Cute Bangs for a Round Face. 💇🏽♀️
Sade.s.a
THIS ONES FOR MY CURLY FRIENDS!
🌀 I have Thick 4B curly hair and I one through a many of cuts and styles in my 10 years of being natural but over the past year I finally found a shape that works for me and the ultimate wash and go that compliments my plush round face!
I got bangs! I was so worried about having bangs but my stylist promised it was perfect. And she was spot on! Bangs help bring out my cheeks and draw attention to my eyes. Things that normally blend in are framed beautifully by my bangs.
I suggest to go for it if you’ve ever considered it and have a face shape like me!

Ready for Pina Coladas Pineapple Hairstyle 🍍🍹
My hair type is kinky/curly with some frizz.
1 & 2: For this look, I start off by brushing out my hair for a more “straight fro” look.
I detangle my hair with a spritz of water (in the green spray bottle I reused from Saje) and some of the GRAYDON - Intimacy Oil
This oil is nice and light, containing hemp seed oil, adding a light sheen to the hair without being overbearing in scent nor consistency.
3. Then I bunch up all of my hair into the center top of my head and
4. as I’m tying up my hair, I let a bit of my hair ends hang outside of the scrunchie.
I love this hairstyle as my go-to party look because I look fun and classy without having to worry about my hair getting super frizzy and sticking to my face over the course of the night, like when I’m dancing or you know 🤪

What to except from hair salons during SIP
We are officially SIX MONTHS into social distancing and sheltering in place. Here in LA things have somewhat eased up with al fresco dining becoming available, stores opening up, and more outdoor activities (like drive in concerts and such) becoming available.
The beauty world has also opened up with nail salons and hair salons now accepting clients, all with precautionary measures. I have yet to go to a nail salon but I did desperately need a haircut! After debating whether or not I should attempt an at-home cut, I ultimately decided to leave it up to pros.
So, what is a cut during corona virus like?
No wash and blow dry
This one bummed me out a bit because getting my hair washed is one of my favorite parts of hair cuts! But no washing minimizes time in contact with each customer. They still style your hair with hot tools, though!
Hair cuts done outside
Technically, indoor hair salons and barber shops are meant to be closed still, but many businesses have simply moved their operations out doors in order to accommodate guests and keep their doors open.
Prices are the same
I guess a part of me thought that maybe hair cuts would be a tad cheaper to make up for the not-as-pleasant experience of sitting out in a parking lot, and not getting a wash and blow dry. But the level of expertise is still there and in times like these, I’m willing to pay what every hair stylists deserves! You know the saying, if you can’t pay the tip (in this case the rate) you can’t afford to get it done!
How to Create a Textured Pixie Look
Creating texture, especially on short hair, can be tricky and downright frustrating if you don't know how to encourage texture properly. As someone who has naturally curly texture, it has been easy for me to create that desired piecey look. For those of you whose hair resists texture at all costs, I will go as much into detail as possible to help encourage texture within your hair.
To get this look you need:
KENRA PROFESSIONAL - Platinum Texturizing Taffy 13
ORIBE - Dry Texturizing Spray
How to:
Start with clean towel-dried hair and begin blow-drying your pixie from the crown to your front hairline in a forward motion. Don't use a brush to blow dry, just use your fingers to rake through your hair. If you can, blow dry your hair following its natural growth pattern (wherever your hair wants to lay naturally), this will give you the best results and prevent any resistance from any unruly areas.
Once your hair is about 90% dry (still damp/cool to the touch), grab your Platinum Texturizing Taffy and add a fingernail size to your palm (just go by the size of your nail on your pointer finger). Rub your hands together to distribute and melt product; this will ensure even distribution onto your hair. Rake fingers through your hair in a forward and backward motion. Don't be afraid to make your hair super crazy to ensure you get the product all over (you should look like you just got electrocuted).
After you are finished applying, brush your fingers through your hair following your natural growth pattern to tame the craziness and begin blow-drying until hair is 100% dry.
To add the finishing touches, take your Dry Texturizing Spray and apply it to the roots through the midshaft of your hair. Do this in sections working your way back to your crown. Using your fingertips, shake, and massage hair at the roots to encourage volume.
Tip:
For extra texture or pieceyness, take a tiny bit of your Platinum Texturizing Taffy on your fingertips and work different sections into a point by pinching and sliding your fingers from midshafts to ends. (if this is confusing let me know and I will post a demonstration)
Feel free to share your finished styles or comment with any questions!

Give your root a MEGA boost
To all my thin hair girls out there, this is for you!
First thing first, is PARTING. this is one of the most important step that most people may not notice. It is actually something you should pay more attention to if you are not already. It adds volume to your hair in a natural way makes your hair look bigger.
You may have the same parting years and years in the way that you feel comfortable with. Knowing what parting best fits your face shape is essential not what’s trending. Correcting your parting in the right way can even make you look more attractive.
For example, center part is a current hip and goes well with wavy and straight; It makes the symmetry of your face stand out, obviously it doesn’t look good on those who don’t have that symmetrical faces. off-center is slightly off the center this is best for people who don’t have perfect symmetrical faces and try to offset a feature on their face; side part is a much edgier and sexy look.
Once you figure out your parting, let’s get to my new findings! These root support I got from dollar store which I found quote interesting and decide to give it a try. Basically you just clip it at the bottom of your root when your hair is damp. And dry blow it. You can also put it on when you wake up in the morning and work on other things for a little while. Just remember to take it off before going out. It basically claps and sets your hair in a little C shape on the root to add the extra volume.
The reason I like it is 1. It is supper affordable, only a few dollars definitely worth trying; 2. and it is easy to use; And 3. It does not damage your hair at all. Unlike iron or spray with either physical or chemical damages.
how to: accessorize! ft. my new favorite hair-do
I recently cut half my hair off 😅, so I’m learning different styles I can do for my new length! this is my newest obsessions! flipped out sleek with a side part + barrette!
1. I always start any heat styling with a serum. I’ve been loving function of beauty - Custom Hair Serum which I customized to my hair needs! it’s so silky and I feel like it cuts down drying time, too!
2. next, I blow dry my hair with my mini dryer from the amika set > amika: - Smooth Operator Set Polished Perfection Straightening Brush 2.0, Perk Up Dry Shampoo, Mighty Mini Dryer, the Shield Anti-Humidit
this tiny dryer actually replaced my full sized one. it’s SO powerful. even my super thick hair dries so easily and quickly with this little one.
3. using a straightener, I simply flip the ends out. the nice thing about this style is you don’t have to run your straightener through all your hair, just the bottom parts!
4. I love using my barrettes on the sides, either on the heavier part, or the smaller. depends on the look you’re going for! one day I may get bold and put one on each side! lol. no promises.
that’s it! this style is actually really easy, it took me like 20 minutes, but I love how polished and fancy it makes me look. have you tried this style? do you want to? lmk!
