream as I had completed a 3 month trial using Auquest 5 Second Wrinkle Cream. I posted my results in January so if you want to know more check out my previous post. โบ๏ธ

Although itโs for normal to dry skin, it also works well for people with skin conditions, like psoriasis. I suffer from psoriasis. ๐ I have combination skin which is more on the oily side but I really wanted to give CeraVe - Moisturizing Cream For Normal To Dry Skin a try as itโs recommended by dermatologists.
CeraVe was developed by dermatologists and uses a patented formulation to protect the skin barrier. The Company call the formulation, Multivesicular Emulsion Technology. Itโs ensures CeraVe - Moisturizing Cream For Normal To Dry Skin will be time released throughout the day for complete hydration. It also uses three different ceramides which help retain water ๐ง and strengthen and repair the skin barrier.

which is great since I have larger than average pores ๐
๐งโโ๏ธ CeraVe - Moisturizing Cream For Normal To Dry Skin has an SPF 15 with broad spectrum protection and can be classed as a secondary sunscreen in Australia. An SPF15 can block 93.3% of UVR compared to SPF30 which blocks 97%. So technically I feel I could use it as my sunscreen but, because Iโm 45, I like to apply an SPF30. โบ๏ธ

Itโs ticked a lot of boxes for me but as itโs only my initial review I didnโt want to give it too much Kudos. Iโm loving it and feel a little sad as I have a new GLOW RECIPE - Banana Soufflรฉ Moisture Creamthat Iโd like to trial after the CeraVe. But, I donโt really want to swap it out. ๐๐๐ I guess thatโs the Dilemma of being a Creator. I donโt always keep using whatโs working because I like to review new products. ๐

Just wanted to share my journey struggling with acne. Growing up I had perfect clear skin, no acne whatsoever, was comfortable going in public with no makeup on and I had a perfect complexion until I graduated high school and I started breaking out. I used to call it, puberty but backwards lol.
I tried everything and nothing worked on me. I even tried changing my diet and stopped eating dairy and meat all in one but still, nothing changed. I even drank more water and that didnโt do anything either.
I started watching Dr. Dray on YouTube about a couple years ago and I feel like sheโs changed my routine. She says less is more and I swear by that.
Remember: what works for me may not work for you.
My skin is no where near perfect, but Iโm extremely happy with how far Iโve come ๐ค

When I first started my skincare journey, I mainly started out small using cleanser, moisturizer and SPF then slowly incorporated these serums into my routine. I started using products with no fragrance in them and I feel like that helped my skin out a lot.

Hello everybody who has hearted my posts to see my skin care journey (: This is what my skin has been looking like still using all of the same products! The only thing Iโve added is a jade roller just because itโs sooooo relaxing lol. I do have acne scars and rosacea, but Iโve noticed my rosacea is reduced when I treat my skin well. Now remember Iโm also 9 months Preggo and havenโt been eating the best ๐ฌ Guilty I know, but my skin is looking so much healthier and glowier! I donโt have perfect skin, but I do see a huge improvement from what Iโve dealt with in the past. First I still use the THE inkey LIST - Oat Cleansing Balm balm to remove my makeup. Oats are very calming for your skin and reduce redness so I love the way this feels when I double cleanse. Next I rinse that off well and go in with my LA ROCHE-POSAY - Toleriane Hydrating Gentle Face Cleanser This stuff hasnโt broken me out once and I have very sensitive skin so I definitely recommend just trying it out for yourself. After I cleanse my skin I go in with my PAULA'S CHOICE - Skin Perfecting 2% BHA Liquid Exfoliator as a toner. (Only use at night) This stuff is strong, but I find using it only at night helps more because Iโm not adding so much to my face. This has helped reduce my pores and also clear some mild breakouts and redness on my face. Next I go in with my amazing oil I got of amazon Cos De BAHA - Azelaic Acid 10% Serum with Niacinamide Acne Scar Removal + Redness Relief Face Now this stuff is AMAZING. I apply this with the dropper every morning and night and it is a miracle worker!! I would rate this more than 5 stars. It helps calm your skin and also helps with breakouts, hyperpigmentation and so much more. After this step I use my Neutrogena - Neutrogena Hydroboost Water Gel Moisturizer The reason I give it three stars is because itโs just your average basic moisturizer to me.. it works, but Iโm sure thereโs better moisturizers out there. For the price though itโs worth it if you want something easy. Next step after is always sunscreen in the morning! Never at night for me and I use GARNIER - Green Labs Pinea-C Brightening Serum Cream SPF 30 I only have been using this since December so I wonโt give it five stars yet, but this is a good 3-1 face serum with spf! One thing I like is it doesnโt leave a white cast on me. Things I donโt like is how it has a lot of fragrance and it also can burn my eyes sometimes. If anyone has a better spf to try let me know (: Thatโs all I do for the morning and night time and then of course use my jade roller to feel relaxed. I do use my THE inkey LIST - Caffeine Eye Cream but I donโt see a difference on my under eyes. Iโll keep you all updated again soon ! โค๏ธ

I'm going to be totally honest๐
I know it has only been a month with Apostrophe (and other recommended products by their derm) but so far I am not liking the outcomes.
The first week I started off by putting the prescription on 3 nights a week. My face definitely got irritated the first night which led to my decision on limiting the usage. I started to use the prescription everyday by the 3rd week.
Since then I have not felt like I've had any improvements on my acne.
I am not giving up just yet, but I do hope to see some improvement at least by March. ๐ค

So far I started out my day with one of Drunk Elephants infamous โFace Smoothiesโ
I washed my face with Beste No. 9 Jelly Cleanser & then combined C-Firma Day Serum, Virgin Marula Luxury Facial Oil, & Protini Polypeptide Cream together on my mixing trey with a disposable skincare spatula! I applied it all over my face & neck.
Once that absorbed, I applied Umbra Tinte Daily Defense SPF 30 over my face & neck & was done!
I love how the kit comes with steps to walk you through different routines you can use in the morning or at night!
I will do a follow up review after I have used all the products for a few weeks!
But so far, my skin feels & looks great!
I have been breaking out lately & havenโt felt the best about my skin so I really needed this pick me up!!

THE BEST MOISTURIZERS I HAVE EVER BOUGHT
These are my HOLY GRAIL moisturizers. I spent so much time looking for the perfect moisturizers, and I have arrived! ๐คฉ And everyone could benefit from any of these. I'm a huge believer in that even if you don't have "sensitive skin" it's so important to use moisturizers with non-irritating, and barrier protecting ingredients, that won't clog pores or cause breakouts.
I am super prone to clogged pores, fungal acne, and breakouts, and I am extremely picky about my moisturizers. I only use ones that don't clog pores!
For my oily skin babies, the #La Roche-Posay - TOLERIANE FLUIDE OIL FREE MOISTURIZER[products]#[FiveStars] is amazing! In the winter I found it to be not moisturizing enough, but in the summer it was perfect for my combo skin. There is no chance this moisturizer will clog pores or irritate breakouts. It's so lightweight and wears great under makeup. It's also oil, essential oil, and fragrance free. I do find this a bit overpriced, especially since I went through it pretty fast. It's the most expensive out of the three of these, being about $30.
Some say this is purely an oily skin moisturizer, but I think anyone can benefit from the Benton - Aloe Propolis Soothing Gel I love using this especially after a chemical peel or when my skin is irritated. It's extremely calming and redness relieving. I find it to be both moisturizing and hydrating, especially when I lock it all in with my vanicream moistuizer which I will mention next! This gel is the only moisturizer I use on my forehead because it's AMAZING for FUNGAL ACNE. It has antibacterial properties and doesn't promote growth in fungal acne. It's smoothed down my forehead so much, and it's only like $15!
Now let me tell you about the #Vanicream - Vanicream Daily Facial Moisturizer [products]#[FiveStars] . This is the BEST moisturizer I've ever owned in MY LIFE. Even though I don't have super oily skin, I still crave a deeply moisturizing moisturizer with ceramides and humectants. But most of them out there aren't suitable for acne prone skin. So for those of ya'll with DRY, ACNE-PRONE skin, you will LOVE this. Same with aging skin, sensitive skin...if you have SKIN you will love this. This moisturizer has squalene, Glycerin, and 5 key ceramides, and it's $14.99! And it's guaranteed NO reaction or NO sensitivity, which I love. I picked this up after I was sick of using the DRUNK ELEPHANT - Protini Polypeptide Cream and found that it was breaking me out, and wasn't moisturizing enough. It has about the same texture, but the vanicream is less gel-like. BUT with the added antiaging and peptide/ceramide benefits, you could say this was a dupe for the DE one...just better!

I love love love The Ordinary - Mandelic Acid 10% + HA .
As you can see when i first used it I was flakier . However I got it under control using OLE HENRIKSEN - Sheer Transformation Perfecting Moisturizer which also has BHA/AHAs in it .
In the morning I donโt peel as much.
I canโt wait to see my skin in 3 weeks .
My texture has improved significantly .
I will post the other serums I am using later on .

If you are looking for a not very expensive, light weight, full coverage , silky moisturizer this might be best for you. I was really looking for a light weight and non sticky moisturizer. Tatcha was my favorite, but it was Expensive for me. I found this then. Its really good . Do soft under make up. Just a pea size you can cover your face and neck. I am just waiting itโs youthful effects to work on me. I will update that too. It claims anti aging and spot correction etc. two weeks so early to tell. So far so good. I definitely recommend this. It was 40$ , not very expensive yet do good.

Texture:
Lightweight gel cream. Not greasy. Absorbs fast. Smells light and refreshing.
My experience:
It was one of my favorite moisturizers back when my skin was more oily and I didnโt have to deal with NYC winter nor staying inside with heat blowing on my face 24/7.
That being said, I still like it a lot. I love the texture and the scent. It helps with my redness too. I think itโll be a great summer moisturizer for me (mid 20s, combination textbook skin). But right now, it doesnโt lock in as much moisture as I need it to.

This is one of the few thick occlusives I donโt get breakouts from. I think itโs just fabulous and iโve only been seeing positive results from using it. This is a perfect moisturizing cream if youโre on tretinoin like me. Works great especially on dry patches. It is balmy and thick but it spreads well. It feels a lil greasy on my t-zone after applying but does fade overnight. This also still layers well with other products. I donโt have fine lines or wrinkles but this leaves the skin sealed with moisture throughout the night and makes the skin looking rejuvenated when you wake up in the morning. I see realistic results from this and I think it would deliver what it claims after a period of time. I believe mature skin would benefit the most from this product ๐๐ปโฃ

Finally finished CeraVe - Skin Renewing Night Cream
This little baby contains: hyaluronic acid, Niacinamide, barrier replenishing ceramides and peptides. It designed to improve the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, with its MVE Delivery Technology (that will continually release moisturizing ingredients for 24 hour hydration).
Thoughts: It does have a non-greasy feel to the skin. It also leaves the skin feeling soft after applying and when waking up. It does not, however, feel as hydrating as the moisturizing cream does. I feel I have to put a lot more of the night cream on to not feel as dry. Which is why, overall, I prefer CeraVe's CeraVe - Moisturizing Cream For Normal To Dry Skin (for thoughts on this one ๐๐ป refer to my 'Get Unready with me PM' post)
CeraVe - Eye Repair Cream Additionally, I'm honestly not one to believe in eye creams as they are not only unnecessary but just thicker moisturizers. Plus most eye creams tend to break my under eye area out--even this one. I still do like it though because of it's amazing ingredients like Ceramides, HA, Niacinamide, and that it also delivers it's MVE Delivery Technology to the under eye.
I will always love CeraVe because of its simplicity, ingredients and the fact that their products are fragrance free.๐๐

My sensitive, dry skin peels like crazy during the change of seasons. Sometimes I can't put on makeup, and even cleansing hurts a lot. After battling with this skin problem for over a month, my skin has finally stabilized. Let me share the products that I've used. Its maybe helpful for those with the same skincare concern.
LA MER - LA MER The Moisturizing Soft Cream
La Mer The Moisturizing Soft Cream works really well when my skin is unstable. It's more lightweight, and doesn't need to be emulsified before applying. It can be easily absorbed just by lightly patting it on with my fingertips. However, it only really helps maintain my skin balance. The only downside is that its sooooooo pricy ๐ซ๐ซ๐ซ. So I will in introduce some affordable choices I've found.
Avรจne - Skin Recovery Cream Rich
This product can even repair peeling and flushed skin! I like how it's packaged. You squeeze the cream out so its content is not exposed to the air. It's recommended to apply it little by little so as to not apply too much, because it balls up easily. Use it continuously for a week to see your skin restored back to health. You can buy this if you are not ready to commit to the price tag of La mer.
FIRST AID BEAUTY - Ultra Repair Cream Intense Hydration
It's cheap and worth its price. It has a very thick texture but it soothes pain really effectively. However, it causes acne breakouts on my face, so I usually only use it when my skin peels like crazy. And I only slather the thick lay of the stuff on my face for a while and then wash it off.
DRUNK ELEPHANT - Lala Retro Whipped Cream
It contains oil but it doesn't feel heavy and it spreads easily. I usually use it during the day. However, it's not moisturizing enough and doesn't provide enough restorative care for dry skin so I'll use it with other products in my nighttime skincare routine.

Iโm a chemistry graduate weening her way into the personal care sciences to make effective skincare and makeup that has a long lasting effect on the way your skin treats you. I have a deep passion to help people around me understand what the hell is going on with their skin. More often than not, the issue is... we be doin too much.
I donโt have problematic skin per say but she is sensitive, picky, and temperamental. For a while I fell down the 10 step skin care routine rabbit hole. I put a toner on my face, a serum, another serum, aloe Vera gel, and two heavy moisturizers. I thought that would make me glowy. Wrong. Instead what happened was my skin started growing bacteria. Fungal acne, my new worst enemy. There was too much going on. I had little spots on my forehead I couldnโt get rid of. So like any other skin care junkie I decided to combat it with even MORE products.
When that didnโt work, I thought about how my skin was in high school. A single pimple during my time of the month and that was it. Why wasnโt my skin fussy back then? Itโs cuz I didnโt do much back then.
I scaled back. I used simple skin care with simple ingredients. I used skin care from the same brand to see if the way they work together benefitted me. Low and behold, my fungal acne was defeated. But then came eczema.
As Iโve gotten older, my seasonal allergies have taken over my life. Not only do I have to go out of my way to keep itchy eyes and sneezes at bay, but eczema so graciously decides to find a home under my eyes. Insert eye creams. Insert... two eye creams. Truly a dynamic duo.
All the products tagged here are my holy grail items. Iโm loyal to them and will die for them. They continually fix my skin when sheโs acting up and give her a pat on the back when sheโs behaving. Iโm back on my cycle of getting one blemish per month and I keep that at bay with DifferinGel & acne patches.
Sometimes when we cut back, our skin will thank you.
Tips:
Donโt wet your face before putting this cleanser on. Weird. I know. But donโt. Let your dry skin drink this in first. Then add water to foam it up after itโs completely rubbed in. Your skin will feel 10 times more moisturized after cleansing this way.
Donโt towel dry your face. Let it air dry. Pat the water in. Use a hand fan. A sopping wet face? Yeah. Thatโs what we want. Letting your face air dry allows your face to drink that water! The Hyaluronic acid serum retains water from the air and the water already on your skin. Youre giving your serum a boost if you let your face air dry. Thatโs where the moisture will be retained from.
CeraVe-Eye Repair Cream
This is todays routine, I like to keep it lightweight in the warm weather otherwise my face melts off ๐
Jurlique revitalising cleansing gel- Iโve been sampling this and Iโve been loving it! Its a lightweight gel cleanser packed with botanicals - it rebalances oil and leaves your skin feeling fresh and clean without feeling tight or too drying like other gel cleansers. It also smells of peppermint ๐ which I love.
The Ordinary The Buffet serum- Iโm not sure wether this is making me break out a little?... ever since Iโve been using it Iโve been suffering with breakouts. I really donโt want this to be the culprit because I was so excited to be using this - an anti ageing serum packed with peptides and Hyaluronic acid. Iโm going to persevere with this and see if it keeps happening. If it does Iโll stop usage and see if it clears.
Cerave Eye contour repair- My eyes are sensitive And this is the only eye cream Iโve used that doesnโt sting my eyes.
Origins Ginzing energy boosting gel moisturiser- Loved this for a while- itโs the perfect daytime moisturiser and sits beautifully under make up!
Nivea Hydrocare spf15 lip balm- I apply this over my lip liner.
La Roche-Posay Anthelios spf 50+ sunscreen - sampling this, So far so good. Does leave a slight white cast but sinks in quick!

My eczema/ dry skin moisturising routine
Itโs taken my a long to time to perfect my moisturising routine for my dry/ eczema prone/ sensitive skin but I think Iโve finally done it! Using all these products together helps keep my skin hydrated, dewy and smooth. No more itchy, flakey raw, red skin!!
First I start with the water drench eye gel
Followed by the water drench cloud cream then continuing on with the first aid beauty ultra repair cream
And finally rosehip oil
Remember if youโre going out in the sun avoid putting the rosehip oil on because youโll get burnt real fast! Best to put that one on at night or the days you spend more time inside.
