This or That: Best Product for Shiny Hair
My hair is wavy, very prone to frizz and I have a lot of baby hairs that won’t quit. Lately, I’ve noticed that it’s lacking in the shine department. Suddenly in dire need of shiny hair, I decided to scroll through Sephora’s hair bestsellers to see which products could help. I landed on Kerastase’s Elixir Ultime Oil Serum (which has 4 ½ stars and ranks in at $50) and Amika’s Supernova Moisture and Shine Hair Cream (which has 4 stars and ranks in at $25). A little about the products: KÉRASTASE - Elixir Ultime Oil Serum is designed to add hydration and prevent breakage for anti-frizz shine using a blend of maize oil, procaxi oil, and argan oil. It can be used before, during, and after blow-drying for frizz-free, super-shiny, and hydrated hair. amika: - Supernova Moisture and Shine Cream , on the other hand, is a weightless, conditioning leave-in cream that adds shine, detangles, tames frizz, and protects hair from heat styling. Designed to be used on damp hair, it helps to boost hair's ability to retain moisture, while providing a silky, smooth texture. A heat activated complex restores shine and smoothness to hair. Rules of the experiment: To ensure that the results were the same, I made sure to use both on damp hair that had been washed with the same shampoo and conditioner. I also used both after using Drybar’s Velvet Hammer leave-in, which I always use for frizz and adding a little extra hydration. I also airdried my hair on both days. Results and thoughts: Kerastase is literally liquid gold. It has a lovely, luxurious scent and is thicker than your average hair serum because of its oil-serum hybrid. This not only added a healthy shine to my hair but I also found that it made it feel so soft. I’ve used it in the past on its own and found that my ends were still a little dry and found that it works best with a hydrating leave-in – it mixes well with others, which I love. My hair can be prone to oiliness and I was afraid to apply the product to my roots. To prevent excess oil and shine, I focused application to the bottoms and then applied the last bits to the roots. This worked really well. Overall, it helped tame minor frizz and really added some shine into my hair. I will definitely be repurchasing. Amika’s isn’t my fave. I really wanted to like this formula because of the price, lovely scent and its gorgeously hydrating texture, but I found that it didn’t really do much. I didn’t notice any increase in shine or hydration and felt like my hair remained the same. Like with Kerastase’s Elixir, I have also tried this solo before and didn’t think it was very hydrating and wanted to see how it performed with a hydrating base – it didn’t mix well with the Drybar leave-in and left my hair feeling hard and sticky. Not my favorite hair product out there and will not be repurchasing.
CGM! The best curl defining cream I have ever used😍
Many girls pay attention to keeping their curls last longer. This hair oilMOROCCANOIL - Moroccanoil Treatment must be familiar to everyone. MOROCCANOIL - Intense Curl CreamThis curly styling cream and hair oil are perfect matches. They can both fix damaged hair and keep curls. The first time I used this cream was in a salon. I feel it was moisturizing but not sticky at all. I immediately asked what product it was and then bought it! It can be used for a long time. I think girls with curly hair should have one at home no matter whether your hair is damaged or not. I have to say this is really the best moroccanoil curldefining cream I have ever used. After washing my hair, I'll apply hair oil and this cream to my hair. Whether it is blow dried or air dried, my curls will be shaped well. It also smells good. It is a little expensive but the price is ok for me. It should be better to use it with Moroccan hair oil, but when I ran out of it, I replaced it with KÉRASTASE - Elixir Ultime Oil Serum. To be honest, I'll not rebuy Kerastase hair oil. After using it, it is difficult to wash my hair, and my hair doesn't feel soft. I highly recommend Moroccanoil hair oil and curl defining cream!

💙What I got my bf for Valentines Day💙
Happy Valentines Day everyone! Time for some self-love & self-care! I’m not super big into Valentines Day, & my bfs birthday is in a month, but since this came in the mail I really wanted to gift it to him today. He puts most of his skin/hair/body care in my hands... So unless I’m pushing it on him, he’s stubborn & not that big into self care💔 ❤️Sooo, I had been secretly researching things for hair loss & came across red light therapy. Red light therapy is a safe & natural treatment option for (mainly hereditary types of) hair loss. It’s been gaining popularity with professionals & the public. Backed by a strong base of peer-reviewed clinical research, red light treatments have increased hair count, hair density & hair thickness for all genders. HAIRMAX - LaserComb Ultima 9 Device$199 Though this device is a bit pricey, there’s another comb from Hairmax with only 3 more lasers (12) & that one is $399 🤷🏻♀️ There’s even a helmet/headband like device that’s $799! So compared to their other models, & other brands, this was an affordable option & had really great reviews... I’m really curious & will be so excited & happy for him if he sees results. I figure it can’t hurt. Though he was like, ugh I have to do this for 30 minutes a week?! I said I’ll do it for him lol. That’s love right? How it works/The Claims: 🌱This device works through a process known as Photo-Biostimulation, similar to Photosynthesis (which causes growth in plants) 🚨It also utilizes Laser Phototherapy. This “laser comb” delivers visible light in the red spectrum to your scalp. This therapeutic, nourishing light energy stimulates growth factors, extends the growth phase of hair & helps to restore a healthy hair growth cycle, which results in new hair growth with increased density & fullness. There’s a lot of research & so many people seem to find it effective. So I’m really excited, even though my hair is so thick I wish I could just transfer some to him. 🧬Future science I’m sure... That being said, I have read that this is mainly effective for those with hereditary types of hair loss & unfortunately those suffering from Alopecia may not see results... 🤞🏼I’ll definitely be taking photos & giving this device a complete review & updates as we go along. 💙These we’re actually 2 minis from my Sephora bday present, but last time we ran out of Moroccanoil Treatment Oil he asked if I would buy more! It’s so cute to me when he actually likes a product... I’m still trying to get him a real skincare routine that he’ll stick with, but that’s a long post for another day🙃 MOROCCANOIL - Moroccanoil Treatment MOROCCANOIL - Hydrating Styling Cream 💦I also really liked the water bottles@cheriesent out in the anniversary package, so I grabbed him his own so he would stop stealing mine!
Hair Care 👩🏻🦰
I have always tried to take good care of my hair so I have experimented with so many products. These are all my currently favorites: •☀️ Nature Lab. - Shine Clarifying Scalp Scrub - I use this after shampooing & being using conditioner. This stuff foams up sooo much so you really only need a pea sized amount! It makes my roots so soft & shiny! Love it!! •☀️ RAW SUGAR - Healing Power Hair Masque - I put this in my hair after washing out conditioner & leave it in for about 5-10 minutes in the shower while I shave & wash my body. I can’t believe how soft this makes my hair! I can’t live without this stuff!! •☀️ Apothecary BLVD Thickening Biotin Leave-In ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ - I actually use this extra brand of shampoo & conditioner & I love them so I figured why not try the leave-in too! I’m so glad I did because it has helped my hair growth so much & helped me get rid of so much breakage that I have always dealt with! •☀️MOROCCANOIL - Moroccanoil Treatment - I have used this stuff for YEARS! It is so amazing & you only need a little bit! It makes your hair so soft & shiny but it doesn’t weigh it down like other oil products tend to. It literally gives your hair this beautiful glow! Such a must have!! •☀️ JOHN FRIEDA - Secret Weapon Touch-Up Crème - This stuff is my holy grail!! I have always had some breakage on top of my head, leaving these annoying little hairs that always stick up! Well this stuff holds them all down without making my hair hard or even looking like I have product in! I wish I had found this stuff sooner!!! Have you ever used any of these products? What are you absolutely favorite hair products?? 💖 @cherie@Cheriebeauty@CheriePick
Say bye👋 to your dry hair!
As a girl who has been dyeing hair, my hair is really dry and coarse. I used to be very lazy and never cared about my hair care. Once I went to the salon, my barber blew my hair to 80% dry, and coated me with the hair oil as shown in the pics. This effect is really impressive. MOROCCANOIL - Moroccanoil Treatment Moroccanoil is called the best hair care oil in the world by many people, and even ranked first in the list of Korean favorite hair care oil. At that time, I bought it on behalf of the buyer. The price of 100 ml was $44, which was relatively affordable. Its main effect is to repair damage, smooth hair and restore luster. Although it is oily, it is very easy to absorb, It is used twice a week. When the hair is half dry, the hair will show a natural and healthy luster, and there will be no residue on the hands after using it. The scent is pure natural nut flavor, with short lasting time. KÉRASTASE - Elixir Ultime Oil Serum This brand——Kerastase is no stranger to many people. It is famous for its caviar scalp care. This is a birthday present from my friend. The market price is about £33.10 for 100ml. Kerastase can reduce fluffy and tangled hair, moisten hair and make it more manageable, repair dry hair, resume healthy hair, lastingly maintain humidity of hair and make beautiful hair smooth, soft and very shiny. Unfortunately, this hsir oil has no fragrance, transparent texture.I have oily hair, and I think this one is more suitable for dry hair friends. Comparison of two products—— Personal use effect： Moroccanoil＞Kerastase Fresh texture: Moroccanoil＞Kerastase Price：Kerastase＞Moroccanoil Scent: Moroccanoil＞Kerastase Nutrients：Kerastase＞Moroccanoil At the end, whether it's perm or not, we need to take good care of our hair.

Some common mistakes you might not know when using curling iron...
As we all know, curling irons instantly fix hair by high temperatures, which can cause damage to our hair. But we girls can't live without curling irons. Of course, having a good curling iron is not enough. You need to learn how to use it better. However, many girls, especially beginners, make mistakes when using curling iron. Here I’d like to point out some mistakes you may make in daily use. First, don’t use curling iron when your hair is still wet, or you will get terrible wavy hair. The moisture needed by the hair will evaporate with the heat of the curling iron. After a long time, your hair will also become drier and even get hair furcation and breakage . Second, don’t let your curling iron touch your hair for a long time, which will not damage the protein in the hair. It's usually best to remove the curling iron in three to five seconds. Third, apply a little hair oil before you use curling iron, which can protect your hair from exposing to high temperature directly. It also help smooth your curly hair. I usually useMOROCCANOIL - Moroccanoil Treatment, which is moisturizing but not greasy. Fourth, When curling hair, many people are used to start from hair ends with a curling iron, and then turn the curling iron to wrap the hair around it. In fact, this is wrong. The correct way is that take the curling iron close to the root of the hair and wrap the hair around it manually, and then stay for a while to loosen it. Fifth, don’t curl too much hair at one time to save time, because if the hair in the curling iron is too thick, heat distribution is uneven, then the curling effect is poor, it’s easy to be straight again for a while. Curling is a technical job. Few people can curl it successfully at the beginning. More practice is the most important thing. And in the practicing process, try to avoid some common mistakes. HOW TO REPAIR + SMOOTH DAMAGED HAIR
There are two major causes of hair damage—bleaching and heat. In my case, my hair is a little bit damaged from heat because I like to use a hair straightener on my hair. When my hair was shorter, it was a great tool for making sure everything looked super sleek and straight. Now that it’s a little bit longer, it’s a great tool for creating relaxed, loose waves. Unfortunately, relying too much on my hair straightener has caused some heat damage to my hair—and here’s how I combat it. I know when my hair has suffered a bit of heat damage when it tangles easily, feels rough, looks frizzy, and I have visible split ends. You can see how frizzy it looks in the before image! True hair damage, like split ends, can’t be fixed overnight. However, there are some tips and tricks that you can do to help your hair feel less damaged and prevent more damage from happening. Use a hydrating mask with a lot of plant oils. I’ve recently been using this Nourish Mask from Jungle Fever. It’s loaded with Shea Butter, Murumuru Butter, and Babassu Oil to really moisturize hair in the cuticle and prevent the dryness that comes with damaged hair. If you heat style your hair frequently (or have bleached hair) it’s important to deep condition it at least once a week to keep it looking shiny and healthy. Use a hair oil. Hair oils do double duty when reducing the look of hair damage. First, they do actually moisturize the hair to prevent dryness and more damage from happening. Secondly, especially with oils that are blended with a bit of silicone, they help the hair look and feel much shinier, so your hair looks healthier and a little bit less damaged. Hair oil is my secret trick to freshening up my hair when I’ve skipped masking a few too many weeks in a row.
Coarse Hair Is No Match For These Holy Grail Products
Coarse hair can be ultra-difficult to keep shiny and smooth. It seems like coarse hair has a mind of its own! My natural hair is quite curly and coarse, but it's also on the thinner side. If I don't use my holy grail hair care products, I look like a poodle. For lack of better words! The tricky thing with my hair is that while it needs a major boost of hydration, I tend to get oily roots quite fast because it's on the thinner side. Luckily, I've found some excellent products that combat my course dry strands without my roots looking like an oil slick. Products I can't live without: 1. OLAPLEX No.6 Bond Smoother Reparative Styling Creme $28 This is sulfates & paraben-free styling cream is such a hair-saver. It comes in a 3.3oz (recyclable) bottle and smells delicious. A little goes a long way; this stuff is potent. I use about a pea size amount and run it through damp hair. I use it on dry hair too after styling. I've been using it for around a year, and I'm already on my second bottle. I will repurchase it - no doubt about it! 2. OLAPLEX No.7 Bonding Oil $28 In my mind, OLAPLEX can do no wrong, so it's no wonder I'm obsessed with the bonding oil as well. The 1oz bottle comes in a small, easy to use bottle. I put about 3-4 drops in the palms of my hands and mix it with OLAPLEX No.6 and put in my dry hair. It makes my hair look shiny, feel softer, and it smells light & fresh. I'm still on my first bottle (a little goes a long way), but I know I'll be repurchasing when I finally run out. I use this mixture (No.6 + No.7) about twice a week to keep my coarse hair feeling soft.
😱Can’t believe that my hair becomes so smooth and shiny after using...
My hair is straight and fine. I always go to the salon to perm my hair, and use curling irons for styling at home, which together cause my hair to become dry, damaged and with frizz and stubbornness. Girls who have coarse hair as me must pay attention to moisturize hair. So do I. I'm always looking for hair care products that make my hair hydrated, sleek and shiny. Here are two products that I would like to share with you among all the hair care products I have used so far. Because after using them, my hair becomes so smooth and shiny! 1. aussie - 3 Minute Miracle Reconstructor Hair Conditioner The best hair conditioner I’ve ever used is Aussie 3 Minute Miracle Reconstructor deep hair conditioner. It is designed for hair that has too much fun or damaged hair with a nourishing and intensely hydrating formula, infused with Australian Macadamia Nut Oil which leaves hair feeling glorious again. It is an absolutely amazing product which restores my hair everytime leaving its shiny and soft. It’s easy to use. It works into wet hair, then apply it and wait for 3 minutes. Rinse it and dry your hair. You’ll be able to instantly feel the difference! 2. KÉRASTASE - Elixir Ultime Oil Serum This Kérastase hair oil can make a miracle to hair! It is infused with marula oil, camellia oil, argan oil and so on. Hair oil has many benefits: nourishment, protection, shine, softness and a healthy, finished look. Also, it is suitable for all type of hair, especially for coarse dry hair. For me, it is perfect to tame my frizz, controls my ends. I usually put 2 pump of this oil on the middle and ends of hair. It leaves my hair more supple with beautiful shine. Have you tried them before?

Magic in a bottle✨
This hair oil is literally magic in a bottle✨ And how beautiful it is😍 Quick backstory on my hair- I have such a frizzy hair. Oily at the scalp and dry at the ends. My major concern is frizz, dullness and split ends. I have long hair and haven’t had a haircut since months. I permanently straightened it two years ago which was a great experience. But my hair now is back to how it was. Wavy , frizzy, unmanageable and dry at the ends. This honey infused hair oil doesn’t make my hair oily or greasy and that’s what I love the most about it. It calms down my frizz and makes my hair softer and shinier. My hair has never felt this softer and manageable ever. I use a few drops on my wet hair and my hair dries down so soft and frizz-free. I mostly do not use a blow dryer. I hardly use any heat. I also use this as touch ups. It has basically given a life to my dead and damaged looking hair. It has quickly become a staple in my haircare routine. And ohhh it smells heavenly!!!
