I finally gave in and tried the Curl Talk line
Welcome to my very first Cherie review!! I've been following the Curly Girl Method (with some modifications here and there) for two years or so now. I've been eyeing the Curl Talk line since it came out, and for some reason I just never made the plunge... until now! These are my first impressions. For reference, I have 2c, fine, medium porosity hair. The second pic is my hair on day one, and the third pic is after I refreshed on day two. Curl Talk Scalp Cleansing Oil: This right here is the star of the show. I have a dry scalp that gets flakes fairly easily, and this is probably the best shampoo I've ever used. My scalp felt so happy after using this. It's strong enough to get rid of buildup and flakes, yet hydrating enough for my dry scalp. If you can only try one product from this line, make it this one. Curl Talk 3-in-1 Conditioner: I enjoyed this conditioner. I used it as a rinse out conditioner. it detangled fairly well and has some nice protein ingredients if your hair likes protein. I say give it a try! Curl Talk Leave-In Conditioner: I like this leave-in because it's a lightweight spray. It's hard to find a spray leave-in that actually sprays like a mist and actually hydrates curly hair. It also works as a heat protectant for diffusing which is a nice added bonus. Curl Talk Curl Cream: So, I'm not typically a cream gal because they can weigh down my hair. I'm typically a mousse gal cause I love volume. I've tried the Curl Talk mousse before, but I find it to be pretty sticky. This curl cream is pretty dang great. It's hydrating enough to give me some nice definition, yet lightweight enough to give me some volume. It's kind of like finding a unicorn. I'm impressed so far. Let me know what you think of the Curl Talk line!

Re-Lifting Curls Hairstyle!
Re-Lifting Curls Hairstyle!
Hi everyone, This is my first time doing a video like this, so I apologize if it’s not the greatest editing or quality, but I do hope that you’re able to enjoy! This is how I retouch or re-lift my hair whenever I’m going out! For reference, I have type 3A curls and thin hair. Also, I last washed my hair on Sunday and recorded this video on Tuesday, so you can see that curls can remain intact as long as you know how to take care of them. Notice how I barely have any tangles also and how important it is to COMB with your fingers whenever you’re doing this, especially on the underneath part of your hair, where most of the tangling occurs. I will provide more tips on how to avoid getting your hair tangled or full of knots in the near future, so stay tuned! You will also notice how I didn’t add any WATER AT ALL. I use Carol's Daughter - Hair Milk Nourishing and Conditioning Refresher Spray instead. While I understand that it tends to be easier to just soak your hair in water, it is NOT HEALTHY to do that EVERY DAY. Why? First, depending on where you live, the chemicals (whether it’s Magnesium, Chloride, Fluoride, etc) that are added to your potable water VARIES and can definitely be damaging and lead to over drying your hair. For us curly hair people, this is not what we want, as our hair already TENDS to be more DRY NATURALLY. Ever since I’ve reduced the amount of water that I add to my hair, I’ve seen a great difference! Remember, adding moisture is the key, not the other way around. I’ve already provided a review for the other products that I use in this video, even the hair dryer that I use, so make sure to check out my previous posts if you’re interested! I’m certain that they’ll provide more information that help you in your hair care journey. I’ll list them once again: Carol's Daughter - Hair Milk 4-in-1 ''Combing'' Crème aussie - Sun Touched Shine Hairspray CONAIR - InfinitiPRO 1875 Watt AC Pro Hair Dryer Rose Gold

Quick + easy party hair! My go to 90’s style!
Quick + easy party hair! My go to 90’s style!
We love a cute and time efficient hair style! I’m not big on styling my hair, but this is my go to style for heading out or to a party. It’s fun and girly! I have pretty straight and fine hair. My hair doesn’t hold curls well, so this is perfect for my hair! ghd - Classic Styling Iron My favorite straightener! As you can see in my video, it glides through so easy and straightens as well as curls. It heats up very quickly and gets the job done. I’ve had this for years and it has lasted so well. It is on the pricey end, but worth it! KENRA PROFESSIONAL - Platinum Silkening Gloss My favorite hair product to add shine and smooth out my fly always. It smells SO GOOD. A little goes a long way. Don’t put too much or you’ll get the greasy hair look. It’s super lightweight so it won’t weigh your style down. KENRA PROFESSIONAL - Volume Spray 25 I take this hair spray with me everywhere! Really holds hair styles in place and I have hair that never stays. It’s humidity resistant, flake free, fast drying, wind resistant, and has a SUPER HOLD. #cheriecreator

My favorite drugstore volume products 🤍
My favorite drugstore volume products 🤍
So I’m going out with my friend today to an apple orchard back home (I’m originally from OH but I moved to PA almost two years ago) so I need my hair to be a little bit presentable lol it’s been about a few days since I washed my hair. It’s not enough time to need a dry shampoo but it is a little flat. Two of my favorite drugstore hair care products to give a little bit of volume back to my hair when it’s goes flat are the eva·nyc - zero gravity volume powder and #Got 2b - Volumanic Hairspray[products]#[FourStars] (Also, we’re gonna ignore the fact that I’m watching Skincare by Hyram in the background and my mouth is open the whole time ☺️) Eva NYC is one of my favorite drugstore brands in general! The version of their volume powder I have is a mini but the full size retails for $12. Super affordable! Eva NYC claims this is a weightless styling powder that adds volume, creates texture, and increases fullness. On days where I don’t want to style my hair I tend to flop it around all day. If it’s flat this kind of defeats the purpose. That’s when this powder comes in hand. I usually apply it the same way I apply dry shampoo. I separate my hair into sections, apply the powder (for this I just gently tap the bottom), and then work it into the hair. My favorite thing about this powder if it does give the hair texture. When you work it into your hair you can 100% feel the powder. It almost feels sticky but not in a gross way. The powder sticks to the hair to give it that texture. The powder is is white and applies white but once you work it into the hair you don’t see that white caste at all. You can see from my original hair to when I applied the powder on the left side of my head the textured pieces in the front it gives. I love this powder because not only does it give a little bit of volume and fullness to my hair but unlike any natural body I have that falls flat during the day this will stay all day because of the texture of the powder. If you have flat hair I totally recommend trying this product! Or even if you like styling your hair a lot. The grip this product gives the hair will help keep styles in place. I don’t always do this step but if I know I’ll be outside I’ll spray my hair down with some hairspray. My favorite hairspray from the drugstore is the Got 2b Volumanic hair spray. Schwartzkopf claims this hairspray will give you the highest level of hold from root to tip. You can find it on amazon for $5.99 (I originally got mine from Ulta but I can’t find it anymore). This does have a scent to it which I don’t mind but it just smells like your typical hairspray. I usually get my hair in the placement I want and then I’ll spray this all over to set the placement. It doesn’t make your hair crunchy but you can feel it if you touch your hair. I would compare this to some pro hair hair sprays in the term of high hold. Your hair isn’t going anywhere with this. #CheriePartner

{Braided Style} Quick Side Braid
{Braided Style} Quick Side Braid
This quick style combines a Dutch braid and a regular 3-strand braid. It shouldn’t take more than 3 minutes start to finish! About my hair: thiiiiick, wavy/curly, long This style was done on day 3 hair. What you’ll need: -hair elastic (or 2 if your hair is thick) -comb -dry shampoo (if your hair is looking oily) or texture spray (if your hair is fine/needs some grit) -hairspray Steps: 1. Part hair in desired spot. I prefer a side part. 2. Comb hair. 3. If you’re working with days old hair, spray your roots and some lengths with dry shampoo. If your hair is freshly washed or fine, spray your lengths with texture spray for a little bit of grit to help your braid stay in place. 4. Take a small section of hair from the side of your part where you want the braid to start. 5. Cross the right strand underneath the middle strand. Do the same with the left. 6. Repeat step 5. 7. Pick up a small section of hair near the right strand and combine. Cross this section underneath the middle. 8. Repeat step 7 with the left strand. 9. Repeat steps 7-8 by adding small sections of hair to each side of the braid until you reach just below your ears. 10. Brush all of the hair from the non-braided side of your head towards the braided side by angling the hair around the back of your head. 11. Divide this section into 3. Let 1 section be a bit smaller than the other 2 because you will add in your braided front section to this. Goal is to have 3 evenly divided sections. 12. Braid the 3 sections together by crossing either the left or the right sections over or under the middle section. This is a regular braid, so it doesn’t matter which way! 13. Secure your braid with an elastic or 2. 14. {optional} Lightly pull on the edges of the braid close to your forehead (“pancaking”) to widen it. 15. Spray with hairspray. This style is super cute with scrunches or ribbons, too! I used: NOT YOUR MOTHER'S - Clean Freak Tapioca Dry Shampoo and VERB - Ghost Hairspray , but you can use whatever you have on hand. If you have fine hair and don’t have texture spray, you can use a bit of dry shampoo instead. Music: Last Summer Musician: @iksonmusic

Trying Aiir’s dry texture mousse!
Trying Aiir’s dry texture mousse!
Y’all...you read that right, DRY TEXTURE MOUSSE!! This is a cross between a dry shampoo and a texture spray and I am obsessed. All you do is rub it together into a cream and apply to your roots and blow dry it! Not only does it: ✨refresh your roots ✨add grip to your hair for styling ✨add volume BUT IT ALSO SMELLS SOOOOO GOOD. I honestly don’t think I’ve smelt a better smelling product. It truly is one of the best products I’ve tested out. I workout every morning at 4am and go straight to school to work with kids all day so I don’t have time for a full wash but I do have time for this! Now it’s your time to try it! I already have curly hair but sometimes, next hair day doesn’t really help with volume, and I love a good curl volume! I usually curl the top layer that is a bit more flat and frizzy. This helps me a lot in the morning before work, doing the top layer is quicker and the results are very similar. The curling tool I’m using is TIGI - Curlipops Tourmaline Ceramic Tapered Styling Iron I love this curling iron! I love the look of it, but specially that it’s super fast to heat up! You won’t be waiting more than 2 min! I super recommend this thickness, it gives a nice and natural look! If you want bigger curls you can get a thicker size tube. The one I’m currently using is the 1’ This look is even better when you have next day hair. My next day hair is the worst! I always get unwanted frizz and doing this will define those stray hairs! You can finish the look with a bit of hairspray to last all day!
