Pre-Gym Morning Skincare: Anti-Redness Routine!
Before I go to the gym, I try to keep it as simple as possible! But some mornings, I need to deviate from the moisturizer+sunscreen formula to add in some extra soothing ingredients for my sensitive combination skin. My skin is acne prone, so I layer lightweight serums to get the job done: • NIOD - Modulating Glucosides

Dry Weather Serum: CBD + Cica + Oils
With autumn in full-swing and winter ahead of us northern hemisphere folks, dry weather is sure to come for many. Heaven-sent for those with oily skin, but those of us with combo, normal, or dry skin may be dreading the change of humidity and the accompanying change in skin calmness/water content. My sensitive, combo skin gets dry and red in the winter, so I’ve been loading up on soothing and hydrating serums, including one I enjoyed in early spring- PAULA'S CHOICE - CBD Skin Transformative Treatment Milk The CBD Milk from PC is a silky, surprisingly thin serum that spreads easily and soaks in quickly to nourish skin with a variety of humectants and emollients while CBD (100mg), centella asiatica extract, phospholipids, vitamin E, and a variety of non-fragrant plant oils soothe and calm skin. I love this serum for how easily it calms any redness in my skin and makes my skin *feel* less irritated, perfect for lightweight moisture and soothing power in the autumn and winter. $49 for 30mL is steep, but with how easily triggered my eczema is when my skin is dry, it’s a good investment that keeps my skin chill! #CheriePartner

Combo/Oily Morning Routine and Flash Review
Hi, everyone! I hope your weekend was well :) After doing a quick water cleanse, I went in with hyper - Hyper Clear Brightening Clearing Vitamin C Serum which my skin has been loving! I haven’t had any irritation or breakout, plus I think this helps keep congestion at bay with the added kojic acid and enzymes. It’s super light and anyone with oilier skin will love! EDIBLE BEAUTY - Turmeric Beauty Latte Serum Clear and Brighten this is a new find that I just started using, so haven’t quite formed an opinion yet. It’s supposed to act as a non-active clarifying serum, which is exactly something I need, especially during the day. It’s has a light, watery texture, def smells a bit like turmeric, but so far it’s great! NIOD - Modulating Glucosides this is my new love! After going through a bout of sensitive and red skin once the weather started changing, once I included this into my routine (mostly apply to my cheeks and forehead), I’ve noticed my skin is significant calmer. It’s also great as a light moisturizer for oily skin in the morning! KEEP COOL - Soothe Bamboo Sun Essence SPF50+ another new LOVE! Might be my holy grail sunscreen, seriously. The only way to describe it is if Purito Comfy Water and Purito Centella had a baby, meaning it should work beautifully for both drier and oilier skin types. It leaves a satin finish, no greasiness throughout the day and is super pleasant to reapply!
The Ordinary and NIOD: Worth the hype?🤔
We all concern one problem when choosing skincare or cosmetic products: is this famous product really worthy to buy? Sometimes there are many advertising invested from beauty company so that we can see their products on TV, or newspaper or even YouTube. But for brands like The Ordinary and Neutrogena, we still know there are a lot of ‘soft’ ads on the Internet. Are they really worthy to buy? The Ordinary - Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5 This is definitely the most famous product it has created. Now every brand has its own hyaluronic acid serum and this is one of the cheapest and works for so many people. It contains hyaluronic acid to make skin smooth and supple and Vitamin B5 to boost skin renewal and healing. For a water-based serum, this one is light and thick and doesn’t have a strange smell at all. I have tried this for a week and, to be honest, I abandoned it right after this torturing week. My face says no to it; it feels nice on hand but not on the face. It dries quickly on my face and my T-zone becomes more oily than ever. This is not my cup of tea and I have to say that it is really cheap without any fancy promotion, ask for a sample before purchasing it. NIOD - Modulating Glucosides I went online and bought this emulsion from NIOD’s core regimen series. NIOD and The Ordinary are from the same company and this one is definitely more pricy than most products from The Ordinary. This is an emulsion that can soothe sensitive and flakier skin caused by retinol and calm down the skin with redness. It is said that it can boost the production of collagen and new blood vessels to make skin look younger and more even. It went viral for a while online and I have to say that it needs to be famous that much. My face is no itchier after using retinol and my acne scars got lighter. It was on discount when I bought it and 20 dollars is way too good for this amazing product. Really recommend this one. 👍

Holiday Skincare Fixes
Whether it’s breakouts spawned by vigorous Halloween post-makeup scrubbing or pre-holiday multi-exfoliation, things like redness/breakouts are often caused by over-aggressive use of products. Here’s how I keep my skin happy during the holidays: • If you’re wearing makeup, instead of scrubbing excessively with scrubs or makeup wipes, go for double-cleansing! Use an oil-based cleanser (I love the emollient and softening THE inkey LIST - Oat Cleansing Balm ), followed by a water-based cleanser to remove any residual cleanser/makeup. Or if you’re a bit thrifty, try using a gentle cleanser like CeraVe - Hydrating Facial Cleanser twice! It is a silky, no-lather cleanse that contains gentle surfactants, hydrating humectants, and skin-nourishing ceramides to avoid stripping skin, making it perfect for double-duty use. Any gentle cleanser will work, but I reach for a bottle of CeraVe’s cult classics when my skin is upset. • Breaking out from heavy makeup, holiday stress, and/or less-than-stellar skin care? Opt for a simple routine to give your skin barrier time to recuperate: use a gentle cleanser and simple moisturizer, finishing with sunscreen in the AM and oil in the PM. I love NATURIUM - Plant Ceramide Rich Moisture Cream nourishes skin with ceramides and emollients, sans actives, though CeraVe - PM Facial Moisturizing Lotion is a more lightweight yet still nourishing option for oilier skin. I’m sensitive to zinc, so I opt for chemical sunscreens when my skin is irritated, PAULA'S CHOICE - Youth-extending Daily Hydrating Fluid SPF 50 being a hydrating and extremely lightweight option packed with antioxidants. elta md SKINCARE - UV Clear Broad Spectrum SPF 46 and PURITO - Comfy Water Sun Block are great mineral options, though the fluffier Purito does have a tendency to pill over silicones but is cheaper than the silky EltaMD formulation. Sunscreen is ESSENTIAL for skin health- without it, acne will leave more dark spots and sensitivity will be increased! Using PM Oil is targeted mainly at dry and sensitive skin, though my favourite oily skin oil is The Ordinary - 100% Plant-Derived Squalane . It’s already found in skin, soaks in quickly, and leaves little shine by the AM. Dry skin has a variety of options, but I love fatty acid-packed marula oil when my skin is very dry. DRUNK ELEPHANT - Virgin Marula Luxury Facial Oil soaks in near-instantly and has my skin soft and satin when I wake up. For sensitive and dry nights, I always reach for The Ordinary - 100% Organic Virgin Sea-Buckthorn Fruit Oil , it’s hands-down my favourite oil. It does stain pillows and leaves skin orange for a couple hours, but by morning my blemishes are healing and my skin is significantly calmer, more plump, and silky! #CheriePartner
Best Sunscreens Under Makeup!
Just because the weather is changing doesn’t mean we can slack off when it comes SPF the health of our skin! I used to neglect wearing SPF because I felt like it ruined my makeup, but thankfully I have found some really great options that wear really nicely under my foundation and tinted moisturizers. I have pretty normal/combination skin so I have quite a few formulas that I enjoy depending on how my skin is behaving. During the warmer months, when my skin is more on the oily side, I typically each for a mattifying SPF. One of my faves is the #Rodan + Fields - Invisible Matte Defense Broad Spectrum SPF 30[products]#[FiveStars] It feels smooth and silky when applied, and it’s also clear which I love! It also helps keep my oils in check! Another summertime favorite is the BARE REPUBLIC - Face Mineral Sunscreen Lotion SPF 30 First of all, I love Bare Republic’s sunscreens because they are reef friendly and contain no chemical sunscreen actives. I also love that it dries down to a powder finish, and doesn’t leave my skin feeling greasy. I use this sunscreen basically year round because it works when my skin is either dry or oily. Another year round fave is the PAULA'S CHOICE - Youth-extending Daily Hydrating Fluid SPF 50 I tend to reach for it pretty frequently because of its anti-aging benefits and also because of how lightweight it is! It absorbs into my skin super quickly also which is important when I’m in a hurry and don’t have much time to get ready in the morning. When my skin is on the dry side, I love using the VOLITION - Prismatic Luminizing Shield SPF 50 Not only does it protect my skin from harmful UV rays, but it also gives my complexion the prettiest glow. I love wearing it on makeup free days because of the radiance it adds to my complexion, but it also wears beautifully under makeup. It’s also really lightweight and breathable. Another great and super lightweight formula is the MyChelle dermaceuticals - Sun Shield Liquid SPF 50 I love that it evens out my complexion and adds a little bit of glow while still being a matte formula. It’s also blends into the skin really nicely! I’m a huge fan of Mychelle Beauty’s skincare products! Two of my newer SPF products that I have really been enjoying are the dermalogica - Dynamic Skin Recovery SPF50 Moisturizer and the JANMARINI - Antioxidant Physical Protectant SPF30 The Jan Marini sunscreen is water resistant so I love wearing it when I’m doing anything outdoors because I know I’m not going to sweat it off. It keeps my oils in check and has the added benefits of additional antioxidant protection. The Dermalogica Dynamic Skin Recovery is also a great option because not only is it an SPF, but it’s also a really nice lightweight moisturizer. It absorbs pretty quickly and doesn’t leave any type of residue on my skin either. #cheriecreator
Products I Use Instead of Drunk Elephant
Yes I’m a fan of DE products but at the end of the day, their prices are SO high and it’s unnecessary to have a good skincare routine. Over time, I’ve found myself preferring other brands for specific items and they also happen to be cheaper. I wouldn’t call these exactly dupes, but they’re not the furthest from it. 🐘 Lala Retro Sure. This moisturizer is nice and heavy and the new formula now has Ceramides in it. It also has 6 rare African oils too. But it’s also $60 for 1.69 oz and for something I need to use nightly, that’s just not an ideal price point for what you’re getting. 💙Alternate: Healing Ointment by CeraVe Yes. You read that correctly. I was skeptical at first but after seeing glowing recommendations and noting that it has Hyaluronic Acid and Ceramides, I gave it a try. For $12 for 5oz this is HIGHLY affordable and honestly, it rocked my life. This product is highly hydrating, doesn’t break me out at all, and even seems to be a great partner for my drying retinol. My skin looks better than before and I give this little drugstore find serious credit for that. The product is still on after a full night’s rest too and has helped me with dry spots on my body as well. Seriously try this! 🐘2. TLC Framboos At $134 for 1.69 oz, I look back on this purchase and genuinely feel like I let myself be robbed. Sure, this product is packed with lots of acids that are great for resurfacing the skin including AHA, BHA, lactic acid, etc. but honestly, my results were never to die for and that price tag is insane. 💛Alternate: Honeymoon Glow by Farmacy At $58 for 1oz, this is still fairly pricey but this brand unlike DE does regular sales and puts this in kits where you can save money too. This is a gorgeous resurfacing night serum with AHA, gentle flower acids and honey. It does also give me a glow in the morning! I’ve seen better and more immediate results from this product and would grab this before TLC Framboos any day. This also seems to work for my breakouts more. 🐘Umbra Tinte This just isn’t it for me. At $36 for 2 oz and SPF 30, I’m just not in love with this product compared to a few cheaper finds. If you’re going to go for tinted sunscreen Supergoop has several alternatives like Matte Screen. 💚Alternate: Centella Green Level Unscented Screen At $16 for 2oz and SPF 50, this is my favorite by far! It doesn’t leave skin feeling sticky at all, there’s no white cast and it is calming for the skin. This is also reef-safe. Like I said, this isn’t necessarily a dupe for the DE product but this is a way better sunscreen in my opinion and is almost half of the price. This is almost like a moisturizer and makes my skin feel so smooth. It also doesn’t feel gross reapplying this throughout the day. I love it! Worth trying new affordable k beauty products
If anything such as #igiftedmyself category exists then this should fit in the same. one of the K beauty brands that I most often see but wasn’t able to put my hands on. I know this sunscreen is most of your favorite I hope it turns out to be my favorite too as it has all the great qualities of a good one. Featured in the picture today is P𝐮𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐨 P𝐮𝐫𝐞 V𝐢𝐭𝐚𝐦𝐢𝐧 C 𝐬𝐞𝐫𝐮𝐦 The packaging looks Simply gorgeous but there is a reason behind keeping this dark and that is reduce the oxidation process & protect the contents from direct sunlight. Consisting of Vitamin C 5% hyaluronic acid 89% along with niacinamide and red ginseng, the serum claims to relieve acne scars, dark circles, and freckles, with whitening functionality and prevent skin aging. C𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐚 𝐠𝐫𝐞𝐞𝐧 𝐥𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐥 U𝐧𝐬𝐜𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐝 S𝐮𝐧 Just tested on hand & I’m almost impressed by the transparency of this sunblock, spreads over in a thin layer and settles down quick SPF50+ PA++++ and photostable UV filter to provide soft yet powerful protection from UV rays. I’m really happy to try these, Looking forward to try more from Purito! 🌱

K-beauty to the next level!!
Krave - Great Barrier Relief marketed as a skin soothing serum that is meant to restore your damaged skin barrier while also evening out the complexion. It’s meant to nourish using Tamanu oil and other nutritious ingredients to replenish what your skin is lacking! The texture of this serum is creamy almost moisturizer like texture. I do not have a current picture of the texture because I’m on empty :(( but it is so easy to apply and not sticky at all!! My opinion: I absolutely adore this serum. When it’s winter or when my skin is struggling in any way this is my go to. This product is amazing. It’s so soothing, and I truly notice how soft and how calm my skin is overnight! It feels so smooth and amazing on my skin and is just to die for. The ingredients are amazing and the owner of the brand is so interactive as it’s a small brand so it’s super nice to also be behind the whole brand. I will ALWAYS have one of these on hand regardless of what my skin care routine looks like. It’s a must have! I would one hundred percent recommend this product to anyone and everyone. It is so amazing for sensitive skin especially if your skin is suffering from dry weather or overuse of stripping products. It’s 28 dollars and every time one is bought money is donated to the Great Barrier Reef! It’s amazing!! 5/5 from me :)
