This helped smooth out my skin for only $17
Ok y’all so today we’re talking about exfoliators! Why use them?
They help remove the outer layer of dead skin cell buildup on your skin (When you have this buildup and don’t use an exfoliator it clogs up your pores and actually leads to some breakouts and we don’t want that honey!!)
by removing the dead skin cells it helps the skin appear and feel smoother which can help certain skin types
when the dead skin is gone our skin produces NEW✨ healthier skin cells to the surface which they then thank us by holding water better allowing our moisturizers to penetrate deeper!!With that being said, some exfoliators work better than others and some can be very harmful depending on your skin type. I used to use the saint Ives scrub which although did clean my face (it hurt, caused irritation and completely dried out my skin) and I thought all Hope was lost... until I found this bad boy from Cocokind! What is Cocokind’s Sea Miss Exfoliator? It does everything mentioned above WITHOUT stripping your skin barrier, promotes a smooth and radiant complexion, is certified organic AND vegan 🌱 My experience: It is gentle enough that you can use it 3-4x a week, so there have been weeks where I do it 4 times vs other weeks I do it about 2 weeks and that is one reason I love it! I have been using it for over a year and I find when I do use it consistently my skin is smoother, glowing and clean. Ingredients:
contains Irish moss powder: full of calcium, magnesium, and vitamins that help nourish the skin and support elasticity
grape seed powderHow to use it:
I use a dime size amount (sometimes a quarter when I exfoliate my neck-DO NOT FORGET THE NECK!!!) and mix it in a bowl with a FEW drops of water (less water=thicker paste to get more exfoliating action, more water=thinner paste for a less exfoliating)
massage the paste into your skin for 1 minute (play your favorite tune) and then wash it off with warm water!
pro tip✨: when I want a more gentle exfoliation I use my finger tips but when I feel extra dirt on my skin I use my palms for a slightly more deeper exfoliating experience! As you can see in the photo I have a big breakout on my left cheek and with this gentle exfoliator I was still able to exfoliate without it hurting. If you made it this far please feel free to comment whether you’ve tried this product or what exfoliators YOU swear by and why! Again, if you are interested in any Cocokind products please drop some questions and don’t forget to use my code ‘SEBASTIAN10’ for a discount! ✨❣️

Smooth skin ahead!
This Cocokind exfoliator is amazing... as in, your face will feel as smooth as a baby’s when you’re done with it👶 it helps me with clogged pores and rough texture, and it even faded some old acne scars on my face! I also struggled with some flaking skin around my mouth and chin awhile ago and this was super effective at sloughing it away. Cocokind products are clean, conscious, affordable and this one comes in a little glass bottle! The texture is very finely ground powder (Irish moss powder) which you mix with a small amount of water to make a paste. Then apply to face and rub around. It is a very gentle exfoliating product, and I love that you can make it however thick or runny you want it. The smell is strange, somewhat earthy or like the moss maybe??! I personally don’t mind the smell at all, because I prefer more natural scents. This physical exfoliant has been an absolute favorite of mine, and a definite repurchase. I don’t like to imagine my life without it lol and I’m on my second bottle right now. This mineral rich exfoliator is non-GMO, USDA organic and vegan! cocokind - Sea Moss Exfoliator
This Bottle Saw It All
Hey everyone! So this isn’t going to be a pretty post because this bottle has went through hell and back. Believe it or not but this was once a pretty bottle of cleanse from Kate Somerville. I actually finished it a month ago but kept putting off posting it because everything rubbed off. This is one this I actually really really really hated about this product. Whenever I’d go to wash my face the label would flake off and I’d feel it on my face as I rubbed it😖 It really grossed me out so I ended up just rubbing the label off completely by hand to avoid more flaking. Besides that I actually think it did a great job cleansing my skin! If I wasn’t such a skin care whore I’d probably repurchase it but it’s rare that I stay loyal to a cleanser🤷🏻♀️ Anyway I bought her at Sephora for $38 and it lasted me three months of washing my face twice a day. It claims gently cleanse the skin of oil and make up without stripping the skin. It also claims that users noticed pores were noticeably cleansed and purified. Personally I always double cleanse whenever I wear makeup so I can’t confirm that on its own this product will completely wash off makeup completely BUT it did leave my skin feeling baby soft. Although I didn’t notice my pores clearing up. I have a significant amount of black heads on my skin and pretty large pores but it didn’t do them any justice. It didn’t strip my skin of its natural oils and it didn’t break me out. It did help with any texture that i had on my skin. All in all I think this is a great basic cleanser. I kind of wish I was using it now because the cleanser I’m testing at the moment is just a big fail. 🤦🏻♀️ Stay tuned for that.

Shasta AHA Refining Acid Wash
Hola gals 💕 So I had already written my whole review on this product I saved it as a drafts, but I accidentally logged out of the app and it deleted it :( I was so annoyed but I have to deliver the review to y’all 💕👏🏼👏🏼 I been searching for a new cleanser that can help me clear a few breakouts, I get here at there. Specially when menstruating. Those times are the worst!!! I’m currently using the Cosrx Salicylic Acid Daily Gentle cleanser but I really wanted to switch up and use something else since I been using the product for almost 2 years. I came across all the hype for Holifrog Cleansers all over Instagram. I decided to give in and go for it. Is pretty pricey for a cleanser $38 compare to my usual $7 cleanser. This cleanser is formulated with a blend of acids ✨Glycolic ✨Mandelic ✨Lactic ✨Tartaric ✨Citric acids It also contains ✨Australian Caviar Lime Extract ✨Tamanu Oil ✨Rosehip Oil ✨Aloe Vera This cleanser is such a light cleanser, doesn’t foam. Helps you combat breakouts, smooths pores, rough texture and dullness. I really like how this cleanser helps with all my skin concerns. I noticed such a different on my first use, the following morning my skin texture was so smooth. I also became aware this cleanser made my t-zone, apples of my cheek got really irritated. The rest of my face was totally normal. I put it to the test again last night and it irritated the same areas. I will still continue to use this, cause maybe my skin is not used to all the type of AHA acids ingredients that has. I hope with time my skin gets use to it 🙏. A Wash That Actually Works!
I started using this face was about a month ago after it was recommended to me in Ulta. It had worked WONDERS!! Claims: breakout fighting, clears dead skin cells + dirt + excess oils My thoughts: Ever since I started using this my breakouts have gone WAY down. You can barely see them! They are almost gone☺️ I would highly recommended this to anyone struggling with breakouts and clogged pores. (My pores are so much better- less clogged and smaller!!) 10/10- would recommend!

Product Empty: Olehenriksen Oil Control Cleanser
Claims: Skin type: oily & combo skin Solution: oiliness, pores & acne /blemishes What it does: a pore-purifying cleanser with AHA’s to help reduce excess oil and unclog pores, without stripping skin. Formulated with ‘Green Fusion Complex’ and neem seed oil, it deep cleans and helps to unclog and purify pores. AHA’s -glycolic and lactic acid- help to lift dead skin cells that can leave pores clogged. My Thoughts 💭 This cleanser did help with my acne and my pores seemed less clogged as well. I didn’t notice much change in my oiliness, but that’s OK. The eucalyptus scent is invigorating as well as relaxing. I do have one hang up and that’s the fact that Olehenriksen uses palm oil, I really enjoyed this cleanser, it’s sad because this brand has enough resources to find a substitute and stop the devastating effect of growing and harvesting palm oil😔 I’m giving 5⭐️ because the product helped my acne a lot... I’m not sure if I’m going to repurchase, if any one has any suggestions I’m all ears.

1- CBD Jelly Anti-Acne Facial Cleanser- This one also contains CBD and Salicylic Acid, so together they help fighting inflammation. It helps fight buildup and congested pores. I have dry skin and it does not dry me out. It helped me during a little hormonal break out. 2- CBD Leaf Acne Patches- Are also formulated with Salicylic acid and CBD. It will reduce post inflammation and speed up healing. These are seriously good! I had two little ones that appear due to that time of the month and these helped with the inflammation. It really was reduced. I highly recommend these.

St Ives Blackhead Clearing Green Tea Scrub
The St Ives Blackhead Clearing Green Tea Scrub is such an OG product for me - I was obsessed with St Ives products at the very beginning of my skincare journey (perhaps 2-3 years ago?) and their cleansers/scrubs were like my go-to skincare product when I thought my skin needed a little “boost”. Of course, although I now know that their facial scrubs aren’t exactly the best thing to use on your face 🥴, but I kept the green tea scrub because it wasn’t as harsh as their apricot counterpart. This facial scrub is a rather straightforward product - its focus is to unclog your pores, clear those blackheads, and calm any redness at the same time. If you have congested skin, this product aims to clear that right up 😜 This cleansing scrub has a very grainy texture - its full of these little exfoliating particles - and it is very dense. You will need to wet your face before using this though because if you apply this to dry skin it is going to irritate your skin further. How I used this was to generously scrub this all over my damp skin and then wash it off with water (just reading about this now makes me cringe at how badly I treat my skin eckkk). The end result is that squeaky clean feeling that can be a little harsh for sensitive skin types. One great thing about this scrub is that doesn’t have any adverse effects on my skin, and it doesn’t break me out or give me lasting redness after use. I would think it’s a pretty gentle scrub, but you definitely cannot use this every day. An ideal number of times you can use this would be 2-3x a week at the most. Nevertheless though, I don’t think I would repurchase this - I see much better results from chemical exfoliators without the risk of accidentally irritating my skin. While I loved this product 2-3 years ago, it has definitely been replaced by gentler chemical exfoliators that see better results on my face. It probably won’t be my first pick for an exfoliator recommendation either. I know some people still prefer physical exfoliation, and this is a affordable and good product at that, but with all the other amazing exfoliators in the market, this unfortunately falls short for me. My Cherie rating for this would be 3/5! ST. Ives - BLACKHEAD CLEARING GREEN TEA SCRUB

My Mental Wellness Improved Through My Self AcceptanceWhen I was around 13 or 14 years old, I remember routinely taking one of my older sister’s black eyeliner pencils before school every morning. I’d arrive early so that I could slip away to the girl’s bathroom to apply a single black line to my eyelids. My parents didn’t allow me to wear any makeup at the time. Although this smudgy line on my eyelids didn’t make me look all that much different, I never felt comfortable at school without it. My teenage mind convinced myself that I needed some sort of cosmetic symbol in order to appropriately express my femininity. Up until that point in my life, society had told girls that looked like me - tall, Black, and with kinky hair - that we somehow weren’t as beautiful as the other girls. For far too long, I believed it too.Feb. 17
