My fool proof routine for the perfect base!
Forming a base routine can be so tricky, time consuming, and expensive! Especially with my combo skin! When I wear foundation this is the routine I follow. After my skincare has had a few minutes to soak in, I start with sunscreen! Sunscreen over long term use is going to help your skin look more even and bright! It’s so much easier to get the glass skin effect when you don’t have dark spots or an uneven tan. I’ve been using the LANCÔME - Absolue Premium BX Regenerating and Replenishing Care SPF 15 Skincare

My FAV Foundation for my Skin #CheriePartner
Hey Y’all! So I don’t wear foundation often but when I do I only go for two different ones. Which is The Fenty Foundation (dewy formula) or NYX - Total Control Drop Foundation which is what I’ll be talking about today! 🤎 When looking for a foundation I usually always go for a dewy look. I’m not a huge fan of matte anything. The thing I like about the Total Control drop foundation is that it’s soft matte but can be easily manipulated to give a more dewy look. 🤎 I love the Total Control drop foundation simply because a little goes a long way! I have sensitive combination skin and foundation tends to irritate it. But with this foundation I have found solace! It goes on super smooth and I only need a few drops. I usually go for light coverage as you can see from the pictures. The dropper definitely helps in controlling how much foundation you need. 🤎 Another great thing is that NYX is super affordable and the same applies to this foundation! It’s only about $14 and because you only need a little it lasts for quite a while. I’ve had this bottle for about 6 months and it’s still has a lot! 🤎 When applying the foundation I simply put 1-2 drops on the back of my hand and take NYX - Holographic Halo Liquid Highlighting Brush and dip it in the foundation and just buff it over my skin. I like this brush but I don’t love it. I know it’s a highlighter brush but I just haven’t found a foundation brush that cuts it for me. I would love some suggestions if you guys have some! 🤎 After buffing out the foundation with the brush I take a beauty blender and dip it in the foundation as well to cover any spots I miss. Then I spray the beauty blender with NYX - Dewy Finish Makeup Setting Spray and just blend out a little more this helps add a little bit of a dewy sheen to the foundation. I absolutely love the Dewy Finish setting spray it gives me everything I’m looking for! ✨ In conclusion this foundation is really good and it helps blur out imperfections and has a very buildable formula so it works anywhere from light to full coverage! You can leave it as a soft matte as is or add a nice setting spray to give you any look you desire! ✨I’d love to hear your tips and tricks on foundation and good foundation brush recommendations! ✨ BESOS 😘
Beauty blender dupes ✨
The first makeup sponge I used was the beauty blender pro sponge. I loved it so much. I used it every single day to blend my foundations, blushes, and powders. After using it so much it started looking old and I realized I definitely didn’t want to spend $20 for a sponge. I started trying out so many affordable ones and lots of them didn’t work until... Real techniques miracle complexion sponge, when it’s dry it feels slightly stiff but still nice and soft to the touch. When you wet it it becomes super soft. It blends my foundation very well, similar to the beauty blender at a 1/3 of the price! One of my favorite sponges so far! $5.99 and I’ve found these at marshalls and tj maxx for about $3-4! REAL TECHNIQUES - Miracle Complexion Sponge Hank & Henry midori sponge set, I got this sponge set in my boxycharm and I really like it. The set had the large and small sponge. Slighter stiffer than the real techniques but a nice sponge. The small one is perfect for blending on the inner corners or any hard to reach area. The large sponge gets HUGE when it’s wet, great for apply blush in my opinion and anything you want. Even if it’s kinda stiff this is still very soft. Unfortunately online they’re sold separately $14.00 for the large sponge and $9.00 for the small one. HANK & HENRY - Midori Bundle Miss A AOA studio super soft wonder blender, one of the best really affordable sponges I’ve tried. It’s really soft and blends like a dream. Very very slight stiffness when dry but super soft when wet. Haven’t had any problems with this one. $1.55! I didn’t have mines with me so I attached a picture of it. AOA studio - AOA Wonder Blender Last and definitely not least the original beauty blender in pro, super soft to the touch and incredible at blending. The hype is real. $20 beautyblender - Pro If you want to spend $20 every few months then this sponge is worth it, super great! If you’re like me that prefers a more affordable one than these options are great as well. These all feel great on the skin, blend your makeup and at the end of my makeup routine I’ve found that these all look very similar and almost identical to each other. ☺️✨
Coola sunscreen ☀️🌼
COOLA - Classic Face Sunscreen Moisturizer SPF 50 this absorbed really easily claimed to have “plant powered” ingredients only downside is I got a little bit of acne on my cheek, I never get acne on my cheeks only my forehead and chin get acne like that. It was a little scary and I thought I was going to break out but I haven’t and I’ve been using it for a while now sunscreen always gives me a little acne, even the mineral sunscreen it’s not worth the hype or the price tag 💵 to be straight forward anybody have any good sunscreen recommendations??
Time to say goodbye 👋🏼
For the past like 3 years the COOLA - Classic Face Sunscreen Moisturizer SPF 50 has been my go to sun screen!! There hasn’t been one day I haven’t put this on my face. I’m a skin care junkie but my skin is also sensitive so even though I enjoy trying new products I’m so happy with the sunscreen I just never thought about switching it out. But thanks to all the other skin care lovers on Cherie I think I’m ready to give this a break and try something new😬 I’m hoping to find a new love and not suffer to many break outs along the way hahah. If you’re looking to try a new sunscreen I definitely recommend this one! I always get fragrance free but it also comes in different scents, this sinks into the skin pretty quickly, and sits under makeup very well. On the days I don’t wear makeup which tbh is most I do notice that after a couple hrs of wear it makes me a little greasy but nothing a blotting sheet can’t fix.
Make up and hair haul
This is my second online purchase as of recent. I decided to go a little luxe. Here’s what I got and why! dyson - Airwrap Complete Styler-For Multiple Hair Types and Styles I purchased this after using a friends. I love how it’s a multipurpose tool. I can dry my hair like normal, I can curl my hair or I can even get my hair straight. I went ahead and decided that since it’s so many things in one and that it will last some time I could justify the price. VISEART - Petite Pro 4 Apricotine I purchased this because it honestly is just so pretty. It’s a perfect neutral that can go day or night. It’s perfect for travel! DIOR - Airflash Spray Foundation I work in the beauty industry and I hear so many great things about this foundation. I decided it’s time to just get it. I hope to do an update soon with my opinion on this. dermalogica - Special Cleansing Gel I purchased the mini cleansing gel so I can de some at home peels while working from home. I have so many dermalogica professional products that I want to take advantage of and use them. If there are other esthetician here that want to know what peel I’m doing I’ll make a post! NATASHA DENONA - Diamond & Blush Palette This is a beautiful product. I have yet to use it but in the pan it just glows. It was on sale too! My samples (that I didn’t choose) CHANEL - GABRIELLE CHANEL Eau de Parfum VIKTOR&ROLF - Flowerbomb Eau de Parfum

Foundation Dupes, high end & its drugstore match
ESTĒE LAUDER - Double Wear Stay-in-Place Foundation is such an INCREDIBLE FOUNDATION, I would use this forever but at $52.00, i refuse to do so. Its drugstore dupe in my opinion is REVLON - Colorstay Full Cover Foundation its a close one although on the heavier side- as long as you know how to properly apply foundation you shouldnt be worried. And if you want good coverage to hide blemishes, this product is great! . NARS - All Day Luminous Weightless Foundation $60 for a foundation? i will pass! Love NARS as much as anyone else but thats way too much! The drugstore dupe for Nars foundation, to me at least is L'ORÉAL - Infallible Pro-Matte Liquid Longwear Foundation and its $12.99 currently at ulta but ive seen it on amazon for $10 and i have no complaints- great coverage!!!

Beauty Thanks 😊 🙏
My favorite part of thanksgiving is not food but actually taking a moment to appreciate all of the things I’m thankful for in my life... This has been undisputedly a rough year for everyone but despite it all, we made it this far!!! I’m so thankful that this year has not only taught us to be patient but also gave us a chance to really think about what’s important and really focus on how to treat ourselves better. I myself got to learn more about skincare and all things beauty and try so many different products this year which really helped me improve my skincare routine. Cherie played an important role too when it came to buying some of these products like the PAULA'S CHOICE - Skin Perfecting 2% BHA Liquid Exfoliator that Cherie made me buy. It’s a holy grail in my routine!!! Some other products I tried this year... VERSED - DEW POINT Moisturizing Gel-Cream MAYBELLINE - Lifter Gloss With Hyaluronic Acid LANEIGE - Glowy Makeup Serum OFRA - Foaming Vitamin C Cleanser and the list goes on.... Let me know in the comments what you are truly grateful for? And..... 𝑯𝒂𝒑𝒑𝒚 𝑻𝒉𝒂𝒏𝒌𝒔𝒈𝒊𝒗𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒆𝒗𝒆𝒓𝒚𝒐𝒏𝒆! 🍽🦃
Primerize me, Cap’n! 🦜
Good evening, everyone! Been a busy week for me, so sorry for lack of posts. I got a new mini lighting booth for my Poshmark store and wanted to test it out tonight. Pretty pleased so far 😁 Here are three primers that I’m currently playing with. My tried and true is the Benefit Porefessional Primer. I honestly don’t use it under makeup; I use it to blur my skin and then use translucent powder over it to keep me from getting oily on “no makeup” days. I love the illumination of the pearl version as I still get a healthy little glow going. I’ve yet to try the Laneige one, but have wanted to for a while now. Thankfully, Sephora has been offering samples with orders so I got a couple. The TIS one is a classic Korean primer. It’s probably the only one that has ever worked for me under makeup. My combo skin typically just breaks down any and all primers, so I never use them under makeup. Remember to hydrate and check your WiFi 😘

Dior forever skin glow foundation, is it good?
Start using DIOR - Forever Skin Glow Foundation This fall, because I heard this foundation gives you super pretty and long lasting. My first impression of this foundation is that it is very light weight, and a little dewy. Does it last for 24 hours? Idk cuz I don’t wear it for that long lol. It faded away on my oily nose after 8 hours , but everywhere else stayed put. I used MAYBELLINE - Baby Skin Instant Pore Eraser Primer to prime, and a little Coty AIRSPUN - Loose Face Powder to set everything. Coverage: Medium (you can build it up, but not full coverage) Scent: yes, smells like perfume. I’m not a big fan of it. Will buy again? Maybe, but there are so many foundations out there that just like this. Especially recent years when the glowing skin trend became popular.

This Ingredient Makes Eyeshadow Expensive 😱
GUYS THIS PIGMENT IS CRAZY! GUESS WHAT ITS MADE OUT OF!!!!! 👏 BEETLES 👏 That’s right...SMUSHED AND GROUND UP BEETLES. It’s not just any beetle though! The red pigment have to come from this insect called the ‘Cochineal’. This pigment is called Carmine and it is located in paints, eyeshadows, lipsticks, and virtually anything that needs a specific type of red pigment that certain red dyes can’t pull off. This ingredient is one of the reasons some beauty brands can’t be vegan. An example of this is ANASTASIA Beverly Hills - Norvina Eyeshadow Palette Aside from the red hue, many formalists use this in their formula possibly to due the stability factors. Some alternatives to Carmine aren’t heat stable which can cause your precious lipstick, paint, or anything that requires heat to make to fall apart. There’s no going around decreasing the price for this stuff either. I’ve seen places that sell cosmetic grade Carmine for about $50 for ONE OZ. 😱 Carmine has always been naturally expensive and cause a palette to be 40-60 dollars vs drug store prices. It takes a lot of time/effort to extract this pigment from the beetles and turn into a cosmetic powder. You CANNOT use this by itself as it can be detrimental to your health if you inhale this. Your lungs are sensitive organs and if you get a little bit of something into them, you know it won’t be good news. On a first look, it is a really beautiful pigment. As I turn and shift the bag I received with the product in it, you can see how much dimension this red has. Depending on the angles you view it at and how the light hits it, you can see different hues resembling magenta, blood red, ruby red, pink undertones, etc. In the photo, you can see it up close as a deep red. Take a look at some of the beauty products you have in your beauty stash! Does yours have Carmine in it! :O

Natural + Dewy Beat Using New Products 💖🤩🥰
Hey Cherie Fam! 🍒 Happy new year all! I decided to do a natural and dewy makeup for my first look of 2021...and by natural I mean no lashes and no crazy and dramatic eyeshadow. For some this may be dramatic so it depends how you define “natural”. ...and by new products I mean new to me. Sorry that the tittle is a little click-baity 😳🥺 I got new products that I’ve been trying and loving lately. For DRUGSTORE PRODUCTS, I used: • MAYBELLINE - Lifter Gloss With Hyaluronic Acid I am wearing the shade petal and omfg I am never spending $$$ on fenty again because this is the exact same dupe. Formula feels the same and smells the same •wet n wild - MegaGlo Blushlighter I love this product, however I don’t think this is a “blush”. I thought the pink side was a blush but it’s as sheer and as shimmery as the highlighter. On the plus side, this is helping me GLOW and look dewy af. I got the shade “I Met Someone” •e.l.f. - Poreless Putty Primer I talked about this primer so many times and it’s so worth the $8! I don’t even use my high end primers anymore •e.l.f. - Instant Lift Brow Pencil I ran out of my HG brow pencil (Benefit Precisely my Brow) and tried this. It’s so creamy and the quality is so good. Did I mention it’s $2 • essence - Volume Booster Lash Primer I bought this after@madisonnoonsposted about it. I used L’Oréal primer but this is much cheaper and better •NYX - NYX Retractable Eyeliner I used to love Colourpop liners but they break easily on me. This has a much creamier and sturdy formula. I use the nude and white shade HIGH-END PRODUCTS •ANASTASIA Beverly Hills - Micro-Stroking Detailing Brow Pen I got the shade in dark brown and I prefer this much more than benefit’s microfilling pen. It’s much more precise and easier to use •ANASTASIA Beverly Hills - ANASTASIA Beverly Hills Pro Pencil You don’t need this. You can use concealer to clean up your brows but this makes it much easier and faster. I caught ABH’s 2 for 30 deal otherwise I wouldn’t repurchase •NATASHA DENONA - Mini Nude Eyeshadow Palette My current favorite 🤩 I have been using this and it’s perfect for an everyday look. The formula is amazing! I would invest if they had a bigger palette By the way shout out to @cheriefor my merch 🥰 the sweater is so comfy and I love the hat! I truly am proud to be a #CherieCreator Xoxo, Francesca 💋
It’s a bit outta my comfort zone but I no longer see a comfort zone, I’m pushing through hit or miss. You miss 100% of the shots you don’t take so... #KissedbyKissy💋 FMOIG @Blxck_Kvtty FMMUA @_KissedbyKissy FMOT @ Blxck_Kvtty🖤

A COMBO I LIVE BY
I get my dark circles genetically so there is really no way to get rid of them. Some days they are agreeable but most days they aren’t. I also struggle with my really red eyelids, so when I found these products they became a stable. I’ve tried other concealers but nothing truly hides them as well as I would like. PRODUCTS IN PICTURES: SEPHORA COLLECTION - Bright Future Color Correctors I love this because it cancels out the dark circles. It is really messy so I took off a star. I got in shade melon. NARS - Soft Matte Complete Concealer I use this after the color corrector. It is full coverage and fully covers everywhere applied. I heard about this on TikTok and literally love it. I use shade light 2.6. BECCA - Under Eye Brightening Corrector I also heard about this on TikTok and I only apply it on the inner part of my eye to give it a bright ring effect. It also hides any signs of my dark circles that show through. OTHER PRODUCTS USED: REN CLEAN SKINCARE - Perfect Canvas Clean Primer Use this before I apply my makeup and pat it in. Use 3 drops. MAYBELLINE - TattooStudio Brow Tint Pen in shade 360 medium brown. Gives hairlike effect. I use to fill in my arch. URBAN DECAY - All Nighter Long Lasting Setting Spray Jumbo & Travel Duo setting spray. Keeps my makeup on all day.
My Current 10 min makeup routine
So truth be told I can do this in as little as 6 min, but if something goes sideways or I add something else it ends up being more like 10, but never over. What my goal is with this look is to look alive. I have a 3 month old, so there are night feedings and some days start at 5am. I also have a toddler, so I kind of need all the help I can get. I should also mention my skin is dry. This post will be my routine, not reviews, they have been done or will be. it Cosmetics - it Cosmetics CC+ Cream SPF 50+ So I start with this. It has my spf and has a primer built in. That said I prefer a light application, so I use a knock off beauty blender BECCA - Under Eye Brightening CorrectorI explained my current sleep situation, so I need a little brightening in my life. I use my finger to apply and blend NARS - Radiant Creamy Concealeri cab get some redness, so this is more of my one size fits all concealer. I also use my finger to apply and blend I use the Physicians formula talc-free blush. I use a fluffy blush brush Too Faced - Peach Perfect Setting Powder I find all that liquid product needs a powder to be set, I just need to be careful with dry skin, I use a big fluffy brush L'ORÉAL - Brow Stylist Shape and Fill Pencil, I have pretty decent natural brows (my dad wouldn't let me tweeze in the 90's). So this is just to get the shape right. L'ORÉAL - Voluminous Lash Primermascara and I have a love/hate relationship, so I need a little extra work. I use my shu um L'ORÉAL - Voluminous Carbon Black Waterproof MascaraLove/hate the relationship may be, but I need it to wake me umera curler
MY POWDER AWARDS
Best Finish Award: Charlotte Tilbury - Airbrush Flawless Finish Setting Powder in Light & Medium This is my go-to powder for events and other occasions where I know I’ll be taking photos/videos. There’s just something about this powder that literally airbrushes the skin and leaves it looking extremely soft and flawless. I use the shade Light in the winter and Medium in the summer (I’ve gone through 2 of these powders already!) Goodbye pores, goodbye texture! Best Mattifying Award: rms beauty - "Un" Powder in Translucent If you’re looking for an extremely matte finish powder that won’t look or feel cakey, this is the perfect powder for you. It’s super thin, lightweight and feels invisible on the skin! The finish is super matte but doesn’t dry out the skin or emphasize pores/dryness! I have combination skin where my T-zone gets extremely shiny after a couple of hours and this powder manages to keep the area shine-free all day! Best Everyday Award: MAC - Mineralize Skinfinish Natural Face Powder in Medium My favorite everyday powder of all time! This mineral powder looks flawless on the skin while providing a hint of coverage and color, a subtle glow to the skin and help with mattifying my T-zone. This is my second compact of the powder because I love it so much! Best Shade-range Award: bareMinerals - BAREPRO Performance Wear Powder Foundation in Warm Light If you’re looking for a pressed foundation powder that truly matches your skin tone perfectly, I would recommend you in the direction of BareMinerals. They have SO many shades and in so many different undertones, there’s no way you won’t be able to find your perfect color match! This pressed powder is lightweight, yet still providing some coverage. I love it!

Bite Beauty's changemaker products are stunning! 😍
Bite Beauty has launched its foundation series! The packaging in morandi pink is so stunning! The three products introduced include the Changemaker Skin-Optimizing PrimerBITE - Changemaker Skin-Optimizing Primer, Changemaker Supercharged Micellar FoundationBITE - Changemaker Supercharged Micellar Foundation, and Changemaker Flexible Coverage Pressed PowderBITE - Changemaker Flexible Coverage Pressed Powder. The primer is available in two formulas (one for normal to dry skin and one for normal to oily skin) whereas the foundation comes in 32 shades! The pressed powder is also available in eight shades. I bought the foundation in the shade L10 and pressed powder in the shade Light 1. The foundation is totally skin-like. Even when I apply two layers, it doesn't look cakey at all. Instead, it improves my uneven skin texture and also offers sheer coverage. This foundation is marketed to offer a moderate coverage. However, since I use a beauty blender, the coverage is lighter than expected but I think it will offer a fuller coverage if I use a brush instead.🤔 The pressed powder is also really thin and lightweight but there is nothing special about it. I recently especially prefer using tinted pressed powder for makeup finishing and contouring.😉

Best Setting Powder Awards
I always use setting powder after foundation to ensure a long-lasting makeup. Here are 3 setting powder products that I want to show you and they are finalists of my Best Setting Powder Awards: NARS Light Reflecting Setting Powder - Best for pores I bought this in a loose powder version. They also have pressed powder version but this one has 10 grams which is more than pressed powder at the same price. The texture of this powder is very silky and smooth and it’s translucent. It gives you a matte finish but not very powdery but a little bit shimmery. I would say this is the most long-lasting setting powder and the best for pores in my collection. It can blur my pores and create a long-lasting flawless look. It impressed me that while it set my makeup on my face, it doesn’t make my skin dry or sit into the lines to make my makeup looks cakey, and that’s why I love it. GIVENCHY Prisme Libre Loose Powder - Best for colour-correcting This GIVENCHY loose powder is the best for colour-correcting. Compared to translucent powder, sometimes I like to use finishing powder like this one. This is a four-in-one product and they have different colour combination for different skin. I got this one with some pinky powder to even my skin tone and deliver a natural and healthy look. The texture is smooth as well and with some tiny glitters it gives a radiant-matte finish. But it’s not as long-lasting as the NARS one, so it’s more for a normal or dry skin. It has a puff with it so it’s convenient to use when you go outside. BECCA Hydra-Mist Set & Refresh Powder - Best for dryness This is a very special and innovative setting powder. It’s a totally different product compared to my other setting powder because it doesn’t feel like a powder but feels like water! It said the powder contains 50% water which makes the texture very silky and milky. And when I apply it on my face it’s so weird. It feels so wet and cooling but it doesn’t ruin the foundation, and it will deliver a matte finish eventually and diminish imperfections. Again I think it’s not such long-lasting as it contains much water, but I like to use it during the winter when the weather is so dry. So I would give it the award of best setting powder for dryness.

Get the Best Base Makeup in 10 minutes!
Personally I wear makeup everyday. For base makeup, I use sunscreen, primer, foundation and concealer. Here are the products I bought last year and have been using them ever since. 😘 Elizabeth Arden REVAGE City Smart Broad Spectrum SPF 50 Hydrating Shield Elizabeth Arden - PREVAGE City Smart Broad Spectrum SPF 50 Hydrating Shield： I think it as a makeup product by me because it is tinted with color. Sometimes when I don't want heavy makeup on my face, I'd just use this after my routine skincare. After that, I'd just apply concealer and finishing powder then, ta-da! Base makeup complete.😉 MAKE UP FOR EVER Ultra HD Perfector Blurring Skin Tint (Shade: 4 Golden Sand) MAKE UP FOR EVER - Ultra HD Perfector Skin Tint Foundation SPF 25: It has a lightweight finish and when applied with concealer and makeup setting products, the makeup can last for most of the day. The only drawback is that there are only a few shades available. It Cosmetics Bye Bye Breakout Full-Coverage Concealer (Shade: Medium (W)) it Cosmetics - Bye Bye Breakout Full-Coverage Concealer My friend recommended me this product when I had an acne flare. I was told that my acne would disappear after just a few days, and I have to say that it really does work on red swollen acne! Amazing!😍 By Terry Stylo-Expert Click Stick (Shade: 4.5 Soft Beige) BY TERRY - Stylo-Expert Click Stick Concealer It covers my under my eyes well and is not very dry. It has good coverage, but doesn't make my makeup look too heavy. Heavy under-eye makeup tends to result in coarse makeup. This product is just moderately lasting.

THE PERFECT BASE: NO MORE OIL!
For people with oily skin or people that have oily t-zones it can be so hard to find a makeup combination that will keep your makeup in place for a few hours let alone all day. It is pretty much impossible for my skin to be 100% oil free all day but I have seen a reduction in how oily my skin gets and I no longer have to reapply using this method. Rather than an looking like a greaseball I look “dewy” . Step 1: After i moisturize my face I use BECCA - Ever-Matte Poreless Priming Perfector This is not for people with normal to dry skin. It can be very drying but it works great for oily or combination skin it really gives my skin a matte finish and absorbs any oil on my skin Step 2: I use tarte - Timeless Smoothing Primer This is great for reducing the appearance of pores and smithing out the texture of your skin. It is super thick and a little goes a long way. Step 3: URBAN DECAY - Naked Skin Color Correcting Fluid This comes in a variety of colors but because I use it for dark spots and dark circles i use the shade Deep Peach. It helps to brighten dark areas and no dark spots shine through my foundation. Step 4: laura mercier - Translucent Loose Setting Powder I use the deep shade. I set my face with powder before I put on my foundation. This soaks up additional oils and I feel like putting powder on after my foundation makes my face look matte. If I am going for a dewy look I put it on before. And wait until i see little spots from where the powder absorbed oil before wiping away the excess. Step 5: LANCÔME - Teint Idole Ultra Long Wear Foundation i use the shade 530 Suede C. I love this foundation. It is a full coverage liquid foundation. It’s not super runny this foundation lasts longer than any other foundation I’ve used and it’s so easy to blend! Step 6: Setting spray. I like to spray on my foundation before i highlight and contour my face and after. It helps my makeup stay in place way longer. I use MAC - Prep + Prime Fix+ Primer and Setting Spray Matte Finish #CheriePartner

Foundations from Make up for ever—liquid or powder?
Today I want to share two products from Make up for ever, which is a professional brand with a great reputation. And their face products are really popular. I tried both the HD foundation and the Blurring powder foundation. I have dry skin, and I usually use moisturizing cream before I apply foundations, and my main expectation for them is to cover at least 50% of my pimples and acne marks. Besides, I have serious pores problem, and I need my foundations to fill and blur my pores. About the shade selection, I don’t want to look too white so I always go for the color that with neutral or yellow undertones. Let’s start with the Ultra HD Foundation, which is their best-selling, everyday liquid foundation. It has 50 shades, which is awesome, and my shade is Y225-Marble, for light skin with golden undertone. I had high expectations for this because lots of people said it didn’t dry out their skin and was comfortable to wear. It also has Hyaluronic Acid inside for hydrating. The finish is okay for me because it does give me a pretty natural look and can last for at least 6-7 hours. But there are several things I am not happy with. First of all, if I use a regular beauty blender to apply it, I can’t get much coverage even I use a lot. I can either use a dense brush or the velvet sponge from JUNO & Co. to have around 60% coverage. Besides, if I didn’t use a hydrating primer, I would have dry patches on my nose, cheeks and my smiling lines. The last thing is that I expected it to give me a luminous finish, but as you can see, it’s quite matte. So I need to use a setting spray to give myself some glow. To be honest, I use this foundation a lot for my daily makeup because it is really easy to blend and long-lasting, and it just doesn’t give me a surprise. Then let’s talk about the Matte Velvet Skin Powder. It claims to be full coverage, blurring powder with a lifelike matte finish, and you can wear 12 hours without cakes, flakes or fades. There are 30 shades and the names are the same as the HD collection. I use the shade Y235-ivory beige, which is a little darker than my skin but looks good after I finish my makeup. Compared to the HD one, I love this one much better—higher coverage, more blurring, longer-lasting, and almost no caking. At first, I thought it could be too dry for me to use powder products, but this one is really smooth and visibly reducing pores and still lightweight. Besides, it’s convenient to carry with and has a mirror inside. After buying this, I never used the HD one again. In conclusion, I feel like if you have the same skin problems, need coverage, and love matte finish. I highly recommend the Matte Velvet Powder Foundation no matter what skin type you got only if you prime well. And this is my favorite foundation ever!
