First Impressions: Krave Beauty 🌊
I’ve been wanting to try out this brand for so long because not only did read wonders about its formulations and ingredients but also because of their mission and stance on environmental sustainability 🌱 💡About the Brand: The focus for the brand was to simplify your skin care routine to the essentials and to repair of your skin’s natural barrier function. Alongside simplifying the skin care routine, the company stands for the reduction of overconsumption. For example: using up your products before restocking- this process will help consumers to purchase products less frequently, thus reducing waste and mass production. ❗️ Krave Beauty has 6 products categorized into either core (cleanser, moisturizer, sunscreen) or supplement (toner, serum) ✅ The Products: Krave - Oat So Simple Water Cream
Moisturizers for patches
Normal skin cleansers
Face washes for dark spots

Krave Beauty; My Review
Over I wasn’t very impressed. These products are pricey and although I appreciate their mission the products don’t speak for themselves. I tried everything for a little over a month so I could really see how their products work with my skin and over all I didn’t notice much difference besides an increase in acne along my chin line and more texture on my forehead. I did have one day during the month where my skin was flawless and I thought these products were amazing but it quickly faded. Krave - Kale-Lalu-yAHA I don’t hate this toner. I just did not notice a positive difference in my skin with it. Krave - Great Barrier Relief Good texture, a little oily but that goes away somewhat quickly Krave - The Beet Shield Best sunscreen I’ve tried so far. It does not leave a white cast and does not have a strong scent. It is on the oilier side but my skin tends to be dry so it works well for me. I included a picture of what it looks like on my hand before absorbing for reference. The main reason I only gave it 4 stars is the price for how much you get. It is a small container. I am going to continue to use this sunscreen until I run out and then will be looking for a cheaper option.
Shelfie vs Reality 🪞🤳🤔
Happy Presidents Day!! I was playing around trying to take my first ever shelfie and was struck by two things: 1) styling a shelfie is HARD!!! I am so impressed with the gorgeous, inspirational pictures you all take where a boring medicine cabinet seemingly effortlessly highlights all your best products. I think I have a ways to go. 2) this is soooooo not what my medicine cabinet looks like every day!! I took a step back once the cabinet was full of all my beautiful skincare and just laughed at how far it is from normal. Instead, all my goodies are hidden away in a cabinet. So I restored my shelves to their usual glory to avoid my husbands confusion about where on earth his toothbrush went and thought I’d share our reality. ➡️ swipe to see what the cabinet really looks like around here 🤪 Are there any products in here you want me to review? Let me know!

Brands I love ❤️
For Valentine's day I figure I'd make a post about brands I LOVE and highly recomend! Paula’s choice I know I do not own many of her products and I think it’s because I want to try other brands as I explore the vast skincare world. I already know this one is trustworthy in my book. They not only have a great resource with their ingredient dictionary, but they use that knowledge and transparency to formulate great products. Even the negative reviews on this brand that I've seen still say they formulate very well. They are slightly on the pricey side (expect about $40 or more), but you cannot go wrong. I love their PAULA'S CHOICE - Skin Perfecting 2% BHA Liquid Exfoliator especially and have used their PAULA'S CHOICE - Defense Nightly Reconditioning Moisturizer Krave Beauty They don’t carry a lot of products in their brand, but like a fine dining restaurant with a small menu, what they make is their specialty. Their products are reasonably priced and they focus on non-irritating effective ingredients to help your skin barrier. I currently have their Krave - Matcha Hemp Hydrating Cleanser and their Krave - Great Barrier Relief Inkey List I love this brand and that they are making simple products with usually only once active and that allows people to try them to see how it effects their skin for a reasonable price. I currently have their rosehip oil because I didn’t know how my skin would react to it, but it’s known for hydrating and evening skin tone. I currently use their THE inkey LIST - Rosehip Oil Cosrx Another good brand that formulates well while still being very reasonably priced. I love their COSRX - Advanced Snail 96 Mucin Power Essence and COSRX - Hyaluronic Acid Hydra Power Essence CeraVe A tried and true brand. There is a reason why dermatologists recommend this. CeraVe is formulated with non irritating ingredients, that may make them seem “boring” by not being packed with actives, but effective. I have a few of their products. CeraVe - CeraVe Moisturising Cream CeraVe - Skin Renewing Night Cream and CeraVe - Hydrating Hyaluronic Acid Face Serum
My Current PM Routine
I recently did my AM routine.... Guess it's time to do my PM routine. Keep in mind my routines do tend to change frequently due to me trying different products to review, but this is my current one. THE inkey LIST - Oat Cleansing Balm (I have to double check, but I think it's fragrence free) So far I'm enjoying this one. I like the ease of the tube and the texture is nice to get off my makeup and sunscreen. I actually like this one better than Then I met you - Living Cleansing Balm (not Fragrence free) and it's cheaper. I still enjoy then I met you, but it's not in the tube and I like inkey's texture better. Krave - Matcha Hemp Hydrating Cleanser (Fragrence free) I've been using this one for PM because I feel like my milky cleansers aren't strong enough to get off the balm (it probably is). It's still gentle, while still feeling cleansing. I will say there's been times where I don't get it fully off and then when I go into my next step, it still foams up and I have to go back in and REALLY make sure I got it off Hanskin - Hyaluron Skin Essence(I think it's fragrence free. Again I'd have to double check) I haven't used this one enough yet to make a review, but so far I like it. It's watery like a toner so that's how I've been using it. My go to is usually COSRX - Hyaluronic Acid Hydra Power Essence which I still use in the AM. I want to like Hanskin because I don't have a toner and wouldn't mind using this product in that place COSRX - Advanced Snail 96 Mucin Power Essence (Fragren free) I've already reviewed this one! Def a holy grail because it makes my skin feel plump and hydrated. If you can get around the idea of using snail slime, it is worth it! ETUDE - Soonjung Hydro Barrier Cream(Fragrence free) Another product too soon to review since it just recently joined my routine. It does leave a little shine while its waiting to sink in so if I keep it in my routine it would be for PM. So far my go to is CeraVe - Skin Renewing Night Cream and I'm curious to find a cream that is a little more complex in it's ingredients list THE inkey LIST - Rosehip Oil (Fragrence free) I've been using this for a few weeks now. It is nice for hydration, but it sits on my skin. I feel like it sits on my skin for a long time. If I'm going straight to bed, I feel like it gets on my pillow and hair making a oily mess. I like to use this if I know I have time before laying down

Face Picking Relapse & How I’m Moving Forward
So.. it happened. I relapsed and started picking my face again for the umpteenth time. I won’t lie, relapsing on a bad behavior like skin-picking sucks! I definitely beat myself up over it and even gave up entirely on stopping for a few weeks. That is, until I realized that feeling bad about myself and actively allowing myself to pick were absolutely never going to help me stop. The only way to stop is to be kind to myself and try again. Now, I’m choosing not to focus on my relapse or the fact that I was only able to stop for a few days. It’s happened many times before and it will surely happen again. After all, picking is a compulsion, and usually not a conscious choice. In addition to my other “stop picking” behaviors mentioned in my last post , here’s what I’ve been doing since my little revelation: Stopped keeping a tally of “days without picking”I realized I was way too hyper focused on the number of days I could go without picking and it was actually making me think about picking more. If I catch myself picking I stop and move on, I’m basically not making myself feel shame or guilt anymore. This has helped me significantly cut down on picking Started seeing a therapist. I’ve wanted to try therapy for years and finally gathered the courage to do it! My therapist has made it clear that this is a really tough thing to stop but she has been helping me identify why I pick which is something I had never given any thought to. This is helping me to try to find what helps me not pick and behaviors I can do when I feel that “urge”. Even if this doesn’t help me stop picking, it’s been so beneficial to my mental health already. Changed my thinking I’ve been reminding myself that picking is like hitting the “un-do” button on my routine that I’ve worked really hard to develope. My active acne is staying away and the urge to pick lessens significantly when I don’t have any scabs or spots to pick at. Some other things that have really been helping with my skin: DRUNK ELEPHANT - A-Passioni Retinol Cream PAULA'S CHOICE - Skin Perfecting 2% BHA Liquid Exfoliator Krave - Oat So Simple Water Cream Krave - Matcha Hemp Hydrating Cleanser FIRST AID BEAUTY - Ultra Repair Cream *HG🙌🏼 HERO COSMETICS - Rescue Balm -this stuff seems to heal spots I pick at in hours! I put it on immediately after picking and before bed. Seriously helps cut down on scabs to pick at. I’ve also started to eat more anti-inflammatory food (currently obsessing over blueberries). It may or may not be a placebo effect but I swear my skin has been way less inflamed! First picture is when I “gave up”and second picture is my skin today. I still have a ways to go but I feel like I’m finally making progress.

I love this brand because the owner Liah Yoo is so informational and kind with the people who shop her products, I love how responsive they are. What people should know is that these products are made of all great ingredients the moisturizer only has 10 ingredients!!! I am obsessed with Krave - Great Barrier Relief when using this your skin is glowy af and your skin is moisturized and hydrated. I love the Krave - Oat So Simple Water Cream because it’s perfect to seal everything in while hydrating the skin! Affordable prices too!
Krave-Great Barrier Relief
THE Most Underrated Skincare Brand 🏆
I have sensitive combination skin that is acne-prone. I was dealing with a lot of hormonal acne as well but I’ve finally gotten it a bit more under control but do get breakouts and acne scars still. I’m also very sensitive to fragrance. Recently I bought a few products from Krave and I never plan on going back. They don’t have the fullest range just yet but the products they do have are total rockstars in affordability and ingredients. 🌱 Krave is all about taking a clean break. There are a lot of misconceptions and nasties in the skincare world that are not needed and not smart. Krave is all about taking a break from that and resetting. Here are my current favorites: ✨Great Barrier Relief Serum $28 for 1.52 fl oz 🔑 Key Ingredients: Tamanu Oil, Safflower Oil, Rosehip Oil, Vitamin B3, Ceramide These ingredients are for skin regeneration, hyperpigmentation, anti-aging, brightening, acne-fighting and generally repairing a damaged skin barrier. This serum is turning into an all time favorite between the ceramide and niacinamide ingredient list. I actually use this after a lighter Vitamin C serum during the morning on my mask area and I think it’s been really helping to create a barrier and prevent breakouts from constant mask wearing. This product is great for mimicking your skin’s natural moisture barrier so it’s great for skin that needs help from too many actives, sunburn, etc. ✨The Beet Shield $20 for 50ml 🔑 Key Ingredients: Beet root, Allantoin, Vitamin C, Resveratrol and EGCG. This daytime fluid has ingredients that overall give skin antioxidants, prevent signs of aging, soothe skin, fight free radicals, reduce pigmentation, reduce blemishes and moisturize. This is a chemical screen that is very lightweight. It doesn’t leave skin sticky or leave a white cast. It also has Vitamin C which I love! I feel like using this and their serum has maintained my clear skin even with the mask. Matcha Hemp Hydrating Cleanser $16 for 4.05 fl oz 🔑 Key Ingredients: Matcha, hemp seeds, oats, almonds, Vitamin B5 and Sodium PCA. ✨This cleanser is stunning. It is highly hydrating and skin barrier friendly. This can be used morning and night and a little goes a long way. The normal amount I’ve used in the past covered my fave, neck, chest and back so I’ve been able to use less by using this product as well. It doesn’t strip the skin and packs a gorgeous punch of antioxidants and hydration while cleansing. Perfection. ♻️ You can also choose carbon offset shipping for $1 more when ordering from them and the products come in a 100% recyclable carton with no excess fillers. Products & Tips for Maskne 😷
I have sensitive combination skin that is acne-prone so wearing a mask constantly at work is not helpful for my skin progress. I’ve been recommending a few products to friends and family and figured I’d share what has been working for me! Morning Mask Routine 😷 1. Matcha Hemp Cleanser by Krave 2. Flawless Serum by SkinKissed (Vitamin C and HA) 3. Great Barrier Relief by Krave (just in mask area) 4. Daily Greens by Farmacy 5. The Beet Shield by Krave (everywhere!) Night Mask Routine 🌝 1. Very Cherry Clean Balm by Farmacy 2. Matcha Hemp Cleanser by Krave 3. Great Barrier Relief by Krave 4. Retinal Moisturizer by Allies of Skin 5. Facial Oil (sometimes & it varies) Heavy Hitters ⚾️ 1. Great Barrier Relief Serum by Krave This serum is incredible. It mimics your natural skin barrier so it is perfect for a damaged moisture barrier as well as providing a barrier between your skin and your mask. The Niacinamide in this is also very useful for breakouts! 2. Allies of Skin Retinal /Moisturizer (Vitamin A) You do not need to buy a super expensive retinal product to have an effective retinal. This was a special purchase for myself and I love it but cheaper options exist! Retinal/ Retinol products can be tricky if it’s your first time but they are essentially acne treatment products because they increase your skin cell turnover. I find they increase healing time and prevent breakouts in the first place and I LOVE them for breakouts and breaking a cycle of acne. Retinol Tips: ✨Use at night as main active ingredient (general rule of thumb is to avoid mixing with Vitamin C) ✨Start with small amounts 1-2 times a week and work your way to more consistent use ✨Your skin may “purge” for a few weeks while starting out. That’s normal and it will go away if it is from purging. This can mean breakouts. I also had some peeling when I first started. ✨Pair with a heavier moisturizer to combat any dryness 3. Very Cherry Clean by Farmacy It doesn’t have to be this exact cleansing balm but always double cleanse your skin after lots of mask wearing! This can be any oil-based cleanser. I personally love taking my time, throwing on some music and gently rubbing this on my face for like 10-15 minutes. Why? Because not only do I properly pull off any oil, dirt, makeup and SPF, but it also removes blackheads. So gross but honestly you can see it working if you do it long enough! Blackheads are oil so it makes sense that an oil would be great to clean them out. General Maskne Tips: 💦 Wash your masks between each use 💦 Double cleanse your face as soon as you get home 💦Using a clay mask or sulfur mask once or twice a week will help remove impurities from the skin 💦 Let your skin breathe when you can- I avoid foundation/ CC cream whenever possible and I think it helps me personally. 💦 If you’re really struggling, I’d recommend using the Healing Ointment as a day moisturizer. Talk about a barrier between your skin and your mask! What are your maskne tips??
Allies of Skin-1A Retinal & Peptides Overnight Mask
Krave Matcha Hemp Hydrating Cleanser & Kale-Lalu-yAHA 🌿 This jelly textured cleanser is a joy to use. It’s never drying nor strips the skin. I end up with skin that’s clean, hydrated and soft. This cleanser contains antioxidant powerhouse matcha. Matcha is a form of green tea with an exponential number of antioxidants like polyphenols such as EGCG in comparison to regular green tea. The green tea plants are grown in the shade for a few weeks prior to processing which increases the chlorophyll levels 🍵 This cleanser is perfect if you want a gentle cleanser packed full of antioxidants that won’t dry your skin out. The texture is just plain fun！ I love acid toners as I prefer chemical exfoliation. Kale-Lalu-yAHA uses 5.25% glycolic acid to gently yet effectively exfoliate the skin. I love that this acid toner also contains antioxidant packed dark leafy greens like kale, spinach and parsley. It’s well rounded as it’s combined with soothers and hydrators like hyaluronic acid, aloe, allantoin and B5. There’s a few extras like chlorella minutissima extract (an antioxidant packed algae) & malachite extract—a powerful antioxidant that seeks out free radicals。 Kale-Lalu-yAHA has become my all time favorite acid toner (besides P50) for its ability to be effective and gentle at the same time！
Current holy grail products!!! The glass skin serum is probably as great as any hydrating serum and I’m not 100% sure I’d repurchase ONLY because of the price point since I got this at a 50% discount, but while I have it, I’m loving it!!PEACH & LILY - Glass Skin Refining Serum And the Matcha cleanser is my new baby and I shall never again stray from this cleanser. I’ve found a keeper with this one!Krave - Matcha Hemp Hydrating Cleanser

Review My Nighttime Routine 🌙
✨ I have sensitive combination skin that is acne-prone and I also get hormonal breakouts. My skin doesn’t love fragrance and also really benefits from consistency. 🍉At night, I double cleanse to remove make-up, dirt, SPF and impurities. I typically use Farmacy’s Very Cherry Clean balm and Krave Beauty’s Matcha Hemp Cleanser which are gentle and packed with perks from Vitamin C to antioxidants and anti-inflammatory properties. 🍊After that, I use an eye cream. Lately, I’ve been using my mini Jet Lag mask for this purpose and love it. I find this mask to be so multifunctional and really hydrating. Sometimes I’ll use it as a nighttime moisturizer too but not tonight. 🍋Although it varies depending on the night and need that day of my skin, last night I went in with a retinol once my skin was drier after washing rather than keeping it wet for a different serum like HA, etc. I don’t adore this retinol and have a new one coming from Allies of Skin but this does a good job with cell turnover despite the questionably long ingredient list and questionable customer service/behavior of the brand. 🍏After that, I used this moisturizer by Farmacy which I wasn’t in love with at first but it is growing on me, especially for summertime where I want a bit of a lighter finish compared to some of my winter nighttime moisturizers. 🍇Then to lock everything in, I use this gorgeous oil by Leah Skin. This is an oil that actually can be paired with retinol according to the brand owner because it is a stable form of Vitamin C which is super cool. 🌈 I like this routine quite a lot minus the retinol although it does the job for now.
