Skincyclopediayes! i love maybelline fit-me (either matte or pro glow!) & instant age rewind for drugstore foundation/concealer, or the color pop foundation/concealer as well which is around the same price point! Elf putty primer is also really great for a primer, and milani has killer blushes/highlights! :)

New Year's day glam 🎉✨
Happy New Year everyone!! I hope that 2021 is so much better than 2020 (even though I've had some good things happen) as far as the coronavirus and political tension in the US. Mini ulta haul with product tryouts!
I had a few Ulta gift cards burning a hole in my pocket so I decided to get a few new items to try out. The first item I’ve been dying to try is URBAN DECAY - All Nighter Long-Lasting Makeup Setting Spray I wanted to see if it’s worth the hype/price tag. I like this product, but I’d like to use it a few more times. I’m going to do another post next month comparing several different setting sprays to see how the compare. The next item I used is the MILANI - Cheek Kiss Blush in shade cheeky coral. I like the shade and it wears nicely. But I did have to layer it to get the color payoff I was looking for. I also got another cult favorite, PHYSICIANS FORMULA - Murumuru Butter Bronzer I absolutely love this product. I love the texture, the smell, the finish. It’s all great, absolutely worth the price. And the last is another eye shadow pallet from profusion! #Profusion Cosmetics - Starlet palette[products]#[FourStars] I love this palette, although the shimmer shades need a wet brush to be impactful. What other make up productions would you like to try out?

Skin tint comparison 🧐
Hey guys! I thought I'd do a post comparing all of the lightweight foundations I own (@dewybabyrequested and it was a great idea 😊) - these are my skin tints, lightweight foundations, and my tinted moisturizer. laura mercier - Tinted Moisturizer Natural Skin Perfector Broad Spectrum SPF30 in 1C0 cameo - it's coverage is very light but it's pretty hydrating and wears well. It's also buildable and I like to mix it with other foundations that need a base - I've used this product as my primer/base and it's nice. It's $47 at Sephora DIOR - BACKSTAGE Face & Body Foundation in 1 CR - I know it's a medium foundation, but because it's thinner than most foundations / pump ones, I thought it should be included plus it's a squeeze bottle as well, like skin tints. It's $40 at Sephora COVERGIRL - Clean Fresh Skin Milk Foundation in shade 510 - in my opinion, it's not horrible, but I also don't love it. I feel like I need to use a lot and the coverage isn't that good - it's more of a light coverage, plus I give it 3/5 stars because it's kind of difficult to build up coverage. It's $10 at Target Glossier. - Perfecting Skin Tint in shades G10, 11, & 12 - these are pretty great for that "no makeup makeup look"; they're easy to apply, and are bery buildable. My only reason for the 4/5 stars is that they don't have shades for undertones and their range needs to be extended from 12 shades to at least 18 or 20 (like 24 would probably be good). It's $26 at Glossier by itself & is in quite a few sets as well
Current faves! ❤️
Here's my current faves for January that are makeup and skincare products: GARNIER - SkinActive Micellar Cleansing Water All-in-1 Cleanser & Makeup Remover - I'm so surprised at how well makeup comes off using this! It's amazing and I didn't have an allergic reaction to it (typically makeup removers cause me to break out or make my face red, hot and blotchy) L'ORÉAL - Voluminous Lash Paradise Mascara in 201 black - I've been loving this mascara lately because it doesn't clump like crazy, it lengthens my lashes really well, and is so inexpensive!! HERO COSMETICS - Mighty Patch Duo - I've used the original ones twice on some pretty big pimples and just a few hours later they were ready to pop! Also, I wore them during the day and tbh they aren't really that noticeable, maybe it's because of my skin tone & how the color of the patches is similar. They also stay on pretty well and really do the trick. Glossier. - Balm Dotcom in fig - I absolutely love this flavor and it's definitely the one I reach for the most. I've heard mixed reviews about it, and as someone who hasn't even tried a fig, I now want to try one. (the flavor probably isn't the exact same but that's ok) MARC JACOBS BEAUTY - O!Mega Bronzer Coconut Perfect in 102 tantric - this is my favorite bronzer ever and it's such a great value, because you get so much product. It's buildable, smooth, and smells so good!! NOTE: if you tap this item, it'll say that it's $65, which it's not! It's on sale for $34 at Sephora ($49 originally) DIOR - BACKSTAGE Face & Body Foundation in 1 cool rosy - I love this foundation and I've been reaching for it lately because of how smooth and buildable it is. ARMANI beauty - Luminous Silk Foundation in 3.75 - great coverage, super smooth, and really easy to blend out. One thing I do find when I use this foundation is that I need 2 pumps in order to get it to cover my whole face. It's not something super concerning, but I find some foundations go farther and I don't mind using 2 pumps tbh.
The Truth Behind Designer Makeup ✨
There’s nothing quite like the call of high end luxury makeup ✨ Opulent packaging, fancy names, and beautiful product lines are hard to resist. Though once you look beyond the packaging designer products don’t tend to be innovative, unique, and often include ingredients that wreck your skin 🤷🏻♀️ I picked up DIOR - Backstage Face & Body Glow in the VIB sale earlier this year and was dying to use it over the course of the summer. I envisioned a golden glow coming from my lightly tanned arms and legs, and let me tell you that’s far from what I got. After my first few times using this product I decided to take a deep dive into the ingredients list. Alcohol, fragrances, and dyes were only a few of the ingredients I try to avoid in my makeup and skincare for obvious reasons 🧪 This product was drying, flakey, and patchy at best. That being said, I love the applicator of this product! The highlighter comes in a plastic bottle with a narrow tip so you can apply drops of the highlighter wherever you want. Since this is a face and body highlighter it is important to be able to dispense as much product as needed, especially if you’re highlighting a large area like you’re arms and legs. Will I be repurchasing - I don’t think so. This product isn’t the right colour for my cool skin tone and it’s far too drying. If the formula changed I would give it a chance, but I’m sure I can find a better face and body highlighter to give me the glow I’m looking for.
Natural Glow 2 Your Skin 🥰
love this face and body glow. I add a a drop or 2 to my moisturizer and it gives my skin a natural glow that lasts all day. This product is good for: someone who doesn’t wear makeup much and has a dull face, this helps skin gets out of that dullness; and for those who want to have a glow and dewy look to their makeup by just adding some to your foundation, but it won’t look wet looking which I find very nice. This product is sold at Sephora for 38 bucks but I think it’s definitely worth it. Plus, a little goes a long way; I only use a drop or two as I mentioned before. My favorite Blush & Highlighter for natural days
This is my favorite blush and highlighter combo for natural makeup days. The blush looks super natural on my skin and the highlighter just naturally enhances everything I want it too with that beautiful natural sparkle. Not much to explain just have to try it for yourself but I love how these products melt into your skin and are buildable. 10/10 recommended!
What I do to make my round face slimmer
Did you know that with the right methods and tricks, you can actually change your face shape to a very large extent? I have always had a complex about my round face and tend to use my hair to cover up my face. Nowadays, I have found the power of makeup and I’m excited to share the tips on how to make your round face slimmer! Face shape: Like I said before, I have a very round face. I have very large cheekbones and chubby cheeks, so my face looks like a lollipop. But with the help of highlighter and blush, I was able to fake a slim face! Method: highlight + blush position I have realised that if you apply highlighter correctly, it does an amazing job at shaping and slimming the face, even without shading. I tend to apply it on my nose bridge and nose tips, cupids bow and chin because it makes my face look so much more dimensional and actually adds depth to my face. So my face does not look flat and round anymore. I would apply only a light layer of highlighter on my cheekbones because I don’t want to enlarge them since they are big enough as it is and are what make my face look huge and round. Similarly with blush, if you choose a calm and deeper shade of blush and apply it on your cheekbones almost like shading, then it has a slimming effect. Sometimes shading might look too harsh or unnatural, but using a blush to shape your face is a much more natural and subtle way of shaping your face. Products: Fenty Beauty Killawatt Foil Freestyle Highlighter Duo + Benefit Dandelion Highlighter: This is by far my favourite highlighter! It does not provide a subtle glow but a very strong one which I absolutely adore. The colour payoff is amazing. It includes a golden tone and a bluish cold tone that is perfect for any skin tone. I am able to create many looks with this highlighter. Blush: Blush is my favourite part of the makeup and Dandelion is a keeper for me. It is in a very cute baby pink shade with gold shimmer that brightens up the complexion nicely. It gives me a lovely girl next door look. I also love the packaging, not only is it super cute but also it includes a small mirror and brush inside, which is very convenient to carry around. It comes in two sizes, for anyone that is budget conscious, I’d recommend the smaller size which is $25 that still lasts a long time even if I apply it almost everyday.

Fake Having Perfect Skin!
Hey Cherie Fam! 🍒 I am fortunate enough to receive Becca’s light shifter in a VoxBox from Influenster. I received the dewing tinted moisturizer in moondance and the finishing veil setting powder starhugger in exchange for my honest review. I have been using this duo for a few weeks now on my no makeup makeup days and I am loving it. The dewing tinted moisturizer is very sheer and buildable without looking cakey. However, even when you build it or can only provide so much coverage so if you’re looking that “made up look” this isn’t the right product for you. You can still see all my skin imperfections, but evens my skin out and gives it a radiant and luminous finish so it is pretty convincing that it is my natural skin. I have dry skin and this contains Hyaluronic acid and provides rapid hydration so this is perfect for me. BECCA - Light Shifter Dewing Tint Tinted Moisturizer The light shifter finishing veil setting powder is super weightless and gives a satin and luminous finish. The texture is ultra smooth and perfect setting powder to set a sheer coverage foundation or a tinted moisturizer. This is buildable and you can layer it without giving your skin that “powdery look”. This product and the light shifter tinted moisturizer helps me to trick my friends into thinking that I am genetically gifted and have perfect skin 🤪. On top of that, I love how it gives me that editorial glow and love the compact and cute packaging. BECCA - Light Shifter Finishing Veil Setting Powder The price for both items are pretty standard for a high end tinted moisturizer and setting powder. The tinted moisturizer retails for $30 while the setting powder retails for $34. What is your favorite complexion product for that no makeup makeup look? Xoxo, Francesca 💋 DISCLAIMER I was sent a complimentary sample in exchange for my honest review
How I Finally Achieved Glass Skin ✨
Hi Cherie Fam 🍒 I have been wanting Benefit’s new highlighter called cookie 🍪 but can’t justify spending $30 on a highlighter. I already have a drawer full of them and most highlighters look the same once applied to the skin. However, an opportunity to purchase dropped on my lap and I didn’t hesitate. One day I was window shopping on Ulta and saw that Benefit was having a sale on one of their face palettes. This palette comes with the Hoola bronzer (a classic and a must-have), 3 blush shades and it comes with the cookie highlighter! This palette contains 5 full sized products and it also comes with a brush. It is a $150 value, but retails for $60. I got this baby on sale for $36 USD. The cookie highlighter it self was $30 and this came with the Hoola bronzer and 3 blushes I’ve been wanting to try. I use this face palette on my no makeup makeup days. I only wear a setting powder and use a blush. I mix Sugar Bomb and Georgia 🍑. These blushes are not pigmented. They are almost sheer, but buildable...this is the formula that I want when it comes to no make up makeup look. The cookie 🍪 highlighter is the star of the show. I love the buttery formula and it really blends to the skin perfectly. It gives me a glassy skin look rather than a glitter and blinding look. No highlighter I own so far has been able to give me a glass skin look. I am so glad I got the face palette on sale! benefit - Benefit Cheek Stars Reunion Tour Full Size Palette Unfortunately, I don’t think this palette is on sale anymore. However, I still think it’s worth it. If you are looking for a bronzer and been wanting to try Hoola or any of the blushes in this palette, I think $60 is a fair price. Cookie 🍪 can be sold separately if you’re not interested in any of the shades in the face palette benefit - Cookie Powder Highlighter I found my new favorite highlighter 🥰✨ What tricks do you use to achieve the glass skin look? Xoxo, Francesca 💋
OMG 😱 This Setting Spray is Amazing
I am a setting sprays collector. I cannot say it works better than setting powders. More of a reason is that I really enjoy the whole experience of setting my face and whole makeup. I kinda feel like I am wearing a perfume like what they did in old movies. Back to the topic, I have tried different setting sprays in market from drugstore to high-end. Everything mainly distinguish a good spray is the nozzle. I know product formula and ingredients could be mainly the core advantage of a product, but as for setting sprays, the nozzle is the part that controls the mist for. Some of them feels like it spits at you with all these large droplets on your face and hair. And it just ruins your whole makeup. After trying different brands and products, Make Up Forever has the best nozzle and mist out of all the setting sprays in my collection. Surprisingly my top 2 favorite setting sprays are all from MUF. MAKE UP FOR EVER - Light Velvet Air Shine-Control Refreshing Spray It has the best applicator. The mist is very dewy and feels like a cloud. The formula on this is incredible. This is something that I am looking for when I want my makeup to be locked in tight through out the day. And especially when I am wearing a mask for a long time, it leaves my mask clean! At the same time, it also leaves the skin looks a little wet.You can also use this to damp your beauty blender before applying foundations to make it stay longer. Or on your brushes for eyeshadow to make the pigment more intense. MAKE UP FOR EVER - Mist & Fix Hydrating Setting Spray This setting spray, honestly, is a game-changer for me. This one I use it more of a skincare. This moisturized version feels so light and comfortable. It is not as strong as the other one in terms of setting makeup in place. This one makes my skin looks incredibly healthy all day long and it never greasy. It is a really stable product in my routine now. It is also a good on-the-go product for me to reach for when I feel like my skin needs a little bit of refresh in the middle of the day since I know that this spray is not going to add any sort of oiliness. It feels like adding more plump to my skin. It does a great job at refresh and hydrate my skin without messing it up. Both are fabulous products! Highly recommended
You Slept Late And Have An *In Person* Meeting!
Step One: Don’t forget that you stashed an emergency mask in your purse. Step Two: You Don’t Have Time For A Shower. Brush your teeth, wash your face, wear a scarf. Step Three: The Five Minute Make-Up Routine that will have you look has rested as a rose. Are roses rested? I was mainly going for alliteration there. Eyes: CLINIQUE - Chubby Stick Shadow Tint for Eyes in Amble Amber. Okay, whoever names these does a terrible job but I firmly believe that this line of no primer needed eyeshadow sticks is Clinique’s best product with a range of neutrals for many skin tones. ILIA - Limitless Lash Mascara Who did Ilia bribe to get the buzz they have gotten for this product? I poked myself at n the eye four times with the wand. I haven’t done that since The Terminator was governor of California. Ridiculous. Returning it this week. Pat McGrath, I’ll never leave you again! PS I seem to be allergic to it. bareMinerals - Complexion Rescue Tinted Moisturizer Broad Spectrum SPF 30 in Opal Good buildable coverage. Stays put once it dries down. Gives me a nice glow. I am almost at empty! Yay me! I love how it makes me look so refreshed and like I am not wearing makeup. erborian - BB Crayon Concealer & Touch-Up Stick in Clair. Getting a new under eye concealer this week. Any thoughts? CHANTECAILLE - Philanthropy Cheek Shade in Emotion. The product is hard to get out of the pan but it has a great texture. MAKE UP FOR EVER - Mist & Fix Hydrating Setting Spray Smells awfu, works well. No lipstick because we are venturing into the world of masks! Good luck at your meeting with your boss’s boss!
Natural Foundation with Chanel, YSL & Too Faced
When I want a natural look, I love using a skin tint. Chanel’s Les Beiges Water Fresh Tint is great for that. It’s expensive, but one or two pumps should suffice. I like to apply it with my hands before going in with a dense buffing brush to get rid of any streaking. I love that it looks and feels like skin. CHANEL - Les Beiges Water-Fresh Tint I’ve been loving using the Too Faced BTW Concealer on the inner portion of my under eye because I have a super light color that’s great for brightening. While it’s too light to use on my entire undereye, it does an excellent job of fixing that inner corner darkness that I always get. I also find it can look a bit dry when used on the whole undereye, but it’s perfect on the inner corner area! Too Faced - Born This Way Super Coverage Multi-Use Concealer For the rest of the eye area, I used the YSL Touche Eclat High Cover concealer. It’s super creamy and lightweight and does a great job concealing. I wouldn’t say it’s full coverage, but it’s a much higher coverage than the original Touche Eclat concealer pen. YVES SAINT LAURENT - Touche Eclat High Cover Radiant Undereye Concealer Pen
Brand spotlight:Laura Mercier
I am a royal fan of Laura Mercier. The brand is famous for its “flawless face”. My friend recommended this brand to me few years ago and brought a foundation for me from Malaysia. Iwas impressed by its coverage ability. This brand has skin-enhancing foundations, buildableconcealers and finishing loose set powders. I have tried some of the brand products and would like to introduce my fav and least fav products. [Brand: Laura Mercier] My favorite:Laura Mercier Flawless Fusion Ultra-Longwear Foundation Size: 30MLColor: 1N1Price: 77 AUD I have tried several types of foundation over the years from NARS to Make up for ever, from light to full coverage. This foundation is the best I have ever used. It provides all-day buildable coverage with minimal product but never looks “cakey”. It is easy to apply even with my finger and looks natural on my skin. It has a matter finish and control my T zone where I get shiny easily. I recommend mixing the foundation with primer to make application smoother and imperfections can be perfectly minimized. I have finished two bottles of this. My face feels light and breathable after using it. It really makes my face very luminous and natural with color 1N1. My least favorite product:Laura Mercier secret concealer Size: 2.2gColor: 1Price: 45 AUD This product provides good coverage for a whole day. Normally I used it with my finger and the product, and it can melt smoothly on my face. It can cover my imperfections and blemishes perfectly while it also matching my skin. The color I chose can naturally cover my dark circle. It brightens my under-eyes area. Although this product applies creamy, it is still too dry for myeye. It results into cracks after applying. I recommend using it with Laura mercer translucent loose setting powder, avoiding the cracking and drying look.

My go-to everyday makeup-only Colourpop products
Today I want to share my go-to makeup that I usually do when I only need to go outside for class or shopping. And I am going to do this look using only Colourpop products. I think you can use anything you like and this is really easy to create. This look is like a cute and dewy makeup that emphasizes blush and glowy lips. Besides, I only use the Rocket Volume waterproof mascaras from Maybelline in recent years, so I will still use this one in this look. After sunscreen, I apply the No filter stix foundation-Fair 25w on my face and do double layers on dark circles, and then blend it with a beauty blender. This color is for fair skin with yellow undertones, and the coverage is pretty good but not thick or dry. Since it costs only $10, I really love it. Then I am going to apply the blush. I am using a blush stick called Pretty Thing, which is a dusty raspberry color. I will use the beauty blender to get the product and then apply on my face, in case I destroy my foundation. It is quite sheer, so I will apply for several layers on my cheeks and nose. The next step is bronzer, highlighter and eyeshadow. I use the Pressed Powder Bronzer-Privite Party and Pressed Powder Highlighter-Here Kitty Kitty. These powders are really blendable and only $7 each for a lot products. For my eyes, I will apply the bronzer in my crease and my outer corners, also underneath my eyes, then using highlighter in my inner corners and eyelids. The last step is applying lips. I use the Just a Tint lip crayon named Cherry Pickin, which is a sheer honey nude lipstick for $8. It is comfy, hydrating, and smells like candy. I will also use it as a lip balm sometimes. The whole look will cost only 10 mins and $40, which is really natural and affordable. I hope you enjoy it! COLOURPOP - No Filter Foundation Stix

Super affordable products I love! My go to glam look using products less than $10?! They’re super blendable and look great on the skin and in photos too ❤️❤️ true drugstore holy grails 🙏

All in One Makeup Palette: Juvia’s Place Blush P
The appeal of a single makeup palette that be used for all of your makeup needs is universal. Whether you're a busy person who wants a quick, simple, and compact makeup solution for every day, or someone who really wants good value for money, a good all-in-one face palette can be your best partner in crime. The Saharan Blush Palette Volume II Juvia's Place is a great brand offering high-quality makeup products that cater to a very diverse range of skin tones. The Juvia's Place product line is inclusive and very reasonably priced. Juvia’s Place currently has two blush palette's availalble, The Saharan Blush Palette Volume I, which is most suitable for medium to dark skin tones, and Volume II, which is most suitable for light to medium dark skin tones. Each palette has six unique blush shades in a soft powder formula. The Saharan Blush Palette Volume II is a great multi-purpose powder palette for more than just your cheeks. In fact, I find it to be one of the best all-in-one face palettes I've ever owned, offering great pigment, soft texture, and long wear time. How to Use the Palette for Your Whole Face I use this palette everyday for makeup looks that are easy to create and still very effective at enhancing my best features. The russet brown shade, Yara, is very warm and highly pigmented. I use this shade on the perimeters of my face as a bronzer. For a simple, monochrome look that lifts the cheeks, I bring the bronze shade towards the apples of my cheeks, and use it all over my eyelids to define my eyes. This is the simplest and quickest look you can create with this palette. The palette sports three shades which I use for blush: Bee (a mauvey purple), Leena (a bright bubblegum pink), and Tau (a muted red). I use these shades as blush to add lift and colour to my face, and as matte eyeshadow shades. The two metallic shades in the palette are Zoba, a duachrome rosey gold colour, and Sola, a stunning metallic fuschia shade. The pink, purple, and red shades can be used in a similar way as above. When I want to create a brightly-coloured look in just a few minutes, I use the pink Leena shade as a transition/crease colour, then swipe metallic shades Zoba and Sola over the inner and outer portions of my lid, respectively. I put Zoba on my cheeks, too, as a highlighter. My advice for Zoba, though, is that it is more suited to light to medium complexions as a highlighter. On my very fair skin, it can be a bit dark. As an eyeshadow, though, it is gorgeous. Pro Tip: Match your lip colour to your eye makeup by some lip balm on your lips, and lightly tapping a blush shade over the top. The Ultimate All-in-One Face Palette I believe that The Saharan Blush Palette's are some of the best on the market, as far as value for money, pigment, and staying power are concerned. The palette's are perfect for beginners with makeup, people who want quick and easy makeup looks, or who are looking for one palette to answer all their wishes.
