Hello! Today I’m bringing out my two cents and telling you guys about these awesome water activated liners I discovered! They’re from Glisten Cosmetics and they were very easy and forgiving to work with. The only downside is they’re not waterproof :( Also, just tried the Charlotte Tilbury - Magic Foundation Flawless Long-Lasting Coverage SPF15 and it is a DREAM. I have dry skin and this gave me enough glow and matte-ness in the areas that matter 🥳 MARC JACOBS BEAUTY - O!Mega Bronzer Perfect Bronzer used this bronzer for awhile, not splotchy or muddy. TATCHA - Luminous Dewy Skin Mist brings EVERYTHING back to life w/out looking sweaty ANASTASIA Beverly Hills - Blush Trio got this at TJmaxx awhile back for cheap. Amazing product and perfect amount of pigment Violet Voss - Flamingo PRO Eyeshadow Palette my tried and true 💖

I’ve been obsessed with skincare and makeup since I was a little girl. I made my own masks, I religiously cleansed my face day and night once I started wearing makeup and I used treatment products and moisturizers long before I needed them - that is key! Start a skincare routine as early as you can. If you think your skin is perfect and doesn’t need anything, think about the decades coming! Start now! Here’s the thing- skincare (and makeup) don’t have to be complicated or expensive. I regularly blend drugstore products with high end products. Honestly, many of the drugstore products turn out to be my favorites. Full disclosure, I use a crap ton of skincare products and I change up my routine as needed. I rarely put on a full face of makeup but I do wear some makeup 5-6 days of the week because it makes me feel pulled together and I like how it looks. No apologies necessary for daily make up wearers- do what makes you feel good! No shame in self care, ever! Today felt like a full-face-of-makeup day for some reason, so I had some fun and put it all on. Here are some of my fave products and what I used today: 1. Day old hair with Toni & Guy matte hair powder. 2. Cleanse face with CLARISMA - Malibu Blush Exfoliating Scrub - the enzymes in this cleanser keep my face smooth and glowing. Follow with some quick swipes of pixi - Glow Tonic allow to dry then mix one dropThe Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% The Ordinary - Matrixyl* 10% + HA , half pumpCLARISMA - Cali Dreaming Cream Daily Moisturizer massage in and appy a dab of Roots Sensitive Eye Cream to eyes. When my face is dry I apply a layer of DRUNK ELEPHANT - Umbra Tinte Physical Daily Defense Broad Spectrum Sunscreen SPF 30 . 3. Prime my oily skin with smashbox - Photo Finish Foundation Primer Super Light , one little drop each LANCÔME - Teint Idole Ultra Long Wear Foundation and SHISEIDO - Perfect Refining Foundation SPF 15 MAYBELLINE - Instant Age Rewind Eraser Dark Circle Treatment Concealer for under eyes, e.l.f. - Hydrating Camo Concealer (just discovered this!), UNDONE BEAUTY - LIP TO CHEEK 3-IN-1 CREAM PALETTE , tiny bit of bareMinerals - Mineral Veil Setting Powder Broad Spectrum SPF 25 on t-zone, SHISEIDO - Shiseido Eyelash Curler COVERGIRL - Total Tease Waterproof Mascara NYX - Eyebrow Cake Powder , Rimmel grey eyeliner, a few pats bh - Illuminating in Ireland 6 Color Highlight Palette Sephora chunky crayon brow enhancer, florence by mills - Limited Edition Get Glossed Lip Gloss Duo . Last, I like to spray a couple spritzes of HERBIVORE - Rose Hibiscus Hydrating Mist to get a satin look. This seems like a lot, but it takes maybe 6-8 minutes. I apply my foundation, concealer, cream blush and eye shadow by hand. Always have, always will. My skin isn’t perfect, but it’s pretty good and I owe it to taking care of my skin for more than 30 years. Unfortunately, I grew up in an era we didn’t talk about sunscreen and sun damage. I baked in the sun and eeeeek, tanning beds. Surprisingly, my skin isn’t horrible but I definitely see the damage. I’m currently working on undoing some of that damage. Morale of the story, take care of your skin and enjoy the process. I do!

I’m sure we allll remember instagram brows... a few years ago, every makeup artist was doing super defined, dramatic brows, feathered toward the inside and then carved out with concealer to make them pop even more. then glossier and similar brands came along, changing the brow game toward a more natural, less filled-in look. while trends change and some may not consider the left picture to be “wrong,” looking back I don’t think it was the right look for me, and I’m glad I changed it. I’ve figured out in recent years that dramatic makeup just isn’t my thing, and that’s okay! We’re all different, and I’m more than happy to cheer from the sidelines as some of y’all do incredible, complex makeup looks. But I was trying to follow a trend without even considering if it was right for me, and now I’m glad I don’t feel the need to do that anymore. Looking back at those brows, I realize now that they were too dark too sharply defined not feathered enough toward the inside, as many people’s brows naturally are For the picture on the left, I had used NYX - Eyebrow Cake Powder , which was my go-to for a long time in college. I don’t think the product itself was bad—it came with two brown powders, plus a gel wax to brush up and set brows—but I don’t think I applied it very well. Maybe it was the name that made me think it was supposed to be literally caked on, but that’s what I did. I do remember it lasted well throughout the day though, especially when I finished it with the wax. I’m sure I could’ve applied it with a lighter hand and it would look more how I want my brows to look now. I would also used a lot of the MAYBELLINE - Fit Me Concealer to carve out my brows: while this is a great affordable full-coverage concealer, again, it was my usage of it that I’m glad I’ve left in the past. On the right I’m wearing a product I’ve talked about many times: the Milk MAKEUP - KUSH Fiber Brow Gel . This is the only product I wear on my brows on the average day—no need for additional powders or pencils to give me this more natural, just-filled-in-enough look. I can’t rave about this product enough, but I’ll keep it short and direct you toward my previous posts on it if you want to know my full thoughts. In sum, these are the main differences between the two pictures: on the left, I used a brow powder/pomade (and a lot of it); on the right, I use just a tinted brow gel on the left, I carved out my brows with concealer; on the right, I just use a clean concealer brush to clean up any extra brow gel outside my brow line on the left, I heavily filled in areas outside my natural brow line; on the right, I apply brow gel only to where I actually have brow hairs Was anyone else a victim of instagram brows? or are they still your go-to? When I tell u this concealer can conceal bags and everything else....this shit is amazing [$3.74 on Amazon] MAC - Studio Fix Fluid SPF 15 Foundation ok so about this foundation.....I got this foundation from my mom and it’s in the shade NC50 (I think that’s the shade). It’s kinda dark for my face. But I normally mix it w IL MAKIAGE - WOKE UP LIKE THIS and I can get the perfect shade. [$32.8 on Amazon] MAYBELLINE - Facestudio Master Contour V-Shape Duo Stick ok so this is my first time actually using both sides of a contour duo stick. They did an ok good, the concealer color was light and blended in well and the contour color was deep and creamy [$12.99 on Amazon] BLACK RADIANCE - True Complexion Contour Palette I’m still getting used to doing a full face and I’m figuring out what are my colors. I have been using the Milk hydro primer in my makeup routine for a couple weeks now, and I wouldn’t go back! At first the price made me a little iffy as $30 for a primer is high for me. But I’m so glad I did it! I have very dry skin, and a little goes a very long way. It feels cooling on my face, and leaves my face feeling plump. My foundation goes on smoothly with this primer, it grips my makeup and makes it stay throughout the day! Although bc of my dry skin I do moisturize before, and then apply facial oil and let it sit for about 2 minutes, then I go in with the primer and let that sit for about 2-3 minutes as well before I apply any makeup. I have a yellowish skin tone so I tend to lean toward peachy/bronze colors. But, as you get older it helps you look a little more alive if you have a bit of pink in your cheeks. Pinky Peach or Rose Gold blushes have become my go-to! I also don’t like shimmer in my blush for daily wear, but that’s hard to find. Listed in order of my favorite to my least favorite 1. NYX - High Definition Blush in Rose Gold This one is a great pink with a hint coral. The only negative is it’s shimmery. 2. BURT’S BEES - Blush with Vitamin E in Toasted Cinnamon Almost no pink, almost all peach. Zero shimmer!! This is the one I wear most often for everyday/work makeup. 3. NARS - NARS Blush in Orgasm Bright pink with a peachy/golden shimmer. I think this one gives the best face brightening effect. 4. tarte - Amazonian Clay 12-Hour Blush in Sweet This is super old and I really should toss it but I can’t!!! It’s a nice bright pink and shows up really well on my skin even with a tan. Shimmer. 5. bareMinerals - Gen Nude Powder Blush in Call my Blush This one is a really neutral pink with zero shimmer. Applies sheerest of the bunch but very buildable. 6. essence - Satin Touch Blush in Bespoke Warm gold peachy color. No shimmer. 7. MILANI - MILANI Baked Blush in Luminoso More of a true light peach shimmer. Works as a highlighter as well. What is your favorite blush for everyday wear? I did this “glam” makeup in 10 minutes focusing on the eyes, brows, and lips. Since I put the focus on other areas of my face, my skin makeup did not matter as much. For face makeup I did a layer of foundation with contour and highlight. For my brows I used my beloved eyeshadow pallete to add a little bit of color and brushes the brows out with some brow gel. For the eyes I save lots of time by applying false lashes and adding some mascara to the bottom lashes. For lips, I over-lined my lips and out in my favorite lipstick. I had a little bit of extra time so I used the powder used on my brows to create faux freckles. I live in Massachusetts (home to Salem, MA) and everyone freaks out about halloween season. I created this look to get me in the halloween spirit with a dramatic, yet wearable look. I chose a black lip because it reminds me of halloween costume makeup but paired the look with a more neutral eye. Lip products: KVD VEGAN BEAUTY - Everlasting Liquid Lipstick in ‘Woolf’. This lipstick is a matte lipstick but is very moisturizing. ( I had chapped lips and my lips did not appear to be overly dried). This product is also vegan and cruelty free. Woolf is a gray shade but I paired it with the product below to darken it up. bellápierre COSMETICS - bellápierre Cosmetics Gel Eye Liner I used this product as a lip liner and blended it into the liquid lipstick. Since this is a gel based, the colors melted nicely together and created a comfortable consistency. Any black pencil liner will do but I recommend doing a patch test on the back of your wrist before applying to your lips. ...This lip combo made my teeth super white (not sure why) and I was loving it 🤩 Eye shadows: NATASHA DENONA - Camel Palette these eyeshadows are super pigmented and have no fallout. I used the orange-toned shade. URBAN DECAY - Naked Illuminated Shimmering Powder for Face and Body +stila - stila Liquid Eyeshadow Set this created the perfect silvery, glitter eyeshadow that lasted all day without creasing. The powder is very light weight, easy to apply and its comes with powder pad for easy to use. The powder has a vanilla and coconut aroma that is very pleasant when applying. These powders come in 8 different shades for everyone unique shade. I love using this powder for my under eyes to have bright eye effect and also when contouring my nose. When applying the powder I don't let the it sit for too long because it can cause me to dry out my skin. FENTY BEAUTY - Pro Filt'r Soft Matte Longwear Foundation trying out this new foundation sample by fenty. Kept me nice and matte for majority of my wear. A touch of oil did start to peak through but that was with about 8hrs with of wear. It oxidized a touch so I think I’d get a shade lighter to try out. NYX - Epic Wear Eye & Body Liquid Liner love this liner. It’s dark and easy to apply. A little hard to remove, even with my professional products. But I do love it benefit - Precisely, My Brow Pencil Waterproof Eyebrow Definer this was my go to after I ran out of my Mac brow pencil. I like that it has a little more length to the pencil so I can hold it better. I wish the product was a little firmer so I’m able to make more defined hair strokes. laura mercier - Translucent Loose Setting Powder love this setting powder. Sometimes I’ll use a powdered foundation if I need a little more coverage but I typically set my whole face sigh this powder. I don’t bake since power dries out my under eye area but this powder keeps my skin smooth. It also blends well with my contour powder and my highlight powders.
