Ingredient Breakdown: Peptides
Collagen is a protein made up of amino acids, imparting bounce and firmness. But collagen can be broken down by free radicals (hello, oxidizing fragrance/volatile essential oil compounds), smoking, UV rays, and age. Age contributes to collagen loss also because your body makes less collagen peptides after some time in your 20s. Topical collagen-containing products don’t work, as collagen molecules are too big to pass through the epidermis. Instead, use peptides to help it act younger and make more collagen! Peptides (also made up of amino acids) are small enough to get to the dermis where collagen is made. In response, skin should start making more peptides to form more collagen. Copper peptides are considered particularly beneficial, though the main benefit over normal peptides is their wound healing capability, making them wonderful for those with acne, on top of their anti-aging benefit. Rapid Reviews: The Ordinary Serums
The Ordinary - Ascorbic Acid 8% + Alpha Arbutin 2% My absolute favourite vitamin c serum, with a boost of alpha arbutin. Amazing at lightening PIH and uneven tone. It does have a slightly unpleasant slick texture that is 100% worth the quick results and gentleness. It’ll be hard for me to pay to try another vitamin c serum considering the affordable price and wonderful results I’ve experienced. The Ordinary - Retinol 1% in Squalane I used the various levels of TO’s Retinol in Squalane to slowly adjust my skin to retinol. Love them! They soaked in well during autumn and winter, with zero irritation and minimal purging. I did find they absorb better applied alone. Didn’t help my acne much but I did see scar texture improvement! It’s so silky and softening, I can’t imagine another retinol being better for those with dry skin. The Ordinary - Resveratrol 3% + Ferulic Acid 3% I honestly don’t notice a difference when I use this serum. It’s for long-term skin health so I didn’t expect much in the couple months of use, but it feels slick on skin for an unfortunate length of time so I dreaded applying it. I prefer my Paula’s Choice antioxidant serums. The Ordinary - 100% Organic Virgin Sea-Buckthorn Fruit Oil This stains tf out of shirts and pillows. Your face will be rusty orange for a couple hours. It smells kind of weird. But it is the most calming, nourishing oil I’ve ever used- moreso than rosehip, marula, jojoba, squalane, even from luxury brands. I’m going to order a refill for my tretinoin journey! It heals extracted blemishes beautifully and leaves skin silky by morning. I can’t recommend this enough for anyone with dry skin and those that pick at their face/acne. The Ordinary - Alpha Arbutin 2% + HA If your skin dislikes vitamin c (or you already have a vitamin c serum) but you want to fade hyperpigmentation and uneven tone? This stuff has been a favourite in my routine for years until I switched to the (first) mentioned sister product. It applies light, soaks in quickly, caused no irritation, and I saw rapid results compared to vitamin c. Not as quick as Azelaic Acid, but close! Love it. The Ordinary - "Buffet" + Copper Peptides 1% Not pictured but I love it so immensely. It takes a million years to absorb (expect tacky skin until it does) but the soothing, healing aspect has me dreading when my bottle runs out. For a seriously packed peptide serum, it’s pretty affordable- $28.90 for 30 mL. The inability to mix it with acids is annoying but my blemishes are always so much less red and disappear very quickly when I use this serum. It does have a somewhat metallic scent but I happily deal with it and recommend its sister product (The Ordinary - ''Buffet'' ) as an intro the peptides and this for anyone looking to try out copper peptides for their improved healing properties!
Affordable&Amazing! Game Changers for Oily Skin!!!👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
I have oily skin, and my skn is quite skin. Hydration and elementary anti-aging are my biggest requirement for choosing skincare products. After careful search, I come up with this unique combination. 🙊🙊🙊I hope this can be helpful to you as well! After using this combination for one night, I can see that my skin is less oily than it used to be. 1. The Ordinary - "Buffet" + Copper Peptides 1% This formula includes a 1% concentration of pure Copper Peptides. It can effectively support a wide range of skin health functions like maintaining normal immune function, collagen synthesis, fibroblast production and anti-inflammatory responses. If you like retinol products better, you can use a retinol serum to replace this serum in the combination. 2. CeraVe - Daily Moisturizing Lotion For Normal To Dry Skin Affordable moisturizing lotion! It formulates three essential ceramides and hyaluronic acid. It moisturizes and helps restore the skin’s protective barrier. It can also improve the skin's ability to lock in hydration, changing the skin's capability in the long-run. 3. Kiehl's - Ultra Facial Cream It is formulated with Glacial Glycoprotein and olive-derived Squalane. Squalane is known for its exceptional affinity to skin. It is a highly-refined moisturizing oil. So it can cause oily skin to get whiteheads and pimples. But when we use it with ceramide, this problem can be eased. I have used this combination for a few months. My skin has been stable and hydrated during this entire time. They are DEF high-quality products at affordable prices. I really recommend you to give it a try! You won't regret! If you have any other combination that you find awesome, let me know🌞🌞🌞
Do’s & Don’t’s of A Sensitive Skin Routine
In my opinion, all skin is sensitive- but people with particularly reactive skin have to take extra caution, especially when you have a condition like eczema (hey fam!) and rosacea. Personally, I have combination sensitive skin and eczema, but nowadays my skin is pretty normal. Here’s some tips to follow when building your basic skincare routine... • Don’t: Jump into a ten-step routine. Overwhelming skin with so many products can easily aggravate sensitive skin, while also making it harder to figure out what one is irritating your skin. Take your time. • Do: Iron out the basics! Before introducing serums, make sure to find a cleanser, moisturizer, and sunscreen combination that gently nourishes skin. Avoid exfoliants in these so that they’re a safe fall-back if your skin starts flaring up. My favourite sensitive skin cleansers are HOLI FROG - Tashmoo Water Lily Nourishing Milky Wash and PAULA'S CHOICE - RESIST Perfectly Balanced Foaming Cleanser , as they cleanse without stripping skin of protective oils. My go-to sensitive skin (and all skin) sunscreens are PAULA'S CHOICE - Essential Glow Moisturizer SPF 30 (mineral) and PAULA'S CHOICE - YOUTH-EXTENDING DAILY HYDRATING FLUID SPF 50 (chemical). • Don’t: Use products with fragrance, alcohol, or essential oils. Alcohol is drying and can weaken the skin barrier, your skin’s defense against environmental damage. Fragrance and essential oils not only have a high chance of irritating skin, but also oxidize upon contact with the air, releasing free radicals that break down collagen. Avoid these. • Do: Incorporate antioxidants. Antioxidants battle environmental aggressors, neutralize free radicals, soothe skin, and calm redness. These and a good sunscreen are going to be your best combination for calm, youthful skin! I utilize a couple drops of The Ordinary - Resveratrol 3% + Ferulic Acid 3% on mornings I forgo vitamin c, but I also enjoy the silky texture of PAULA'S CHOICE - Retinol Super Antioxidant Serum for a gentle, moisturizing retinol that is also loaded with antioxidants. • Don’t: Try to smother skin into submission. Piling on layers of the heaviest cream may provide temporary relief, but it can lead to congestion and acne, which will only inflame skin more in the long-term. • Do: Combine fatty acids, ceramides, peptides, and/or hyaluronic acid treatments to repair the skin barrier, promoting moisture retainment in multiple levels. Layering different types of hydration/moisture from thinnest to thickest is better for your skin and will promote healing the root cause versus treating the symptoms. I love combining PAULA'S CHOICE - Resist Anti-Ageing Omega+ Complex Serum and NIOD - Multi-Molecular Hyaluronic Complex underneath my moisturizer to hydrate + nourish my skin and reduce frequency of my eczema flare-ups.
My favorite duos Dr. Dennis Gross - at first I didn’t think it was doing much. A week later, I started noticing the small fine lines in my forehead were reducing and so were my enlarged pores, which I have been suffering from for a very long time! I absolutely love to put this on almost every day after Paula’s Choice Peptide BoostDr Dennis Gross - Stress Rescue Super Serum with Niacinamide Paula’s Choice Peptide Boost - has given me so much radiance and a true boost to my skin routine! Helped me reduce the appearance of my fine lines and firmness PAULA'S CHOICE - Peptide Booster Paula’s Choice Azelaic Acid - best for hyperpigmentation and it’s been a game changer! Amazing! Helping me so much clarifying all of my stubborn acne spots PAULA'S CHOICE - 10% Azelaic Acid Booster

Gives me the best texture and firmness my skin well balanced! DRUNK ELEPHANT Protini Polypeptide Moisturizer- A protein moisturizer that combines signal peptides, growth factors, amino acids, and pygmy waterlily to improve the look of skin’s tone, texture, and firmness. What Else You Need to Know: Protini restores younger, revived-looking skin. Lines, wrinkles, and sun damage appear reduced and skin feels strengthened and moisturized. Think of Protini like adding protein to your smoothie. Abundant with proteins and nutrients, it replenishes and restores skin to a strong, healthy state. Formulated at an ideal pH level of 4.0. My Top 4 Favourite Moisturizers
I’ve tried a lot of moisturizers- I’m not Sephora Rouge for nothing! Many were okay for my combination skin, though less fit my skin when it was super oily and even less work now for my super sensitive skin, but these four are moisturizers I keep coming back to, due to their lovely textures and wonderful formulations. [Products are depicted and listed thickest to thinnest] DRUNK ELEPHANT - Lala Retro Whipped Moisturizer with Ceramides is a fluffy yet rich whipped moisturizer that feels creamy and silky on skin, but quickly absorbs and leaves a satin finish. A somewhat pricy ($60/50mL) moisturizer I’d recommend for all skin types -though I’d recommend dried skin types add in an oil too- Lala contains ceramides, fatty acids, sodium hyaluronate, and a variety of whipped oils to offer skin barrier support and potent moisture without any shine. I’ll be repurchasing soon to use alongside my tretinoin regime! PAULA'S CHOICE - Probiotic Nutrient Moisturizer manages to sit between a gel and a cream, offering medium-weight but potent moisture. I use this moisturizer currently, in the evening! It’s packed with pre-, pro-, and post-biotics to support a healthy skin microbiome to fight off unfriendly bacteria that could otherwise take up residence on skin to cause acne or irritation. I love this reasonably-priced ($42/50mL) moisturizer for how gentle it is, managing to soothe my tretinoin-irritated skin and apply to eczema flare-ups without any stinging. I’d recommend this for all skin types, though I find it seems to offer longer-term hydration than Lala so dry skin may not need to add an oil. DRUNK ELEPHANT - Protini Polypeptide Moisturizer is a lightweight gel moisturizer that is bouncy and hydrating, though I will say the only drawback to this moisturizer is its shiny finish that takes a while to fade. A bit pricy at $68 for 50mL. But it feels very light on the skin, making it perfect under makeup or (you better 👀) sunscreen, especially for combination, oily, and normal skin. This is primarily an anti-aging moisturizer and it feels absolutely divine coming fresh out of the fridge in the summer. stratia - Liquid Gold is a light, silky treasure trove of skin-identical cholesterol, fatty acids, and ceramides to affordably ($27/60mL) and effectively nourish the skin barrier as the included niacinamide soothes any signs of irritation. I love this moisturizer so much! It’s versatile, working as a moisturizer for oily skin while also being a very moisturizing serum for dry skin to layer under another moisturizer. I especially love it on especially humid, hot days, as it never feels heavy and gives a non-shiny satin finish.
3 Serums from Skin Ceuticals! Which one do you like?
Hey gals. Have you ever used any product from Skin Ceuticals? Today I want to share my experience after using three serums from Skin Ceuticals. Which one do you like the best? My skin is comibination-dry, sometimes I have acne. My skin is quite good, except for some small wrinkles around the nose or eyes. My main purpose for skincare is to maintain the current situation and brighten my skin tone. SKINCEUTICALS - Serum 10 Aox+(30ml/$70) As part of the Anti-oxidation Prevent Series, Serum 10 has the least concentration. I want to build up my tolerance gently. The texture is a water-like light yellow liquid. It doesn't feel oily at all. The moment I spread it out, it was absorbed. This product is recommended to be used in the morning. I normally use half tube at one time. It is slightly irritating when I first use it, especially where you have acne scars. But it got better soon. It does not hurt at all when your skin is healthy. After using most of this bottle, I think my skin looks brighter and softer. I will keep using this product. Anti-oxidation is a consistent process. SKINCEUTICALS - Hyaluronic Acid Intensifier Serum(30ml/$100) This is the most impressive serum from the HA series! It contains 10% Pro-Xylane, which is effective for anti-aging. This texture somehow feels like a glue, kinda sticky. It is a light purple liquid. You have to keep pressing your face after you apply it, or your skin might get flaky. It can be used for days and nights. After I almost used up this bottle, my wrinkle looked less visible. SKINCEUTICALS - C E Ferulic With 15% L-Ascorbic Acid Vitamin C Serum(30ml/$166) I have been using it for a few days. My face looks brighter. I am also using SKINCEUTICALS - Triple Lipid Restore 2:4:2 Anti Aging Creamand Emollience moisturizer. I like all of them so farm, and I will post updates regarding these products.

My Favourite Anti-Aging Products
“Anti-aging” is pretty much a marketing term. The only things that are going to have drastic results on deep wrinkles are office-only, like Botox and filler. But the best way to fight visible signs of aging is to prevent them and slow their arrival. • Sunscreen: There is legitimately not a single better way to protect your skin’s youth- and health! Sunscreen is so, so important, as windows do not block the aging UV rays and more studies show blue light from electronics also damages unprotected skin. UV rays not only cause/worsen wrinkles and fine lines, but also dark spots. DRUNK ELEPHANT - Umbra Sheer Physical Daily Defense Broad Spectrum Sunscreen SPF 30 is wonderful for dry skin (and/or winter use) and PAULA'S CHOICE - YOUTH-EXTENDING DAILY HYDRATING FLUID SPF 50 is amazing for all skin types and those who wear makeup. • Retinol: 0.1% Tretinoin is the strongest retinoid you’re going to find and likely the best for fighting signs of aging- but for prevention, everyone probably doesn’t need that kind of strength. If you want to avoid a prescription, look to retinols, available in up to 1.0% concentration. Retinol increases collagen + elastin production and stimulates skin renewal, via increasing cell turnover. This helps to fade dark spots, improve plumpness, and lessen fine lines- plus it’s known to be helpful for some acne cases. I have been enjoying the gentleness of PAULA'S CHOICE - 0.3% Retinol + 2% Bakuchiol Treatment combined with PAULA'S CHOICE - Retinol Super Antioxidant Serum (0.1% Retinol). I would recommend them for all skin types, though dry skin may appreciate The Ordinary - Retinol 1% in Squalane or another concentration. • Antioxidants: Antioxidants protect skin from environmental aggressors, like pollution and oxidative damage from free radicals. They soothe skin, help prevent fine lines, and can brighten skin, vitamin c being the most popular and well-known. DRUNK ELEPHANT - C-Firma Vitamin C Day Serum is a fantastic 15% l-ascorbic acid serum that lightens hyperpigmentation and dark spots significantly, but my sensitive skin prefers The Ordinary - Ascorbic Acid 8% + Alpha Arbutin 2%

A Skin Story
Hello friends! I shared my Drunk Elephant transformation on Instagram over a year ago and I thought I should share it here ❤️ In short, my face was covered in horrible cystic acne. I tried out TLC Framboos, Lala Retro and B Hydra and my life was forever changed. I was even featured on the Drunk Elephant Instagram and then their new Bare With Us kit for my before and after photo! I have included my original photo plus a photo of my skin then and now too. I still can’t believe how far I have come. I could cry. Good skincare makes all the difference. Here’s my original blurb from early lady year: “It’s pretty crazy what a year can do! I used to look like the girl on the left and had self esteem issues and did everything I could to cover up those large painful red bumps. And now, with proper skincare, I can embrace the skin I am in and spend a whole day (or two) without a stitch of makeup and still love myself 💕💕 thank you to @drunkelephant #TLCFramboos for resurfacing my skin and to #LalaRetro and #BHydra for hydrating my parched skin and of course to #CTango for brightening up my dark undereyes. I feel like a whole new person with this boost of confidence. Retinol is AMAZING!
✨I have sensitive combination skin and my biggest and constant skin concern is hormonal acne. It’s a tough cycle because by the time you get it clear again, it feels like it comes back but one thing I’ve added a few months ago that has helped tremendously is retinol! ✨Retinol is a product that helps increase skin cell turnover so for me that ends up looking like breakouts healing faster and less breakouts overall. It can also help with fine lines! ✨Lately, I’ve been using A-Passioni by Drunk Elephant after double cleansing at night. It is a fairly strong retinol and I am really enjoying it. ✨When using a retinol, you want to do a patch test on your hand to make sure it works well with your skin. Then you want to slowly incorporate it in small amounts into your routine. I use it at night so I can use my vitamin C during the day personally. Tips- -Incorporate slowly -You may experience some skin purging and the amount of time for this varies per person but it can be a few weeks. -It can help using it with a heavier moisturizer or something like the CeraVe Healing Ointment. -I occasionally use a gentle exfoliant like the new Sand and Sky Enzyme Powder Polish to remove any dry skin or peeling that occurs from it. This has decreased for me over time. DRUNK ELEPHANT - A-Passioni Retinol Cream

Is This The Best Serum Ever? SkinCeuticals Time!🌵🌵
This is the last part of my long review. I have seen many posts on SkinCeuticals Products these days. Is you are still wondering if this is the brand for you, keep reading this post! This review is on 3 different serums from SkinCeuticals. Do you like this brand? SKINCEUTICALS - Phloretin Cf PCF and CF are most probably SkinCeuticals' signature products when it comes to brightening skin complexion and preventing oxidative stress on the skin and they really live up to their hype. In addition, I think that we get the best results from using PCF and CF if we use them in the morning. PCF is more suitable for oily skin, while CF is more suitable for dry skin. It's suitable for those who are seeking to brighten their skin, remove acne- scars, and protect their skin from oxidation. SKINCEUTICALS - Phyto Corrective Gel Hydrating Botanical Gel Phyto Corrective Gel combines hyaluronic acid with a botanical blend of cucumber, thyme, olive leaf, and other calming botanical ingredients. It's an anti-inflammatory product which can soothe and calm our skin. It works well in reducing the redness of new acne scars. It's suitable for all skin types, especially sensitive and oily skin. SKINCEUTICALS - RESVERATROL B E Nighttime Antioxidant Serum for face B E Antioxidant Night Concentrate is one of my favorite products from SkinCeuticals. 1% of resveratrol neutralizes free radicals, supports the skin's natural antioxidant defenses, and reveals visible radiance and firmness. It also contains other antioxidant ingredients that can truly and effectively allow the skin to repair itself at night. It doesn't feel heavy on the skin, spreads easily, and is quickly absorbed by the skin. It's suitable for all skin types.
A-Passioni by Drunk Elephant❤️
❤️This is A-Passioni Retinol Cream by Drunk Elephant. It is meant to increase skin cell turnover which helps with fine lines and breakouts. 🐘I have sensitive combo skin with hormonal breakouts and WOW. Although this is a strong retinol and did give me some peeling at first, this is such a game changer. 💕I find this helped me get rid of a lot of acne scars as well as decreased my breakout healing time. It also prevents breakouts from happening for me. ☀️The key to this is to incorporate small amounts very slowly and build your way up to regular use. This can cause peeling and skin purging for a few weeks but it is worth it! I’m seeing parts of my face clear that I haven’t seen that way in probably a year or two. 🐘I use with a lot of hydrating products afterwards including a moisturizer and facial oil. I find this also pairs nicely with occasional exfoliation. 💕This has a ton of ingredients in it (I mean a TON) so that’s why I’m giving it 4 rather than 5 stars because there’s no way they are all necessary. I would repurchase though! DRUNK ELEPHANT - A-Passioni Retinol Cream
