Skincare 101: Double-Cleansing

avatar
Skinsitive
Bar soaps and scrubs have been phased out of popularity, replaced with cleansers that use gentler sulfates than potentially-problematic SLS/SLES and double-cleansing has seen a rise. Grime, layers of sunscreen, heavy makeup... I recommend double-cleansing if you apply more than one layer of sunscreen or wear makeup, it’s helped so much with my own congestion/blackheads! Wash twice with a water-based cleanser if you prefer to be utilitarian, or try a micellar water if you don’t like oil textures. • 𝗙𝗶𝗿𝘀𝘁 𝗖𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗻𝘀𝗲: For me, traditional double-cleansing is the way to go. Oil-based cleansers easily break down stubborn makeup like waterproof mascara and I’m careful to avoid sensitizing essential oils. My top pick for quality to quantity to cost? THE inkey LIST - Oat Cleansing Balm
. $10 for 150mL of a sensitive skin-friendly balm is hard to beat! Another good budget option is The Ordinary - Squalane Cleanser
, $7.90 for 50mL or $19.90 for 150mL. Its thick texture takes a bit more work to emulsify and rinse away, but gets the job done. DRUNK ELEPHANT - Slaai Makeup-Melting Butter Cleanser
is a great balm that I love for its easy emulsification and quick rinse, though it’s a bit more pricy- $34 for 110g. Harder to swallow the cost when you rinse it after just a minute of it on your skin, but it emulsifies so well and rinses clean easily. HOLI FROG - Kissimmee Vitamin F Therapy Balmy Wash
is also kinda pricy, $42 for 74mL. It is hard to emulsify, but leaves my skin as soft as if I had moisturized after rinsing, making it luscious but hard to justify. • 𝗦𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗱 𝗖𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗻𝘀𝗲: For my 2nd Cleanse, I reach for a water-based cleanser with a pH of 4-7 and hydrating humectants. I avoid essential oils and fragrance. My absolute favourite 2nd Cleanse is rPAULA'S CHOICE - RESIST Perfectly Balanced Foaming Cleanser
($19 per 190mL, pH 6.2-7), a silky cream-to-foam that removes any 1st Cleanse residue without stripping skin. Another gentle and effective cleanser is the HOLI FROG - Superior Omega Nutritive Gel Wash
($36 per 150mL, pH 5.5). Both are great for any skin type, esp. drier skin! Oily/combo skin types will enjoy the deep-cleansing, strongly lathering gels of rCeraVe - Foaming Facial Cleanser For Normal To Oily Skin
($11 per 355mL, pH 5.5) and #Drunk Elephant - Beste No. 9 Jelly Cleanser[products]# ($32 per 150mL, pH 5.5). I wouldn’t use them more than once per day since they can leave skin feeling tight if overused. How To Use A Balm Cleanser: 1. Dispense balm onto dry, clean palms. 2. Massage balm onto dry, uncleansed skin, for as long as you like. I wouldn’t go over a minute since you’ll be massaging your skin more in a sec... 3. Wet hands. 4. Emulsify the product on your face using a small amount of water, massaging until it is almost like a lather. 5. Rinse face. 6. Repeat steps 4 + 5 until your face feels clean and soft, with no visible milkiness/lather.

Holifrog where have you been my whole life!
I have been wanting to try Holifrog for forever as it took over my feed this summer. I finally caved and purchased 2 of their cleansers and desperately need to try more! ⠀ Here’s the low down: 🍁 Superior Omega Nutritive Gel Wash: This cleanser is directed towards those who have oily/oily-combination skin or just when your skin need a a deep clean. I don’t have oily skin but i do like to use this cleanser whenever I’m wearing makeup. I wear a lot of makeup maybe 1-2 times a month. When i do I like to go in a deep clean mode because my skin reacts so quickly to a full face of makeup now that it’s not used to it. I loved this cleanser cause it didn’t dry my skin out but still made it feel well cleansed. PH of 5.4 & Retails for $36 HOLI FROG - Superior Omega Nutritive Gel Wash ⠀ 🍁 Kissimmee Vitamin F Therapy Balm: this cleanser is a waterless cleanser that restores and softens your skin. I love using this as a first cleanse to remove my makeup, sunscreen, ect. I find that it doesn’t leave a film on my skin which is one thing that I look for in a first cleanse. Definitely going to be repurchasing. Retails for $42 HOLI FROG - Kissimmee Vitamin F Therapy Balmy Wash ⠀ ⠀ Have you tried @holifrog cleansers?! If so which is your favorite? ⠀ I definitely want to try their tashmoo water lily nourishing milky wash as I have normal-combination skin so that would be better for me to use as an everyday cleanser. ⠀

Some of my most used products!
These are all the products I use regularly, and I’ll just review a few quickly for you guys! Also peep me in the corner realizing at the last second that I was in the shot lol 😅⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ ☁️ SATURDAY SKIN - Pore Clarifying Toner 10% Glycolic Acid + Pore Control Complex recently my skin has been breaking out way more than usual, so I decided to add this baby to my routine to help get rid of my breakouts! I use it 2-3x a week and it might just be a coincidence but already I can tell an improvement in my skin and this is the only product I added to my routine! ⁣⁣ ⁣ ☁️ HOLI FROG - Kissimmee Vitamin F Therapy Balmy Wash the smell is not my favorite on this one (it smells earthy and natural) but other than that I love this cleanser! It always leaves my skin feeling super soft, and who doesn’t love a balm in a tube! ⁣ ⁣ ☁️ BYROE - Bitter Green Essence Toner I have been using this one day and night since I got it months ago and I still love it (it also is lasting me super long)! It’s the first step of my routine and it hydrates my skin while helping the other products soak in better! It’s also my first time using an essence and I think it has really helped my skin!⁣ ⁣ That’s all I’ll review for today because honestly I feel like I’ve talked about the other products here so much in my posts! But if you have any questions about any of these feel free to dm me! Hope everyone has a great Monday! ⁣ ⁣⁣

FULL Gentle Hydrating Skincare Routine
This has kind of been the theme of my entire Cherie page since its creation, but I’ve been needing to really hydrate my skin more since the weather’s become colder. Having rosacea means I always need to do extra research on the products I try. So after some experimenting, trying a LOT of new products, and deciding to stick to some old favorites, this is the routine I’ve come up with for myself: AM Routine Cleanser - Inkey Oat Cleansing Balm: A recent switch for the winter. Leaves my skin feeling nourished and hydrated, but doesn’t tackle my acne very effectively. Might switch back to my old cleanser (Cosrx Good Morning Gel) and just use this when my skin is feeling tight/for double cleansing. Toner - FAB Wild Oat Ultra Hydrating Toner: Another recent switch. This toner is so hydrating that I don’t need to use hydrating masks or overnight creams as frequently as I used to and it’s very calming. Serum - Peach & Lily’s Glass Skin Refining Serum: This is definitely worth the hype. My skin has been noticeably smooth since using it. Spot Treatment - TULA Go Away Acne: Uses benzoyl peroxide to work on acne which can interfere with rosacea, so I don’t use this on my cheeks but it works well in other areas. Not a repurchase for me. Eye Cream - Cetaphil Deep Hydration Refreshing Eye Serum: I said recently that eye cream doesn’t work for me, but I’m starting to get wrinkles under my eyes and thought it was important to kick up the hydration and attention. This one is quite gentle and pretty affordable. Moisturizer - CeraVe Facial Moisturizing Lotion: Undefeated! If I need some extra hydration I’ll add a couple drops of Leo Oil and mix on my hand using my ring finger. Sunscreen - EltaMD SPF 46 on days with no makeup or ILIA Serum Skin Tint: Both are mineral sunscreens and unscented with protection in the 40s. PM Routine Cleanser - The Inkey List Oat Cleansing Balm: ...and I’ll double cleanse with my old Cosrx Good Morning Gel if I wore makeup that day. Toner - FAB Wild Oat Ultra Hydrating Toner Serum - Paula’s Choice CALM 1% BHA Lotion Exfoliant or 10% Azelaic Acid Booster: I like to alternate between these two serums. The BHA (salicylic acid) targets pores and redness. The Azelaic Acid Boost contains salicylic acid too, but is more effective at targeting rosacea specifically. Eye Cream - Veriphy 20/20 Eye Cream: Received this as a gift and I actually really like it! Contains ingredients like peptides, niacinamide, and cucumber extract. But it’s wildly expensive and I won’t be able to repurchase. Moisturizer - CeraVe Facial Moisturizing Lotion + Astrologiens Leo Oil: At night I always combine these two if I’m not using my Naturium Sleeping Cream (2 pumps + 2 drops). I have individual reviews on a number of these products, so if you’re interested in learning more about something feel free to check those posts out or just ask a question here :) Most of these products are generally rosacea and sensitive skin safe. I have type 1 rosacea for reference.

Skincare 101: the Basics
Three products are all you really need to care for your skin. Well, maybe not *you* specifically, but let’s be frank: most people don’t *need* a twelve-step routine to take care of their skin. If you’re starting off in skincare, your financial situation has changed, or your skin has been flaring with redness/flaking/breakouts, opt for a super simple routine for a month or two to see how your skin does without the extra frills. It may surprise you how little you need to keep your skin happy! • 𝗖𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗻𝘀𝗲𝗿: Cleanse with water in the morning, or opt for a hydrating cleanser if you’re oily, workout, or just enjoy cleansing often. Double-cleanse with that hydrating cleanser (and/or an oil-based balm) in the evening, or opt for a single cleanse with a gel or foaming cleanser. My milky faves are CeraVe - Hydrating Facial Cleanser and HOLI FROG - Tashmoo Water Lily Nourishing Milky Wash , while my deep-cleansing faves are CeraVe - Hydrating Cream-To-Foam Cleanser and PAULA'S CHOICE - RESIST Perfectly Balanced Foaming Cleanser . • 𝗠𝗼𝗶𝘀𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗶𝘇𝗲𝗿: Moisturize morning and night, regardless of your skin type! Look for products with ceramides and fatty acids to nourish the skin barrier. If your skin is more oily, opt for lightweight moisturizers like gels and lotions. If your skin is dry, creams and balms are going to be better for binding hydration and moisture to your skin. My faves for oily skin? CeraVe - PM Facial Moisturizing Lotion , VERSED - DEW POINT Moisturizing Gel-Cream , and PAULA'S CHOICE - Probiotic Nutrient Moisturizer . My dry skin faves are NATURIUM - Plant Ceramide Rich Moisture Cream , THE inkey LIST - Peptide Moisturizer , and DRUNK ELEPHANT - Lala Retro Whipped Cream . • 𝗦𝘂𝗻𝘀𝗰𝗿𝗲𝗲𝗻: The most important step! Sunscreen is the ultimate anti-aging product, so reapply every two hours y’all. My main loves for all skin types are PAULA'S CHOICE - Youth-extending Daily Hydrating Fluid SPF 50 and elta md SKINCARE - UV Clear Broad Spectrum SPF 46 . Those with dry skin, I’ve been enjoying CeraVe - Face Sheer Tint Hydrating Sunscreen SPF 30 , though paler folks may prefer DRUNK ELEPHANT - Umbra Sheer Physical Daily Defense Broad Spectrum Sunscreen SPF 30 . What’s your fave step? What extra step would you add in that’s not featured here? 👀 Keep up with the tag #Skincare101 to follow along this guide I’ll be posting to cover some basic concepts in skincare!

Skin update 🥺
This update isn’t a positive one Nor negative just showing something I’m going through at the moment ,it looks like cystic acne And the reason I feel like I’ve gotten it is because last week I was extremely busy and simply did not change my pilot cases even though regularly changing my sheets My left cheek was much worse yesterday but as soon as I noticed what was going on I started on the solution so hoping to update my skin next week with a full transformation Cleanser - GOOD MOLECULES - Clarify & Cleanse Bar Double cleanse- PAULA'S CHOICE - RESIST Perfectly Balanced Foaming Cleanser Serum- (only when my skin is dry or dull) PEACH & LILY - Glass Skin Refining Serum Moisturizer- BIOSSANCE - Squalane + Probiotic Gel Moisturizer

drunk elephant review with fungal acne🐘💗
as someone with fungal acne, buying the same products can be reaaallyyy boring. so this is my review of drunk elephant as someone with fungal acne!! * disclaimer, NONE of these products are fungal acne safe!! use at your own risk * DRUNK ELEPHANT - Slaai Makeup-Melting Butter Cleanser this cleansing balm doesn’t really emulsify when you activate it with water, leaving a really oily feeling😕 and doesn’t remove all my makeup DRUNK ELEPHANT - Beste No. 9 Jelly Cleanser Deluxe Sample this is a really nice gentle foaming cleanser... and thats pretty much it. DRUNK ELEPHANT - B-Hydra Intensive Hydration Serum i love this serum! its a lovely gel serum that absorbs in quickly and is greak at oil control DRUNK ELEPHANT - C-Firma Vitamin C Day Serum this serum is a little tricky, i haven’t really noticed a difference in my skin in terms if brightness, i do have a bit of dark spots and they haven’t budged. not to mention this formulation is a rip off of the SKINCEUTICALS - C E Ferulic With 15% L-Ascorbic Acid Vitamin C Serum DRUNK ELEPHANT - Lala Retro Whipped Cream this is a thicc moisturizer that surprisingly doesn’t leave my oily skin looking greasy af. its a good moisturizer for dry combo skin! DRUNK ELEPHANT - Protini Polypeptide Cream this moisturizer feels exactly like the lala retro... its just 8 dollars more expensive DRUNK ELEPHANT - T.L.C. Sukari Babyfacial Mask this mask burns so bad the first 20 seconds but then it settles down. i really havent seen a difference in my skin so DRUNK ELEPHANT - Virgin Marula Luxury Facial Oil ive only used this oil a few times but wow it really makes your skin feel super soft and dewy DRUNK ELEPHANT - Lippe Balm DRUNK ELEPHANT - Lippe Balm i love this lip balm but its 16 dollars and the claim are completely false! in conclusion, i wont be repurchasing anymore of drunk elephant products because in reality they are just good products... nothing too special ESPECIALLY for the price. they aslo didn’t want to provide information about the percentage of black employees during the Pull Up Or Shut Up movement so yeah. their aesthetic is cute but ive grown out of this phase 😀 like and save!! xo melanie

If you’re like me and love a good cleansing balm then keep reading to find out how these three stack up against one another! 👇 (And yes, that’s another Game of Thrones reference. 💁🏻‍♀️) ⠀ 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐬 🌿 FARMACY - Green Clean Makeup Meltaway Cleansing Balm 🧡 GLOW RECIPE - Papaya Sorbet Smoothing Enzyme Cleansing Balm 💚 DRUNK ELEPHANT - Slaai Makeup-Melting Butter Cleanser ⠀ 𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐬 🌿 𝟹.𝟺𝚘𝚣 / $𝟹𝟺 𝚄𝚂𝙳 🧡 𝟹.𝟺𝚘𝚣 / $𝟹𝟸 𝚄𝚂𝙳 💚 𝟹.𝟾𝟾𝚘𝚣 / $𝟹𝟺 𝚄𝚂𝙳 ⠀ 𝐓𝐞𝐱𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞 🌿 Waxy at first, quickly breaks down to a slippery smooth balm 🧡 Sorbet really is the perfect term; smooth and creamy yet light 💚 Again with the terminology, butter cleanser is 100% accurate; thick buttery smoothness ⠀ 𝐒𝐜𝐞𝐧𝐭 🌿 Very fresh, clean, citrusy 🧡 Sweet papaya deliciousness 💚 None, although it has this (not in a bad way) distinctive plastic-y smell to it that I’ve become obsessed with (weird, right? 🤣) ⠀ 𝐔𝐬𝐞 🌿 Apply to dry skin, massage to cleanse, splash with water or wipe off with a damp washcloth to remove 🧡 Apply to dry skin, massage to cleanse, add water to emulsify and continue to massage, thoroughly splash with lukewarm water to rinse 💚 Apply to dry skin, massage to cleanse, add water to activate, rinse well with water or a soft, damp cloth ⠀ 𝐑𝐞𝐬𝐮𝐥𝐭𝐬 🌿 Green Clean is very effective at cleansing and quickly breaking down makeup. It immediately begins to emulsify when water is applied to the face and rinses easily and completely 🧡 Papaya Sorbet is a lovely cleansing experience. It feels amazing on the skin, breaks down makeup fairly easily, and cleans well. It does require extra work to fully emulsify and rinse. A washcloth works best and fastest 💚 Slaai is also a wonderful balm experience; it breaks down makeup, dirt, and sunscreen with ease. It both emulsifies and rinses quickly and with no residue ⠀ 𝐅𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐓𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐠𝐡𝐭𝐬 💭 All three of these options are wonderful balms. I have to give Slaai and Green Clean a slight edge due to the ease of rinsing. I love all 3 and will repurchase all of them again. Do you love cleansing balms? Which is your favorite? Share with me in the comments!

Ulta Beauty Haul!
So I live about 15 miles away from an Ulta but prefer to order online because I find their online service and selection more palatable. I had the best time ordering The Ordinary products and I am so excited to share them with you soon and to start using them. I only purchased one makeup item, their foundation, and the rest of the items were from the skin care line. Stay tuned for more in the near future as I've had some empties from my Revolution products and will need to start using The Ordinary products soon! Sooo excited 🤗

Always SOLD OUT on Sephora!
Did you know squalene is a natural substance produced by the sebaceous glands that makes up 10 to 12% of your skin’s oil? Squalane is the hydrogenated version of Squalene. PRODUCT: This cleanser is a squalane based face cleanser and makeup remover that is meant to be gentle and moisturizing. The formula not only incorporates squalane, but other lipophilic esters as well. The texture of this product turns from a balm to an oil when you rub your hands together before applying. The formula is soap-free and is meant to be gentle for everyday use. ✨Squalane: reduces the appearance of fine lines, moisturizers and softens skin due to its antioxidant properties, it’s non-comedogenic, it controls oil, and many more. MY THOUGHTS: After hearing such great things about this cleanser I decided to give it a try! I’ve been using it for a couple of months but I’m still deciding if I like it or it’s just mehhh. I love the fact that it’s so gentle, lightweight, and hasn’t caused any irritation or breakouts. But I don’t like that the formula is hard to rinse off, it feels like a layer of product stays on my skin. I also don’t feel like this cleanser is strong enough to remove makeup thoroughly, so I usually double rinse with this cleanser. I will be repurchasing this cleanser because of the affordable price and the gentleness of the product. SIDE NOTE: 🌱🐰This product is vegan, cruelty-free, and gluten-free

This is ridiculous.
First two pics are from today, last two pics are from last month. My routine right now is so minimal because I had a bad reaction to HOLI FROG - Superior Omega Nutritive Gel Wash back in July so I legit haven't used skincare since then except water in AM/micellar water (wash it off with water) when I have makeup on. I have NEVER experienced anything like this before, I have comedones now and just random pimples EVERYWHERE on my cheeks I look fucking disgusting. The problem is I don't know what to use on my face because I'm sensitive to so much, including niacinamide, a lot of botanicals, coconut derived products and I'm worried to put any other oils on my face. I feel like a cleanser would help me get on the right track again but I have no idea what to use because I dont need anymore of this ugliness on my face.

If you haven’t found the right cleanser yet....
If you haven’t found the right cleanser yet....
And you have combination or oily skin, you should try these listed below 🤗 I have oily sensitive skin w a damaged skin barrier ( it’s wayyy better now that I’m educated on what should go on my face) I’ll let you know how my skin reacted to each of them. Krave - Matcha Hemp Hydrating Cleanser I really wanted this to be my go to but it wasn’t meant to be:( Pros: -Very soothing -Doesn’t dry out skin -Minimal to no fragrance Cons: -Not fungal acne safe I thought this would be ok since it is a wash off product but after using it for about 2 months I noticed that my skin wasn’t getting any better, the tiny bumps on my face just seemed to stay put. -Contains sweet almond oil So this is where it gets confusing? So I read that sweet almond oil is considered fragrance but this product doesn’t actually have much of a smell. It is faint but it seemed like my super sensitized skin became reactive to it after awhile. It may work for you tho, ig my skin just wasn’t in the best place when I began using it. If I try again I’ll der give an update on anyone who’s interested. The Ordinary - Squalane Cleanser Pros: -Fragrance free -Doesn’t irritate skin -Affordable Cons: -Not fungal acne safe, but it didn’t really cause me any breakouts?? Really weird -If you don’t have a double cleanser, I would not recommend this. It doesn’t really take off makeup or sunscreen by itself. (Even though it claims to remove makeup) YOUTH TO THE PEOPLE - Superfood Antioxidant Cleanser I think I found the one 🥰 Pros: -Actually cleans my skin without stripping it -My skin is clearing up!! I noticed an instant change when I stopped using the krave cleanser and picked up this. -Doesn’t irritate my skin -Has amazing ingredients -Fungal acne safe Cons: -Fragrance, but very light and at the bottom of the ingredient list :) - it is a bit pricey, but it’s def worth a try. I have the 8 FL oz and it costs $36 on the Sephora website.

Routine for Combo to Oily Skin
Routine for Combo to Oily Skin
This is for the user@jlynn! Just remember these products might not work for you because everyone has different skin! I might give you two options for a skincare step/product. It takes 8-12 weeks to see the full results of this routine. This the order you should apply it in. Ask any questions in the comments! Morning Routine: CeraVe - SA Smoothing Cleanser- this is a salicylic cleanser that will help with acne! The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% OR PAULA'S CHOICE - 10% Niacinamide Booster- this reduces oils and helps with acne, blackheads, pores, dullness, etc. put 1-4 drops on your fingers and pat/rub in. patch test before use. both of these products do the same thing but some people are sensitive to the zinc in The Ordinary serum so I just wanted to give two options! i personally use The Ordinary Niacinamide because it works for me. CeraVe - Ultra-Light Moisturizing Lotion SPF 30 For Normal To Oily Skin OR YOUTH TO THE PEOPLE - Superfood Air-Whip Moisture Cream- the CeraVe Cream is inexpensive and has spf in it so you don’t have to buy sunscreen separately. also has niacinamide and zinc in it which helps with acne. this version is extra light but they do have the same thing except slightly thicker. the only thing is that it isn’t vegan or cruelty-free (all the other products are). then the Superfood Air-Whip Cream. this is formulated specifically for combo to oily skin! it hydrates but isn’t super thick. it is also formulated with hyaluronic acid which is a great ingredient that hydrates without making your skin oily. Supergoop! - Unseen Sunscreen Broad Spectrum SPF 40- this is if you choose a moisturizer that doesn’t already have spf in it!! this sunscreen is lightweight and won’t leave you feeling greasy. Night Time Routine: YOUTH TO THE PEOPLE - Superfood Antioxidant Cleanser- this goes deep into your pores so it is great for acne! i absolutely love it PAULA'S CHOICE - Skin Perfecting 2% BHA Liquid Exfoliator- great for acne, blackheads, and pores. patch test before use. YOUTH TO THE PEOPLE - Superfood Air-Whip Moisture Cream OR CeraVe - PM Facial Moisturizing Lotion- same two options as before except the CeraVe one does not have SPF in it now and isn’t as lightweight. Other: The Ordinary - Glycolic Acid 7% Toning Solution- this is great for oily skin, acne, blackheads, texture, etc. you can use this every night but since it is very strong I would recommend only using about 2-3 times a week. when you use it, use it at night and not in the morning! use it after cleansing but before serums. patch test before use Krave - Great Barrier Relief- use this whenever your skin is feeling irritated or is red! it will give you relief and restore your barriers. you can use this as a light moisturizer or you can apply it like a serum with moisturizer on top. Note: If you use this routine for three months or so and literally nothing changes then I recommend just washing your face once a day with the SuperFood Cleanser and then after using the Krave Great Barrier Relief and a light moisturizer and that’s it. Because sometimes your face just needs a bit of a break and you need to restore your barriers. But that’s if it’s been months and nothing seems to work! I hope this routine will work for you and you will end up liking some of these products!

My Skin: Oily About the Product: Gentle cleanser that doesn’t mess with your skin barrier. It has a pH between 4.0-6.0, which is ideal for the skin. It is formulated with matcha and hemp seeds to give the skin an antioxidant boost and essential fatty acids. Texture/Consistency/Packaging: Gel texture with a green tint, like matcha! 🍵 Glides nicely over the skin and foams up with water. My Experience/Thoughts: This is my go-to cleanser now. It’s so gentle on the skin, but does a great job of actually cleansing and prepping this skin for the rest of your skincare routine. Do I Like It? I love it! It’s my go-to cleanser right now. I use it every day! Worth It/Would I Recommend? Definitely recommend it. At $18, it’s not a bad price for almost 5 fl oz. Krave - Matcha Hemp Hydrating Cleanser

HELP: STARTING A NEW ROUTINE?! 🤪
HELP: STARTING A NEW ROUTINE?! 🤪
Hey all!! I’m newer to the skin scare space and looking for AM/PM routine suggestions. My skin is normal/combo and recently I’ve been having frequent dehydration which may be due to extra exercise in my daily routine. I’m looking for products to keep my skin CLEAN, HYDRATED, PROTECTED, PLUMP and GLOWY. I do have acne scars on my forehead, sides of my face, and chin. My most acne prone area is around my chin and it has been like this for the past few months- breakouts in that area every other day. I’ve been looking into the following products to help my skin: Cleanser: CeraVe - Hydrating Facial Cleanser Possible along with the CeraVe - Renewing SA Cleanser For Normal Skinfor my acne problem area hydration: PAULA'S CHOICE - Hyaluronic Acid Booster Or The Ordinary - Marine Hyaluronics Or DRUNK ELEPHANT - B-Hydra Intensive Hydration Serum For hydration Evening skin tone: PAULA'S CHOICE - 10% Niacinamide Boosterfor evening skin tone For additional serums/essences to make the skin appear more glowy/youthful I was thinking of trying: Krave - Great Barrier Relief Or TATCHA - Luminous Deep Hydration Firming Serum Exfoliation: PAULA'S CHOICE - Skin Perfecting 2% BHA Liquid Exfoliator Moisturizer: Open to suggestions. Heard good things about CeraVe and Youth to the People The products I’m using now are Okay but I would like to step it up and have clear glowy skin without needing to use makeup :) I appreciate any suggestions/tips from more experienced skin care lovers 💖💖

A cleanser like no other!
A cleanser like no other!
Krave - Matcha Hemp Hydrating Cleanser this cleanser by krave beauty is marketed as an antioxidant cleanser made to fully cleanse but also protect your skin barrier! It is marketed for all skin types but based on how gentle it is I would say this is great for sensitive skin! The texture is super soft and nice it has a slight foaming feature but not too much, it’s super gentle and does not feel stripping at all!! The key ingredients: Matcha: packed full of antioxidants it is perfect for your skin!! Hemp seed oil: this oil is high in amino acids, and has a natural antibacterial property that helps to relive inflamed skin A group of mild and gentle cleansing agents that don’t strip the skin Vitamin B5 and sodium PCA: two skin barrier strengthening ingredients! My thoughts: I absolutely adore this product, even my boyfriend loves it! I have had it for about three month and use it almost on a daily basis, u less I’m feeling in need of a tougher cleanse. It does not leave my skin feeling stripped AT all and I definitely feel like it gets the job done. I decided to try it because I absolutely adore this brand, and wanted a super gentle cleanser so I immediately got this one. I would for sure recommend this product, for 16 dollars and for how big it is, to me this is a no brainer! The brand is clean, recyclable, and cruelty free! What else could you need in a brand! This product definitely earns a 5/5 from me!

cleansers for sensitive & reactive skin
cleansers for sensitive & reactive skin
✨Cream cleansers for sensitive and reactive skin✨ I love gentle, hydrating cleansers and I can’t live without them! Whenever my skin is feeling reactive or overly sensitized, I immediately switch to one of these cleansers since they won’t strip or cause irritations to my skin. These are my top recommendations that will work for most skin types. ▶️ LA ROCHE-POSAY - Toleriane Hydrating Gentle Face Cleanser - pretty basic straightforward hydrating and lightweight milky cream cleanser that contains ceramide-3, niacinamide, glycerin, and LRP’s thermal water to give your skin a clean slate without disrupting your moisture barrier. It’s one of my favorites that’s affordable since it’s only 15$ for 13.5 oz and it’s easily accessible at most drugstores. ▶️PAULA'S CHOICE - Optimal Results Hydrating Cleanser - a newly discovered silky and lush cleansing cream that soothes and replenishes my skin post cleanse. This has quite a thick texture but it adheres well to my skin as I massage it around. It quickly melts away any oil, dirt, and sunscreen from my day while leaving my skin feeling so soft and supple afterwards. It’s fairly priced at 19$ for 6.4oz but I wish they still sold the jumbo size which was a better deal at 26$ for 11.3 oz. ▶️ stratia - Velvet Cleansing Milk - my most favorite out of all of these. This is slightly more lightweight than the PC one with its rich, emollient, and velvety cream texture. It contains olive oil esters, rice bran oil, glycerin, allantoin, chamomile, and aloe to provide the skin with a thorough yet soothing cleanse without causing any damage to the skin barrier. This one is the most expensive out of the bunch at 28$ for 8oz but it’s well worth it for how it makes my skin feel during and post cleanse. ▶️ The Ordinary - Squalane Cleanser - another great gentle cleanser that uses squalane and lipophilic esters to dissolve away makeup and facial impurities. This has a really thick creamy texture that takes a bit of effort to massage into the skin but it melts away almost everything. The only problem I had with this one was that I ended up having to use a lot of product. It’s not the cheapest but still decently affordable at 19.90$ for 5oz.
