Banana Powder Application A Day Keeps The Eye Wrinkles At Bay
Ingredient: Banana and Vitamin C Product: OLE HENRIKSEN - Banana Bright Eye Crème Are you one of the people who used the Ben Nye Banana Powder that was so popular some time in the early 2000s? I was one of them, and I was really into it that time. So when I came across this banana eye cream on Instagram, it reminded me of the 2000 iconic banana powder that has a brightening effect. I thought to myself, maybe the banana fruit has indeed a brightening effect on the skin. Apart from banana, this product is also packed with Vitamin C. It’s the queen of brightening ingredients. It is known to help ease out discoloration, even out skin tone, and treat hyperpigmentation. It’s no wonder that skincare products that are specifically targeted to eliminating pigmentation contain Vitamin C. My skin type is dry combination and thankfully, I don’t suffer from eye wrinkles yet. But you know what they say about prevention being the best cure, so I can’t just wait for my wrinkles to arrive; I need to prevent them from surfacing. This product is pretty new to my routine; I just bought it about 2 weeks ago but wow, this product does an amazing job so it will stay on my shelf. I suffer from pretty dark under eye circles, but in the first week of using it regularly, I noticed a difference already in the tone of my under eye area. It appeared to be brighter thus, I look more awake and not tired. I love that it feels creamy but it doesn’t cake up so it’s a good makeup base too. Will definitely continue using this.
THOUGHTS ON OLEHENRIKSEN BANANA BRIGHT EYE CRÈME
OLE HENRIKSEN - Banana Bright Eye Crème I’ve been using this eye cream for 5 months. Here are my thoughts: OVERALL OPINION: I have dark shadows underneath my eyes & have accepted that those are genetic and probably aren’t going anywhere. The color/shade of my under eyes stays the same no matter what product or treatment I use. However the brightness of the area can be improved from various products [for me at least]. This eye cream does reduce the dullness and dryness under my eye area when I apply it. I also have slight folds/fine lines in that area, and while this product didn’t do anything for me in that department, the brightness it gives makes them less prominent. SCIENCE: the creme is made with pigments that are meant to mimic banana powder, which is known for its pale yellow tint to color correct dark areas. It also contains vitamin C, which aids in boosting collagen production. This is important especially because the body does not naturally produce vitamin C for itself, so if you are not already consuming foods high in vitamin C, then your skin will not be in the most supple/firm state. The under eyes can become much drier than the rest of the face, so it is important to maintain their moisture from the inside out. VALUE: This product is $39 at Sephora, which is standard for a good quality eye cream. I previously used Kiehl’s avocado eye cream and definitely noticed the difference in quality of both products. The Ole Henriksen creme is so much more hydrating & I notice it lasts a lot longer. It also holds makeup in place, esp concealer compared to other eye creams I’ve used. I’ve been using it for 5 months and I’m only halfway done with the pot. I’ll probably try a different eye cream once this one’s done just to experiment, but this is something I’ll definitely go back to in the future.

Wash Your Face the RIGHT way!
Everyone says the Cetaphil - Gentle Skin Cleanser is very affordable and cleanses well, but I don't think so. I will not repurchase this product. I use LANCÔME - Advanced Génifique Yeux Light-Pearl Eye Illuminator Youth Activating Concentrateevery morning and night and I'll pair it with the double extract serum at night to accelerate its absorption. I haven't really had any acne breakouts since starting to use it. clarisonic - MIA 2 FACIAL CLEANSING BRUSH I wash my face with this device about 1 to 2 times a week. I cannot use it too often because overusing it will damage my dry skin. Every time I use it, I focus on drawing circles around the nose area and after using it for a while, you'll find a reduction in blackheads. I use FARMACY - Honey Potion Renewing Antioxidant Hydration Mask twice a week. You can use Saborino's face mask sheets daily. My skin feels great after using them. Although the Saborino face mask is supposed to be used in the morning, I use it mostly at night because I think using masks before applying makeup is harmful to the skin. I try to keep my morning skincare routine as simple as possible and perform thorough skincare at night.
Worth the hype?
Dermalogica Multivitamin Power Recovery Masque dermalogica - Multivitamin Power Recovery Masque This is a must-have all year round. It is great as an SOS face mask for instant recovery after staying up late, making my skin feel delicate and translucent.👍 The masque cream will gradually oxidize and deepen in color when used. Filorga Meso-MaskFILORGA - 'Meso-Mask' Anti-Wrinkle Lightening Mask It brightens up my skin but not as naturally as how the Dermalogica mask brightens it. I will not be repurchasing it because it contains titanium dioxide.👎 Farmacy Honey Mask FARMACY - Honey Potion Renewing Antioxidant Hydration Mask The mask emulsified after massaging it as instructed. It felt warm when applied, which made me excited to see the results. However, it started to tingle a little as I was washing it off. It might be due to its deep cleansing properties but it's too irritable for sensitive skins. After washing it off, I felt no difference, while the tingling sensation lasted a few minutes. I will not repurchase this product.👎

My nightly routine w/retinal
Every night I choose a facial wash depending on how my face is feeling and what I’d like to be using. When I will be working with retinal in my routine, I like to start with a nice gentle exfoliation like TATCHA - The Deep Cleanse Exfoliating Cleanser It’s a gentle enough cleanser to use every day but I choose to use it 3-4 times a week. It’s a beautiful light scent and I love how soft it is on my skin, yet manages to exfoliate. I definitely recommend this cleanser if you’re a bit worried about working with physical exfoliants. It’s nothing to fear. 💜 Then again as I stated I’m using my retinal tonight so I want to be sure to have a very hydrated face. Hydration is key for me as retinal can be very drying for my skin. I use a lot of hydrating toners and essences to really plump up my skin before adding the retinal. These would be TATCHA - The Essence Plumping Skin Softener & INDIE LEE - CoQ-10 Toner & YOUTH TO THE PEOPLE - Superberry Hydrate + Glow Oil (these are just some I use) They all give my face the layer of hydration needed to move forward. Then I come in with Medik8 - Crystal Retinal I’m loving the retinal as I’ve only had small white heads surface and easily disappear. I did notice my skin becoming drier when I went up to level 6 but again, found a way to combat that. I’ve only been working with retinal a short few months so I have no results to share at this time. And finally when I am working with a strong active (such as retinal) I lather my face in moisturizer. I had yet to find a night time face mask that worked for me until I discovered this beauty YOUTH TO THE PEOPLE - Superberry Hydrate + Glow Dream Mask It’s the perfect consistency for my skin. Never a heavy, oily, sticky feeling. Just sinks in and keeps my face locked in moisture. And all the added benefits, it’s heart throbbing 💗 get excited over this one ya’ll! It’s good! And I always use an eye cream, day or night. And am loving FARMACY - Cheer Up Brightening Vitamin C Eye Cream with Acerola Cherry I’ve noticed a remarkable difference in the dark circles and just tone of my skin all around my eye. Hope me sharing my night time retinal routine can be helpful for some of you. I’m always here to answer questions
My Youth to the People Collection
•Adaptogen soothe + hydrate activated mist: a very fine hydrating mist. I use this as a toner and love how it makes my skin look! •Kale + green tea spinach vitamins superfood cleanser: this is my new favorite cleanser! It cleanses my skin without drying it out! •Kombucha + 11% AHA exfoliating power toner: I use this toner every other night and I wake up with such nice bright skin! One of the few toners I feel actually does something. It does apply slightly sticky but when I put all my other products on it goes away. •Adaptogen deep moisture cream: I’ve only tried this out a few time so I don’t have a full opinion yet but it definitely felt lightweight and sunk into my skin nicely. •Superberry hydrate + glow dream mask: this is by far my favorite night mask. It makes my skin so hydrated and glowy. These are all super star products and essentials in my skincare routine! I recommend these products 100%!
DREAM MASK ✨
This is literally one of my favorite, top for this year and hoping in my 2020 still on top✨ This is a super berry, with squalane, vitamin C, Hyaluronic acid and a dreamy texture I like to use AM to layer up with my current moisturizer and add more glow before applying the spf I fell in love with a travel size and they gently gifted me the full size, this one you can find it in the discovery kit, both in Sephora and their website YOUTH TO THE PEOPLE - Superberry Hydrate + Glow Dream Mask
YOUTH TO THE PEOPLE-Superberry Hydrate + Glow Dream Mask
Youth To The People’s Super Berry Dream Mask has a thick to matte, rich texture that locks in hydration and gives your skin an extra dose of THD Ascorbate (vitamin C). This formula helps to brighten skin and even out tone. Superberry is another amazing product from YTTP that I consistently reach for! There are so many great sleeping masks available right now. Aside from YTTP I also love laneige water sleeping mask and klairs Vitamin E mask from sokoglam

K-Beauty Faves 🙌🏽
Some of my favorite K-Beauty products are hands down from the brands Belif and Glow Recipe. The focus for both brands is healthy, glowy skin and the products deliver! The Belif Eye Bomb is hands down my favorite eye cream. It's lightweight, extremely hydrating and the jar lasts forever because you need the tiniest amount. For $48 I think it's comparable to the price of other eye creams, especially since it's a one stop shop. I use this day and night without feeling like I need any other products! Definitely a repurchase! belif - Eye Bomb gwp The Glow Recipe Watermelon Glow Sleeping Mask is another favorite of mine. It contains AHAs and hyaluronic acid. It's a jelly texture and can be used as your only step in your night routine or layered over other products. I like this mask, and at one point loved it, but it's falling short for me now. It's not as hydrating as I'd like an overnight mask to be. I do think that the price is fair at $45, I have only ever purchased this in sets and the smaller size lasts me a very long time! If you're looking for a smoothing and hydrating product I would try this, but if serious hydration is what your after keep looking. GLOW RECIPE - Watermelon + AHA Glow Sleeping Mask

I was gifted the Tatcha The Silk Peony eye cream through Influenster to test out and I’m IN LOVE. It’s a thick cream that melts into the skin blurring, smoothing and hydrating my under eyes. I can definitely tell a difference when I use this and when I don’t, and I honestly usually can’t tell if eye creams are working or not. It’s super expensive though, so I probably won’t repurchase but if you have the budget for it definitely wo rth it!
TATCHA-Luminous Dewy Skin Sheet Mask
🤓 I’d like to note that although I have been reaching for it nightly, I consider this a first impressions post since it has only been a week. . . . 🌖I consider this a night cream. It is marketed as a sleeping mask but its instructions state to “use nightly for best results”; traditional sleeping masks are used only a few nights a week. The smell is bright and fruity. The texture is thicc but fluffly. The color is vibrant and happy. The key ingredients of antioxidant rich Superberries, Vitamin C (stable newbie THD ascorbate) and Squalane is a wonderful advancement on the Superberry face oil while still allowing them to compliment each other. My dry skin babes will enjoy mixing in a few drops in for an extra dose of hydration. . . ✨ It has a slight balminess to the texture that makes its more robust, but it is not heavy.
YOUTH TO THE PEOPLE-Superberry Hydrate + Glow Dream Mask
Spotlight on some of my current skincare favs! 🍉Glow Recipe “Watermelon Glow Sleeping Mask”: an overnight radiance-boosting & skin-smoothing mask that smells amazing & has a fun, bouncy/lightweight texture 🥬Youth To The People “Kale + Green Tea/Spinach/Vitamins Superfood Cleanser”: an antioxidant-packed green juice cleanser that I have been using at night to remove makeup prior to my zoskinhealth exfoliating cleanser 🍯Farmacy “Honey Potion”: an antioxidant-packed hydration mask that has a warming sensation upon application as it turns from a pretty clear/yellow honey-like texture to a frothy rich & opaque cream; it tingles a little which lets me know it’s doing it’s job b/c my skin did have a noticeable glow after rinsing it off! Surprisingly, it doesn’t smell like honey though! 💦Red Earth “Deep Dive: Water Cream”: a refreshing gel cream that provides good hydration to skin & is lightweight enough for me to use prior to makeup (a lot of heavier moisturizers cause my skin to get oily pretty much immediately after I apply my makeup… this one doesn’t, which is why I love a good water cream!) ☁️Peter Thomas Roth “Water Drench: Hyaluronic Cloud Serum”: a powerful hyaluronic-acid containing serum that boosts hydration without adding oiliness; perfect for my oily skin to apply prior to makeup when it needs some moisture
