🌙 Goodbye Chestne & Backne 🌙

For years I have struggled with “chicken skin” on my upper arms and chest. There were times that it was so bad that I was bullied and called a “chicken” both for my chicken-like skin and my acne (my acne resembled chicken pox at times). After a while I came to accept it as part of my skin. Until recently! These pictures were taken approximately five weeks apart. As you can see in the top corners of the first picture I had notiecabld discoloration and bumps (“chicken skin”). It is still not completely gone but overall my skin has gotten much better and the bumps have faded significantly. If you have this and are wondering what this is it is called Keratosis Pilaris. Keratosis pilaris is a common, harmless skin condition that causes small, hard bumps that may make your skin feel like sandpaper. You may have heard it called “chicken skin.” The bumps are often light-colored. They usually appear on your upper arms, thighs, and buttocks, sometimes with redness or swelling. It’s appearance can be reduced by using chemically exfoliating products that contain ingredients such as salicylic acid. I have sensitive skin so I wanted my routine to be fairly simple and contain minimal products. Every day that I showered I began with the Neutrogena Oil-Free Acne wash on my arms. Neutrogena - Oil-Free Acne Wash I chose this because it’s a product I have used before and it didn’t contain a harsh percentage of Salicylic acid. After I showered and toweled off I used the Gold Bond Rough & Bumpy skin lotion. GOLD BOND - Rough & Bumpy Skin Once a week I used The Ordinary Peeling Solution for nine minutes before applying the Gold Bond lotion. It’s important to make sure you have thoroughly washed off the Neutrogena face wash because if you did not then the Ordinary Peeling Face Mask with form a weird lather and can potentially irritate your skin.The Ordinary - AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution It was definitely a lot of work to do this on top of my acne routine as well and I didn’t see overnight results but overall I would say it was totally worth it! Pro tip: if you have chicken skin make sure you MOISTURIZE! A common cause of chicken skin is dry skin.

GOLD BOND - Rough & Bumpy Skin- this product popped up twice on my Cherie feed! My legs have bumps, are a little rough and have dark spots... I’m really hoping this cream will make a difference! I will be taking before and after photos! Neutrogena - Hydro Boost Sunscreen SPF 50 I previously used a spf moisturizer before making the switch to this. I hope this is non greasy, easy to apply and doesn’t leave a white cast. Glee the face wax- Everyone grows hair but for a Indian girl like me my upper lip is a huge problem. I picked this up because I needed new wax strips and wanted to try this brand. I hope these work out well! And want to let you all know in case you need them as well!
