Whenever my skin acts up and I become an irrational witch with a capital B, I check the #GlowPeriodTracker and my @cherie Skin Journey. They have yet to fail me when it comes to knowing when my period 🩸 is on its way and answer the age old question - Why am I breaking out like this when I have been doing everything right?! And why do I want to consume my weight in chocolate while watching Beaches and Moonstruck on my flat screen!?😂😂😂 There are skin changes that happens right before Aunt Flo comes to town. Less estrogen and progesterone are being produced and this increases the production of sebum/oil from the sebaceous glands in the body. Your skin is even more sensitive during this time as well and dehydrates very quickly. It can be a nightmare with this confusion situation going on on your face but here are some easy tips to combat this time before your time of the month: 🌹Use products with Salicylic Acid or Glycolic Acid to combat that increase in oil on your face. I recommend finding a good cleanser with SA and/or a good toner with GA. Recommended Products: THE inkey LIST - Salicylic Acid Acne + Pore Cleanser THE inkey LIST - Glycolic Acid Exfoliating Toner 🥀 Exercise daily! I cannot say this enough. It regulates your hormones and by keeping them leveled, you can actually help turn the tides when it comes to your mood, your health and your skin during this time. Plus, exercising increases circulation which brings more blood to the skin and helps it look more radiant and less dull. 🌹 Increase your water intake. This time of the month can be very dehydrating to the body as well as the skin on your face. Please drink more water, add hyaluronic acid to your skincare routine and avoid sodas/sugary drinks to keep your tired, PMS skin looking refreshed. Also, add serums, hydrating mask and an oil free moisturizer to your routine as well to help ease the transition into your menstruation cycle. Remember to listen to your skin. It will tell you what it needs. Recommended Products: The Ordinary - Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5 CLEAN SKIN CLUB - Water Bottle 3 Pack 🥀 Get some sleep! Enough sleep can help your body replenish itself and it helps to manage stress levels during this already hectic time. You don’t want to add stress wrinkles on top of PMS do you? Didn’t think so! Recommended Products: OLLY - Sleep OLLY - Bedtime Beauty Gummy Supplement 🌹Eat more fruits and veggies, take your multivitamins and add antioxidants to your diet. Also, can’t avoid that craving to eat your weight in chocolate like me 😂? Don’t worry! Dark Chocolate is actually really good for your skin so have at it! You’ve earned it 🙂 Recommended Products: OLLY - The Perfect Women’s Multi Sugarbearhair - SugarBearHair Women's Multi Vegan MultiVitamin 1 Month Centrum - Multi+ Beauty Gummies Natural Cherry, Berry & Orange #onemoreday #period #pmsproblems #hormones #hormonalacne #inhiding #skincare #skincarejourney #skincareroutine

Is it worth it? Affordable skin care, yes please
So I’ve been hearing people rave about this for a while now and I was browsing on Sephora and thought I would buy it. So I spent $30 dollars in total which is not bad in my opinion. Everything was under $15. THE inkey LIST - Brighten-i Eye Cream I really hope this works because my under eyes are in need of some major brightening. It has some good ingredients like ginseng and a lot of moisturizing properties. THE inkey LIST - Glycolic Acid Exfoliating Toner Now this I have high hopes for because I have used a few of these. I have tried the pixi glow tonic and the ordinary glycolic acid toner so I’m hoping it’s similar. I love a good toner but I don’t always think it’s necessary but if this one surprises me I would be happy to buy it again. THE inkey LIST - Hyaluronic Acid Serum I have the same feelings about this as I do with the glycolic toner. This product is meant to do one thing which is, hydrate. I have combination skin with an oily t-zone and dry around the mouth and eyes. If it doesn’t do a decent job, I will be very confused. Anyway, I’ll keep you guys updated on the results and let me know what experience you had with these products Alexis❤️

🌟MOST REPURCHASED ORDINARY PRODUCTS🌟
The ordinary is definitely one of the hottest brands of 2020. They formulate single ingredient products that definitely work! In august 2020, I entered the skincare community, completely a newbie, didn’t know about ingredients, or what was good/bad for my skin. The ordinary was the first brand that I was introduced to, and the nicinamide & hyaluronic acid were the first two products that I ordered. The niacinamide works amazing. It does tend to be a bit sticky, and it does sting if I have any blemishes on my face that are exposed to air (aka I popped it, don’t tell my derm 🤐). If they made a 5%, I would be allll over it. Hyaluronic acid serum is amazing. Applies smoothly, absorbed quickly. Literally everything you want in a hyaluronic acid serum. The mask is great! I only use this mask in my t-zone when I feel like I’m producing more oil than normal. My cheeks are dry, so I dont use this mask on those areas. All in all, big fan of the ordinary, but moving forward I may dive into products with multiple benefits all in one product!

The ordinary haul
so I impulsively got a ton of stuff from the ordinary based on reviews and what several of their online employees have recommended. I gotta save, I've only work the hyaluronic acid for a day and it feels fantastic! I'll be updating in a month-6 weeks to give an accurate update, but I really gotta talk about the hyaluronic acid. I've tried them before and they were just sticky, and didn't feel great, this one is fantastic! my face felt so plush and soft! it was the first thing I tried and it is amazing! posting new results in a short while guys!

CURIOUS ABOUT THE INKEY LIST?
i have been a huge fan of the inkey list for years; their products are affordable, cruelty-free & predominantly vegan, and they only use necessary ingredients! here are a few products of theirs that i am currently using (plus some honourable mentions that i have previously used): 💫THE inkey LIST - Glycolic Acid Exfoliating Toner 💫 this 10% glycolic acid toner works wonders with no irritation or excessive dryness. previously, i used the pixi glow tonic to-go pads which is only 5% but the transition has been very peaceful! it helps to shrink and unclog pores as well as reduce fine lines. i use it every other night! 💫THE inkey LIST - Salicylic Acid Acne + Pore Cleanser 💫 this baby is a miracle-worker for acne. after years of using brands with harsh ingredients such as clean&clear and oxy, this cleanser is a breath of fresh air. it is gentle while quickly clearing up any severe breakouts i have. no tightness of the skin here! 💫NEW!! THE inkey LIST - Succinic Acid Acne Treatment 💫 as soon as i saw that the inkey list had a new pimple fighting product out, i sprinted to order it! this product contains 1% salicylic acid, 2% sulfur powder, and 2% succinic acid, a compound naturally found in the body to help control oil levels and unclog pores while also shrinking blemishes. while it is still new to me, i have found that it has shrunk my pimples as well as reduce the redness and pressure in them!! honourable mentions: 💫THE inkey LIST - Vitamin C Serum 30ml 💫 i used this when i was first getting into having a proper skincare routine. it had this incredible natural smell of what i can only describe as maple and it did truly help to even and brighten my complexion. i will say that it did not agree with broken or super sensitive skin! 💫THE inkey LIST - Caffeine Eye Cream 💫 i used this product more for puffiness and waking up my tired eyes rather than dark circles and i must say i enjoyed it! immediately after application, my eyes felt super alert and it even made ME feel more awake! i would definitely reconsider purchasing it after i am done my present eye cream. and that’s all folks!! i hope you enjoyed ;) please be sure to follow here and on my IG @chloebrk.mua #cheriecreator

Soo... I am on my period and my skin broke out like crazyyy! I ate like trash on the past few days so that explains A LOT. I ran out of my PAULA'S CHOICE - Skin Perfecting 2% BHA Liquid Exfoliator Which I used religiously every night, but it’s been like 2 weeks since I last used it and my skin got the news and decided to break out like there was no tomorrow on my period So now is the perfect time to try new things! I am switching to the following products: CeraVe - Hydrating Facial Cleanser The Ordinary - 100% Plant-Derived Squalane The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% CeraVe - SA Lotion For Rough & Bumpy Skin The Ordinary - Caffeine Solution 5% + EGCG (only for eye bags) 👁 Petroleum Jelly for my lashes and lips 👄 The ones I didn’t rate it’s because I’m trying them and I want to see the results and then I’ll rate them 😊😊 I love my squalene oil and the hydrating cleanser from CeraVe! I will be posting my journey along when I see some results. PLEASE PLEASE, if you have any suggestions, comments or questions please let me know! Let me know if you know of a product that may benefit my skin issues, I need as much help as I can get I don’t like how my skin is looking

I’m officially hooked on CosRx after this!
I’m officially hooked on CosRx after this!
I’ve been wanting to try CosRx products after reading all the hype. This was a great introduction for only $3 at Ulta. I had been the victim of my own over-exfoliation, so the kit was a nice way to give my face a break and rebuild the moisture barrier. The kit starts with COSRX - Low PH Good Morning Gel Cleanser It has a natural tea tree scent, and it did a great job of cleansing without stripping my skin. The amount includes is enough for 2-3 uses, depending on how carefully you open the package and keep it sealed between use. The price point on this cleanser is nice, but I’ll probably stick with my usual drugstore brands LaRoche Posay and CeraVe for ease of access. Next, the kit includes COSRX - One Step Moisture Up Pad There are two pads in the kit, and you can definitely use one pad per use to get two uses out of it. The formulation on this was amazing. It is a super hydrating toner that would be well suited for using before or after chemical exfoliation. I gave it 4/5 because it doesn’t seem to do a great job at removing residue/makeup like many other toners. It’s more of a treatment. The key ingredients are hyaluronic acid and propolis extract. I wanted to get more of these, but they weren’t available at Ulta. Amazon had them for about $15 for 70 pads. The final act was the Holy Moly Snail Mask with the CosRx signature snail mucus formula. The idea of this totally skeeves me out, but my skin was so angry at me, I thought a little slime would probably help. Holy. Moly. This stuff was amazing! The mask really formed to my face and I happily left it on for the full 20 mins. My eye area tends to be a little sensitive, so I put a couple of damp cotton pads over my eyelids before applying the mask. There wasn’t much space for the “eye holes” but the mask didn’t irritate my eye area at all. The directions encourage you to massage the remaining serum on your skin. It does take a good 5-10 minutes to absorb, but this is key and don’t rinse it off! I used the kit in the morning. While I was able to apply a tinted moisturizer and go about my day, my skin was a bit more dewy than usual. If you have very dry skin this probably would not be a big deal, but if you’re skin is normal or combination, you might want to use at night to give it some more time to sink into your skin. I will say, my skin felt amazingly soft and hydrated all day. The biggest and most surprising benefit was my pores looked so much smoother and smaller. It also helped clear some maskne on my chin. Seeing this, I purchased the COSRX - Advanced Snail 96 Mucin Power Essence and I have to say, it has been the MOST effective thing I have used for pore size reduction. It kicks The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% out of bed. It’s much thicker than TO serum, so I’ll probably alternate and use the snail serum at night.

New Routine For My Combo Acne-Prone Skin
New Routine For My Combo Acne-Prone Skin
I have used each of these products before, but never for prolonged use or in a structured routine. Using this new routine for the past two days I have not had any new breakouts and my forehead texture seems to be improving! AM ROUTINE ☀️ 1. Rinse face with cool ( 😎 ) water. 2. Apply The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% and The Ordinary - Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5 as well as The Ordinary - Caffeine Solution 5% + EGCG under my eyes. 3. Moisturize with stratia - Liquid Gold and a few drops of The Ordinary - 100% Plant-Derived Squalane PM ROUTINE 🌙 1. Wash face with The Ordinary - Squalane Cleanser 2. Exfoliate using PAULA'S CHOICE - Skin Perfecting 2% BHA Liquid Exfoliator (I don’t do this twice a day because I broke out in awful cysts all over my forehead when overusing this in the past) 3. Same serums as above, but instead of the caffeine solution under my eyes I sometimes opt for the dear, klairs - Freshly Juiced Vitamin C Drop 4. Same moisturizers as AM! I rated many of these as 3 stars because they are good products, but not too sure how beneficial they are on their own. A lot of The Ordinary’s products seem to have a higher success rate in combination with other products! I will post updated pictures of my skin in a few weeks to see if it really does anything! ✨

A week of skincare (daisy wanted in on this)
A week of skincare (daisy wanted in on this)
➡️PROGRESS PHOTOS (last two) TAKEN AFTER TWO WEEKS OF CONSISTENCY As a 19 year old working in fast food, keeping a routine can be hard. And working in a greasy environment for 45 hours a week really takes a toll on my skin. However, these are the products that I have been consistently using that have cleared my skin!! A week of skincare for me looks like this: Every morning I use the CeraVe - Salicylic Acid Facial Cleanser it’s VERY gentle for my sensitive skin & keeps my face looking clean and reduces the appearance of the blackheads around my nose. At night I use the CeraVe - Acne Foaming Cream Cleanser This cleanser is also incredibly gently. I used to use the differin cleanser, but this one does the same job but it much less drying on my skin!! Again, I’m a sensitive one. One a week, usually on my day off from work, I use the The Ordinary - AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution this has SERIOUSLY transformed my skin. It does hurt at times when my skin is breaking out, but it has helped clear my maskne, that’s for sure. Twice a week I use the The Ordinary - Salicylic Acid 2% Masque This is another mask that you leave on for only 10 minutes. It has proven to reduce the appearance of my acne, as well as to help it go away much quicker. The Ordinary - Glycolic Acid 7% Toning Solution this is a product I use 2-3 times a week and only at night. It does make the skin more sensitive to sunlight, but it makes the area around my nose less oily. Mostly used as needed. CeraVe - Eye Repair Cream I’ve never enjoyed an eye cream until I tried this one. They always seemed gimmicky to me. However, the area around my eyes started getting dry this summer, so I started patting this in morning and night and I will definitely be repurchasing!! CeraVe - Moisturizing Cream For Normal To Dry Skin need I really say anything about this? We all know how fantastic this product is. Just use it. CeraVe - Resurfacing Retinol Serum this was a new purchase for me in an attempt to clear my chin acne that surfaced from wearing masks and having sensitive skin. After two days of using this serum at night, I saw SIGNIFICANT fading of my acne marks! This is also a great light retinol to work your way into using stronger ones! The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% I use this serum immediately before applying moisturizer. It reduces the appearance of the texture on my face and I’m on my third bottle!! DIFFERIN - DIFFERIN Acne Treatment Gel this is a product that you may want to give up on after using a couple times. It is incredibly drying (use the cerave moisturizer!!!!!) however, it is definitely worth pushing through to get the results you desire!! Remember, with strong acne treatments, purging is normal at first!!
