Things I actually repurchased this month!
So I love to do product reviews and empties updates, but this time I wanted to actually show what I repurchased this month. I find that consistency has been really good, for my skin especially, lately and sometimes choosing products that you know will work feels like a more worthy purchase as times. So I’m just going to share each of the products and why I love them! None of these products will be a surprise to you all.. cuz I feel like I talk about them all the time but oh well 😬 Benzagel - Acne Wash Benzagel. Take my money. I love this face wash so so much. I owe my clear (well mostly clear) skin to this product. I can’t go a day without it. It’s gentle, but effective at keeping acne away and it’s so affordable. I restock this product pretty regularly at the drugstore. It might be my #1 most repurchased product. BIODERMA - Sensibio H2O Soothing Micellar Cleansing Water It’s my favourite (and I think the best) micellar water. I go through multiple bottles every year. It’s non-irritating, leaves no residue and helps get off any type of mascara. This is a fan favourite for a reason. Plus if you buy the two packs it’s a pretty good price. indeed LABORATORIES - Hydraluron Moisture Jelly This has been a go-to moisturizer for me ever since the weather for a little bit colder. It’s lightweight, but pretty moisturizing. It has the cutest pump at the top that you press to get the product out. The only downside to this is you don’t get a ton of product for the price point. Mitchum - Advanced Control Solid Anti-Perspirant Deodorant, Pure Fresh Okay, I know it might seem weird to review a deodorant but... I don’t care. It’s effective and lasts all day long. This is really the only deodorant that I use now! The scent is light and fresh but fairly subtle so you’re not overwhelmed by the smell. It does leave white marks if you’re not careful, just a warning. essie - ⁣essie Quick Dry Nail Polish This one is a cheat... because I repurchased this but in a new colour! I have been loving the pink shade I have and use it almost every single week. I just love how easy and quick it is. It seriously takes me like 10-15 mins to paint and dry my nails. So now that it’s fall I had to buy this cute dark red colour too. indeed LABORATORIES - Hydraluron + Volumising Lip Treatment This has become a big go-to lip balm for me. It’s perfect to throw in your purse or pocket. I find it very moisturizing and has saved my chapped lips. It’s perfect for everyday use and I think it’s definitely worth the price. The only con is I love when products are a little more buttery and this feels a little thicker and even a little sticky. LANEIGE - LANEIGE Lip Sleeping Mask This mask is so buttery, moisturizing and it just feels luxurious. This little tub lasts forever, I think it’s definitely worth the price point. I use it every night and I wake up with smooth lips. 💋

My skincare products and routine : any thoughts?
Hi loves, so even though I already have a pretty good routine for my skin, I feel like I still have so much to learn and therefore maybe other adjustments to do with my habits to really have a good and effective routine for my skin! Here’s what I usually do : (this is for someone who has combination skin; the t-zone gets oily, other parts tend to be dry and sometimes even sensitive; i never had major acne too so i wouldn’t label myself as “acne-prone skin” type of gal🤷🏻‍♂️) 1) CLEANSE : I wash my face with the acne wash by Benzagel Benzagel - Acne Wash ** If I run out of product : I use another cleanser from Alya alya skin. - Foaming Micellar Cleanser *** After one of the products listed here, I use the cleansing butter from Wishful to remove excess oils/makeup before anything else! HUDA BEAUTY - Clean Genie Makeup Removing Cleansing Balm 2) EXFOLIATE/SCRUB : I exfoliate my skin (1-2 times a week) with Wishful products HUDA BEAUTY - Yo Glow Facial Enzyme Scrub 3) Tone : I’m still pretty new to the “skincare” world and I never toned my skin up until today so feel free to suggest/recommend me products you tried and/or heard of that were good, that’d be great 👼🏻💓 4) Essence : I use to put some of the serums of L’Occitane en Provence to replace the essence I still don’t have! Then again, feel free to suggest me products you think would work!! Thanks 💓 5) Serum : I ran out of the product itself but usually I was using (like mentioned before) L’Occitane en Provence’s serum and it really felt nice on my skin! L'OCCITANE - Peony Perfecting Essence 5.1) Serum #2 : I can also switch with L'OCCITANE - Immortelle Overnight Reset Oil-in-Serum 6) Moisturize : I’m using Wishful’s product called HUDA BEAUTY - Honey Balm Jelly Moisturizer and it really feels nice on my skin! 7) Sunscreen : Right after moisturizing my skin, it’s recommended to directly apply sunscreen on top of the moisturizer of Wishful (or HUDA BEAUTY) LA ROCHE-POSAY - Anthelios XL Lotion SPF 60 8) Oil : Even though I had the sample version of the actual thing, I’m currently working with L’Occitane en Provence’s youth oil, which leaves my skin shiny and cute 🥰 L'OCCITANE - Immortelle Divine Youth Oil 9) Eye cream (or gel): Apparently it’d be nice for me to use some eye cream (based on the analysis that Cherie provides me) but I’m not currently using and not so sure of which products I should/shouldn’t be using! Then again, if you know any good stuff that’d work perfectly with my type of skin, let me know in the comments!! That’s all for me, I know I don’t have the perfect skincare routine but I’m ready to consider any constructive feedback on the thing(s) I could try/do/change to improve it! Thanks, have a good one 💓

Favourite acne scarring fading products?
2 years ago I had successes with COSRX - Advanced Snail 96 Mucin Power Essence and The Ordinary - Vitamin C Suspension 23% + HA Spheres 2% to fade mild acne scarring. More recently this year I had a bad breakout (see my profile for pictures) which left me with a lot of scarring, more than I’ve ever had in my life 🥺 so now I’m looking for something a bit stronger. I have tried PAULA'S CHOICE - Resist C15 Super Booster before my breakout, but I believe this was one of the causes of my breakouts so I’m hesitant to try this again, at least until my skin barrier is fuller recovered. The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% works well with my skin but I feel results are slow. Maybe I’m impatient 😅 I have not tried Melano CC Intensive Anti-Spot Treatment Essence, DRUNK ELEPHANT - C-Firma Vitamin C Day Serumor SUNDAY RILEY - C.E.O. Glow Vitamin C and Turmeric Face Oil yet due to the nature and stability of vitamin C, I’d like to try 1 product at a time. Have you tried these products? Let me know what results you’ve gotten with these products! Or feel free to share any products not listed here that worked for your skin!

PROTECTION FROM MASKNE
Thankfully I don’t need to be going out much during this whole pandemic after being moved to WFH! However I know someone many of y’all do and have to be out for long hrs and therefore are not struggling with the new term maskne😷 MASKNE: acne cause by wearing your mask for long periods of time/ dirty masks my suggestions would be to ensure you do have some clean masks to use when it comes to prevention or even testing the current maskne you may have 👌🏽 But if you do suffer from maskne and need some products to help take care of it for you, I gotchu! 💕 COSRX - Advanced Snail 96 Mucin Power Essence This product is the second one I have and it’s because of the hydrating properties this essence has! It’s a thick gel formula so it’s more like a serum but it’s perfect to help with hydration, targets acne, dry skin, scarring and helps overall brighten the skin so this sun perfect for any irritation FARMACY - Honeymoon Glow Serum AHAs are great for those surface level issues and acne you maybe facing now! This is a great serum to add into your night time routine🌛 try using this 2-3 a week and ensure you always follow it up with SPF the next day to make sure your skin doesn’t getting any darker from any acne marks or irritate the acne any further Essentially this is supposed to help heal the acne itself, resurface, hydrate and clarify dull skin while you sleep and it really does! SUMMER FRIDAYS - Jet Lag Mask finally my favourite mask ever and I only use this as an overnight mask! I would recommend using a heavy moisturizer like this only in the evening and ensure that you apply this generously to help seal in all the work you did! I love this to help heal my skin overnight but don’t over do it with this product if you are sensitive to fragrance so ensure you use this maybe in the nights you chemically exfoliate to soothe any potential irritation 👍🏽 these three products have been for sure helping me out with any acne I do end up having had I keep buying them over and over again because they work! 🥰 #cheriepartner

#1 DERM ADVICE EVERYONE NEEDS👍🏽
for someone who has been dealing with acne for over 10 years, I’ve visited my fair share of derms and have done my own research through the web to find out more about ingredients and such to get my skin feeling and looking beautiful but also making sure it’s healthy 👌🏽 SWIPE👉🏽 to see me skin now vs a year ago 😛 So every single time anyone gives advice when it comes to have amazing skin is always about SPF! Sun protection is the #1 thing we all (girls & boys) regardless of skin concerns or skin types, everyone needs to find a good sunscreen to use!🌞 here are some reasons for sun protection and why it’s the most important skincare tip out there🤗 UV rays are some of the worst damage that can be done to your skin overtime and can lead to permanent damage to the skin Make sure to use a sunscreen everyday (365 days) regardless of if you are inside, outside, it’s raining or snowing, there is not sun etc. ( this has personally helped me a TON with my hyperpigmention from my acne) SPF helps make sure your skin is perfected to ensure the other products you do use to target things like fine lines, wrinkles, dull skin, hyperpigmention and acne actually works for you. Without using an SPF, you compromise the strength and integrating of all the expensive products you buy to help with your targeted skin concerns it OFC lowers your chance of skin cancer which is the most common form of cancer in the USA (legit just wear spf, like it’s not hard and this is super preventable) the best form of anti aging out there is a good SPF protecting you from both UVA & UVB so what are you waiting for? I’m sure we all want smooth skin but healthy skin is super important snd SPF is crucial for any kind of skin and all skin concerns 💕 also.... here are my two favourites! PURITO - Centella Green Level Safe Sun a great lightweight moisturizer; perfect for acne prone and oily skin types and melinated skin as this has NO white cast! COSRX - Aloe Soothing Sun Cream SPF50 PA+++ Great but this one isn’t better then the other as it has a SLIGHT white cast in the beginning and it’s not as hydrating as the purito one. If you like more of a matter finish to the skin, you will love this! Also non irritating at all! So that a plus for oily and sensitive skin #cheriepartner

August Empties
Some products that I emptied this month and a mini review of each of them!! 💚 Whats a recent empty of yours? 💚 @cosrx Advanced Snail 96 Mucin Power Essence was really thick essence that helped hydrate my skin. I didn’t see much of a difference with my acne scars, but it softened and plumped my skin. It was an overall good product that improved the way my skin looked! 💚 @purito_official green level centella buffet serum has become one of my favourite serums! It was so good at hydrating and repairing the skin. The texture is nice and hydrating but it absorbs into the skin really well. I noticed that this soothed my skin and overall my skin just felt healthier. Will definately be repurchasing! 💚 @origins Hello, Calm mask contains cannabis sativa seed oil which is an antioxident that helps to soothe the skin. Although I didn’t find this mask to be super moisturizing, it really calmed and soothed  my skin. I was able to use this on my most sensitive days without any irritation. 💚 @cosrx Aloe Soothing Sun Cream is one of my favourite sunscreens. This is a really gentle and moisturizing sunscreen. I think this would be a great winter sunscreen! It is a chemical sunscreen so there is no white cast and is SPF 50 PA +++. It is very hydrating so I would reccomend for dry skin. 💚 @sioris_official Time is Running Out mist is a toner and oil blend that helps to deeply hydrate the skin. I really liked using this in my morning routine for my toner and serum step which really helped me cut down on steps. I did not find this product to be greasy or sticky but it still gave a really nice glow!

my favorite serums!☺️
hello everyone! today i am sharing three of my favorite serums that i use everyday. i have done more in depth reviews on both the face milk and the niacinamide if you are interested, but here are some quick reviews of my three favorite serums☺️ personally i have very oily, acne prone skin, and i have really terrible acne scars on one prt of my face. ive had a very hard time controlling my acne, but these serums help. my acne scars are only getting worse though, so my mom might have me go to a dermatologist 😐 anyways, these products do do a lot of great things for all skin types! my favorite of the three is The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% ! this product is really affordable, i think its about $7. i cant afford much else, nor do i u understand why people would pay $30+ for nearly the same exact forumula😂 this product is made with 10% niacinamide, which is a really great ingredient for acne. this has minimized my pores SIGNIFICANTLY, and has reduced my redness as well. it helps control my oil, and has helped heal my less-severe acne marks fast. it feels like a watery gel, and absorbs really fast!💧 this product is also great for older people, as it helps reduce fine lines and wrinkles! next is my Fourth Ray - Watermelon Face Milk . im not sure if this technically qualifies as a serum because its a “face milk”, but regardless its quite good. its a moisturizing face milk that is made for people with oily skin! fourth ray makes others for other skin types, too. this formula is made with watermelon, which helps calm irritation and boost collagen production! 🍉 everytime i use it, it makes my skin feel sooo hydrated! it has a very milky texture, and soaks into the skin pretty fast. i dont really understand why people dont like this product 🤷🏼‍♀️ finally is my newest product, The Ordinary - Alpha Arbutin 2% + HA . this product is a skin lightening product (but not a skin bleaching product as those are very harmful). this targets things like hyperpigmentation and dark spots. ive been using it recently only on the patch of my face that has acne scars, because i dont want to lighten my freckles. it has done a pretty good job for my less severe acne scars, but my severe ones are going to need some more taking care of😣 this product is the same exact texture as the niacinamide. its also absorbs quite fast, too. its $8.90, so its also quite inexpensive! i just wish it could take away my purple acne marks, but i guess not😔 anyways, lemme know what u think of these products in the comments! dont forget to follow and cheer for more☺️ #CheriePartner

🌿 my fav anti-dandruff shampoo
I was suffering from a lot of dandruff on the left side of my head. I always parted most of my hair in that direction, so I think that might have caused an oil buildup. 🐝 Other common causes of dandruff are: Not cleansing enough Dry skin Malassezia fungus (feeds on scalp oils) Allergic reaction Or eczema I tried two products that didn’t do much for me~ Selsun blue - Moisturizing Dandruff Shampoofelt fresh, but didn’t make a difference. Key ingredient is 1% Selenium sulfide, which relieves itching and prevents fungus. head & shoulders - Classic Clean Daily-Use Anti-Dandruff ShampooKey ingredient is 1% Pyrithione Zinc, which fights fungus and bacteria. Considered less intense than selenium sulfide, so for more mild cases. But both these shampoos have sulfates, which can dry our your hair with overuse. Finally, I tried the L'ORÉAL - EverFresh Antidandruff Sulfate Free Shampoo on a whim one day when I was in a rush. It’s about $6 depending on your store, and comes with 8.5 fl oz. But I was happily surprised at how this stopped my dandruff! 🍃 PRODUCT REVIEW & INGREDIENT BREAKDOWN 🍃 This one’s active ingredient is 1% Pyrithione Zinc, like Head & Shoulders. But unlike it, it doesn’t have sulfates. I read the ingredients and saw “sodium lauryl sulfoacetate” (SLSA), which just sounded like a spin off of sulfate. But I did some research. Both that ingredient and traditional sodium lauryl sulfate (SLS) create bubbles. But SLS is artificial, and SLSA is derived from 🥥 and palm oils. According to a Naturally Curly article, SLSA molecules are too big to penetrate skin, making them less irritating than SLS. Basically, it’s a gentler cleanser. Since sulfates can over dry your hair (encouraging more oil production), I think this product struck the right balance: pairing an anti-dandruff ingredient with a less drying cleanser. It also has algae 🌊 and melia azadirachta leaf (Indian lilac) extract. The algae reduces inflammation from bacteria. Meanwhile, lilac is anti-fungal. Plus... it smells and feels minty. A little amount will lather up a lot. It feels cooling on your scalp, so sometimes I let it sit in my hair for a few minutes in the shower. Washing just the roots of your hair is enough. And after washing and applying conditioner, I noticed my hair still had volume. So it did the clearing job without hurting my curls. I used to have ❄️ flakes when I scratched my head. Now, the most I need is a touch up cleanse every quarter. What are your remedies ? Do tea tree oils or certain conditioners work for you?

how to clear up your fungal acne
growing up i never really had acne. it wasn’t until maybe 8th grade till i noticed some texture on my forehead and it only got worse throughout my freshman year of high school. after trying every acne treatment ever invented (ok maybe not all of them) ive finally have found out a way to maintain my FA so that i dont look like 14 year old me anymore 😳 what is fungal acne? fungal acne ( malassezia folliculitis ) is when the healthy yeasts that live on your skin get too comfortable and start to grow. causing that raised itchy texture we all hate what causes fungal acne weather ( hot humid climate ) sweat stress certain ingredients (lipids, polysorbates, esters, oils, and fermented ingredients) what to avoid ok so as said in the previous section, certain ingredients can promote the growth of malassezia. and it just so happens that a HUGE percentage of skincare on the market will be formulated with these types of ingredients. i know very sucky so here are some ingredients to avoid! -absolutely NO oils. the only oils that are fungal acne safe are squalane oil, mineral oil, MCT oil. -all polysorbates including 20, 40, 60, 80 -fermented ingredients ESPECIALLY galacmyces -fatty acids ( stearic, linoleic, myristic, oleic) just to name a few -esters ( glyceryl stearate is the most common one) treatment and ingredients that help -Curology - Curology formula ( clindamycin, niacinamide, azelaic acid, zinc pyrithione) - green tea extracts -honey/ propolis extract -slicylic acid (bha) -sulfur ( De La Cruz - Sulfur Ointment, Acne Medication, Maximum Strength) - tea tree oil - urea - sun exposure 😀🌤 - then we have the inti dandruff shampoo like Nizoral - Anti Dandruff Shampoo and head & shoulders - Classic Clean Daily-Use Anti-Dandruff Shampoo but in my opinion i find them to be unaffected but idk try it for yourself some of my favorite products for fa -CeraVe - Salicylic Acid Facial Cleanser -Curology - Curology formula( azelaic acid, clindamycin, zinc pyrithione) -NATURIUM - Niacinamide Serum 12% Plus Zinc 2% -Glossier. - Super Pure Niacinamide + Zinc Serum -FIRST AID BEAUTY - Hello FAB Coconut Water Cream -FIRST AID BEAUTY - Ultra Repair Oil-Control Moisturizer for more information about fungal acne go to www.simpleskincarescience.com and go read “The Fungal Acne Treatment Bible (2020): Cure Malassezia With Science!” to check if your skincare products are fa safe go to - folliculitisscout.com -sezia.co -skincarisma.com ( that one isn’t as reliable but it still pretty good) like and share! xo melanie

Cheapest But The Best toner I've Ever Had!!
What is it and what does it claim to do: The Ordinary - Glycolic Acid 7% Toning Solutionis a water-based toner with glycolic acid and botanical extracts. This treatment gently exfoliates the skin to restore a clear, radiant appearance. It improves the look of uneven tone and texture with regular use. Key Ingredients breakdown: Glycolic acid: an alpha hydroxy acid that exfoliates the surface of the skin. Tasmanian Pepperberry: a botanical extract that reduces the irritation associated with acid use. Aloe Vera and ginseng: botanical extracts with soothing and radiance-boosting benefits. Amino Acids (namely Aspartic acid, Alanine, Glycine, Serine, Valine, Isoleucine, Proline, Threonine, Histidine, Phenylalanine, Glutamic Acid, and Arginine): every amino acid has a different effect but to summarize: all of them together in this formula provide hydration, have healing properties and help to improve the appearance of wrinkles by restoring collagen synthesis in the skin. How to use it: Now comes to the tough part, using this with other skincare products. As much as I loved using this and how it worked on my skin texture, it did almost next to nothing for skin pigmentation on my cheeks so I had to rack my brains on what else to use and how to make it work. DO NOT TRY TO USE IT TWICE A DAY: The ordinary website says that this should be used only once a day, and I whole heartily agree!! I once tried to amp it up and used it twice a day for around two days till my skin was over-exfoliated and I just knew I had to tone down the enthusiasm a little bit and follow the instructions (lol). Again, this is an acid toner and has a considerably lower pH (3.5-3.7) so it is better if you use it right after cleansing on a clean, dry face. Sensitive skins, beware if this burns, please discontinue using it. DO NOT FORGET USING SUNSCREEN: Anything with glycolic acid will make your skin super prone to sun damage even 2 weeks after discontinued use, so please don’t take your sunscreen application lightly. Waiting time: 15-25 mins of waiting between your next step in skincare will save you from the dreading breakout and burning. DO NOT USE RETINOL or RETINOIDS WITH THIS: see the capital letters? That’s because that experiment was tried and tested by yours truly and it was the biggest failure ever. Please don’t attempt unless you really want to burn off your skin. If you want to still use retinoids and the likes, you might want to alternate them (something I’ve started doing recently) Serums and moisturizers containing Niacinamide and hyaluronic acid work amazing with this: your skin will definitely be super bouncy and bright and more clearer looking the next day!!! Vitamin C: not active vitamin C (like L-Ascorbic Acid) but perhaps stabilized Vitamin C (like Ascorbyl Tetraisopalmitate or such derivatives). As a rule of thumb, just remember if its vitamin C but has ‘Acid’ at the end of it, its probably safer to not use it with more acidic products like AHA, BHA, and retinol. Does it work? Yes, it does work and it works faster than the Pixi Glow tonic. My very first application of this was during fall and I did experience the tingling and flushing of the face that is very characteristic when you use a stronger active for the first time. What I feared most was if this would purge my skin and I am happy to report it did not break me out. I used this twice a week for the first 2 weeks and then started to lessen the break times and now have taken to alternating it with my retinol serum (also from the ordinary). While I used this alone, it did absolute wonders for the texture of my skin! You know those crazy bumps you get on your forehead and around your nose? 1 week of using only this, and they were so diminished, it was almost a miracle. Constant use also made me notice how this almost refined the textured skin on my nose and cheek. Also, I remember that I had a case of flaky skin last fall and since I’ve been using this almost religiously every other day, my skin is all glowy and happy and not tight and flaky anymore. Now that I’ve covered the texture part, let’s talk about the uneven skin tone part. Does it live up to its claims there? Sadly, no. I couldn’t see any drastic change in my sun spots or anything that evened out my skin tone. There is more clarity, fewer new blemishes forming but that was about it. This was a bit disappointing but at the end of the day, its still glycolic acid, not vitamin c or niacinamide so I wasn’t expecting any miracles either. Your skin will look like you’ve exfoliated it every day but there won't be any drastic change in skin-tone. PROs: Works drastically to refine the skin texture Hydrating and not stripping absorbs almost instantly Smoothes out the skin and works to diminish the bumps on the forehead Provides clarity to the skin (which may be due to blemishes) Curbs new blemishes from leaving marks Inexpensive (A whooping 240ml that costs only 12.50 USD!! The amount you get will last you for at least a year!!) CONs: No drastic effect on skin pigmentation Will make the skin super sensitive if used more than once a day Hard to find products that will work well with this since it is more concentrated

3 Steps for Smooth, Glowing Skin
The secret to a highlight-free glow is actually pretty simple when it comes down to it: healthy skin! But we all know that’s not super simple, so here are some tips to help keep you foundation-free but glowing like a Glossier ad: • Sunscreen: Any and all progress you make with a skincare routine is moot if you don’t wear sunscreen. Pigmentation, fine lines, wrinkles, rough texture, inflammation- it’s all exacerbated by UV exposure. To minimize UV damage and cancer risk, apply sunscreen every single day and try to reapply every two hours! My two favourite non-tinted sunscreens are PAULA'S CHOICE - YOUTH-EXTENDING DAILY HYDRATING FLUID SPF 50 and PURITO - Comfy Water Sun Block , but if you’d like some extra tone-evening and a hyperpigmentation-hiding boost, opt for a tinted sunscreen like elta md SKINCARE - UV Clear Broad Spectrum SPF 46 . • Hydration: When skin is healthy, it’s a pro at retaining water, which helps skin look visibly plump and happy. I like to supplement this a bit with a hyaluronic acid serum of some kind- my latest love is NATURIUM - Quadruple Hyaluronic Acid Serum 5% , a very affordable non-tacky serum that leaves my skin feeling quenched and bouncy. • Exfoliation: Skin smoothness can be disrupted by many things, such a lack of proper skin hydration, a compromised moisture barrier, inflammation, scarring... but, a simple fix for strawberry skin and general uneven texture, is good ol’ chemical exfoliation. I prefer BHAs typically, but find AHAs to be best whenever you’re looking for a quick fix on the night before a date! *By Wishtrend - Mandelic Acid 5% Skin Prep Water is super gentle and wonderful for smoothing skin without causing redness/irritation, though I also love the slightly more heavy-duty PAULA'S CHOICE - Skin Perfecting 8% AHA Lotion and wish my skin could tolerate the iconic once-a-week DRUNK ELEPHANT - T.L.C. Sukari Babyfacial Mask . Another benefit of exfoliation is a noticeable increase in brightening and glow, courtesy of sloughing off all those dull dead skin cells! A quick reminder that my skin is combination (oily nose and chin with dry cheeks) and super sensitive, so my recommendations may not be exactly for you, but these guidelines should help guide you along the path towards a highlighter-free glow ✨ #CheriePartner *gifted

Skinsitive
I’d rather get coal than get the Wishtrend Mandelic Acid 5% Skin Prep Water. Honestly I’ve only tried it for a week before I found that it was breaking me out and giving me rashes. This is supposed to be an exfoliating toner that gentle removes any dead skin cells and help promote skin renewal. It also claims to smooth rough texture. Skincare is super personal so what may work for me may not work for others and vice versa. Unfortunately it did not work out for me since the most gentle exfoliating acid ended up being the most irritating for me. The toner is a watery toner that you can place on a cotton round to swipe all over the face. I know a lot of my other friends enjoy it but unfortunately it did not work out for me. I recommend trying it since it’s inexpensive for about $22 and others have noted that it’s pretty effective in terms of clearing up any clogged up skin cells. Overall, my personal rating is 1/5 stars because of the irritation.

SERUMS VS OILS ?! WHATS THE DIFFERENCE ?!
I’ve seen this mistake made in many routines, including my own! When first getting into skincare, and experimenting with all sorts of new goodies it can be tough sometimes to understand a products function and what order to apply each product. It took me forever to figure out how to incorporate oils into my routine without just making myself look like a greasy monster 🙄 So I wanted to bring it back to basics and talk about the difference between facial serums and facial oils ✨ SERUMS: ✨ These are a treatment step, serums contain up to 70% active ingredients making them highly potent and results oriented. ✨Serums are made up of small molecules that are able to penetrate and deposit powerful actives into the deeper layers of the skin. ✨Serums can have moisturizing ingredients, but aren’t considered moisturizers in the traditional sense. You need to follow a serum with a moisturizer to create a barrier on top and keep all the good stuff in. ✨You should always use serums before moisturizer and never as a replacement FACIAL OILS: ✨Are best suited as a hydration step, the molecules are much larger meaning they are only serving the outermost layers of the skin. ✨Oils provide a boost of nutrition and hydration, they help nourish and strengthen the skin barrier. ✨Oils should be applied after serums and moisturizer, and can actually be used to replace your moisturizer. ✨ You only need about 2-3 drops of oil to cover your face without leaving a greasy film. A couple of my favourite are: SERUMS: ONE LOVE ORGANICS - Botanical C Facial Serum The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% HERBIVORE - Prism 12% AHA + 3% BHA Exfoliating Glow Serum OILS:HERBIVORE - Emerald Deep Moisture Glow Oil YOUTH TO THE PEOPLE - Superberry Hydrate + Glow Oil

Another Routine Update 🤔
Another Routine Update 🤔
It’s been a few weeks since starting to crack down on my routine, and unfortunately I think the amount of products I was using overwhelmed my skin again and clogged it up. I have some healing pimples on my forehead and a few on my chin, but the bulk of the spots I have are little scars. Moisturizers and serums are always a hassle for me because it seems like every other products causes congestion. I want to love The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1%so badly but I can’t exactly tell if it does much for me. I stopped using The Ordinary - Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5as well as the nightly PAULA'S CHOICE - Skin Perfecting 2% BHA Liquid Exfoliatorbecause they seemed to be pushing my skin over the edge. As of now I’m testing out POND'S - Facial Moisturizers Dry Skin Cream at night to see if it breaks me out or not... I used it in the past and really liked it and so far it’s going well. Just need to use this sparingly and focus only on the areas that need hydration (my cheeks rarely break out and are super dry). In the morning I opt for the stratia - Liquid Goldmoisturizer or Eucerin - Q10 Anti-Wrinkle Sensitive Skin Lotion, SPF 15 Sunscreen So what really works? The double cleansing method of The Ordinary - Squalane Cleanser and VANICREAM - Gentle Facial Cleanser has not given me any new breakouts and leaves my skin so much less irritated than other cleansers. I only double cleanse at night and then in the mornings I will rinse with water and only wash with Vanicream if I am feeling extra sweaty/greasy. After I cleanse at night I slap on some of the niacinamide serum, then the PONDs, and top off my chin and forehead with DIFFERIN - DIFFERIN Acne Treatment Gel. I am just starting out with Differin so I will be sure to update more! It seems that simpler is better for me.

How I Deal With My Acne
How I Deal With My Acne
Big disclaimer before I begin: I don’t get a lot of huge breakouts. My main problems are dark spots and dullness. Acne? Not so much, although I do get pimples here and there around my monthly period. My methods for getting rid of my acne may not work for people who deal with a lot of cystic acne, but if I manage to at least point you in the right direction, it would make me really, really happy! ☺️ So anyway, like many other people out there, I tend to get pimples on my nose, forehead, jaw, and chin. There’s nothing wrong with getting pimples, but I can’t deny that not only do they not look pretty, they’re also a hassle to deal with (painful pimples, I’m glaring at you right now). This method has never failed to solve my issue with my pimples. Whenever I get them, I simply use these three products. If I happen to have a breakout, I switch my toner to COSRX - Centella Water Alcohol-Free Toner because it’s really gentle and soothing to the skin. Centella is an ingredient that is known to be really effective for blemished skin. But not all Centella products are effective in removing pimples. In fact, for a while, I also used COSRX - Centella Blemish Cream but it worked so slowly that I wasn’t sure if it even helped. Plus, with a price tag of $20 per 30ml tub, I found it too expensive for something that didn’t work too well. Thankfully, I discovered MARIO BADESCU - Glass Bottle Drying Lotion It’s roughly $25 per 30ml bottle, which is technically more expensive than Cosrx’s Blemish Cream. But since it works like magic, it’s really worth the price you pay. Just dip a q-tip into the bottle and apply the solution right on your pimple. When you wake up the next day, your pimple will be either be flat or considerably smaller. That’s why I said it works like magic. Once the pimple starts drying, I use COSRX - Cosrx Acne Pimple Master Patch to cover it up and to speed up the healing. I also use it on pimples that have already popped, because again, it helps greatly with the healing process. It also helps me avoid scars that could come from pimples. With just these three products, I could easily deal with my pimples, especially around that time of the month. What about you, what do you use to combat your acne? Let me know in the comments below!

Face Rash Chronicles

It’s like my face is getting worst. I’m so worried that this is going to be permanent and leave some scarring... my skin isn’t smooth any more more, I’m breaking out like crazy... 😔 and I have a wedding to go to on Sunday... I’m a tad bit disappointed in myself.. some people may think that I’m being dramatic but I’ve worked really hard to get clear skin. I’ve done a lot of diy stuff, mask, etc and I actually found products that work for my skin... I was getting facials because 1. It’s relaxing. 2. Dark spot. I get hairs that grow on my chin and side of my face and I tweeze sometimes picking at my skin to get the hair.... 😩😩😩 now I still have dark spots and itchy skin and break outs, redness etc. My esthetician gave me some script script samples to use. I don’t know if I was paying attention properly but I feel as soon as I put it on my skin looked liked it got worst. It also kind of stung. Minus the stinging it could all just be in my head. Hopefully this will work.!

Brand Review: COSRX
Brand Review: COSRX
As someone with problematic skin, I can’t count on one hand how many COSRX products I’ve tried before. COSRX is a brand that was established in Korea almost two decades ago in 2002. Its name comes from Cosmetics + Rx, showing how much the brand focuses on solving different skin issues. Since most of its products are fairly affordable, I’ve become a pretty huge fan over the years. Although I started using the brand as a university student in my late teens, I never stopped patronizing their products. In fact, until now I still use COSRX products especially for my acne. Here are some products I’ve tried from this Korean skincare brand! 1. COSRX - Centella Water Alcohol-Free Toner To this day, this is the toner I use when I have breakouts. It has a water like consistency and is easily absorbed into the skin. It also soothes my pimples, reducing redness and irritation. 2. COSRX - Cosrx Acne Pimple Master Patch These are actually hydrocolloid patches, the same type of product that is used on patients who are healing from surgeries. I use these when I have a pimple that is already on its way out in order to speed up the healing process and avoid acne scars. 3. COSRX - AHA/BHA Clarifying Treatment Toner This was the toner I had before switching to my current toner. It has a similar consistency to the Centella toner and I think it complemented my other AHA products nicely. 4. COSRX - Low PH Good Morning Gel Cleanser Not a fan of this cleanser at all, but I will admit that it’s not a bad product. It did manage to make my skin smooth, soft, and ready for my routine. However, I prefer cream type cleansers to gel type. 5. COSRX - Salicylic Acid Daily Gentle Cleanser This is actually my boyfriend’s cleanser, but he kept one at my place so when I used up my AM cleanser, I used this for a while. It lathers well but it’s also really drying, so get a nice moisturizer if you wanna use this product. 6. COSRX - Galactomyces 95 Tone Balancing Essence I only got this because I saw a lot of reviews hyping it online. Can’t say I noticed any considerable changes with this product. As an essence, it was rather moisturizing... and that was pretty much it. I didn’t get any breakouts or suffer from irritation though, so there’s that. 7. COSRX - Centella Blemish Cream I bought this product as spot treatment for my acne. It did work, sort of, but it was so slow that I’m not sure if it was even because of this product or if the pimples were simply at the end of their life. 😂 With a price of $20 for a 30ml tub though, I definitely didn’t think it was worth paying that much for a so-so product. I’ve been using COSRX for so long that I’m pretty sure I’m forgetting a few more products, but these are the ones I’ve tried in the last 3 years, at least. What about you? Let me know in the comments! 💋

How I cleared my Acne - My AM and PM routine
How I cleared my Acne - My AM and PM routine
Swipe left !! 🔙 So, my Hormonal acne is almost cleared up and I'm so excited to share with you how I cleared my acne as well as what products worked amazing for that! As shown in pictures six months back I had painful, bleeding cystic acne that flared up because of PCOS (Poly-Cystic Ovarian Syndrome). I managed to leave them at bay now, leaving me focused on just the acne scars which are also faded a lot! I believe whoever has hormonal acne, or breakouts in general this routine will for you! So here's my morning and nighttime routine for past six months ( some products are added recently but they're helping me in maintaining my skin Acne-free) AM - @fresh Soy cleanserfresh - Soy Makeup Removing Face Wash @innisfree Panthenol 10 tonerinnisfree - Truecare Panthenol 10 Moisture Skin @naturium Hyaluronic acid essence 2% NATURIUM - Hyaluronic Acid Essence 2% @Tula Pro-Glycolic PH resurfacing tonerTULA SKINCARE - Pro-Glycolic 10% Resurfacing Toner Alternate day (replacing AHA/ @tula toner) - @naturium Vitamin C Super serum plusNATURIUM - Vitamin C Super Serum Plus @theordinary Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% @naturium Niacinamide 12% + Zinc 2% NATURIUM - Niacinamide Serum 12% Plus Zinc 2% @sundayriley C.E.O Vitamin C rich hydration cream SUNDAY RILEY - C.E.O. Azaleic acid is such a great all rounder and no brainer when it comes to treating Acne and lightening/fading dark spots. Quick overlook of it's benefits- - Anti-microbial (hence kills acne causing bacteria) - Anti-inflammatory (reduces redness and look of blemishes) -Gently exfoliates skin (Unlike potent AHA but gives similar exfoliation) - Reduces skin texture and textural irregularities - Lightens and brightens dark spots, PIH, melasma by slowing down melanin production - Works well with almost all actives including AHA/BHA, Vitamin C, Retinols - Isn't photosensitive meaning you can use it in the morning as well as at night. Which product/ingredient you like the most? ⭐
