Living Proof Hairspray: Worth the Price?
I have a lot of hair but it’s very fine, which means if I want to curl my hair I need to use a lot of product to ensure all my hard woe with styling stays. I’m a big fan of living proof and this product has been something I was eyeing for a while. It retails for $36 CAD for 7.5 oz. so it is on the pricier side for a hair spray. In saying that, I am loving it. I love the scent of the living proof heat protecting spray and this smells very similar. I think all of their products have the same scent, which is kind of floral, kind of citrusy, and overall very nice and not overpowering. Living proof. - Style Lab Flex Hairspray I’m rating this 5 stars because: 1). The smell is lovely 2). It hold my curls/waves 3). It acts as a heat protectant so I usually spray my hair before styling with heat tools and then apply more after styling for extra gold 4). Super lightweight 5). It doesn’t make your hair feel crunchy I do recommend this if you’re like me and have fine hair and want a product that will hold your curls, etc. without weighing your hair down or giving it a crunchy feeling. I personally love curling my hair and using this because I can still run my fingers through my hair and have it feel natural. Downside: it’s expensive. But I think worth the investment.

My Current Favourite Serums
I don’t have one single favourite type of serum; I love using different types to target the concerns I may have. Below are my favourite non-exfoliating serums; my every day serums. My go-tos are hydrating, brightening, anti-aging/restorative. Disclaimer: my skin type is normal. PESTLE & MORTAR - Pure Hyaluronic Serum This is my favourite hydrating serum. It looks and feels so luxurious. I think it does a great job at adding that extra moisture to my skin. I’ll use this after a mist while my skin is still damp and then gentle rub and pat it in, then follow it with my moisturizer. I’ll use this in the AM & PM. GRAYDON - Fullmoon Serum If I could only ever use one serum for the rest of my life, this would be it. It has everything I love: anti-ageing effects, brightening, anti-pollution, hydrating, etc. This is a plant-based retinol alternative but it’s super gentle and just beautiful. I apply this after a face mist, other serums, and before my moisturizer. I use this in the PM. The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% I just did a small review on this product. I use this as a spot treatment more than anything. I’ll typically apply it whenever I happen to notice a spot haha. I’ll apply it as my first serum, directly onto said spot, then follow with other serums and moisturizer. VERSED - STROKE OF BRILLIANCE Brightening Serum I love vitamin C. It’s so hard to choose a favourite but I’m reaching more for this currently. I love how brightening this serum is. I’ll use this in the AM before moisturizer. The Ordinary - Retinol 0.2% in Squalane The most gentle retinol! This feels more like an oil but I consider it a serum because it’s targeting a specific concerns (still hydrating though). I apply this in the PM after serums and after moisturizer. I think the key to picking out a serum is to think of what concerns you have and what you want to target. Expensive doesn’t always mean better and above I have a mixture of both. For instance the Graydon serum is $87 CAD, whereas The Ordinary retinol serum is only like $7 CAD. Buy what you can afford!
Niacinamide as a Spot Treatment
I’m sure everyone reading this is very familiar with niacinamide so I won’t go into much detail lol. These are my 3 favourite (and the only 3 I’ve ever owned haha) niacinamide serums. Niacinamide is my go-to for a spot treatment. I’m very fortunate in that I don’t have acne and I only get the occasional blemish (usually hormonal related). When I do get a blemish I like to treat it ASAP. I never pick or try to pop them either. I immediately put niacinamide on the area and they honestly disappear within a day or two. While I understand this may not work for everyone, this is what I find works best for me. My skin type is mostly normal and like everyone I do get the ocassional spot. The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% The Ordinary’s is my most reached for, mostly because it’s so inexpensive and easy to get. I find the dropper is much better for application than the Inkey Lists’ THE inkey LIST - Niacinamide Oil Control Serum I love this product but the top isn’t my favourite. I must prefer the dropper. GOOD MOLECULES - Niacinamide Serum I love this product, too, however good molecules take sooooo long to get to Canada and it makes me not want to use this and hair savour it haha.

Aluminum-Free Antiperspirant! 🧡
There’s so many aluminum-free deodorants, and it’s hard to find an aluminum-free antiperspirant. This Canadian Brand (Green Beaver) has been my saviour over the last little while. The Green Beaver Company - Women’s Aluminum-Free Natural Antiperspirant/Bliss The scent I love is vanilla bliss. It’s actually a blend of coconut and vanilla. It’s similar to the Native coconut & vanilla, but I find this actually keeps me dry and smelling fresh. I actually prefer this scent over the Native one as ids more vanilla-y. The scent isn’t over powering and it is lovely! Vanilla is one of my favourite scents :) The Green Beaver makes multiple scents. Check out their website if you’re Canadian :) 🇨🇦 Main Features: 💚Aluminum-free antiperspirant 💚NaturaDri™ Technology: Clinically proven effective wetness protection 💚100% natural (Certified COSMOS) 💚24-hour odour protection 💚Dermatologist tested 💚Hypoallergenic 100% recommend trying this if you’re like me and didn’t have luck with the Native deodorants and want a natural antiperspirant :) Ingredients: Zea Mays (corn) Starch Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride Cetearyl Alcohol Coconut Oil Triethyl Citrate Glyceryl Behenate Lauryl Laurate Zinc Ricinoleate * Carnauba Wax Castor Oil Mimosa Flower Wax * Tapioca Sunflower Seed Oil Jojoba Esters Polyglycerin-3 Fragrance

Natural Deodorant Worth the Switch?
NATIVE - Coconut & Vanilla (Sensitive) There’s a huge following for this deodorant, and while the idea of it was super appealing, I’m not 100% convinced I want t continue using it. I enjoy the scent of the coconut vanilla, as well as the peach, but I don’t think my body likes them. There is a transition period (~ 2 weeks) where your body will likely need time to adjust if you’re using antiperspirant with aluminum, but even after that period I wasn’t a fan. I found the scent would disappear quickly and that, for instance on a hot day, or after working out, it didn’t help control odour. I don’t mind feeling more of the sweat, but as I said, very little odour control and reapplying didn’t mask the smell; you could still smell the sweat and the coconut vanilla scent. It was like trying to mask your house with febreze lol. Even on a regular day it didn’t cut it. I think I may be part of the minority where this didn’t work for me. I’m very disappointed because I love the scents and really wanted it to work. I work long shifts at the hospital and don’t have time to reapply deodorant throughout the day/night, so having to do so with both of these isn’t ideal. Overall, I love the smells and I’m still using these but more so on days off where I’m lounging around. I’m jealous of everyone Native deodorant has worked for haha. Also, the consistency is nice and creamy and applied beautifully. It doesn’t leave any stains on my clothing. I still recommend trying because natural products are honestly the way to go these days and the Native deodorants may work for you.

The Best Hairspray for Thin/Fine Hair
If you’re like me and have fine hair, you’ll love this hairspray. This VERB - Ghost Hairspray gives you the hold you want without feeling crispy. The scent isn’t the best smell but I don’t find it lingers. I hate feeling hairspray in my hair and with this you can’t even tell you’ve used any. I love having a hold but also still being able to run my fingers through my hair and having movement. This hairspray has a medium hold but it’s super light-weight and won’t weigh your hair down :) This retails for $20 CAD, which isn’t horrible considering how perfect I find it for my hair. The only downside is that the spray nozzle will sometimes get clogged up. 100% recommend this.
Heatless Overnight Waves✨
Hi guys!!!! I’m so excited to show you how I do my heatless overnight waves! They are SUPER easy and always look amazing😍 My hair is pretty pin straight and curling doesn’t always do the trick, but these stay in so well, I’m obsessed😆 This is my go to hairstyle when my hair gets a little greasy. I feel like it holds much better then when it’s clean😅✨ HOW TO: -start with damp hair -section your hair into 2 parts -put a little gel in in (this helps tremendously💖) -then I grab 2 pieces of my hair at the top -I cross over -grabbing hair from only the bottom part -then crossing it over -continuing all the way down (: Then go to sleep, and wake up with beautiful waves (that last me about 2 days) 💕
Applying Skincare Knowledge... To Your Body!
I am guilty of not taking very good care of the skin on my body when compared to the meticulous attention I give to my face. I’ve recently dialed in on my sunscreen application for both body and face, but I was a bit lost on how else to care for my skin beyond applying lotion twice daily. Here are some tips I’ve come across in my attempt to take better care of all of my skin... • Retinol Isn’t Only Good For Your Face! I didn’t expect to see tons of results by adding a couple drops of my favourite over the counter retinol (The Ordinary - Retinol 1% in Squalane ) to my body lotion in the evenings, but I’ve actually noticed an increase in the softness, smoothness, and overall evenness of my skin. I have less “chicken skin” texture on my arms and old scars have become much less noticeable after about eight months of application. • Benzoyl Peroxide vs Salicylic Acid For Body Acne. I own a lot of cleansers. Sometimes, if it doesn’t work out for my face (or works out REALLY well!), it ends up being added to my shower as a body wash- and I can’t rave enough about how amazing CeraVe - Acne Foaming Cream Cleanser has been on my chest for the hormonal acne I get right below my collarbones. It helped tremendously on my shoulders as well, minimizing breakouts without drying out my skin. But I found it didn’t help much on my back or the ingrown hairs on my thighs- instead, CeraVe - SA Smoothing Cleanser has been working magic on my backne and the little bumps I’d normally get after shaving! I use it twice a week and the Acne Cream Cleanser twice per week, with my JOSIE MARAN - Skin Dope Ultra Nourishing Daily Body Wash in their citrus scent filling the three days between. • Salicylic Acid Kills Calluses! I apply my PAULA'S CHOICE - Skin Perfecting 2% BHA Liquid Exfoliator two times per week using my palms and it has been tremendously at peeling away the dry skin on my palms. The calluses on my palms and fingers (from lifting weights) haven’t even had a chance to try to form substantially, kept at bay just with the twice weekly exfoliation. It inspired me to start applying The Ordinary - Salicylic Acid 2% Solution onto my feet before my lotion to soften the soles and heels beautifully! What are some ways you apply your skincare knowledge on your body? #CheriePartner

Girls with fine hair cannot miss this conditioner!
Kiehl's - Amino Acid Shampoo Kiehl's - Amino Acid Conditioner Kiehl's amino acid shampoo and hair conditioner are hyped for a long time ago! I've heard about it for a long time, but I haven't bought it at first. After being strongly recommended by my friends, I finally bought the size of 500ml at a discount and then fell in love with them quickly! So I bought a size of 1L directly this time. It will last for at least 1 year. I am too lazy to check those ingredients, so I’ll just talk about my use experience. First of all, my hair is so smooth after washing that it even look like a little elastic. In particular, this conditioner, which I particularly recommend today, works well with other shampoo products, too. Just a little bit of it can make your hair look super healthy and fluffy. It helps create more volume on my hair. Also, after using this product, you can go many days without having to wash your hair. I don't like to wash my hair, unless I have something important to do the next day. Since I used this product, my hair can be maintained for several days fresh, not greasy, not collapsing and itchy. So washing your hair once a week is totally OK. When you realize, well, you don't have to wash your hair tonight, it feels so good! Finally, it can increase the amount of hair which is also my fav point! The water here is very alkaline. I was not used to it and my hairline has receded. Then my friend told me that “Your hair care product is not right, plz choose those containing moisturizing factors.”so I bought this set of products, and as expected I no longer lose hair. What's your fav conditioner recently?

Acne scars and dark spots are disappearing
I’ve had acne breakouts constantly since I was 13 and have scars and dark spots. I’ve tried so many acne products but the Kate Somerville EradiKate Acne Treatment has worked wonders on my skin. I’ve used it every night after my normal skin care routine and leave it on overnight and wash it off in the morning. The results have been stunning! I’ve never seen anything work so fast and be so effective. It can dry your skin out a little but I have pretty oily skin to begin with so I haven’t had any issues with it. I’ve used this product for about a week but already has very promising results! Can’t wait to see the long term effects! So far I’m absolutely in love with this product!!

Basic Nighttime Routine for Normal Skin
How to start a nighttime routine: These are some basic steps you could take when starting a nighttime routine. 1). Cleanser 2). Toner 3). Treatments 4). Eye cream 5). Moisturizer 6). Spot treatment It’s best practice to layer your products from lightest to heaviest/richest. I used the Marcelle micellar water to remove my makeup, then I followed with the Farmacy clean bee gentle cleanser. Next, depending on what your skin needs, this is where you apply your treatments; these can include hydrating serums, retinols, oils, peels, etc. I used TO‘s hyaluronic acid serum and then the TO’s cold pressed rosehip seed oil. It’s best to use water-based before oil-based. Then I will apply my eye cream and then my moisturizer. Lastly, you need to use a spot treatment, this is the time to do it. Cleansing your skin can be a great way to unwind at the end of the day. I personally find it really relaxing. I will only tone my face 2-3 x a week to detox/balance my skin, which I skipped tonight as I did so the previous night. Treatment is great to repair and protect your skin. The two I chose were hyaluronic acid to hydrate my skin, and the rosehip seed oil as it is a great antioxidant/fatty acid to promote cell regeneration, etc. And I always use an eye cream and face cream before bed for that extra hydration :) 1). MARCELLE - Micellar Water 2). FARMACY - Clean Bee Ultra Gentle Facial Cleanser 3). The Ordinary - Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5 4). The Ordinary - 100% Organic Cold Pressed Rose Hip Seed Oil 5). FIRST AID BEAUTY - Eye Duty Niacinamide Brightening Eye Cream 6). Neutrogena - Neutrogena Hydroboost Water Gel Moisturizer
