SPIDER BUNS 🕷 🎃 #CheriePartner
Hey y’all! As Halloween is right around the corner I’ve been messing around with cute subtle ways to participate in the festivities! I normally don’t go out or do anything crazy but I came up with this really cute 🕷 bun look! I got the inspo from my younger sister and she suggested to try something a little different. I have Curly 4B/4C Hair! Tools: 1. Chenille Stems ( My mom always called them pipe cleaners) 2. Bobby pins 3. Googly eyes 4. Hot glue gun 5. Scrunchies( to secure buns) 6. Gel to make your buns sleek Here’s how I got this cute look: 1. I parted my hair into a half up half down style. 2. I took the half up part and parted it into two to create two buns at the top of my head. I took my edge control and laid my edges down. 3. I then secured the bottom part of my hair to keep it out the way. 4. I then made the buns. I fluffed them out to get the body just right. 5. After doing my buns I took 3 Bobby pins and hot glued googly eyes to the top of them. 6. I then took a stem and pushed it through my bun to where it was sticking out on either side. I then bent the stems to form something that looked like legs. 7. Repeat that 3 more times until it looks like you have 8 spider legs coming out of your bun. 8. Next take the Bobby pins with googly eyes and place the at the front of the bun to look make the spiders eyes 9. WAHLAH Spider buns! I hope you guys enjoyed this tutorial! Let me know if you try this look would love to see! BESOS 😘🕷🎃

Halloween Skin Care 🎃🧼 #CheriePartner
THE KEY IS IN THE CLEANSING Hey y’all! Halloween is just around the corner and I love to see all the makeup looks that come out of this festive day! I’ve been experimenting with a really cute Orange look to sit at home in my sorting hat and pass out candy to the cute kids in my complex lol! Anyways With coming up with makeup looks and things like that there’s definitely an added layer and effort to your aftercare routine for your skin. And to me the most important thing is CLEANSING. I am an avid double cleanser and it’s changed my routine and my skin greatly but in the best way. I recently came upon this double cleanser in one that I received as a sample from a Soko Glam haul (I absolutely love this website for all my skin needs). The cleanser is the CÉLEFIT - Double Effect Cleanser Oil to Foam YALL LET ME TELL YOU I love this cleanser! It’s super gentle and leaves my skin feeling really clean and soft. The foam is light and leaves me feeling fresh. It’s great for people like me with sensiskin because of how gentle it is and it doesn’t feel abrasive in the slightest. It has a faint smell but nothing too overpowering. I used this to take off some makeup and it just washed everything away. 10/10 I’m definitely going to purchase the full size once my sample is out! What are some of your go to cleansers? Let me know below! Can’t wait to see all of your beautiful Halloween looks on my feed! BESOS 😘🎃

Hey guys! So today I’m gonna be talking about some of my new fav skin care trends and how they’ve helped my skin so far! I have combo sensitive skin and I struggle with hyper pigmentation and moisture during the winter months. Recently I’ve started using a method that has been referred to as glazing as well as slugging. I personally like the glazed donut name lol it’s cute! But I discovered this method via a very reputable esthetician on Twitter (@MakeupForWOC) she’s this amazing esthetician and I’ve been following her for years and all her recommendations have come in handy. She personally uses Cerave healing ointment but y’all I can’t find this stuff at any of my local stores. Everyone is sold out. So I heard from her that you can also use some sort ointment like petroleum jelly. Vaseline - 100% Pure Petroleum Jelly, Original I decided to use one infused with coco butter and let me tell y’all it’s a great dupe until Cerave becomes available! 🍩Now I’ve been doing this for about a week and a half now and I already notice a difference in my moisture barrier. My skin feels more hydrated and soft. It seems to help everything sink in better! Now I only do this at night as my last skin step before bed and just do my normal skin care routine when I wake up. I definitely recommend this if you’re someone like me who struggles in the winter months to keep your face moisturized and hydrated! Another Trend that I’ve recently incorporated is a retinol serum. This is meant to help diminish dark spots and even out skin tone. I’ve only been using the CeraVe - Resurfacing Retinol Serum for about a week and I can’t really say it has done too much of anything. I do like that it is a lightweight formula containing ingredients like licorice root extract. Licorice root is said to help with inflammation and gentle brightening effects. I’m going to give it another week or two and check back in! Have you tried any of these trends? And if you have do you like them? Let me know below! BESOS 😘

LETS TALK ROOIBOS TEA #CheriePartner
LETS TALK ROOIBOS TEA #CheriePartner
Hey Guys I’m back with another Tea post! I got so much good feedback from the first one that I decided to make another one zeroing in on Rooibos Tea and the benefits. 🍃Rooibos Tea: I love Rooibos Tea! It comes in so many different variations. And as I stated before in a previous post it has weight loss benefits and does help with hormonal acne. A few more details about this Tea are: - Anti-Spasmodic properties alleviate stomach discomfort e.g. cramps. This is because the compounds activate potassium ions. - It helps to improve fine lines and wrinkles - Anti Aging Properties - Has been shown to aid in treating skin concerns like Eczema. I would like to emphasize that this is not the same for everyone. Everyone’s skin and body is different and these are just things that are researched based as well as personal experiences! I have drank Rooibos tea for quite sometime and it has definitely aided in my cramps and when I drink this tea during skin irritation and inflammation it has reduced the effects slightly and has definitely aided in calming it. My favorite Rooibos tea is a Chai blend from Teavanna which is now permanently closed but I have found dupes at places like Whole Foods and Sprouts! E.g. Yogi Rooibos Chai is a common dupe that I absolutely love and you can find it at several different stores. What other Teas would you guys like to know more about? BESOS 😘

My fav Body scrub! 🤎
My fav Body scrub! 🤎
Hey y’all! So today I’m gonna be talking about my favorite body scrub! Now when it comes to body scrubs I’m a very picky person and I thoroughly enjoy shopping small. I search far and wide for really good body butters and scrubs because I love to feel soft and smooth after a shower and the exfoliating benefits are amazing! One of the things I struggle with when it comes to my skin is it can get dry and I have to exfoliate and use good moisturizing lotions too keep my skin smooth and hydrated. My favorite body scrub is one from Akilahs Essentials! I came across this small black owned business on Twitter and I thought I’d give her a try. AKILAH'S ESSENTIALS - Coffee and Brown Sugar Body Scrub : I bought her Coffee and Brown sugar Body scrub and my oh my it’s amazing! I usually don’t do coffee scrubs because they can leave a tub messy but with this product it didn’t matter lol the way it leaves your skin feeling soft and smooth after is worth the mess. Columbian coffee grounds are coarse enough to slough off dead skin but gentle enough to not strip your skin raw. The brown sugar definitely helps balance out that coarse coffeee ground. The coconut oil leaves your skin hydrated and moisturized. I always use this as my last step in my bath routine because of the oil. Bonus points because it smells divine! Overall I really enjoy this product and what it does for my skin! I would definitely recommend it and again it’s Black Owned an we love to support small businesses! What’s your fav body scrub? BESOS 😘

THIS DERMATOLOGISTS FAVORITE NEW CLEANSER
THIS DERMATOLOGISTS FAVORITE NEW CLEANSER
Cleansers are an essential step in everyone’s skincare routine, but it can be difficult to find the right one for your skin. The new Aveeno Calm + Restore nourishing oat cleanser has been my new go-to daily cleanser and I love it. ❤️🙌 Aveeno has always been a brand to create formulations that target dry and sensitive skin and this cleanser is no different. This cleanser is great for people all skin types but would likely benefit dry or combination skin most. The incorporated oat complex helps restore build the skin’s moisture barrier and soothe itchy skin. There is no stripping effect with this cleanser, which is something too always look for with your cleanser. Other pros about this product are its fragrance free (limiting any irritant reactions) as well as great pricing. On amazon, you can find a bottle for under $10.‼️‼️ TRUTH: If you are trying to fight acne or blackheads I recommend against this cleanser and try finding something with salicylic acid. Have you tried the new Aveeno cleanser? Let me know your thoughts in the comments! ⤵️

Reclaiming my time and saving my hair
About the product: The REVLON - One-Step Paddle Dryer has a large paddle brush head that detangles, dries and smooths your hair “in half the time.” It comes in two handle colors, black and pink. My thoughts: I have a lot of iterations of this brush/comb-dryer, but this feels like the best so far. It detangles my hair very well and prepares my hair for whatever style I want to do. Some times, the handle gets hot so I bought a heat-resistant glove, but I have only used it a few times. (Use a heat protector. Because heat is heat.) Why it is a hair-saver: It prevents me from causing heat damage because it really does detangle, dry and smooth so I don’t have to keep going over a section. Recommend? Yes! 🔎 Where to find it? 🔍 🔘 Revlon: $39.99* 🔘 Bed Bath & Beyond: $33.99 🔘 Walmart: $33.99 ⚪️ Target 🔘 Amazon: $33.99* 🔘 Ulta: $39.99* 🔘Walgreens: $39.99 ⚪️ CVS *sold online in a pink-handled version for $39.99

I found the perfect summer exfoliator🤩🤩🤩
I found the perfect summer exfoliator🤩🤩🤩
suisai - Beauty Clear Powder This face cleanser is a powder cleanser that's been quite popular in Japanese drug store for many years. It's an amino-acid based cleanser that also contains enzyme. It does not have added fragrance which is important to me as I have sensitive skin. It's been super hot in LA and I feel like my skin is turning from sensitive to oily 🥵 I really need a good summer exfoliator to unclog my pores. This cleanser comes in small capsules which makes it very easy to travel with. I don't know why but every time I travel, my cleanser ALWAYS gets spilled in my makeup bag and makes a big mess. Hopefully I won't have the same issue next time I travel (2021 can't get here soon enough. I can't wait to travel again😭😭) As suggested, I took a single portion of powder on my palm after I wet my face, and lathered it with a small amount of water. The powder turned into this silky foam pretty quickly. The cleanser felt gentle on the skin and afterwards my skin felt nice and soft but not tight. It also felt slightly smoother. Given its exfoliating nature I don't think I will be using this on a daily basis but I will definitely continue to keep it on my shelf for weekly exfoliation!

Types of Acne
Types of Acne
As more and more people join Cherie, I am seeing an influx of posts for people asking for help in regards to their acne and breakouts. I decided to create an informative post for those who are just starting out about the different types of acne. The first umbrella category for acne is the non-inflammatory branch. Under this branch include whiteheads and blackheads. The second umbrella category for acne is the inflammatory branch. Under this branch you have pimples, papules, pustules, nodules, and cysts. Non-inflammatory: Blackheads -Otherwise known as open comedones -Occurs when a pore is clogged by a combination of sebum and dead skin cells. The top of the pore stays open despite the rest of it being clogged -The clogged pore gets oxidized by air and appears black -Treatment options are retinoids, salicylic acid, BHAs, clay masks, and charcoal masks Whiteheads -Otherwise known as closed comedones -Also form when a pore is clogged by a contamination of sebum. The top of the pore closes and looks like a small bump protruding from the skin -Whiteheads are more difficult to treat since the pore is closed. -Treatment options are retinols, salicylic acid, BHAs, and adapalene Inflammatory: Pimples -Red and swollen bumps on the skin -Caused by a buildup of sebum, dead skin cells, and bacteria -Treatment options are benzoyl-peroxide, retinols, salicylic acid, azelaic acid, sulfur, and many more Papule -Small spots on the skin that are swollen and inflamed. No puss is visible from the surface of the skin. Papules mainly occur when the walls surrounding your pores break down from severe inflammation. -The papule is hard, clogged, and tender to the touch. The skin around the papule is usually pink -Treatment options are retinols, salicylic acid, and antibiotics Pustules -Like papules, pustules also occur form the walls surrounding your pores break down from severe inflammation. The only difference between a pustule and a papule is that a pustule is filled with puss whereas a papule is not. -When a pustule emerges from the skin, it is usually red in color and has a white or yellow top -Treatment options are antibiotics, salicylic acid, sulfur, benzoyl-peroxide, and clay masks Nodules -Nodules occur when clogged, swollen pores experience further irritation and grow larger. Nodules are deep under the skin. -Nodules usually cannot be treated with over the counter products. It is best to see a dermatologist for the best treatment plan for you. Cysts -Cysts are caused by a pore being clogged with bacteria, sebum, and dead skin cells. Cysts occur deeper in the skin than nodules. Cysts will present with or without a yellow or white head and be very painful. -Treatments options are antibiotics from a dermatologist

My fav body lotion with wonderful scent😍😍😍
My fav body lotion with wonderful scent😍😍😍
Johnson's MILK peach&apricot And we understand baby’s delicate skin loses moisture faster and more easily throughout the day. JOHNSON’S® baby milk lotion contains a rich combination of milk proteins plus essential vitamins to help complete skin nourishment. It is the safest baby lotion. By nourishing skin, it leaves it softer, smoother and healthier after the very first use.  This fine soap contains milk proteins and vitamin E. It does not hurt eyes. Box says it is dermatologist and allergy tested. Ingredients: Sodium Palmate, Sodium Palm Kernelate, Fragrance, Glycerin, Mineral Oil, Titanium Dioxide, Etidronic Acid, Tocopheryl Acetate (Vit E), Milk Protein. The product comes in a white soft plastic tube (available in tubs also). It is a thick white cream which gets easily absorbed giving you a non-greasy yet moisturised finish. Firstly i bought it for my younger brother. It is great, leave my brother's skin very smooth and it is not sticky, it dries very fast and has a wonderful smell. It also helps with any rash caused by the diaper, and it's great on the knees after he has scratched them playing in the park so they won't be like the skin of a crocodile! Then i tried it on my sensitive skin. It has a soft clean scent. Super affordable watery texture and easy to wash. Wonderful in the winter for chapped skin, as one would never complain of “sting” as with other lotions! Pros: * A very good moisturiser. * Gets easily absorbed. Non-greasy. * Never broke me out. * Very good scent * Contains Vitamins A & E and milk protein which are good for skin. * Affordable. * Packaging is good. Can carry it in your purse easily. * Texture is thick and has a long staying power. * It is mainly a baby product, so no harmful chemicals. * Cons: It contains mineral oil, which I really don’t like much. Otherwise it is a very good product. What's your fav body lotion? Tell me below!👇
