Acrylics Saved My Nails and Skin!
I’ve been a chronic nail biter and skin picker since childhood, mostly during times of stress. I would enjoy bouts of not biting my nails or picking, but the moment a stressful situation would hit I just couldn’t break the habit of taking to destroying both. I had acrylics in the past, but only for special events. Earlier in the year I read about others’ success with them for breaking the habit of nail biting, and thought I could give it a go— I had nothing to lose, after all, and at least my hands would be gorgeous for the time period I committed to, which ended up being a starting point of three months. In this time, I wouldn’t let myself pick or bite the acrylic, or peel the nails off. I managed to find a sublime nail artist and continued to go back for these three months. A good nail artist is key, as my nails stayed on and didn’t break or peel off harming my natural nails. Early on I lost the want to bite my nails, acrylics are hard and unpleasant. It also especially helped that they were so pretty, and found it really helped to break the habit I was hoping for because I didn’t want to destroy the art either. However, I didn’t expect it to also help with my chronic skin picking. Natural nails are thin and sharp. Acrylic nails are thicker than natural nails, and these thicker edges makes it physically hard to pick skin. Because of this, I spent less time absentmindedly picking or sitting in front of the mirror. Of course I tried, but it simply didn’t work and I would just give up. Eventually, I found myself doing it less and less until I was able to go days without even thinking of picking my skin. For those who suffer from skin picking (aka dermatillomania), acrylic or dip nails are a game changer and are definitely worth a try.

Perfect Summer Pedicure - H&M Review
Girls! It’s time to get your pedicures done for this Summer! Basically I would do the same thing as I do to my nails ( you can check the previous video) Here are a few hack I want to share with you guys when during pedicures at home #1. Cleaning the underneath of your nail #2. Use a separator. It is kinda hard to control our toes comparing with fingers, and we want to make sure that it is nice and clean. A separator really helps and makes a different #3. I like to use a cotton stick with removers to clean the edges to get the perfect look. These are the tips I found really helpful when doing nails at home whether it’s gel or nail polish. Following these steps would help you to apply the paint easier and to get the instantly professional finish. The nail Polish I am using here is from H&M. I love this nail polish. Color- Masala Chai. Actually the whole line of H&M nail polishes are superior. The color is amazing and the texture is even better than many professional brands. It applies easily and dries quickly. I normally go with 3 layers but this one I found 2 is fair enough. This big shinny top coat is also one of my favorite nail polishes that creates the salon finish and shine. I also like the fact that I only need one coat. Sally Hansen - Mega Shine Extended Top Coat Top coat would help the shine and also helps to protect the nails from getting dirty especially you go with light colors. White nails are probably what I have for the entire Summer. It looks clean and chic and it goes with any look or shoes.

Pastel color nail art | so cute 💕
I have to say I love this nail look! Purple, pearl and pepple combined to convey a message of vitality and elegance. I get this nail when weather gets warmer and spring approaches. Unlike extravagant nail looks, this one is super natural and makes me feel back to my teens. This gives people a sense of warmness and delight. The shape is squoval cuz my nail was born that way. I got this one done in a beauty store. It cost 💲20. Maybe the price is not a good one but I’m gonna tell you my reason for getting my nail done in beauty stores. Customer experience matters Book in advance, hang out with my friends and go into a nail shop to get a new nail. This whole process is all about feeling and emotions. Changing a nail with friends is good to enhance friendship and kill time. Professional service provided I’m not a skilled nail maker so I prefer to get it done by others. Paying for professional service is what it needs to get a wonderful nail. When I got this nail done, I communicated my need (to impress others with warmness in spring) to the nail maker, she instantly gave me some advice ( for example, to add some pearl or other accessories on my nail). I felt less lost and quick to get what I wanna get. More choices When I do my nail at home, I tend to apply the same nail gel over and over again. This kills my creativity. Plus, sometimes some gel colors are only used little. It would be a waste to buy a bottle just to get my design done. This nail look is done using the techniques of applying gel and polishing. The whole process lasts for 2 hours and I change my nails according to my emotions and weather.
Retail worker approved nails! 🖤
I work a full time retail job right now which makes wearing nail polish almost impossible. Just on truck day alone between unloading, sorting, and putting out product it can real havoc on the nails. Then you add in planograms (pretty much how you see things displayed in stores that includes everything from shelf placement, graphic strips, and products), tasking, and other odd jobs around the store it makes nail polish chip immediately. This is the only way I ever put on nail polish anymore because it works best for me. Step 1: Base Coat I always use a base coat! Base coats are almost the make up primers of the nail world. They help create a smooth base and insure your polish applies better. It also prevents the polish from staining your nails. When your polish chips constantly it’s important, to me, to not have that staining as you get really embarrassed when pointing things out to people and hoping they don’t see your stained nails. Currently I’m using the OPI - Infinite Shine Prostay Primer which applies clear and dries within a minute which I like because I get very impatient when painting my nails. Step 2: Polish I’ve used a lot of nail polish over the years but the brand I always find myself going back to is OPI. Between their color range, opacity, and how well they apply it’s just been a favorite. Currently I am using OPI - Long Lasting Nail Polish because I obviously have not put grown my emo phase 😂 You could get away with one coat if you really wanted but I tend to do two coats for full opacity. I’m very messy when it comes to painting my nails so I always have a cap full of nail polish remover and a pointed cue tip on hand to clean up the edges. I also always cap my nail polish by running the brush along the tip to help prevent chipping. The Infinite Shine line by OPI gives your nails a beautiful glossy look to them which I like. Step 3: Top Coat When I say you have to run out and buy this top coat I mean you have to run out and buy this top coat. I’ve tried so many over the years which have done nothing when it comes to chipping. I was watching Taylor Wynn on YouTube one day and she recommended the Seche - Gel Effect Top Coat and I fell in love. This creates a gel base over your nails that is very fast drying and you don’t need a lamp to cure it. It almost feels like a little protective bubble that encases your nails when you apply it. The picture I posted of my nails is over a week of having my nail polish on. Except for a chip in the middle from truck there have been very minimal chipping. Pretty much all you see is the regrowth on the bottom. I was absolutely shocked at how well this has kept my nail polish on. Usually at this point in the wear time I’ve started picking at the polish because it’s more than halfway gone. This gel top coat has reached holy grail status and I highly recommend this product to anyone!

Key to long nails
While I think my “ability” to grow really long, strong natural nails is largely due to my diet and hormones, there are some tips I want to share that can benefit anyone. -a mineral-rich diet, including lots of vegetables like kale and spinach for calcium, calcium supplements if needed (you can get yummy chocolate flavored chews) and honestly this my hack- tap water. Where I live, the coty is basically built over a bed of limestone which is known to be a good source of caliated rock, and I think that affects the water supply, so I get even more calcium in my diet. 😈 -this may be a no brainer- but pinch with your fingers- not your nails. I feel like we all know this, but for so long I was picking this up with my nails, and just applying too much pressure on my nails when cleaning for example. Channel that pressure into your fingertips and your nails will break much less. -I find that rounding my nails or giving them an almond shape makes less round for breakage too. When theyre squared and have corners, I always found hitting them against a surface would break the nail at its corner, so when I gave my nails softer edges this stopped happening. -lastly, i use an amazing top coat- essie - No Chips Ahead Top Coat it’s seriously amazing at strengthening your nails and keeping them hard as rocks (or nails if you like the pun) and is largely why I think my nails dont break, and are able to grow longer. I use this too coat over top of all my nail polish looks, and even if I’m not wearing any nail polish, I’ll still apply this as a clear coat. Let me know of other wqys you grow your nails, I hate when mine break 😭 #cheriepartner
