Empties: Which one will I repurchase next year?
I have finally gotten through a few bottles of The Ordinary’s products I purchased a few months ago and I can honestly say I am still a huge fan of The Ordinary. They have such affordable skincare and it really does work. The Ordinary - Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5

Is this $125 Detox Night Cream Worth It?
Hey Cherie Fam 🍒 I have been doing makeup looks and raving about my recent make up purchases lately. I thought it’s time to give the skin care products I’ve been loving lately some attention. You know that you can’t have great makeup unless you have great a great makeup base aka having a great skin care routine. I received Grown Alchemist Detox Night Cream on my November premium box from Boxycharm. I have a somewhat strict skin care routine and I am skeptical introducing a new product to my routine. I researched this brand thoroughly and read hundreds of reviews online. I also examined the ingredient list. Grown Alchemist is founded by brothers who discovered ground breaking research that proved the continuous use of natural ingredients. They developed formulas with a unique synergy between biology and cosmetic chemistry. Their headquarters are located in Melbourne, Australia. (Source: website) The detox night cream is described as a detoxifying cream formulated with peptide-3, echinacea vitamins, hyaluronic acid and essential omega fatty acids such as reishi extract. This product claims to regenerate the skin, reducing the appearance of fine lines + wrinkles resulting in radiant and youthful looking skin. This product retails for $125 USD for 40ml. #Grown Alchemist - Detox Night Cream[products]# I actually really like this product. I use it with my DE framboos and The Ordinary virgin marula oil at night. I noticed my skin is a lot more glowy and I have less pores and brighter skin when I wake up in the morning. It has a thick consistency, but doesn’t feel heavy and has a scent similar to roses. I am actually not a fan of the smell because I prefer no fragrance. I think this is the perfect night cream especially during the winter months. However, I will not be repurchasing when I run out. While I am a fan of this product and think it works well, I don’t think it’s worth $125 for a 40ml. There are cheaper alternatives in the market with the same ingredients. If money isn’t an issue to you, then I say go for it! I saw a huge difference within a week. It’s just not in my budget unfortunately. DRUNK ELEPHANT - T.L.C. Framboos Glycolic Resurfacing Night Serum The Ordinary - 100% Cold Pressed Virgin Marula Oil Conclusion: Great product and I saw a difference within a week, but it’s too pricy and will not re-purchase because there are alternative brands in the market with the same ingredients for a fraction of the price. Xoxo, Francesca 💋
🥰About to try something 🆕🥳
NEIBOURHOOD BOTANICALS - The Daily Glow Facial Oilhas been on my radar after a friend raved about it during a exceptionally long FaceTime call. I saw it on sale and decided to purchase it. I was running out of my two facial oils -The Ordinary - 100% Cold Pressed Virgin Marula Oil and The Ordinary - 100% Organic Cold-Pressed Moroccan Argan Oil - and maybe I need to try something new. I’m hoping it lives up to the hype!

My Acne Skincare Routine - Results in 4 Days✨
I have always struggled with dry skin + acne since I was 18 and the moment I saw significant results on my acne, I knew that the only way I could find the one product to work on my skin type is if I get myself educated and open to trying out new things even if I think it won’t work since I am acne-prone. SWIPE LEFT TO SEE MY RESULTS: I started taking photos of myself to keep track of what I’ve been using that I can’t see by looking in the mirror everyday! (PRO TIP) So, I’m so glad to finally share this for everyone to keep in mind when trying out products and hopefully it will encourage you to try it out for yourself. Of course you need to do your research but hey, skincare is all about trial and error right? At least now you know what you don’t know! Here’s a sneak peak of my acne skincare routine👇🏼 DAILY AM & PM ROUTINE: Cetaphil - Cetaphil Gentle Foaming Cleanser 1 squeeze + to gentle cleanse my sensitive skin The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% 2 drops + for extra and clear overall imperfections The Ordinary - Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5 2-3 drops + bring hydration to my skin CeraVe - Moisturizing Cream For Normal To Dry Skin 1 inch or fingertip size + to moisturize CeraVe - Ultra-Light Moisturizing Lotion SPF 30 For Normal To Oily Skin half a pump + I use it as my sunscreen for anti-aging Benzagel - Acne Gel 5% the reason why I got results in 4 days! Less is more due to concentration. I only applied on acne spots A few tips while using the products + keep in mind: For each products, I wait 1 min each to let it seep in to my skin applied by pressing the product on my skin to avoid premature aging applied my moisturizer and sunscreen lifting upwards (never down or circular motion) and enough to disperse the product but not as much touching my skin, if that makes sense I stopped picking my skin especially even if it was flaky! I had that habit for a couple of months which made my acne worst with marks before I tried the benzoly. So please take everyone’s advise on this! If you had to scratch your nose or you’re itchy, I usually just lightly press my fingernails on my skin. Weird but it helped to avoid irritation while I have my products on and if your hands are 100% clean, it won’t do anything + itch is gone! I hope you understood what I mean by pressing your fingernails Consistency and discpline is key! I don’t know why people don’t include disciple because without it, consistency is nothing. It’s also like saying something you don’t mean Notice that I include how much I used? Less is more and clearly, you can see the difference Notice how I only took a photo on the left side of my face? That can only mean because of my pillow. Please change it! Of course 4 days isn’t enough to get clear skin but it’s always a step closer to reach my goals so patience is also key!
🌟MOST REPURCHASED ORDINARY PRODUCTS🌟
The ordinary is definitely one of the hottest brands of 2020. They formulate single ingredient products that definitely work! In august 2020, I entered the skincare community, completely a newbie, didn’t know about ingredients, or what was good/bad for my skin. The ordinary was the first brand that I was introduced to, and the nicinamide & hyaluronic acid were the first two products that I ordered. The niacinamide works amazing. It does tend to be a bit sticky, and it does sting if I have any blemishes on my face that are exposed to air (aka I popped it, don’t tell my derm 🤐). If they made a 5%, I would be allll over it. Hyaluronic acid serum is amazing. Applies smoothly, absorbed quickly. Literally everything you want in a hyaluronic acid serum. The mask is great! I only use this mask in my t-zone when I feel like I’m producing more oil than normal. My cheeks are dry, so I dont use this mask on those areas. All in all, big fan of the ordinary, but moving forward I may dive into products with multiple benefits all in one product!
💡The Ordinary, The Extraordinary
When it comes to skincare, The Ordinary has put themselves on a whole new level that many brands just can't compete with. You may have heard of this Toronto based company before. It shook the beauty world to its core when it launched 4 years ago with a $6 bottle of retinol. Which, might not sound so groundbreaking now but back in the day, a bottle of retinol would set you back a good $30. They are nothing less than game-changers.
The Ordinary? More like extraordinary!!
With The Ordinary growing increasingly popular by the day, I thought I’d review some of my The Ordinary products! There’s so many reviews out there already, so I’m going to simplify mine and keep them really short and simple! (From left to right) Salicylic Acid 2% Masque: Got it to clear up some blackheads on my nose, but ended feeling really grainy and I didn’t see results. Didn’t like. Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5: Really sticky initially, but after a minute or so, it sinks into your skin. Can be tacky upon initial application. Like!! Multi-Peptide Serum for Hair Density: Almost like water. I apply it at my hairline before bed. I haven’t seen any dramatic results, but I’ve noticed more baby hair. But, not sure if it’s the serum or my new shampoo. Feel meh about this. Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1%: My second bottle! Love it. Not sticky at all, but definitely a little thicker than Glossier’s Super Pure. Can really see the effects. LOVE! 100% Organic Cold-Pressed Rose Hip Seed Oil: Really oily by itself. Perfect when you drop it into your moisturizer. I use less moisturizer and my skin feels so much better! Like! The Ordinary Coverage Foundation: A really good foundation! Dewy finish, but it’s a little runny/liquidy. Great coverage as well and the price is really great. Like! Let me know if any of you guys have tried these products as well! I’d love to hear what you think and your experience.
The Ordinary-100% Organic Cold Pressed Rose Hip Seed Oil
Today I’ve tried Deciem’s Plant-Derived Hemi-Squalane for the first time. Hemi means half, so it’s no wonder that it’s even lighter than normal squalane. I put a drop on my hand and it soaked right in! I didn’t buy it to use it on my skin though, as I personally prefer heavier oils. Instead I used it on my damp hair. So far so good, my hair is a bit softer than normally and a bit less frizzy, even though I used a blowdryer. There’s still some frizz, but I guess that’s just what my hair is like. Pretty good for a product that’s only 3,60 €. One thing irritates me though: The product says it’s plant derived. The website says it’s “produced from the fermentation of sugar-based feedstock”. The inci list states that the only ingredient is C13-16 Isoparaffin. Am I wrong assuming that paraffin is always mineral oil? Any chemists here that can explain this? I don’t mind mineral oil under certain circumstances, but this confuses me. Definitely going to message Deciem and ask them about it. Will share when I get a reply ☺️☺️

Need some vitamin C(affeine) ☕️
• the ordinary | caffeine solution 5% + EGCG (1oz/30 mL for $6.70 USD) 💚 • the ordinary’s caffeine serum, with the pH of 4.5-5.0, with caffeine, and with green tea catechin, is said to visibly target and reduce the appearance of eye contour pigmentation 👀 (i.e. to reduce dark undereye circles, which are not caused by the shadows of natural bone structure) and to reduce appearance of puffiness. This formula is oil-free, fragrance-free, and eye-safe. • This concentrated eye serum is intended specifically for eye use; moreover, it is good for all skin types (normal, oily, combo, dry, and sensitive) ☺️ • The product is of a thick, almost jelly-like consistency, ✨with a slight tint of yellow-beige color✨ It truly has no scent. • I had a neutral experience with this product; and, while I used it daily for several months (upwards of 7 months), I then took a long break from it and have not picked it back up since then. I decided to try it when I first discovered The Ordinary; the brand was affordable and seemed straightforward with respect to ingredients. 💌 • Again, my feelings are neutral. I don’t struggle with dark undereye circles, so I can’t speak to the product’s ability to reduce the appearance of them; however, I do struggle with puffiness and I do believe this product helps with puffy eyes. • I like it, because it’s reasonably-priced and it does not cause any irritation. I usually pull a Beyonce and use this serum all over my face; started doing this because I want to use the product before its expiration date. • I recommend it to anyone who wants to feel like Beyonce, applying an eye product all over the face, but can’t afford a bougie eye $erum 👑 I recommend it to people with puffy eyes in the morning; this helps ease the puffiness. • I think the product is worth the $6.70 USD. Honestly, it didn’t hurt my skin in any way; thus, I believe it doesn’t hurt to try this product out. If it doesn’t work well for the undereye darkness, it can help with puffiness and you can use it all over your face w/o feeling guilty, on account of the low cost. 💵 • 3/5 bc I am neutral toward it 🌟🌟🌟
