My Top 3 Vitamin C Products

Skinsitive
Vitamin c is a potent antioxidant, which helps to combat free radical damage to collagen, and it inhibits the production of tyrosinase, lessening melanin production to correct dark spots, uneven tone, and post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation. L-ascorbic acid specifically is a mild chemical exfoliant as well, garnering an extra boost to its tone-correcting and dark spot-lightening powers. Here are my favourite vitamin c products: • *GOOD MOLECULES - Vitamin C Booster Powder
: The major appeals of powdered vitamin c are the longer lifespan of the product and the ability to control product concentration. Most vitamin c powders are made equally- I’ve heard good things about the Ordinary’s! I stopped using powder due to getting irritation anytime I accidentally used too much- I’m so sensitive to vitamin c that even a little extra makes my skin red. This would be best for those with oily skin (just add it to your moisturizer, avoiding an extra serum) or for those that want to be able to personally control concentration. • The Ordinary - Ascorbic Acid 8% + Alpha Arbutin 2%
: My favourite brightening serum. Team up a gentle concentration of l-ascorbic acid with the super effective alpha arbutin and watch hyperpigmentation quickly fade over the weeks. It has a slick texture but soaks in quickly and the smoky scent has only recently become noticeable- I need a new bottle soon, it lasts so long! This would suit those who have sensitive skin, melasma, or PIH/hyperpigmentation issues. • DRUNK ELEPHANT - C-Firma Vitamin C Day Serum
: One pump of C-Firma mixed into B-Hydra and Protini was my daytime routine for months and months. It’s so effective at correcting uneven tone! But C-Firma’s potent formula of 15% vitamin c, vitamin e, and ferulic acid is too much strong for my face- my cheeks get red and bumpy when I use it. But I’ve been adding a pump to my Sili body lotion to prevent any dark spots and fade scars, which has been surprisingly effective. I’d mainly recommend this for mature skin that’s already experiencing dark spots or those that have a high tolerance for vitamin c. * gifted

Morning routine updated
Ok I’ve made a few changes to my routine and sometimes I keep switching a few things in and out depending on the day.... I start with The Ordinary - Glycolic Acid 7% Toning Solution which I love. I think glycolic acid is an important ingredient to have in your routine for oily skin and wrinkles and even acne too. I always use insta natural - Zinc Vitamin C Serum but I go between also using insta natural - Age Defying & Skin Clearing Serum which I love for acne, insta natural - Dark Spot Corrector I don’t notice a huge difference with this but it has great ingredients or insta natural - Skin Brightening Serum, Anti-Aging that has alpha arbutin to help brighten dark spots or hyperpigmentation. So I alternate with those! Love using COSRX - Advanced Snail 96 Mucin Power Essence to have a dewy glow and helps with skin texture and pigmentation issues I’ve recently added The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% to help with acne and oily skin and love it too. I top with a thin layer of Clindamycin gel and then moisturizer which I alternate also between a few different ones. BEEKMAN 1802 - Bloom Cream Daily Probiotic Moisturizer has great ingredients but a funky old woman smell I do not like, thank goodness I only have a sample size.... Honest has a great soothing moisturizer I’ve tried and also ARBONNE has a great calming moisturizer as well as a lightweight jelly moisturizer I go between. Then I do a few drops of The Ordinary - Ascorbic Acid 8% + Alpha Arbutin 2% and I’m done. I usually let it sit for awhile or at least a good 5 minutes while I do my eye makeup and eyeliner before I use any face makeup but I love the texture of my skin so far using this all together.

Drunk Elephant- The Littles 🐘
I won this cute little kit in a raffle & I couldn’t be more thankful! I have always wanted to try these products but never wanted to spend the money on all of them incase I didn’t like them! Inside this kit are the following products: DRUNK ELEPHANT - Beste No. 9 Jelly Cleanser Deluxe Sample DRUNK ELEPHANT - B-Hydra Intensive Hydration Serum DRUNK ELEPHANT - Protini Polypeptide Cream DRUNK ELEPHANT - C-Tango Multivitamin Eye Cream DRUNK ELEPHANT - T.L.C. Framboos Glycolic Resurfacing Night Serum DRUNK ELEPHANT - C-Firma Vitamin C Day Serum DRUNK ELEPHANT - Virgin Marula Luxury Facial Oil DRUNK ELEPHANT - Umbra Tinte Physical Daily Defense Broad Spectrum Sunscreen SPF 30 That’s literally a whole skincare routine! So far I started out my day with one of Drunk Elephants infamous “Face Smoothies” I washed my face with Beste No. 9 Jelly Cleanser & then combined C-Firma Day Serum, Virgin Marula Luxury Facial Oil, & Protini Polypeptide Cream together on my mixing trey with a disposable skincare spatula! I applied it all over my face & neck. Once that absorbed, I applied Umbra Tinte Daily Defense SPF 30 over my face & neck & was done! I love how the kit comes with steps to walk you through different routines you can use in the morning or at night! I will do a follow up review after I have used all the products for a few weeks! But so far, my skin feels & looks great! I have been breaking out lately & haven’t felt the best about my skin so I really needed this pick me up!! Thank you for reading! You guys are the best!! ❤️ @cherie@Cheriebeauty@CheriePick

Is C Firma Really That Bad?! 🧡😒
I just wanna preface this that a good vitamin C is too hard to find in a world with so many different beauty products!! Okay so I think Cherie has a really bad vibe when it comes to this product... yeah it kinda smells like bacon and it sticky AF but man it’s a great product! So a couple of great things about this product: This product lasted me over 8 months, and I used it EVERYDAY I saw my dark spots get a whole lot better My skin felt rejuvenated every time after using this The packaging is great for preserving the product Some meh aspects about the product: Smells like bacon The product ended up leaking Sticky AF I probably won’t repurchase this... but I’m glad I got to try it! Don’t think I’d recommend it though.

Good Molecules Cyber Monday Haul 🧬🖤
I’m a little late with this but I wanted to post my Good Molecules Cyber Monday haul! I also bought that cute mini fridge but it hasn’t shipped out yet. Did anyone else pick that up? 🙋🏻‍♀️ For my haul I stocked up on some favorites and some new products. The two favorites I picked up were the GOOD MOLECULES - Niacinamide Brightening Toner and the GOOD MOLECULES - Pure Cold-Pressed Rosehip Seed Oil . If you’re going to use a toner I highly suggest this one! It doesn’t have any stripping ingredients most toners on the market contain. It has niacinamide, licorice root extract, and hyaluronic acid to bring moisture into the skin as well as help hyperpigmentation. It’s a complete game changer when it comes to a routine. I’m also a huge fan of their rosehip oil. It is a lot smaller than The Ordinary but something about it feels better/absorbs better on my skin. The new products to me are the GOOD MOLECULES - Instant Cleansing Balmand the GOOD MOLECULES - Vitamin C Booster Powder(which comes with a scoop!). I’m a HUGE cleansing balm fan and this has been on my list for forever. I also really appreciate the tin it comes in. I also wanted to incorporate vitamin C into my routine but I know how unstable it can be so I thought a powdered form would be a good option.

Found a picture of my 1st skincare collection
I was going through my pictures this morning and I found the picture I took of the very first skincare products I ever bought. I had masks etc. before this but this was the very beginning!! The Ordinary - Glycolic Acid 7% Toning Solution I love this toner! It really does help with the texture of my skin and the price point is awesome with the amount you get! The Ordinary - Squalane Cleanser When I first used this wash I really loved it! Now that I have tried many others, I don’t love it as much but it’s not the worst cleanser by any means. GOOD MOLECULES - Hyaluronic Acid Serum This is a very great HA serum and another one at a great price point! The Ordinary - Caffeine Solution 5% + EGCG I have seriously bad eye bags because I never sleep well, this serum does reduce them but I’ve recently found other products that are even better. My husband uses this for dark circles and there has been no difference. GOOD MOLECULES - Overnight Exfoliating Treatment This is a super gentle chemical exfoliator, if TO serum is too strong for you, give this one a try. You definitely wake up with much softer skin! The Ordinary - AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution The cult favorite and I love it! It works and does everything it says! Definitely be safe with this one. No more than 2X a week. The Ordinary - Matrixyl* 10% + HA I cannot RAVE about this enough!!! This serum is the one that seriously reduced my deep forehead wrinkles. This is definitely one you should try if you are trying to reduce the appearance of yours! GOOD MOLECULES - Squalane Oil This is a perfect addition to your routine if you struggle with dry skin and are trying to use things that are anti-aging. Plus it’s amazing on lips too!! GOOD MOLECULES - Vitamin C Booster Powder I know there are mixed reviews on the do it yourself powders but I actually really love this one. As long as you mix it well into a water-based serum it’s awesome and you can skip a step in your routine. These are all really good products especially for a skincare beginner! If you have any questions about these let me know! ❤️

Inexpensive Vitamin C But Not My Favourite
Inexpensive Vitamin C But Not My Favourite
The Ordinary - Vitamin C Suspension 23% + HA Spheres 2% The Ordinary have so many Vitamin C products that it can be overwhelming trying to figure out which one is best for you. Fortunately on the deciem website they have a whole page dedicated to helping you decide. I highly suggest checking that out. (It can be found on deciem.com under any Vitamin C page. Just follow the link they provide). As we all know, Vitamin C is a powerful and effective antioxidant. It helps brighten skin tone and reduce dark spots and signs of aging. This specific product is water-free and silicone-free. It contains 23% L-Ascorbic acid powder. Because of this, the consistency isn’t a serum or a cream, or an oil. It’s sort of a dry oil but looks like a cream? All of the above mixed together? I don’t know how best to explain it lol. It feels gritty on the skin due to the powder, and because there’s no silicone in it you feel that grittiness more. They offer Vitamin C Suspension 30% in Silicone if you want a smoother feel. However, keep in mind that whole silicone will get rid of the gritty feel, the vitamin C efficiency is decreased. This formula does sting/tingle on contact if you’re not used to the product. It’s not irritating to the skin unless you apply it to broken skin. I think to avoid the stinging sensation you could mix this your face cream. The two main ingredients in this product are Ascorbic acid and Squalane. The HA spheres refers to sodium hyaluronate I believe, which is a form of hyaluronic acid. This helps boost skin’s moisture. While this isn’t my favourite vitamin C product, it’s not my least favourite either. I don’t find I reach for this as often as others due to the gritty texture. I appreciate that it does have a stable vitamin C with a high exposure/efficiency, but it does sting if not used regularly, and does take longer to absorb compared to other vitamin C products. It takes about 10-20 seconds for full absorption. I also found this quite greasy feeling. Another plus, it’s cheap: $5.80 CAD from Sephora. I gave this 3/5 stars because I don’t love the texture of it or the tingling sensation. However, this may be the right vitamin C product for you. It’s worth trying due to the price alone and the fact that it contains L-Ascorbic acid powder in such a stable formulation. I also dislike the grittiness of the powder as it felt like it was scratching my skin.

☀️ products listed DERMA•E - Vitamin C Concentrated Serum super easy to use serum with a high concentration of vitamin c AND hyaluronic acid for double duty ST.TROPEZ - Self Tan Purity Vitamins Bronzing Face Serum self tan serum with vitamins C and D for bronzing and treating ☀️ what it is Vitamin C is an antioxidant that neutralizes free radicals (an unstable atom that causes oxidation stress which causes aging). it is SUPER HELPFUL in helping the skin recover and regenerate, leading to brighter, smoother skin. it also promotes collagen and elastin production! ☀️ how to use look for products with ascorbic acid or L-ascorbic acid, which is Vitamin C’s most stable form. Serums are best for targeted application. Allow to fully absorb into the skin before applying anything over it. You can use it both night and day, but make sure to use SPF with it as is makes the skin sun sensitive. this awesome ingredient can be found in eye creams, toners, and spot treatments but make sure to buy AIRTIGHT and SUNSAFE packaging. Oxygen and sunlight cause Vitamin C to break down and work less.

Tired of looking for the perfect vitamin C serum
Tired of looking for the perfect vitamin C serum
I have been testing SO many different vitamin C serums. I feel that with one product that has most of my boxes crossed of (for everything I want in the serum) along comes the negative effects. What I’m trying to say, for example, is that I always used to use DE’s C Firma. With C Firma, you get amazing benefits, but it was so sticky and smelled horrible. Enter these two- Olehenrickson’s banana bright serum and Allies of Skin vitamin C serum. The OleHen serum claims to be a powerful age-defying serum with 15% vitamin c, 5% PHA’s, and HA that instantly brightens, visibly firms, plumps skin hydration, and reduces the appearance of dark spots, pores, and wrinkles. The Allies of Skin serum claims to be the worlds first waterless 35% vitamin C serum supercharged with an antioxidant complex of superoxide dismutase + glutathione for intense brightening, repair, and collagen building. With the OleHenrickson’s serum, you get a beautiful creamy texture and a gorgeous fresh citrus scent. The serum itself has PHA’s in it, which aren’t as heavily used in skincare as the typical AHA and BHA’s. SO that really sets the serum apart from the harsher vitamin c’s on the market right now. PHA’s tend to be hydrating and gentle. This serum’s downfall is the inability to play well with others in my skincare routine. It typically pills if I try to layer other products on top. Another downfall is that it takes a really long time to see any results, if you notice a difference at all. But, it is a pleasant serum to use for hydrating the skin. I wouldn’t rush out to buy it, though, because it is a bit pricey. I have been using the AOS 35% vitamin C collagen rebuilding serum for almost 6 months. It is hands down the best vitamin C serum I have ever used. It checks every single box for me with the ONLY negative being the price. But when you realize how jam-packed it is with results-driven and science proven ingredients, you can agree that it’s justified. This serum has more of a dry-oil type texture, with zero scent nor color. I love how easily this silky serum spreads onto the skin and absorbs. It leaves such a dewy glow and makes your skin so soft. I thought I was crazy, but I started to take progress pictures while using this.. it significantly lightened my PIH within ONE WEEK. Those are midblowing results. I highly recommend this serum. Let’s talk about vitamin C brightening serums
Let’s talk about vitamin C brightening serums
Let’s talk about vitamin C brightening serums. If you’re looking to turn your dull skin more radiant and bright, while helping fade dark spots, these kinds of serums are probably for you. There are many on the market that claim to have great, wonder-working properties for your skin, but they can vary tremendously by price point. We’ll start with The Ordinary - Ascorbyl Glucoside Solution 12% At about $13, this serum claims to brightening the skin tone and reduce signs of aging. It comes in a dropper style bottle that is UV protected and a few drops can be used twice a day. It is alcohol-free, oil-free, silicone-free, gluten-free, vegan, and cruelty-free. The TATCHA - Violet-C Brightening Serum 20% Vitamin C + 10% AHA is a whopping $88 and claims to soften, smooth, and brighten skin for a more even skin tone. This serum contains 20% Vitamin C, 10% AHAs, Japanese Beautyberry, and Japanese Angelic Root. It comes in a pump style bottle and 1-2 pumps can be used in the evening. It is oil-free, fragrance-free, and cruelty-free. Now that you know the specifics, let’s get into the biggest difference: PRICE! There is a $75 price difference between the two products which is insane. The ultimate question then becomes; does the price make a difference in the product? In my humble opinion, both are beautiful products that do the jobs that they claim. I love the TATCHA one and reach for it when I am having an especially bad skin day, but once the bottle is done, I will not be repurchasing simply because it is way too expensive for me. I will go back to my Ordinary one. It does the job perfectly. Final Thoughts: If you’re looking for luxury, go for TATCHA. But remember they both do essentially the same thing. The Ordinary gives your skin what it needs without breaking the bank.

Sweetchef Ginger + Vitamin C Serum Shot
Sweetchef Ginger + Vitamin C Serum Shot
Lets talk about everyone’s brightening bff Vitamin C serum !!! 🍊✨ - I haven’t really tried that many vitamin c serums because after I tried the Mario Badescu one (its trash dont recommend) and had the most awful reaction ever I was basically much scarred from ever using one again. Also a lot of vit c serums are pretty darn pricy and I haven’t gotten myself to actually go out and treat myself to a good one. I picked the Ginger + Vitamin C Serum shot by @sweetchefskin (glow recipes sister brand hi ily) from Target and have been using it consistently in the am for a few weeks - This serum is only $20 which really isn’t bad for a face serum and I have really been enjoying it so far! The serums texture feels a bit tacky at first but it absorbed into my skin so well and it was easy to layer on all my other products. The smell is super subtle/refreshing and not overpowering whatsoever. There wasn’t really any immediate results which I didn’t expect but overtime it has helped with some hyperpigmentation and evening out my skin. My only big downside would have to be the dropper. It was sort of a pain to work with/ product for out, but it wasn’t that big of a deal for me. I wouldn’t say this serum is anything intense so it’s definitely a good vitamin c serum for beginners that wont break the bank! - What are your holy grail Vitamin C serums? I need to try some new ones out 🧡

Vitamin C Works Wonders for Skin 🧡🍊
Vitamin C Works Wonders for Skin 🧡🍊
I incorporate Drunk Elephant’s C-Firma Day Serum into my AM smoothies nearly everyday. My favorite AM smoothie consists of 1-2 pumps of Protini, a pump of B-Hydra, a pump of C-Firma, & a pump of D-Bronzi. I top it off with Umbra Tinte & C-Tango for the eyes! ☀️ C-Firma is jam packed with antioxidants & beneficial acids to promote firmer & brighter skin. My skin used to be so uneven due to hyperpigmentation - now my skin is brighter, more radiant & even. This serum has also worked wonders when it comes to diminishing the appearance of any sun spots or scarring that I had from picking my face back in the day. 🧡 If I had to absolutely nitpick something about the product, I guess my only “complaint” would be the smell. But I’ve tried other vitamin C serums / products, and unless it is artificially fragranced, they all smell “bad”. The smell doesn’t personally bother me at all; it is mild and doesn’t linger. This serum is on the pricey side; it retails for $80 at Sephora or directly on Drunk Elephant’s site but I believe that skincare should be an investment - makeup only looks as good as what’s underneath. 🧡 DRUNK ELEPHANT - C-Firma Vitamin C Day Serum
