Do you use acids?
I started incorporating acid products into my skincare routine about 5 months ago and I’m so mad at myself for not starting earlier! My first purchase was The Ordinary - Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5 and I’m hooked! I have dry skin and this HA serum has helped hydrate my skin SO much! It’s lightweight and super gentle. I use it twice a day (am and pm) after toning and before continuing the rest of my routine. ✨HYALURONIC ACID MUST ALWAYS BE APPLIED TO DAMP SKIN! The second acid I tried was Glycolic Acid and I got the The Ordinary - Glycolic Acid 7% Toning Solution and insta natural - Glycolic Acid Serum ... both have worked SO well for my skin, even though my skin is sensitive. I only use Glycolic Acid products at night and I always make sure to use SPF the day after. These products have really helped control my blemishes. I have yet to try other acids but they are next on my list!
✨ Some of my favs ✨
These are some of my favorite brands that I 💙!! Purlisse and Yensa and both owned by the same company and make awesome skincare and beauty products. Skin Script is what I use in the treatment room and both my clients and I are obsessed with everything they create. A newer brand I recently discovered is InstaNatural! Hale and Hush is a very good professional brand if you have sensitive skin. Josie Maran can be found at Sephora, but their facial oils are awesome. Yeouth retinol is very gentle on the skin. Most, if not all, these brands are cruelty free, vegan friendly and free from sulfates, parabens and much more! pūrlisse - Blue Lotus Seed Mud Mask + Exfoliant YENSA - PUMPKIN TURMERIC 2-in-1 Radiance Polishing Mask JOSIE MARAN - Skin Dope Argan Oil + 100 mg CBD insta natural - Glycolic Acid Serum #skincare #shelfie YEOUTH - Retinol Serum with Hyaluronic Acid, Vitamin E and Aloe Vera
CLEAN BEAUTY - AM routine for dry/sensitive skin
I recently completely redid my beauty routine after finding out just how many terrible and harmful ingredients there are in many daily products. I’ve been able to keep my regular routine of cleansing, exfoliating, toning, serum, eye cream, moisturizer and SPF but just swapped out for products that are clean. Below are some good ones I’ve found so far. What are your favorite clean beauty products?? Cleanse: CAUDALIE - CAUDALIE Micellar Cleansing Water Love the smell and texture of this water. While a lot of micellar water instructions say no need to wash off, I like to splash a little warm water to prevent pore clogging. Cleanse (only PM): pai - Camellia & Rose Gentle Hydrating Cleanser + Cloth This cleanser truly is relaxing and leaves my skin feeling soft. It has a great texture and comes with an organic cloth to wash off. Tone: NEOGENLAB - Re:P. Organic Cotton Treatment Toning Pad I just got these this week, but I like them because they’re organic and don’t require cotton pads. On first couple of uses the smell was refreshing and left my skin feeling clean. Will see how they affect my skin moving forward. Another good toning option is DICKINSON'S - Original Witch Hazel Pore Perfecting Toner which left my pores feeling tight, but I didn’t love the smell as much. Serum: insta natural - Niacinamide Serum I’m really liking insta natural’s brand - they’re affordable and the quality of the product is good. This serum is white and less sticky in texture than other niacinamides I’ve tried before. I’ve been using for a few weeks now and acne scars are faded but pores relatively the same Eye cream: FARMACY - Cheer Up Brightening Vitamin C Eye Cream with Acerola Cherry I’ve been exploring Farmacy as a clean beauty brand. I like their packaging and ingredient combinations. I’ve been using this every day and it’s pretty easy to apply. Not sure yet if it’s having any effect but it didn’t cause irritation like other eye creams. Moisturizer: #Beautycounter - Cocoboost Moisturizer[products]#[ThreeStars] I’ve heard great things about Beautycounter but I have to say I’m pretty disappointed with this moisturizer. For one, it still has phenoxyethanol which isn’t good for you. It also comes on with a white cast almost like sunscreen. It absorbs relatively quickly but I’ll likely swap it out of my routine Face oil: SUNDAY RILEY - C.E.O. Glow Vitamin C + Turmeric Face Oil Love love love this face oil. The smell is so refreshing and calming and it doesn’t leave an oily shine at all. It sinks in and makes my face feel hydrated. I sometimes use this oil as my only moisturizer when it’s not too dry out SPF: babo BOTANICALS - SPF30 Clear Zinc Fragrance Free Sunscreen Lotion I’ve been searching for a chemical free SPF forever and really like this one!
Ingredient Spotlight: Niacinamide
Niacinamide has been a “hot” ingredient for a while now - and for good reason! Niacinamide, which is a form of vitamin B-3, has many benefits including: •reducing the appearance of irritation •calm redness •improve the visibility of pores over time •oil regulation •improve skin texture over time •help soothe the appearance of acne and prevent future breakouts •improve fine lines and wrinkles over time •support a healthy skin barrier I have been using some form of niacinamide in my skincare courting for about a year and a half. My first niacinamide product was the GOOD MOLECULES - Niacinamide Brightening Toner , which I’ve since used up and repurchased. This toner also contains vitamin C to help brighten skin & reduce pores’ visibility. The odorless, watery texture absorbs quickly. It can be used 2x/day but I generally use 1x in the AM. My skin genuinely missed this when I didn’t have it. My skin looked a bit dull and I had some breakouts. It truly brightens my complexion and does help reduce pore visibility over time. $14 on brand’s website or Beautylish Serums are also a great way to add niacinamide into your routine. The insta natural - Niacinamide Serum is a newer addition to my routine, but I’m so impressed. This was gifted to me by the brand. I’ve been using it regularly 1x in the PM after toner for just over a month now. I lock it in with moisturizer and occasionally face oil. This serum is extra awesome, especially for super dry skin like mine, because it contains hyaluronic acid, rosemary extract, avocado oil, and vitamin E. It does smell a bit like rosemary, but does not linger. The milky texture feels so soothing, especially when my skin is irritated and extra dry. My skin looks visibly more calm and is generally clear. The reason I love this is because niacinamide *can* be irritating for some (esp. super dry or sensitive types). I previously used The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% (used up - no photo, $6) and would experience a mild burning sensation when applied over irritated + flaky spots. It also left my face super tacky and sometimes caused pilling of products on top. I don’t recommend that one for dry or sensitive skin, and wouldn’t repurchase. The Instanatural serum does not do any of those things. It will be in my routine long-term! Plus, it’s affordable at $18 (brand’s website) and comes in a 2oz bottle. Also available on Amazon ~ $16 All brands mentioned are cruelty-free (CF), and Instanatural is leaping bunny certified (a gold standard for CF products). Please note that I am not a skincare expert. Consult your dermatologist before introducing new ingredients to your routine. #CheriePartner

Allies of Skin: 2 MUST-HAVES!
These were the first two Allies of Skin products that I’ve ever tried and I’m SO impressed with both of them!! The Peptides and Antioxidants Firming Daily Treatment has so many amazing ingredients that are meant to combat inflammation, firm the skin, and restore your skin barrier. I have been dealing with lots of new acne since Coronavirus started and they’ve been super inflamed and painful. I started using this treatment and I can honestly day that it helped with the inflammation SO much! I’ve also noticed that acne scars have been less red and much my complexion in general is much brighter. The Molecular Multi-Nutrient Day Cream is a multi-tasking daytime moisturizer which helps reduce imperfections and reduce stress-breakouts. This moisturizer is THE PERFECT amount of hydration for my skin! It has made my skin SO soft and so smooth! It gives me a subtle glow that looks so natural- not greasy or oily at all (which a lot of other moisturizers have done 🥺). This one is just so perfect! I can apply makeup over it and it looks so good! Overall, I’m super happy with both of these products and I’m so glad that I’ve started using Allies of Skin. I’ve noticed overall less acne, less hyperpigmentation, and healthier, glowier skin. I would 10/10 recommend both of these products. If you’re interested in the brand, I definitely think you should try their products! The price point is a little higher but they are SO worth it! #CherieCreator

Undecided on cult favorite
I am still up in the air on how I like this “well loved” serum. For me, the first time I started using it I noticed breakouts. So I held off and gave it another try. Again, with some small breakouts. Now, here I am going to give it a third try as it claims to be a very clean formula and is packed full of “superstar” ingredients. I just don’t want to give up on it. The previous times I tested it my skin was very sensitive and I was dealing with other stressors in life which could cause the breakouts. Now I feel ready to give it a chance once again and hoping it won’t let me done. If not, I gave it a fair go and time to put it to rest... What is for: Dullness and uneven skin tone Rough skin texture Wrinkles, fine lines, sagging Dehydrated skin (Alicia's Tip: dehydrated skin lacks moisture. Oily skin types can have dehydrated skin, too) Redness, inflammation Ingredients: Peach Extract: full of vitamins, minerals, and essential fatty acids to help keep skin resilient Niacinamide: helps quell inflammation, brighten and provide antioxidative benefits Asian Mountain Yam Extract: dramatically helps to reduce flakiness Madecassoide: derived from Centella Asiatica Extract, it helps curb inflammation and stimulate collagen production Hyaluronic Acid Complex: a proprietary blend of short-chain, medium-chain and long-chain hyaluronic acid molecules that moisturizes every layer of skin, leaving it hydrated, plumped and radiant Peptide Complex: a proprietary blend of peptides that signals collagen production, helping fill fine lines and deeply-etched wrinkles, while firming skin for a smoother, glassier appearance #CherieCreator
PEACH & LILY-Glass Skin Refining Serum
florence by mills Super Serum - Anti-Polution Fluid with 10% Vitamin C If you are looking for a new and gentle Vit C that gives you that glowingskin serum look no further🙌 For me this the best Vit C serum to date that I have used. Its a bright yellow colour and quite runny in texture. I have been using it for about a month now and I could say this serum is just made in heaven. Its really hydrating and moisturising, so if you are on the oily side you can even use it as a morning moisturiser. My sensitive skin loves it, it does not sting, it calms inflammation and just feels gorgeous and luxurious. The first time I have applied was a wow moment, as you feel like you just went for a proper facial. It’s full of hydration and moisture 🌚 🌸What it does: -helps skin to protect itself from environmental and UV damage -hydrates and nourishes -balances oil production -brightens 🌸Interesting Ingredients: Pequi Oil - anti-inflammatory and healing Ginkgo Biloba - flavonoid, antioxidant, anti-inflammatory Plantain - antibacterial and anti-inflammatory Liquorice root - brightens and anti-inflamatory Dandelion Leaf - powerful antioxidant Marshmallow Root - plumping, calming, anti redness Calendula leaf - anti-fungal, antiseptic, astringent properties. Tetrahexyldecyl Ascorbate (Vitamin C) Ascorbyl Glucoside Ubiquinone (Co-enzyme Q10) Hyaluronic Acid Astaxanthin-the red micro algae (antioxidant) Rosemary Antioxidant - anti-microbial and anti-bacterial benefits. There is more goodness tho😏😏 This is not an AD as I have purchased this on my own.
A. FLORENCE SKINCARE-30ML SUPER SERUM ANTI-POLLUTION FLUID WITH 10% VITAMIN C
I’ve been loving these products and have been using them almost daily in my skincare routine! I can’t live with out my COSRX - Cosrx Acne Pimple Master Patch because they flatten pretty much any pimple overnight. OBSESSED. The FIRST AID BEAUTY - Facial Radiance Pads have also been a godsend in trying to clear my obnoxious breakouts I’ve been having. I’m also pretty stoked on the Kate Somerville - Kx Active Concentrates Bio-Mimicking Peptides Serum because it seems to be helping in keeping my skin glowy and smooth. ✨
Heartleaf Houttynia Treatment Serum Review I wasn't sure what was it going to do as well as I didn't have much expectations. But oh wow literally it really clears my skin from textural impurities while making my skin tone even and radiant, even my redness fades aways (not too much but it still does). I used it once a day for over a month now and I am really enjoying the moisturising feeling it gives. The additional benefit that I have noticed that within my routine it helps to clear scars. 🌿The key ingredient is a mysterious Heartleaf Houttynia plant extract. Which is supposed to calm skin and treat problematic skin (not only sensitivity but acne and such), as well as controls sebum production. Other ingredients are: 🌿Centella asiatica extract (treats and moisturises) 🌿Rosmarinus officinalis (Rosemary) leaf oil (calming and treating) I love both these ingredients as they work for my skin. I loved that the ingredient list is was just about to be three lines, which is great for sensitive skin. The only downside for me was its alcohol smell, which you can smell straight from the bottle. Which isn't surprising as its very high up on the ingredient list. It doesn't cause any problems for my skin which is sensitive and rosacea prone. But if you are hyper sensitive this wouldn't be my first choice of a serum.
