The Ordinary’s Affordable Vitamin C 🍊
The Ordinary’s Affordable Vitamin C 🍊
💡 I have to say that my journey with vitamin C has been a lot of trial and error. Trying to find an affordable product but that gives you results? A challenge! Let’s take a dive into these next three products, what I’ve learned, and see if they’re suitable for you 🤗 The Ordinary - Vitamin C Suspension 23% + HA Spheres 2% We’ll start with one of the first VC’s I bought. High concentration and if you don’t have the tolerance, it will burn. Quite grainy but I honestly don’t mind too much because I put moisturizer on right after. I also use this at night - definitely not great under makeup. Overall, I like this product. It’s brightening and I felt like it did help with my PIH. The Ordinary - Ascorbyl Glucoside Solution 12% This is a VC derivative. This means it’s more stable - won’t oxidize quickly like the pure form L-Ascorbic Acid. I don’t hate this product, I just feel like it doesn’t do anything for me. Beginners? Sensitive Skin? Definitely start with derivatives, it’ll be gentler and won’t cause irritation like a pure form of VC. I used this one during the day. The Ordinary - 100% L-Ascorbic Acid Powder Finishing off the review with my favorite VC so far from TO! This is their pure L-Ascorbic Acid in powder form. I was so curious because I thought since it’s not liquid, it won’t oxidize as quickly as other pure form VC serums. And I was right! I honestly love this powder because I can mix it with whatever serum I want to boost its effect. Hyaluronic Acid, Alpha Arbutin, even just mixing the powder with your moisturizer! It’s that easy. CAUTION: this is very potent and has the potential to cause irritation. I go in with a hydrating toner first and use it at night (I use this maybe 1x a week). I recommend building up your tolerance first. Overall I’d say it’s worth it. It’s helped my PIH and I look bright and glowy the morning after! 🍊I still have a lot more VCs to go through to find my perfect day time one but for now, this is what I have. 💌 Drop some of your fave VCs down in the comment section - I’d love to try out your recommendations! 💓

I had so much fun making this look and it was so easy! MORPHE - Morphe X Jaclyn Hill Palette Volume II I used the purples and blues for my nose and hand. Lots of blending towards the outer parts to make the illusion that the purple was spreading. For the highlights I used the light blue shade and blended the purple on top again. This gave the illusion of a highlight without it being blatantly blue. ❓Are you guys interested in makeup content in addition to skin care content?

Battle of the Toners 🥊
Battle of the Toners 🥊
💭 I remember when I was in high school, I would use toners as makeup removers. I cringe at that memory, specifically because it was an alcohol heavy toner that would burn my face and eyes every time... This memory made realize how misunderstood toners are and how much they’ve evolved! This post will give you a brief intro to the toners I use and why! ❗️Please do not use alcohol based toners. There is no need to be that silly. We can treat skin concerns without damaging your skin barrier. Hydrating Toners: My favorite type of toner! I use it almost every morning and night (when I don’t use exfoliants). I like these because they’re gentle and nourish your skin with the moisture it needs. It’s basically the prepping step so your next skincare products can absorb more efficiently into the skin. I have been using my rice toner for a while now and it’s a holy grail. Check out my other post for my review on it! I'm from - Rice Toner AHA Exfoliation Toners: These are a wonder and come in so many different formulations/percentages that I believe any skin type will be able to find their perfect match! I use these probably 2x/week max depending on if I’m using an AHA serum or not (I never use them together). I like these toners a lot better because I really do see a difference since using them long term. I’ve seen a huge decrease in dullness and breakouts! Be careful if you’re new to exfoliation or have sensitive skin. The YTTP might be a little too strong if you don’t have the tolerance but once you build up to it, it’s a fantastic product. YOUTH TO THE PEOPLE - Kombucha + 11% AHA Exfoliation Power Toner I’m not a fan of the Ole Henriksen one. It claims to reduce dark spots and it did not do it for me. I’m still using it just because I need to finish it. But would not repurchase. As for exfoliation, I think it might be a good starter but overall the fragrance aspect of it is not my favorite and I think you can find better exfoliation toners/serums out there. OLE HENRIKSEN - Glow2OH Dark Spot Toner BHA Exfoliation Toners: You got an acne flare up? Milia? Inflammation? Blackheads? This is your stop! BHA products are fat soluble so they dig deep in your pores and get rid of excess oils or dead skin. This in turn makes your pores look smaller, erase black head visibility and calm your acne inflammation! I bought the Paulas Choice BHA toner bc I kept getting blackheads around my nose and my hormonal acne needed to be tamed. The toner did just that and even made me look a little brighter/ glowy the next day! I love this product and even tho it markets that it can be used every day, I kind of just use it the weeks I feel that I need to treat my hormonal acne or if my pores are looking quite large. PAULA'S CHOICE - Skin Perfecting 2% BHA Liquid Exfoliator 💡Final Thoughts: Start with a small % & don’t overuse.

First Impressions: Krave Beauty 🌊
First Impressions: Krave Beauty 🌊
I’ve been wanting to try out this brand for so long because not only did read wonders about its formulations and ingredients but also because of their mission and stance on environmental sustainability 🌱 💡About the Brand: The focus for the brand was to simplify your skin care routine to the essentials and to repair of your skin’s natural barrier function. Alongside simplifying the skin care routine, the company stands for the reduction of overconsumption. For example: using up your products before restocking- this process will help consumers to purchase products less frequently, thus reducing waste and mass production. ❗️ Krave Beauty has 6 products categorized into either core (cleanser, moisturizer, sunscreen) or supplement (toner, serum) ✅ The Products: Krave - Oat So Simple Water Cream Creamy. Light. Nourishing. Plumpness. I have normal skin leaning toward oily in the summer. When I look for moisturizers I’m not one to look for extra extra light ones. THIS ONE is a good medium between light and heavy. It makes me feel hydrated long after applied. Krave - Great Barrier Relief First thought was - hmm this smells different. I can’t really put my finger on it BUT I don’t think it’s a bad smell. And once you work it in, the smell dissipates. It’s a light weight creamy serum that easily sinks into your skin. I bought this because Liah claims that the Tamanu Oil in the serum will help with scarring and hyperpigmentation. I’m excited to test this out long term and see if my scars fade away! Krave - Matcha Hemp Hydrating Cleanser Amazing soft scent. I definitely notice the oat and matcha (since I consume those often 😂). The cleanser is gentle and lightly foams when you work it in. I let my face dry afterwards and sat with it for about 15 minutes and I did not feel dryness AT ALL. 💭 Overall Thoughts: As for a first impression, I don’t think I have any bad things to say about it tbh. No Fragrance. Nourishing Ingredients. Suitable for all skin types. IM A FAN 🤩 I’ll have to check in in a couple of months to give an updated review.

I’m From - Rice Toner: Hydration 💦
I’m From - Rice Toner: Hydration 💦
Ooo I love this toner. It’s so simple but does SO. MUCH. I'm from - Rice Toner I think oily skin hunnies would love this toner due to it’s lightweight property. It quickly sinks into my skin and makes it feel soft, silky, & smooth! This is a really hydrating product, in my opinion, so I think people with dry skin would also love this toner. ❗️It doesn’t come in a glass container anymore, so that’s a bummer. But, the formulation has stayed the same and I haven’t personally noticed any differences. 💡 Did you know: This product is made with 77.78% Rice Extract. Rice is known to provide a very light exfoliation (which is what leads to the skin brightening and anti-aging effects). Rice also contains amino acids (like lysine) which can promote collagen production. Further, this product contains Niacinamide - which helps with hydration, oil control, appearance of pores, inflammation. ✅ Benefits: Brightens and Evens skin tone Hydrating Anti-inflammatory Anti-Wrinkle 💁🏻‍♀️ How I Use: I don’t have a strict routine when it comes to toners, since they’re ultimately not necessary in a skin care routine (they’re a nice to have but not essential). I use this one a couple of days in a week, in the morning or night time, after cleansing. I make sure my face is damp and then turn a little bit of product onto my hands and pat it on. You don’t need a lot and make sure to shake before use. ☝🏼 I first purchased this product because I was researching non-exfoliating toners that would help me with my PIH. Over time, alongside the rest of my routine, my PIH did fade but I wouldn’t rely on this product alone to fade hyperpigmentation. I do think that my skin has extremely benefitted from this products hydrating properties.

Ride or Die Face Oil ✨
Ride or Die Face Oil ✨
Some freshly applied Squalane oil from The Ordinary to finish off my night time routine. I have been using this specific oil for years because of its lightweight property - so I don’t feel so greasy like a load of oil is sitting on my face (I definitely went a little heavy tonight but 2-3 drops of this is more than enough for you to pat on your face). ❗️ This oil is non-comedogenic (doesn’t clog your pores), so it’s basically safe for all skin types! 💡 Did you know: Squalene is naturally produced by your body? Unfortunately, as we age, we produce less and less of this oil. When Squalene is hydrogenated, it turns into Squalane - which is the more stable form and has a longer shelf life! ✅ Favorite Benefits & Properties: Anti-Inflammatory Hydrating Non-Comedogenic Cruelty Free (plant derived - not the shark squalene) 💁🏻‍♀️How I Use: I apply this as the last step of my nighttime routine - right after my moisturizer to lock in that hydration. I squeeze 2-4 drops on my hands and rub them together to heat up the oil. I then apply by patting all over my face and rubbing the oil in an upwards motion.

Five Steps to Frizz-Free Curls
Five Steps to Frizz-Free Curls
Don't let frizz keep you from a good hair day. Here are a few tips to keep your curls defined!

As a curly girl, when you wake up in the morning, do you often find that your great curls is rare at the root? And so many tutorials want you to start from scratch and wash your hair to refresh your curls. I'm going to teach you how to get more curly and add volume at the root! This tutorial focuses on restyling curly hair fast. It is so easy and fast that you don’t even have to wet your hair. STEP 1 DRY SHAMPOO I love dry shampoo sooo much. If you are a lazy girl like me, then you must have one!😘It’s my time-saving hair saviour that helps me to space out how often wash my hair. I love the volume and texture that dry shampoo gives my hair. If I don't wash my hair for about 3 or 4 days, my hair will definitely become oily and cannot go out. But withh a dry shampoo, I often use it in clean hair because it gives that beautiful lift at the roots without feeling heavy in my hair.  There are many kinds of dry shampoos available in the stores and I highly recommend Batiste which is my current favourite dry shampoo brand. STEP 2 FIX SQUASHED CURLS AT THE ROOT I do recommend you guys to use a curling wand in order to add a little more shape and definition across the top layer of your hair. The number of curls really depends on your hair. It gives the whole style a lift and makes it look like you’ve completely redone your hair. The secret is to find a small curling wand around about the same size as your curls. Thus, it looks just like the rest of your curls but with more definition. STEP 3 ZIGZAG YOUR PART Instead of having a straight part line in your hair, move your curls around to create a zigzag part. It gives the illusion of more volume on top of your head where your curls can often lay flat. STEP 4 PUMP UP THE VOLUME If you love dry shampoo for the volume, then you should get the XXL as well. The new formula is made with keratin and Inca Inchi oil and is the best. I do a little spritz of this around the crown of my head and on the sides where my hair tends to lay flat. Give it a minute to work its magic and then shake out your hair for mega volume for days. This curling tutorial only takes about 5 to 10 minutes. After you learn it, you don’t need to worry about how to create more volume at the root as a curly girl. Also, you don't need to care about the weather or how you are going to dry your hair during the day. Please comment any questions or suggestions!

THE TRUTH ABOUT THIS PRODUCT. 🧐
THE TRUTH ABOUT THIS PRODUCT. 🧐
Hey girl hey! So you wanna know the tea, the truth, hand on bible word of God, about this tik tok famous product The Ordinary - AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution ? Well girl you have come to the right place. I’ll tell ya how I use it, how long I use it and the pros and cons imo. But before I dive in.... PLEASE HIT THAT FOLLOW BUTTON SIS and give ya girl a cheer! LYLAS4eva if you do. ❤️ also if you want more content, follow my IG and tik tok @bealizbeauty. K. Now that I shamelessly plugged my social media accounts, here’s the lowdown on this product. Honestly, this product has 100% changed my skin for the better BUT there are some big things to get to used to if you are up for it. No tea no shade to those who don’t want to put up with its con because the con of this “perfect” product is a pretty big con. 1. How I use it: I used this product after I cleanse my skin with DHC - Deep Cleansing Oil and I use this 2x a week on Sundays and Wednesdays. (If you want to see an in-depth skincare routine, lmk in the comments below.) Do not use this product more than 2x a week! The bottle says so! 2. How long I use it: ONLY 10 MINS! Literally follow the bottle instructions. They are there for a reason. Do not leave this on longer than that. I haven’t tried it but I don’t think it helps your skin for the better. 3. Pros: Literally dark spots who? I’ve tried everything under the sun to lighten up my dark spots and none of those products have helped lighten and get rid of my dark spots better than this product. Goodbye Acne scars! Honestly I am notorious for popping pimples and picking at my scabs. DO NOT DO THIS. I’m a creature of habit and honestly am trying to grow out of this. But this product helps with my acne scars! It shrinks the scars and scabs that there basically is nothing left for me to pick at. 4. Con: OOOOO THIS PRODUCT BURNS. I’m on my 2nd bottle and this still stings my face. The sting of this product is NO JOKE. If you have sensitive skin, I definitely do not recommend this product. My skin is made of Teflon so I’m used to the sting but it does get to me sometimes. After some high level research, Lactic acid is a great alternative. I am a huge proponent for The Ordinary as a brand so this The Ordinary - Lactic Acid 10% + HA might be a pretty good alternative. So that’s the tea of this product. I’m on bottle #2 and it is one of my holy grail products. But I totally understand the aversion of this product. Let me know in the comments below what your experience has been if you have tried this product and if there are other products you have tried that has been a good alternative! LYLAS! Xoxo. UPDATE: THE LOVE ON THIS POST HAS BEEN AWESOME YALL! I really appreciate it. I’ve been trying to break into the beauty game for a while but had no success on YT or IG. All I ask is to check out my other posts and give them the same love! I’ll LYLAS4EVA! Thanks y’all! 💋

5 Tips for Diffusing Curls
5 Tips for Diffusing Curls
5 Tips for Diffusing Natural Curls: 1. Hover Diffuse to Maintain Length: What it is - Hovering the diffuser with the air coming from the sides of the curls with the hair dryer barrel parallel to the floor. What it does - This keeps the curls’ maximum length while drying. You will most likely get some shrinkage as your hair dries, but not as much as with cupping curls! 2. Root Lift for Volume: Place the teeth of your diffuser directly on your scalp a few inches from the root, and then push the hair up with the diffuser. This will lift the hair at your root and hold it in place while drying - the result is amazing volume. 3. Cup Curls for Volume: This is likely what you think when you hear of diffusing curls. Take small sections of hair and cup the curls in the bowl of the diffuser. I usually stay on a section for 30 seconds to a minute and then I move to a different section. Repeat until curls are dry. This method helps give your curls lots of spring and maximum volume. 4. Gently Move Your Curls While Diffusing: This one is very important! While diffusing, moving your curls from side to side (and even drying with your head upside down) will help create volume. You want to move your curls around with caution - the last thing we want to do is disrupt those curl clumps we formed while applying products! Gently use your hand to “sweep” your curls from side to side, being sure to keep clumps intact. Once your hair is fully dry is when you pull the clumps apart. 5. Wait Until Curls Are Completely Dry Before Sepeeating Clumps: Don’t try and manipulate/part your curls until they are 100% dry! This will help prevent unnecessary frizz and keep your curls looking gorgeous. *I always diffuse with low heat and low speed, give it a try but feel free to play around and see what works for you! xtava - Black Orchid Hair Diffuser xtava - 1875W Pro Hair Dryer - Salon Blow Dryer ECOSLAY - Banana Cream Hot Head Thermal Hair Care - Jeweled Hot Head MopTop - Gentle Shampoo ECOSLAY - Orange Marmalade #CherieCreator
