My Bunny & Her Hair 🐰
We call her Bunny. Her name is Heather Olivia. She is almost 5 years old. I was a mother long before she came along. A mother to 3 boys which, at the time of her birth, made me feel unqualified for the job of raising a girl. The youngest girl in my family at the time was 18 years old so I did not have much experience with girls since there were so many males in my family. Over time, this irrational feeling of not measuring up went away and I am now confident in my mothering of a young African American female. There was only one issue I had a problem tackling - her hair! I didn’t know much about doing a girls hair and I couldn’t just take her to a barber like my boys. So, I started out by doing what I did to my hair when I started my natural hair care journey. I even used the same products and she still uses these products to this very day! I searched YouTube videos and learned so much from them. I practiced on her and now I think I’ve got it! Now, she loves when I do her hair and I’m more comfortable doing it. Today I had to do some finger coils on her hair and she absolutely loved it. I even let her pick out her headband! Here is the list of products used during her normal regimen and today: Mane‘n Tail - Deep Moisturizing Shampooand SheaMoisture - Jamaican Black Castor Oil Strengthen & Restore Rinse-Out Conditionerwere used for washing her hair. cantu - Shea Butter Leave in Conditioning Repair Cream and SheaMoisture - Coconut & Hibiscus, Kids Curling Butter Creamwere used on her hair as leave ins. Hot Six Oil, SheaMoisture - 100% Extra Virgin Coconut Oil, ECOCO - Eco Style Olive Oil GelandMiss Jessie's - Pillow Soft Curlswere used to seal in moisture as well as for styling her amazingly curly 3C/4A hair.

SinnamorollzThanks so much!!! I love her hair too. Her hair is brown and turns reddish brown at the ends. It’s so full and curly. She likes headbands and pearl or glitter clips more than bobos but I wish she would wear those with barrettes. I just love that she is so stylish, beautiful and smart. I tell her that everyday. I was a tomboy growing up but I admire her because she is not. She is just so confident in herself. I love everything about her.

Scalp Massage for Thicker, Longer, Hydrated Hair
SheaMoisture - 100% Extra Virgin Coconut Oil Happy texture Tuesday and scalp massage 💆 day. This coconut oil by @sheamoisture is my go to for the whole family. Once every two weeks I massage this into my scalp as well as both of my kiddos. It’s best applied warmed up in morning and washed out at night.
Morning Vs Night Skincare Routine
There is a difference with products and routine when it comes to Morning and Night time skin care. ❤️Products and routine varies depending on skin type. This is a simple morning and night skincare routine difference for you to work with❤️ 🌞Morning Skincare Routine🌞 Morning skincare routines are lightweight and simple (3 to 4 steps) The reason your morning skincare routine should be light is because you are active during the day, wearing makeup etc. This can cause you to sweat, produce more oil, expose your skin to the elements like pollution etc. Lightweight products are water based, thinner consistency and absorb easily. Also your morning routine will maintain your skin keeping it clear, balanced and glowing. My Favorite Morning Skincare Products DR. BRONNER'S - Baby Unscented Pure-Castile Liquid Soap DICKINSON'S - Witch Hazel Liquid DERMA•E - Vitamin C Concentrated Serum SheaMoisture - 100% Virgin Coconut Oil Daily Hydration Face Lotion 🌚Night Skincare Routine🌚 Night skincare routines are heavier and have more steps ( 6 to 7) The reason why night time routines are heavier is because you are ending the day ( cleansing , removing makeover) etc and rejuvenating your skin. Night is the best time to utilize skin treatments and mask because you are getting ready to sleep. While sleeping your skin repairs itself and has the time to absorb all the benefits of your products. My Favorite Night Skincare Products Nolaskinsentials - Glycolic Foam Cleanser artnaturals - Rose Water Toner teamí - Hibiscus Infused Vitamin C Serum SheaMoisture - African Black Soap Clarifying Mud Mask SheaMoisture - 100% Virgin Coconut Oil Daily Hydration Face Lotion SheaMoisture - 100% Extra Virgin Coconut Oil Hopefully this is helpful when it comes to what you should do for a morning vs night skincare routine, any questions comment below #cheriecreator
I promise you will fall in love with washing hair!!! 💓💓
Recently I've obsessed with Mane'n Tail! I gonna share with you guys some of their best-sellers! 😊😊 Let me first talk about their shampoo. Mane‘n Tail - Deep Moisturizing Shampoo I like their simple and clear formula: Low acid olive oil for repairing, hydrolyzed collagen for moisturizing, and coconut oil for softening. It meets all my basic requirements. The foam it creates is very rich and soft and it feels very nice massaged into my scalp. It also cleans my hair well, and doesn't leave it feeling dry after it's washed off either. I love the hair conditioner too! Mane‘n Tail - Deep Moisturizing Conditioner Compared with other hair conditioners in the same price range, I think this one is one of the best! The yellow one has a more fluid consistency. It's quickly absorbed by my hair which feels very smooth after using it. A little amount is enough for a whole lot of hair. I highly recommend it!!
CG Method-Friendly Curl Defining Gels for Summer
Summer is around the corner in the Southern Hemisphere. In Australia, the weather is already warming up and the sun is getting shinier by the day ☀️ With a humid climate on the way, you’ll want to protect your wavy, curly and coils hair with moisture. You’ll also need a curl defining gel that can withstand the conditions. Here are some examples of affordable curl defining gels that are Curly Girl Method friendly for your upcoming summer adventures: What is Curl Defining Gel? This type of product is designed to tame and define curls by trapping moisture in the hair and protecting it from frizz. This is all whilst enhancing your natural curly texture. Wavy Hair Textures: AA curl defining gel might be too heavy for waves. Try lighter styling products like creams or mousses. Try kms - Curlup Control Creme or MATRIX - Curl Please Super Defrizzer . Curly Hair Textures: Those of you with more defined and tighter curls can probably handle a curl defining gel. A gel like aussie - Instant Freeze Hair with Jojoba Oil & Sea Kelp Gel is great for humidity. You can also try BIOSILK - Rock Hard Gelee for another affordable option. Coily Hair Textures: Our coily CGM friends always rave about the cantu - Shea Butter for Natural Hair Coconut Curling Cream and ECOCO - Eco Style Olive Oil Gel for an affordable and long-lasting hold. Why are These Products Curly Girl Method Friendly? The curly girl method approves brands and products that don’t include harmful, drying and dirtying ingredients. These include sulphates, silicones, mineral oils, parabens, alcohols etc. You can use a site like www.isitcg.com to check your products ingredients! Pro Tips for Using Curl Defining Gel: 🖤 Most hair types will benefit from additional moisture during the warmer months. 🖤 When you get out the shower after washing your hair, wring some water out, take a blob of leave in conditioner, and squeeze it into your hair. 🖤 Scrunch from the ends up to the root. 🖤 Follow this up with a blob of curl defining gel, mousse or cream. Scrunch it into your hair to lock in the moisture and encourage a curly texture. 🖤 Towels can be damaging to curly hair so scrunch with an old t-shirt to dry off the hair some more.
Shoutout to when first day wash and go’s turn out as planned 💙💙💙 Products: #SheaMoisture - Raw Shea Butter Restorative Conditioner #Ouidad - Curl Quencher Moisturizing Shampoo #ECOCO - Eco Style Olive Oil Gel
Revlon one step review + thanks for 1k!
Christmas was extremely good to me last year (ah that sounds so weird 😣) I received a lot of things I was thankful for and one of those things ended up being my REVLON - Salon One-Step Hair Dryer and Volumizer ... okay so technically my mom told me to buy it as her gift to me but hey a gift is a gift 😂 Let me just start off by saying I have extremely thiccckkkk 4b/c hair. This went through my hair like nobodies business without me risking carpal tunnel like blowing my hair out with a blow dryer and brush does 😂 I was so amazed at how well it did because I thought it wouldn’t be heavy duty enough to get the job done and it was! Now I will say that a key to me doing my hair thoroughly was parting my hair. Usually when I do my hair I do four parts. I part my hair down the middle breaking it into 2 and then I part each section in half give me 4 parts in total. When I was using this I think I had 16 parts in total. Sounds super crazy and time consuming but I promise it wasn’t. I also made sure that I had my heat protectant on deck. I used twisted sista blow out creme and an ors olive oil heat protectant. I also deep conditioned my hair with the aussie - 3 Minute Miracle Moist Deep Conditioner for like an hour or two before blowing my hair out. As seen in the last picture I currently have my hair braided down. Over quarantine I’ve become a sucker for protective styles so I’ll braid my hair down like it’s nothing 😂 I really like the length blowing my hair out gave me. So this is my testimony for my coily girls! Also thank you for 1k everybody! This is really unreal to me (bc I have never been this popular before Omg) and I can’t wait to give you guys more content :) thank you so much for following me and reading my posts, it means so much to me ❤️
Product Junkie? More like Family Friendly 🥰
There are a lot of products seen here (and some not featured here)that are used on a daily basis BUT I use them all and being in a house with 4 other people (my husband, my kids and myself), I’m not the only one who uses them. Here is a list of some products used and their star rating. The only ones that will be explained are the kid friendly options and not included is the ordinary which has a separate post already on my page: CeraVe - Hydrating Cream-To-Foam Cleanser For me, this product is a 5 out 5 but My eldest son says that it is slightly stripping to his skin even though it works for him. My husband also likes it! CeraVe - SA Smoothing Cleanser bliss - Clear Genius Clarifying Toner + Serum My husband stopped using it complaining about its texture and not seeing any results. My eldest son lives for this saying it feels soothing on the skin and I have to agree!! CeraVe - CeraVe Moisturising Cream Everyone in the family uses it except the youngest child who we use Eucerin cream for. Very good moisturizer and is a great family friendly product. bliss - Pore Patrol Clay-to-Foam Purifying Cleanser My eldest son uses this one more than me! Works miracles on pores and has a deeper cleanse than most pore centered cleaners. For me this is used maybe once or twice a week (same as the SA CLEANSER). Coppertone - Pure & Simple SPF 50 Sunscreen Lotion I’ve spoken on this before - initial white cast is awful but after a few minutes, it airs out and dies down! My both my sons hate the stuff but it has done wonders for their hyperpigmentation issues. I wish mines were so easily dealt with. Don’t get me wrong - it helps BUT not too much of a life changing effect is going on over here. SheaMoisture - Jamaican Black Castor Oil Strengthen & Restore Rinse-Out Conditioner Absolutely, positively brilliant product. Everyone in my house uses this one. Helps hair and has that drastic life changing effect on hair (our house has 3C to 4C hair). SheaMoisture - Coconut & Hibiscus Curl & Shine Conditioner This is mostly only used on my daughters hair and Her hair reacts positively to it. Detangling is earlier, her hair is shinier and healthier. It’s a great product. Not as thick as it used to be but still great! Carol's Daughter - Goddess Strength Divine Strength Leave In Cream With Castor Oil Again, very family friendly product! Makes hair feel great without weighing it down. With hair type range being so broad in our household, it’s nice to have a product everyone in the house can use! Products not listed but deserve mention: Hot Six Oil : This product can be used for hair skin and nails. I use it to seal ends, after baths and even treat eczema!
Need Curl Help?!
Have you struggled to find the perfect products for your curly hair routine? Well look no further, I have the answer- Miss Jessie’s! Miss Jessie’s has a wide variety of hair products that cater to all natural hair types! Whether you have beach waves to a thicker grade of hair this brand has you covered! The two products in my picture show the end result after using both products in the photo. I have tried dozens of hair products and these buy far, since transitioning to natural hair, have been my favorite go to products to use. Both products give you the hold you need while not leaving hair in a hard “crunchy” state. Your hair will feel light and fluffy! The Leave-in Condish is not thick in texture but i wouldn’t say it’s light weight either. I would say it’s the perfect weight for the desired wash and go look you are trying to achieve. The smell is also very nice. It’s a fresh smell that both men and women can use. The Pillow Soft Curls cream is AMAZING! I’m seriously obsessed with this product! It’s a cream product that pairs perfectly with the condition to provide and amazing wash n go look! This cream based product is not thick at all and definitely helps to define your curl pattern! The product has a GREAT smell! Smells like fresh linen and leaves your hair smelling fresh and clean throughout the whole day! So if you ask me what my go to products are for perfectly defined pillow soft bouncy curls, the answer is MISS JESSIES!!!! I hope my review is helpful for you! Disclaimer- my hair type is 3b/3c ish and these products work perfectly on my hair type, however, there are a wide variety of products that this brand offers. If you have a different hair type I’d recommend trying other products from the brand as well until you find the one that works best for your hair because I will say products results do vary from hair type to hair type. *Remember- Patience is key when finding the best hair products! #Cheriecreator #beautywithoutbarriers Miss Jessie's - Pillow Soft Curls Miss Jessie's - Leave In Condish - Lightweight Leave-in Conditioner
🌀 drugstore curly hair care - miss Jessie’s 🌀
🌀 miss Jessie’s is one of the best drugstore hair care brands for natural & textured hair. I became a fan of their products when I did a big chop and got very into learning how to care for my naturally curly hair 🌀 Miss Jessie's - Jelly Soft Curls was perfect for those days when I wanted to really enhance my curl pattern with a gel, especially in the beginning when my hair was much shorter and the curls were more unruly. The reason this one is great is because it shaped my curls without any crunch or flaking. 🌀Miss Jessie's - Pillow Soft Curls was great when my hair was longer and I needed a cream to not only smooth and style my curls, but also add some weight to keep my curls down and frizz free. 🌀both of these products have fragrance, to me they smell like fabric softener which I love but I know it’s not for everyone. #cheriepartner
Do you like my curly hair? (2c 3a/low porosity) ?
I have 2c 3a/low porosity hair and I'd like to share some hare care experience with you guys in Cherie. Pic 1 Another washday using giovanni products. My hair even resisted (for a short time) the humidity outside. What's your miracle product for humidity? Pic 2 An idea if your hair didn't turn as expected after a refresh or if you have to tie it at work. Big thanks to my great friend who helped to turn my messy hair today into a cute low bun. Pic3 Is my Day 2 hair. Washed and conditioned with SheaMoisture - Purple Rice Water Shampoo. Styled with giovani leave-in and flaxseed gel, my favorite ever. Whats your fav curly hair products?

Help! Dry curly hair. Prone to itchy scalp.
So I try taking care of my boyfriends curly hair because he is clueless when it comes to caring for it. If he could use men and shoulders everyday, he would. His hair is generally very dry and VERY prone to matting. It’s to the point where when he showers, he can’t distribute conditioner properly through his hair because of the blocks of matted hair he gets. I try to keep up, but it seems like it only takes a day before his hair starts tangling and matting together. On his wash days, his shampoo varies because I try to get him to use good curly hair products but he gets VERY dry scalp. To the point where he can’t stop itching his head and his scalp gets red and flaky. When this happens, the only thing that helps is Head and Shoulders Dry and Itchy scalp care. Since he normally uses such a drying shampoo, I make him use SheaMoisture - Raw Shea Butter Moisture Retention Conditioner After he showers, I de tangle his hair with ogx - Pracaxi Oil Deeply Restoring Recovery Combing Cream and a paddle brush. I know I know. Curly hair shouldn’t be brushed with something like that but his hair gets so incredibly matted that if I use anything else it either a) breaks or b) doesn’t even penetrate his hair deep enough to de tangle. I guess my question is, what do I do? And what products should I look into? Any techniques I should try to diminish the matting?

This DIY treatment will DEFRIZZ your hair 🤭
Cherry Lola Treatment! This is one of my favorite natural hair hydration secrets. This method was created by popular YouTube hair blogger ~Cherry Lola~ hehe and it has changed my hair for the best. *Disclaimer* It’s a little stinky and messy so make sure to do it on a day you aren’t rushing to get anywhere. All you need is: 1-2 Cups depending on hair length- Greek Yogurt(Or Mayonnaise) for protein base 2 Tbs Braggs Amino Acids (the secret sauce) 2Tbs Raw Honey- Natural humectant that will help draw in some moisture 2 Tbs Baking Soda- This is opening up the hair’s shaft to allow for better product penetration. Make sure you hair is fully saturated, leave on for about 30 mins and rise with cool water! This treatment is amazing for any hair texture to help with hydration and defrizzing. But for naturals? WHEW! Concentrate this on your roots, and banish the puffiness, and get seriously defined curls. This is a super affordable way to get amazing results and keep up your hair health. I would recommend 1x a month.
4 things you need to know about buzz cuts!
1)You still have to shampoo and condition Even though your hair may now be extremely short, it still requires care. As oils and dirt can still accumulate, make sure to wash your hair properly with shampoo and conditioner. Moisturizing formulas are ideal since dryness is visible with such a short style 2)Protect your scalp from the sun! Your vulnerable scalp skin is more exposed than ever to the effects of the sun. Be sure to apply sunscreen regularly and wear a hat to keep that delicate skin protected. 3)Take active measures to avoid dry and flaking scalps Flaky and dry scalps are not fun to have, especially when you have a buzz cut because you can see everything. Make sure that you are drinking plenty of water to keep hydrated. Also, try giving yourself regular scalp massages to stimulate blood flow all over your head. Using a purifying shampoo like davines - Purifyng Shampoo is a great shampoo to use once a week to prevent any dryness. It has anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial polyphenols and sugars that help create a healthy scalp. dandelion helps to cleanse and balance without causing irritation. This stuff works miracles 4) You still need styling products Depending on how short or long your buzz cut is, you may choose to either forgo all additional hair styling products or pick out a wax or balm to help style your hair. I recommend R+Co - Control Flexible Paste it’s a light flexible paste that is sure to keep your hair looking put together and prevent any fly aways. To apply, rub a small amount between your palms and distribute through your hair, shaping it into your buzz cut. Buzz cuts are so much fun to have an I hope that my pointers have helped you newbies find your way in your buzz cut journey

A Curl’s Holy Grail: Styling Brush✨
DENMAN - D3 Rose Gold Crown Original Styler 7 Row Who is the Denman Styling Brush for? 💎 If you’re transitioning to wearing your natural curls, you know the struggles of finger coiling and undefined curls. The years of heat, chemical, or mechanical (dry brushing) damage has ruined the natural curl formation. and when trying to “encourage your curls” and revive them it really feels like a lost cause. 🤦🏽♂️ 💎 For some people chopping ✂️all the damaged and improperly cared for hair is a great way of hitting the reset button, but for people who resist the “big chop” 💇🏽♀️➡️💇🏽or want to maintain their length, finger coiling and really working with your hair can be frustrating, ⏳time consuming, and unrewarding during the process. Why does this brush matter to my curly hair? 💎 I have very long hair, and in combination with unruly transitioning hair, I found the Denman Styling brush to be so helpful. Going from finger coiling to styling with the Denman brush, I had quicker results and it’s so easy to use. The weight of the brush feels luxurious yet light. Because of its thin head it helped with dexterity and my hand didn’t feel like it was holding a brush at all. After using its easy to wash 🧼 (warm water and soap) and the components even come apart is your need deep cleaning. 💎 For newbies I suggest looking up 👩🏼🦱Manes By Mell and other wonderful YouTubers to learn how to section/detangle hair in order to style with the Denman brush. This brush is designed with stiff long bristles, not suitable for detangling! 💎 ROUTINE - after showering 🚿 When detangling I recommend a tangle teezer of wet brush using a leave in conditioner. As you detangle, braid the sections so they don’t tangle as you move around. Don’t remove the braids until you’re ready to begin styling with a curling cream (to seal in moisture) and the Denman brush to define! ** ALWAYS keep the hair damp during styling and detangling 🔫 Official Verdict: 💎Overall, I have never been happier and more impressed with the definition in my hair, I think this a wonderful product that any wavy, curly, or coily person can easily get into. I looked for cheaper pricing, but Amazon and other sites were barely cheaper, and many people suspected them to be fakes. I honestly think 20$ for this gorgeous high quality brush is worth it, and I highly suggest you buy from the official website to get it. Stay Strong Curlies! 💎Styling naturally curly (especially coily) hair is not an easy undertaking, since finding and balancing the perfect ingredients, hair products, routine, and styling techniques are essential to healthy natural curls ⚖️. So if you’re having a tough time (like I am) and you’re not seeing instant⚡️results, that’s normal! Most people don’t have the money💸or time⏱to throw money at products frivolously, so it may be a hassle now, but the more you work with your hair the healthier and easier it’ll become
